Multiregional secure localization using compressive sensing in wireless sensor networks

  • Security and accuracy are two issues in the localization of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) that are difficult to balance in hostile indoor environments. Massive numbers of malicious positioning requests may cause the functional failure of an entire WSN. To eliminate the misjudgments caused by malicious nodes, we propose a compressive-sensing-based multiregional secure localization (CSMR_SL) algorithm to reduce the impact of malicious users on secure positioning by considering the resource-constrained nature of WSNs. In CSMR_SL, a multiregion offline mechanism is introduced to identify malicious nodes and a preprocessing procedure is adopted to weight and balance the contributions of anchor nodes. Simulation results show that CSMR_SL may significantly improve robustness against attacks and reduce the influence of indoor environments while maintaining sufficient accuracy levels.

  • In this paper a three-phase secure compressive sensing (CS) and received signal strength (RSS) based target localization approach is proposed to mitigate the effect of malicious node attack. RSS measurements are first arranged into a group of subsets where the same measurement can be included in multiple subsets. Intermediate target position estimates are then produced using individual subsets of RSS measurements and the CS technique. From the intermediate position estimates, the residual error vector and residual error square vector are formed. The least median of residual error square is utilized to define a verifier parameter. The selected residual error vector is utilized along with a threshold to determine whether a node or measurement is under attack. The final target positions are estimated by using only the attack-free measurements and the CS technique. Further, theoretical analysis is performed for parameter selection and computational complexity evaluation. Extensive simulation studies are carried out to demonstrate the advantage of the proposed CS-based secure localization approach over the existing algorithms.

국방분야 보안 RTOS의 무기체계 적용 및 발전 방안 (Application and Development Strategies of a Secure Real-Time Operating System in Weapon Systems within the Defense Sector)

  • 국방 분야에서 사이버 위협이 증대되면서 무기체계 소프트웨어의 보안이 중요해지고 있고, 현재 국내 무기체계 탑재 임베디드 소프트웨어의 대부분은 보안성이 없는 외산 실시간 운영체제(RTOS) 기반으로 동작하고 있다. 이에 따라 무기체계 임베디드 소프트웨어의 국산화와 보안 강화가 시급한 과제로 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 보안 RTOS의 무기체계 적용 및 발전 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 국내외 RTOS 및 보안 RTOS 기술 동향을 살펴보고, 현 무기체계 임베디드 소프트웨어의 문제점을 분석하였다. 그 결과 국산화 저조, 사이버 공격 취약성, 유지보수 어려움, 비용 증가, 기술력 축적 기회 상실 등이 주요 문제점으로 도출되었다. 현존 무기체계에 적용된 임베디드 소프트웨어 현황을 조사한 결과, 기동, 화력, 방호, 지휘통제·통신, 함정, 항공 등의 분야에 임베디드 SW가 운용 중이며, 이 중 99%이상이 VxWorks 등 외산 RTOS에 의존하고 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 보안 RTOS의 핵심 기능과 무기체계 적용 가능성을 검토한 결과, 현존 및 미래 무기체계의 사격통제, 항법장치, 비행제어 등 핵심 분야에서 실시간 성과 보안성이 요구되는 영역을 중심으로 적용이 가능할 것으로 전망된다. 다만 성능과 신뢰성 확보, 검증 및 호환성 확보, 정부의 체계적 지원 등이 선결 과제로 제기되었다.

Market Entry Strategy of LINE in Japan

  • This study analyzed the successful case of Naver LINE's entry into the Japanese market. LINE pursued a strategy of establishing its dominance early on and implemented localization for Japan and thereby achieved success in the Japanese market. The various strategies adopted by LINE allowed it to win over 80% of the market share in Japan and function as a nationally ubiquitous mobile messenger. The conclusions to be drawn from our LINE analysis is that LINE must implement localization strategies suited to the characteristics of each country, as it had done successfully in Japan. In the Asian region, it should retain the platform that provides various contents while pursuing a localization strategy to secure competitive edge, by offering emoticons suitable for each country, such as Ramadan emoticons in Islamic regions.

모형 스케일 자율운항 해양 이동체의 확장칼만필터 기반 측위 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Localization Technique Using Extended Kalman Filter for Model-Scale Autonomous Marine Mobility)

  • Due to the low accuracy of measured data obtained from low-cost GNSS and IMU devices, it was hard to secure the required accuracy of the measured position and heading angle for autonomous navigation which was conducted by a model-scale marine mobility. In this paper, a localization technique using the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is proposed for coping with the issue. First of all, a position and heading angle estimator is developed using EKF with the assumption of a point mass model. Second, the measured data from GNSS and IMU, including position, heading angle, and velocity are used for the estimator. In addition, the heading angle is additionally obtained by comparing the LiDAR point cloud with map information for a temporal water tank. The newly acquired heading angle is integrated into the estimator as an additional measurement to correct the inaccuracy in the heading angle measured from the IMU. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is investigated using data acquired from preliminary tests of the model-scale autonomous marine mobility.

  • Localization trends in Korea and trade liberalization in the world are the important challenges to agricultural extension services in Korea, and strategic directions in terms of system, organization, programs and conciousness would be necessary for adapting to the new circunstances. Some of the measures to improve and activate agricultural extension services in Korea should include the following: 1) Modification of extension personnel appointment regulations to secure specialized extension agents by the provincial administrators and county directors at the provincial and county level rural extension services. 2) Flexible organization and operation of county level rural guidance offices to meet the specific needs of local areas. 3) Strenghening the central government's financial support for effective local extension services in terms of facility and manpower. 4) Expansion of agricultural extension programs for women and urban people and quality inservice training for extension personnel.

안전필수 한국형 고속철도 전자연동장치 사양개발에 관한 연구 (Study on the Specification Development of the Safety-critical Korean High-speed Rail Interlocking Equipment)

  • In this paper we present the specification development for the localization of interlockings which control routes within a HSR station yard. For the electronic interlockings in Korea introduced from France in the 1990s, it has a complicated hardware configuration and communication protocols in order to secure safety. Now 30 years later, in case of the application of the up-to-date IT technology, it is expected to achieve equal or greater safety and save maintenance costs. Additionally, we develop the specification so as to utilize the stable domestic electronic interlocking technology for general railways, beyond the simple maintenance for the performance maintenance of foreign devices, to high-speed railways. Therefore, we perform a study for the localization of the HSR electronic interlockings by comparing and analyzing interlocking logic units between conventional HSR and general railways.

Growth Strategy of PASECO as a Global Electronic Company: Focusing on the Middle East Market

  • Purpose - This study aims to analyze PASECO's environment and strategies during its advance into the Middle East to find out the success factors of the kerosene heater market and provide strategic implications for small and medium enterprises' growth based on these factors. Research design and methodology - This study analyzes the success factors of companies operating in the Middle East. As a case analysis study, the method of research analyzes case enterprises through existing literature, newspaper articles, and corporate interview materials. Results - PASECO's success was shown by its high technological power in kerosene heater products, understanding customers' needs, understanding the Middle East market and localization strategy. Conclusions - PASECO has been constantly developing R&D capability to secure competitive products and has released localized products to enhance the satisfaction of its customers in the Middle East and has also been successful by constantly creating new opportunities. The firm's success strategies provide implications for small and medium-sized businesses for greater growth.

실시간 온라인 금융솔루션 수출을 위한 지급결제프레임워크 (Payment Settlement Framework for Exporting Real-Time Online Financial Solution)

  • Korean small and medium sized software companies have tried to export their solutions or services to overseas markets. In 2016, exports of the software industry increased by 6.0% from the previous year, and the value added of the industry was 2.2 times higher than that of the manufacturing industry. From a long-term perspective, it is important to secure a global competitive advantage in order to sustain the export high value-added of the software industry. The obstacles to entry into the overseas market of small to medium enterprises are as follows: first, difficulty in product development and localization of marketing; second, lack of investment for overseas expansion; and finally, competitiveness of software technology. In particular, To overcome such obstacles, Korean small and medium sized software companies should increase the technical perfection and secure software export competitiveness. The paper presents a payment settlement framework enabling adaptive reuse and semiautomatic development of global payment settlement services. The quantitative and qualitative evaluation results are presented with domestic and overseas case studies as follows: Firstly, semi-automatic development is realized successfully by applying the framework. Secondly, it is possible to maintain consistent quality of software and to deliver maintenance services without relying on the internal human resources. Thirdly, it is possible to reduce the project duration of the same development cope to less than 50% by applying the framework. Finally, because it is based on BPMN 2.0, which is a high level design diagram, it is expected that it will be easy to implement through components connection and reduce difficulties in technology transfer and localization. Also, at the time of runtime operation, it will be effective to understand the design idea easily and to carry out additional developments without human resource who participated in the initial project.

인도네시아 진출 한국기업의 현지화에 관한 사례 연구 (A Study on Case for Localization of Korean Enterprise in Indonesia)

  • 본 논문은 현지화의 이론적 배경 및 전략적 모형을 통해 인도네시아에 진출한 한국기업의 현지화의 성공과 실패사례 분석하여 현지화에 성공할 수 있는 구체적인 방안을 고찰해 보고자 하였다. 현지화의 전략적 모형을 생산 및 소싱의 현지화, 인적자원의 현지화, 마케팅의 현지화, R&D의 현지화와 관련한 경영관리 측면과 현지사회와의 조화로운 관계, 본사의 현지 자회사 권한이양으로 나누었다. 그리고 인도네시아에 진출한 개별기업의 현지화 성공사례와 실패사례를 파악하고, 전략적 모형의 틀 안에서 이들을 비교분석하여 성공적인 현지화의 구체적인 방안을 제시하였다. 인도네시아에 진출한 한국기업의 성공과 실패사례를 분석한 결과, 생산 및 소싱의 현지화 측면에서는 현지 기후에 맞는 제품을 개발하여 성공한 기업도 있으나 완성차 조립 부실로 실패했던 기업도 있었다. 인적자원의 현지화는 대부분 기업들이 이 부분의 중요성을 인식하고 교육을 통한 우수한 인적자원을 확보하기 위해 노력하고 있었다. R&D는 대체적인 기업들이 국내에 있는 본사에서 수행하고 있었고 현지화는 취약한 것으로 보인다. 현지사회와의 조화로운 관계 부분에 있어서는 문화적 환경에 초점을 맞추어 지역사회에 공헌하며 지역주민과는 우호적이고 선량한 기업의 이미지를 형성하여야 현지화에 성공하는 기업이 될 수 있다는 것을 보여준다. 본사의 현지 자회사 권한이양 부분은 본사와 현지 자회사의 공동참여에 의한 결정 보다는 본사에 의해 결정되는 경향이 있었다. 현지화 전략의 시사점은 부품의 현지화, 우수한 인력 양성, 인도네시아 기업이라는 이미지, 현지 R&D센터 설치, 현지 경영진의 자율권, 현지 정부 및 기업과 의 신뢰 등이다. 향후 한국기업이 인도네시아 시장에서 성공적인 기업이 되기 위해서는 본사와 현지 자회사 간에 고도의 상호의존적인 복합형태가 이루어 져야 하고 활발한 정보교환과 국적에 관계없는 최적의 인재 등용이 추진되어야 할 것으로 보인다.
