The entire plant of Leptadenia reticulata (Asclepidaceae) is extensively used as lactogen, traditionally, in veterinary practice. The plants of Dregea volubilis and Pentatropis microphylla (Asclepidaceae) are now used as its substitute and sometimes replace the original drug as traditional lactogen. The lactogenic potential of these drugs was studied in rats using, pup weight, weight of mother, parenchyma percentage, secretary rating, estimation of total protein content and glycogen content of mammary glands tissues as assessment parameters. HPTLC profiles of bioactive extracts were also generated to serve the authentification needs. The results of present studies show that P.microphylla forms a better substitute over D. volubilis.

Synaptobrevin is a kind of vesicle associated membrane proteins (VAMPs) which plays a secretary role in the neuronal synapse and was recently known as the biochemical target of botulinum neurotoxin type B. The structural gene of the synaptobrevin was cloned from mouse brain using RT-PCR technique and was seqrtenced. The deduced amino acid sequence showed that the synaptobrevin protein from mouse brain is exactly the same with that of the rat brain in the amino acid level. The synaptobrevin gene was subcloned into pET3a vector and expressed in E. coli. The molecular weight of the recombinant protein was 19 kDa as expected. Moreover, when the recombinant synaptobrevin protein was incubated with the native neurotoxin of Clostridium botulinum type B, it was cleaved by the toxin in a time dependent manner. This implies that the recombinant synaptobrevin protein and the native toxin are reacted in the same way as the native synaptobrevin did in the neuronal cells.

The study on the new measurement method of room acoustics is now in process in the ISO TC43/SC2/WG24 New standard(WD 18233) is dealing with the MLS, swept sinusoidal signal and impulse. This working group is composed of more than 20 specialists in 10 countries and the convener is professor J.H.Rindel in technical university of Denmark. The meeting of WG24 was held in the DIN, Berlin at 23rd. this september and the results was sent to the secretary of ISO TC43/SC2 for the circulation. The paper analyzes a copyright owning firm's incentive to enforce its copyright in the presence of file-sharing networks. I devise a two-period model where a copyright owner sells two different versions of a creator's information good, and show that the firm's overall profits are enhanced by a strategy of differential inter-temporal enforcement of the copyright protection, compared to strategies of no enforcement or full enforcement in both periods. If the firm enforces no copyright protection in the first period, the low-valuation consumers may make and consume copies that are imperfect substitutes for the original information good. If there is a significant increase in the willingness-to-pay of some low-valuation consumers after they experience the information good, the firm can extract the increased consumer surplus by enforcing a positive level of copyright protection in the second period. Social welfare, however, is maximized in the case of no enforcement.

This article presents a brief reconstruction of the historic journey of Benedict the Pole and John of Pian de Carpine, the first known Europeans after A.D. 900 who completed a successful return journey east of Baghdad and gave surviving accounts of their travels. The article, which focuses mainly on the role of Benedict the Pole, is divided into five parts: the reasons and organization of the deputation sent to the Mongols by Pope Innocent IV from 1245-1248, the route travelled by the Papal envoys, the existing versions of the two surviving accounts of the mission, the role of Benedict the Pole as the secretary and translator to the papal legate Pian de Carpine, and the outcome of the journey as seen from the perspective of Europe-Asia contacts.

최근 인터넷 및 정보 통신 기술이 급속하게 발달함에 따라서 네트워크를 기반으로 한 응용 소프트웨어 및 네트워크 관련 기술들이 많이 연구, 개발되고 있다. 이와 관련하여 과거 인공지능 분야에서 많이 연구되어 왔던 에이전트 기술이 최근의 네트워크 기술을 기반으로 하여 다시 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이러한 에이전트 기술을 이용하여 본 논문에서는 일반 비서업무 중에서 상사의 스케줄 관리를 대행할 수 있도록 하는 비서 에이전트 시스템 모델을 설계하고 그 구성 기법을 기술한다. 본 논문에서 기술하는 비서 에이전트 시스템은 3-tier 구조하에 각 비서 에이전트의 스케줄 자료 처리 및 이를 이용한 판단 능력을 효과적으로 분석하기 위해서 데이터베이스 시스템과 지식기반 시스템이 유기적으로 결합되어 운용된다.

This paper throws light on how ERP evolved, what makes up an ERP system and what it has to offer to the industries. The paper includes the role of ERP, perception of ERP value, ERP plan and direction. The author also argues checkpoints as a preview to ERP introduction.

This paper proposes a novel computer human interface, named Virtual Wireless Microphone (VWM), which utilizes computer vision and signal processing. It integrates real-time face tracking and sound signal processing. VWM is intended to be used as a speech signal input method for human computer interaction, especially for autonomous intelligent agent that interacts with humans like as digital secretary. Utilizing VWM, the agent can clearly listen human master's voice remotely as if a wireless microphone was put just in front of the master.

Signal peptides of secretary proteins interact with various membranes and non-membrane components during the translocation. We investigated the interaction of signal peptides of ribose binding protein (RBP) with Escherichia coli (E.coli) signal recognition particle (SRP), SecA and lipid bilayer. Previous studies showed that the functional signal peptides inhibit the GTPase activity of E.coli SRP which consisted of F로 and 4.5S RNA.(omitted)
