렘 콜하스 건축 디자인에서 과학주의의 표현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Expression of Scientism in Architectural Design of Rem Koolhaas)

  • Scientism is a kind of paradigm since the birth of Modernism. Architectural design was also effected from scientism in the 1st Machine age, and being effected still In the End Machine age. But many architects in the 2nd Machine age express scientism in architectural design as a "science for kick" as SF. The design of Rem Koolhaas follows the line of Modernism which was effected from scientism in many ways. However he shows modified machine aesthetics as SF pataphysics mixed with literary imagination, and now shows new science paradigm in post-modern age. He expresses many new science theory like indeterminacy theory, chaos, catastrophe theory in his works. And those are expressed as indeterminate program that proceeds in non-linear way, rhizome in space, order out of chaos, topological metamorphosis as a catastrophe. This study analyzes the expression of scientism in architectural design of Rem Koolhaas since 1970s.nce 1970s.

오윤의 말기(1984~86) 예술론에서의 현실과 전통 인식 - "미술적 상상력과 세계의 확대"에 대한 텍스트 검토 (Awareness of Reality and Tradition in Oh Yun's Theory of Arts during His Final Period(1984~86) - Review on the Text of "Expansion of Artistic Imagination and World")

  • An artist, Oh Yun(1946~86)'s theory of people's art during his final period is summed up in his essay 'Expansion of Artistic Imagination and World' (1985). Emphasizing the mystic and traditional characteristics of Oh Yun's artistic oeuvre during his final period, some critics focus on Oh Yun's experience of medical treatment and shamanistic custom at Jin Do island, and his belief in Jeung San Do, the dao of Jeung-san, the Ruler of the Universe. However, they forget the practical intention and implication of his theory of art during his final period, which aimed to overcome the contradiction of revelation itself. Oh Yun's essay criticized the loss of artistic imagination and the ignorance of traditional culture that resulted from the elevation of science to a religion, and insisted that the stereotyped idealism, scientism and elitism in art should be overcome in order to recover the full reality in realism and to continue traditional cultures. The essay is comprised of 18 paragraphs. Oh Yun criticized monochromatic art, conceptual art, hyper-realistic art, objet d'art, and neo-dadaist art, saying that they were simply mechanical forms of modern art derived from scientism and a fetishistic lens culture. In addition, he criticized naturalism in art, which had continued as a tendency in the development of western art, for the same reason. He pointed out that even the world of realism had been diminished by elite stereotypes and diagrams. He declared the need to overcome the imitation of shells or stereotyped propaganda, and recover full realism, which seems to have started with a reflective examination of current problems in 'Reality and Utterance', in which he participated. Especially, he thought that universality and the extension of full realism could be achieved by building on the views of traditional cultures, which is meaningful. This logic is same as the theory of epic theatre that Bertolt Brecht(1898~1956) has developed under the ancient Greek masque and Pieter Bruegel the Elder(1525~69)'s story-like picture style. The universality of realism and the extension of acquisition to include incantation art, rather than move toward incantation art, is what Oh Yun intended to propose in 'Artistic Imagination'. This attitude is same as Bertoh Brecht's aesthetic viewpoint in the 1930s. But regrettably, Oh Yun's style wording, which seems covert and far-sighted, is often misunderstood as 'mysticism'. In the flow of people's art in the 1980s, Oh Yun was a traditionalist in a narrow sense, and an realist in a broad sense. However, his critical mind, which comprehends tradition and reality, was attempting to expand universality and extend full realism, and this attempt found many sympathizers and had an influence on the next generation of people's artists, such as "Levee" which is field-centered, to which we should pay attention. This means that while their works thought about 'tradition', we should be careful not to connect them with 'aesthetic conservatism' or 'classical art'. This is the why the meaning of Oh Yun's theory of art during his final period should be closely examined again.

경영정보학의 학문적 위상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Scientific Status of MIS)

  • The inability of the management information systems (MIS) field to progress as a scientific discipline has been attributed to the lack of systematic research and a cumulative tradition, an identity crisis, and the poverty of scientism. While research on the status of MIS is very important in order to enhance the field as a scientific discipline, few have investigated this issue. Following Thomas Kuhn's idea of paradigm, this paper studies other fields to investigate when they progressed, when they did not, and why. After research paradigm was broken down into technology-push and demand-pull types, a model on the science life cycle was developed in an effort to explain the path how a science has progressed. A test of this model in the fields of physics and chemistry with an old historial background reveals that the scientific progress in the area of demand-pull is more desirable if this progress turns out to be in the right direction. An application of the model to the MIS field shows that the research paradigm in this field is mainly of technology-push. In order to shift this paradigm toward the demand-pull area, this paper suggests the research on the relationship among MIS subfields and the adoption of appropriate reference disciplines.

질적 연구를 위한 '교육학적 현상학'의 한계와 문제 (The Limits and Problems of 'Pedagogical Phenomenology' for Qualitative Research)

  • 본 연구는 국내의 교육학 분야에서 '현상학적 방법'을 활용하여 질적연구를 수행할 경우에 나타나는 연구자들의 한계와 문제를 구체적인 사례를 통해 제시해 보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 주지하다시피 '교육학적 현상학' 은 교육학 분야에서 현상학이나 현상학적 방법을 활용하여 연구를 수행하는 것으로서, 인간의 삶과 밀접한 교육의 문제를 과학주의나 실증주의의 접근방법이 아니라 그 문제 현상(사태) 자체에서 해명을 시도해보고자 하는 것이다. 그런데 국내 질적 연구자들에 의해 순수현상학(철학적 현상학)이 이러한 응용현상학(교육학적 현상학) 분야에 활용되면서 다양한 문제들이 나타나고 있다. 그 중에서 가장 대표적인 것이 바로 질적 연구의 논리를 구성하고 있는 현상학에 대한 연구자의 충분한 이해가 부족하다든가 아니면 지오르기(A. Giorgi)나 반 매넌(M. van Manen) 등 외국학자들의 연구절차나 기법들을 무조건적으로 수용하는 문제라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 '현상학적 방법'을 활용하여 질적 연구를 수행할 경우에, 연구자는 연구논리에 대한 충분한 이해를 전제로 하여 단순히 고정된 연구절차나 방법을 사용하는 것이 아니라 연구대상자에게서 나타나는 다양한 현상들을 연구자 자신의 삶과 결부시켜 그것의 본질을 분석하고 해석하는 통찰력이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.

  • 이 논문의 목적은 조지훈 시와 시론에 나타난 "자연"과 "우아미"의 관련 양상을 상세하게 규명하는 데 있다. 이러한 시도는 그의 시와 시론이 긴밀하게 상호 대응할 수밖에 없는 필연적인 이유와 근거를 해명하려는 것과 동일한 맥락을 지닌다. 조지훈 시의 중핵으로 기능하는 것은 "자연"의 새로운 예술적 형상화이며, 그것에 내장된 "근대" 극복의 비전이다. 이는 조지훈이 자신의 시론에서 자세하게 논의한 미의식의 범주 가운데서 "우아미"의 특질과 적확하게 부합한다. 그는 "서정시"가 근대과학이 초래한 진 선 미의 대립과 분열, 그리고 사회 각 영역들의 분화와 전문화에 따른 여러 폐단들을 극복할 수 있는 가능성을 내장하고 있다고 파악한다. 이러한 관점과 맥락은 시의 차원에서는 "자연"의 새로운 이미지를 조형하는 것으로 나타났으며, 시론의 차원에서는 "우아미"를 다른 범주의 미의식을 압도하는 탁월성을 함유한 것으로 규정하려는 시도를 낳았던 것으로 추론된다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the meaning of Rem Koolhaas's works focused on Villa Dall'Ava. This House which offers a fine example of the early architectural concepts of Rem Koolhaas was completed in 1991, 7 year earlier than the Maison Bordeaux and also this work is the only one house constructed in Paris. Rem Koolhaas, one of the most influential architects representing contemporary architecture in these days is interpreted so diversely as new constructivism, deconstruction and new scientism etc. The relationship between Modernism architecture and the architecture of Rem Koolhaas is supposed in various point of view in recent studies. Although the leading background on which the architectural inclination of Rem Koolhaas is de-constructivism, various interviews, editorials and other perspectives give clue that Rem Koolhaas was influenced by Modernism. His architectural concept is connected with the architectural principles of Le Corbusier: 'Five Points of a New Architecture' and 'Dom-ino system', which are especially applied a lot to Villa Dall'Ava in the modified form. This study is to research the architectural characteristics of Villa Dall'Ava by analyzing the layout, plan, elevation, section and structure, which revealed the architectural connectivity between the concept of Rem Koolhaas and the architectural principles of Le Corbusier which had a great effects on architectural history and became a fundamental elements for the change into the modern architecture. In practice, the architectural work of Rem Koolhaas remind the architectural principles of Le Corbusier. This research appraises each points of 'Five Points of a New Architecture' in regarding with Villa Dall'Ava whose study will be important to find the meaning of the works and ideas of Rem Koolhaas.

일제말기 근대비판 담론의 시간성 연구: 세계사·전통·비상시 (A Study of Temporality of a Critical Discourse on the Modern in the Late Japanese Colonial Period)

  • In the late Japanese colonial period, from the Sino-Japanese War until the Pacific War, critical discourses on the modern were prevalent in Japan and the Joseon. Despite the absence of a consensus about the specific definition of the modern, most thinkers agreed that the modern was something to be overcome. While some regarded naturalism and capitalism of the West as the essence of the modern, some others named scientism and humanism as the nature of the western modernity. Additionally, some criticized the temporal concept of historicism and brought new meanings of 'tradition' into relief, and some others advocated overcoming 'the West inherent in us'. This study is to consider the temporality of the theory of overcoming the modern focusing on the following three notions-world history, tradition, and emergency-, and examines the antinomy of them. The first notion to consider is 'world history'. The theorists of overcoming the modern, including the Kyoto school, discarded the progressive ideology that had led the Western modern history, and instead introduced 'world history' as a new notion. Although this resulted from the imperialistic embracement of the theories of Ranke, a major positivist historian from Germany, it contained antinomy of remaining in 'history' which was the modern temporal view. The second notion is 'tradition'. While the critical mind of 'world history' brought 'time of world' into question in the context of temporal realization, the notion of 'tradition' was to understand 'time of history' itself as the modern and overcome it. The critical mind of the notion involves the attempts to criticize regarding history as a 'progressive' process and to discover tradition as 'the present past' or 'the eternal present'. However, it also contained antinomy; the 'tradition' here was a notion that was created in the modern times, not passed down from ancient times. The third notion to consider is 'emergency', which was a method to define the present time as a transition period toward a new era, relating to states of war. However, the theorists of overcoming the modern did not regard 'emergency' as a particular time that strayed from normal states, instead they thought is as 'a regularized exceptional state', namely 'a state in which exceptions have become regulations'. However, the notion also contained antinomy since the word 'emergency' connotes abnormality.

칸트의 정언명법과 주자(朱子)의 도덕철학 (Kant's Categorical Imperative and Chu Hsi's Moral Philosophy)

  • 18세기의 칸트는 당시의 자연과학은 올바른 방법론의 정립으로 말미암아 눈부신 발전을 거듭하고 있지만, 형이상학(제일철학)은 엄밀한 학적 토대를 구축하지 못하여 '독단론'과 '회의론'이 전제하는 분쟁이 그치지 않은 싸움터에 불과하다고 인식하였다. 따라서 칸트는 엄밀한 이성의 자기비판을 통해 형이상학 및 인식의 가능성 문제를 제기하였으며, 이성의 월권적 사용에 의해 성립된 전래의 형이상학과 존재론은 선험철학으로 변형되어야 한다고 주장하였다. 나아가 그는 도덕의 형이상학을 정초하기 위한 세 가지 정식, 즉 1) 보편법칙의 정식, 2) 목적 자체의 정식, 그리고 3) 자율의 정식을 제시하였다. 보편법칙의 정식은 도덕 혹은 윤리학이 '상대주의' 혹은 '회의주의'에 빠지지 않게 하기 위한 필요요건이라고 할 수 있고, 목적 자체의 정식과 자율의 정식은 탈형이상학의 시대에 유일한 도덕의 원천이라고 할 수 있다. 이 점에 착안하여 주자의 도덕철학이 칸트의 이 정식을 어느 정도 충족시키고 있는 지를 논구함으로써 그 현대적 의의를 탐구하려고 하였다. 여기서 우리는 주자의 도덕철학 또한 보편성의 정식을 충족시키고 있으며, 나아가 그 도덕 주체 또한 그 자체 내에 도덕법칙과 그것을 실행할 수 있는 능력을 지니고 있는 목적 존재라는 것, 그리고 도덕법칙을 자각하고 자기정립(위기(爲己))을 통해 그 도덕 법칙에 자율적으로 따르는 존재라는 것을 제시하였다. 따아서 주자의 도덕철학은 여전히 형이상자인 리(理)에 의해 정당화되는 형이상학적 윤리학이라는 점에서 이른바 '물자체'에 불가지론의 입장에서 '구성주의'를 주장하는 칸트의 입장과 구별된다. 그리고 주자 도덕철학의 핵심개념인 리(개념상 초월이자 현실상 내재)의 형이상학은 전래의 '초월적 이원론'과 현대의 '물리일원론'을 비판하는 제3의 입장으로 새로운 도덕의 가능성을 제시해 줄 수 있다고 제안하였다.

Use of Multimedia Technologies in the Training of Physical Culture and Sports Specialists

  • Educational reform in Ukraine encourages the use of multimedia technologies in the training of specialists in Physical Education and Sports, which is one of the promising directions of education development. Therefore, the article specifies the content of the terms "innovation" and "technology". For modern society, the introduction of multimedia technologies in education is not so much theoretical as pragmatic, since under condition of globalization it concerns its historical development and prospects associated with the so-called "high technologies".Our goal is to improve the training of Physical Education and Sports specialists by means of multimedia technologies. All of innovative technologies can be divided into four groups, depending on the appropriate form of educational activity for their use. The development of multimedia technologies in the training of specialists in Physical Education and Sport at the present stage of education development should be carried out in accordance with the criteria of manufacturability, which are presented in the article: scientism, to rely on the theoretical provisions of pedagogical science and methods of teaching the discipline, socially recognized educational goals, prospects for modernization of Education; consistency, which provides for the interaction of parts and the whole in the organization of the study environment, as a result of which the physical development of the young generation is an integral entity; guarantee, that is, the error between the planned and obtained results should be minimal; manageability, that is, full management of the stages of work of the teacher and students, which make up the completed cycle of actions; mass participation, for the purpose of applying the technology does not depend on the physical training of students, the pedagogical skill of the teacher and the type of educational institutions. The article presents the theory and method of organizing sports events and circuses in the training of specialists in Physical Education and Sports by means of multimedia technologies. In order to increase the level of physical development of a person, physical fitness and the state of health of students, which has a clear trend to constant deterioration, it is necessary to instill love for sports, carry out high-quality training and organize sports events using multimedia technologies. In the process of sports activities, the participants' mental education is carried out. There are two types of communication here: direct and indirect, which are described in the article.In games and sports competitions, there are many opportunities for forming rules of collective behavior. The main issues of the organization of sports activities by means of multimedia technologies have been clarified. During sports competitions, the tasks presented in Physical Education and sports classes are improved, which ensure the improvement of physical and theoretical training of the individual. The pleasure of sports, bright, emotional spectacles, confirmed by multimedia technologies, arises from the participation of the viewer in them.
