Purpose: Meta-analysis of this study was to analyze the character of adolescent smoking cessation programs, to calculate the effect size according to variables and to compare the weighted mean effect sizes on adolescent smoking cessation programs in Korea. Methods: Twenty two studies for meta-analysis were selected from dissertations, theses, articles and research papers that had been published from 1995 to 2003. The selected studies had a randomized or nonequivalent control group in a pretest-post test design and had reported statistical value to calculate the effect size. Results: The mean number of sessions was 6.5. The education time per each session varied from 40 to 150 min and the most applied theories were Bandura's social-cognitive theory and the cognitive-behavioral theory. Smoking-knowledge, smoking-attitudes and smoking-amount showed high effects on the first post test after mediating adolescent smoking cessation programs according to the criteria of Cohen. The effect size of urine-cotinine found no homogeneity on the first post test, but it was significantly effective on the second post test. Conclusion: Adolescent smoking cessation programs analyzed in this study were relatively effective in smoking abstinence.
Hospital Management, as a branch of science, is now in a formative period in Korea. Proper understanding on the scienctific nature and issues of the subject, therefore, is important for both its developement and education of the students. As an academic subject, Hospital Management can be pointed out to have three characteristics, Firstly, when looking it in teleological viewpoint, it is a branch of health science. Ultimate goal of the hospital lies in promoting and keeping health of the people residing in the catchment area in which it places, Secondly, in terms of its contents, Hospital Management can be divided into tow subsubjects ; hospital administrative management and hospital business management. The former stands at the point of looking the hospital as the object of goverment administration, while the latter as the subject of organizational operation. Flanlly, Hospital Management, in its academic appoach, is a science that adopts management theories, what is called, traditional and/or modern. For the settlement and development of the Hospital Management, four major issues were suggested for discussion now and in the future. They include ; (1) boundary between Hospital Management and its related academic fields (2) subdivision of the subject and its contents, (3) activation of study, theortical and empirical, and (4) distinction of the level of lecture among lecfnical, four-year and gradudate courses.
This study encompassed the responses of 284 elementary school teachers, focusing on their teaching experiences, readiness, and needs for science education concerning the risk posed by science and technology. The key findings are summarized as follows. First, a significant portion of teachers lacked prior experience in addressing risks associated with science and technology within their science education practices. Second, a greater number of teachers were aware of the inclusion of risk-related content in the 2022 revised science curriculum's achievement standards than those who were not. Third, in terms of teachers' understanding of risk perception, risk assessment, and risk management, they demonstrated a relatively high level of understanding of risk perception but a lower level of understanding of risk assessment. Fourth, most teachers had not undergone any formal education or training related to risk. Fifth, among the 10 objectives of risk education, teachers displayed the highest competence in teaching "information use" and "action skills," while their lowest competence was observed in "interpreting probabilities" and "evaluating risk assessment." Sixth, a majority of teachers believe that it is important to teach about the risks posed by science and technology in school science classes, with "action skills," "information use," and "decision-making skills" being considered the most important and "action skills," "information use," and "influence of mass media" being regarded as the most urgent. However, teachers anticipated difficulties in addressing risk in school science classes, including a lack of relevant educational materials, a lack of understanding of teaching theories related to risk education, and the relationship between science curriculum content and achievement standards. Seventh, as a result of calculating the educational needs for each of the 10 goals of risk education, "influence of risk perception," "decision-making skills," "action skills," and "evaluate risk assessment" were the priority needs of elementary school teachers.

In this study, the direction and contents of public education to develop competencies that are in line with the 2022 revised curriculum and the paradigm of future education were sought, and a plan for reading education was prepared. A creative and cooperative problem-solving method and process as not only information literacy ability to read, select, and reconstruct information but also transformative competency to respond to uncertain future and diversified situations are important amid the complex, pluralistic and rapid development of information and communication technology It was intended to give an experience of exploring and communicating through reading in order to explore and derive it. Analyze the general outline and syllabus of the curriculum, international education project definitions and indicators, and organize academic theories and research to set the direction and goal of high school reading education, and organize creative and convergence class strategies and reading activities A library reading class model was developed. Accordingly, the class model was revised by applying the development research method, and the final model was developed by supplementing it through field application evaluation. In order to achieve the research purpose end, a two-round Delphi survey was conducted on 10 reading education and curriculum experts. The model modified through the Delphi survey was developed in the final school library convergence reading class model by demonstrating the class in the educational field and supplementing it through application evaluation.

Murai Kinzan was a disciple of the great Ko-bang scholar, Yoshimasu Todo(吉益東洞). He was born in a family of doctors, he helped his father's medical works and together made an institution of medical education. He wrote many medical books such as "Yakuchozokuhen(藥徵續編)", "Idonisen'nenganmokuhen(醫道二千年眼目編)" and "Hogyokusantei(方極刪定)". He followed Yoshimasu Todo's theories that "All disease comes from a single poison" and criticized scholars such as Yoshimasu Nangai(吉益南涯) for modifying the theories of his teacher, Yoshimasu Todo. He was also influenced by Kagawa Shuuan(香川修庵) through his father, and learned medicine from Yamawaki Touyou(山脇東洋) through letters. Under the influence of these great scholars, he pursued empirical and practical medicine based on his own experience using "Shanghanlun(傷寒論)" and "Jinguiyaolue(金匱要略)" for reference. In "Yakuchozokuhen" and "Yakuchozokuhenhuroku", Murai Kinzan maintained the main frame of "Yakucho(藥徵)", Yoshimasu Todo's work, discussing in 5 categories. Medicines that are used popularly were written in "Yakucho" and "Yakuchozokuhen", therefore those books were discussed in 5 categories. However, "Yakuchozokuhenhuroku" were discussed only in 1 ~ 3 categories.
Although the curator system of South Korea officially started in 2001, it has not taken root yet. Because most active curators do not have a certificate, concerned scholars are making efforts to complement and establish the curator system. Although there are currently numerous museums and art galleries that own a number of costumes and textiles in Korea, the number of curators who majored in the history of costume is very low. Despite the growing importance and the increase in costume-related exhibition than any other fields, this shortage of qualified curators resulted in the lack of specialty for the management and exhibition of past costumes. To solve this problem, there needs to be more hire for curators, in proportion to the possession and exhibition of costumes, who major in the history of costume. The history of costume must also be part of the curator test and be required even for the internship. And there must be education for curators who currently deal with costumes without having majored in the study of costume, history of costume students who want to become a costume-related curator in the future, and the general public. The contents for education must include the knowledge of artifacts, theories to enhance the management capacity, and practice in the museum.
Current up-to-date courses of study put emphasis on raising creative students. However, the cramming methods of teaching mathematics in the school seems far from the creativity and the number of students who feels mathematics difficult is increasing. To overcome this situation, the government proposed 'the mathematics education using storytelling', which leads to lots of developments of mathematics using serious game in many areas. However most of the current serious games couldn't do away with the deductive framework of mathematics, which makes it impossible to achieve the purpose of raising creative students. This is because existing mathematics serious games have not deeply contemplated many aspects such as the purpose and theories of teaching and teaching mathematics. Therefore, in order to overcome the limitations of cramming methods in existing mathematics educations, this research proposes the new method of developing serious game contents for elementary geometry that is useful to improve mathematical intuition, based on RME, the theory of teaching/learning mathematics.

Science teachers often suppose that students are able to know the symbolical meaning of graphs when they see the graphs. But such a assumption is not based on the firm theories but a mere image. And we need to search them for holding the abilities to construct and to interpret. In addition, unfortunately, many researchers show that they scarcely have the graphing skills. And then, The Test of Graphing in Science(TOGS) was administered to 535 7th to 12th graders, for we search them for holding the graphing abilities to some degree. Though the higher grade, the better score, they lack the first three among 9 objectives of TOGS which are scaling axes, assigning variables to the axes, using a best fit line, plotting points, translating a graph that displays the data, selecting the corresponding value for y(or x), interrelating/extrapolating graphs, describing the relationship between variables, interrelating the results of the two graphs. It was concluded from this that subjects' graph construction is lower than their graph interpretation in graph skills. It suggests that school science have a bias toward graph interpretation. This tendency represents more strikingly in the case of upper students in TOGS than the others'.

European integration processes have acted as a catalyst for the emergence of a new type of educational environment, which is characterized by competent flexibility of specialists. Therefore, the article focuses on professional training of teachers in the context of European integration processes using information technology and the search for innovative methods of training specialists. One of the educational priorities in Europe is to create a new model of a teacher who has an academic education, knows innovative methods, is able to perform functions and tasks efficiently and professionally, adequately, quickly and correctly respond to changes and innovations. The tasks facing education in the European dimension are formulated. The main trends in the education of teachers in modern Europe are described: the need to deepen and expand subject training programs in pedagogical institutions of Higher Education, which will allow autonomy of activity, awareness of responsibility for independent creative decisions, create favorable conditions for the development of professionalism through the use of Information Technology and the search for innovative methods of training specialists. At the present stage, various models of teacher training are being developed based on the University and practical concept using information technology and searching for innovative methods of training specialists. On this basis, two different theories of perception of teacher education were formed: as preparation of teachers for work throughout their professional career; as preparation for the first years of professional work, which is periodically repeated in the process of continuous professional training and improvement. Among the advantages that the use of Information Technology and the search for innovative methods of training specialists to implement the learning process, it is worth mentioning the following: simultaneous use of several channels of perception of the student or student in the learning process, thanks to which the integration of information processed by different sensory organs is achieved; the ability to simulate complex real experiments; visualization of abstract information by dynamic representation of processes, etc.

This study aims to explore patterns and characteristics of coordination between evidence and theories which were found in pre-service elementary teachers' writing for their science inquiry. Five science inquiry activities and a total of 115 writings of the participant teacher at the elementary teacher preparation university in Korea were collected and analyzed for this study. Based on the writing analyses there were found four types of coordination between the evidence and theory. We proposed four types as: Type 1-Consistency of evidence and theory; Type 2-Consistence of evidence and theory including more extension or elaboration of theory; Type 3-Inconsistence of evidence and theory Type 4-Inconsistence of evidence and theory followed by coordination of them. Firstly the findings indicated that the most to least frequent types were Type 1, Type 3, Type 2, and Type 4. The most frequent type was Type 1. It is interpreted that theory in the inquiry questions were frequently figured out by participants and they selected supporting evidence out of data found. There were rarely found relations between activity topics and frequencies of coordination types except in activity 1. The findings in this study will connect to the point of how students collaborate their previously owned knowledge with experiment planning, data analysis and interpretation and making of their own scientific claims.
