박판금속 성형공정에서의 블랭크 설계및 변형률 예측 (Blank Design and Strain Prediction in Sheete Metal Forming Process)

  • A new finite elemetn approach is introduced for direct prediction of bland shapes and strain distributions from desired final shapes in sheet metal forming. The approach deals with the geometric compatibility of finite elements, plastic deformation theory, minimization of plastic work with constraints, and a proper initial guess. The algorithm developed is applied to cylindrical cup drawing, square cup drawing, and fron fender forming to confirm its validity by demonstratin reasonable accurate numerical results of each problems. Rapid calculation with this algorithm enables easy determination of various process variables for design of sheet metal forming process.

  • This paper describes a solid modeling system based on a systematic description of techniques for analyzing and understanding on engineering drawings. Main stress is placed on clarifying the difference between the drawing understanding and the drawing recognition. The former, in which we feel major interest, is intrinsically a difficult problem because it inherent contains combinatorial search to require more than polynomial time. Actually, understanding drawings is regarded as a process to recover the information lost in projection 3-D objects to 2-D drawings. But, solid modeling by automatic understanding of the given drawings is one of the promising approach, which is described precisely in the text. Reviewing the studies performed so far, we summarize the future direction of the project and inevitable open problems left.

  • We propose a hardware accelerated voxelization method for various 3D object model such as surface models, solid models, and volumetric CSG models. The algorithm utilizes the stencil buffer that is one of modern Open히 graphics hardware features. The stencil buffer is originally used to restrict drawing to certain portions of the screen. The volumetric representations of given 3D objects are constructed slice-by-slice. For each slice, the algorithm restricts the drawing areas constructed inner region of 3D objects using the stencil buffer, and generates slices of the volumetric representation for target objects. As a result, we can provide volume graphics support for various engineering applications such as multi-axis machining simulation, collision detection and finite element analysis.

작은 생물을 연구하는 과학자에 대한 초등학생들의 인식 및 이미지 분석 (Perceptions and Image Analysis of Elementary Students on Scientists studying Small Organisms)

  • We investigated perceptions and image analysis on scientists studying small organisms reflected in elementary student's drawing using a modified version of the Drawing-A-Scientist-Test. The participants were 530 of fifth and sixth graders consisted of 449 ordinary students and 81 science gifted students. The data were collected from associated words, images and explanatory notes depicted by students engaged in questionnaires. The results indicated that a larger number of students reminded small sized animals and/or plants as words associated with small organisms. In addition, some students depicted anthropomorphic or abstract microorganisms. In this study, more stereotypes of scientists' appearance were exhibited at sixth graders and city region group. Most of the students depicted indicators such as lab coat, glasses, scientific instruments for observing, indoor, male and young, whereas only a few students depicted collaborative work. There was statistically significant difference between girls and boys, because boys perceived male scientists only, while half of girls depicted female. More frequent research instruments and scientific captions were used when science gifted students depicted scientists studying small organisms. These results could be contributed to education on microorganisms in elementary science.

나선 드로잉 기반 실시간 결정화 모자이크 기법 (Spiral Drawing-based Real-time Crystallization Mosaic Tchnique)

  • 과거 모자이크 기법은 바닥에 천을 깔고 타일을 수작업으로 붙여 제작하였다. 하지만 최근 기술의 발달로 데이터 저장 방식이 아날로그에서 디지털로 발전하여 컴퓨터를 통한 이미지 표현과 변환이 가능해지며 모자이크의 표현 기법 또한 다양하게 발전하고, 디지털로의 예술표현 방식으로도 사용되어지며 공학 분야에서도 그 제작 과정에 대한 연구들이 다양하다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 기법은 나선형으로 실시간 퍼져나가는 결정화(Crystallization)모자이크로 타일요소는 3D석영(Crystal)을 사용한다. 기존 연구들은 대체로 이미지를 좀 더 세밀하게 묘사하기 위함이 연구 목적의 주를 이루고 있지만 본 기법은 시도되지 않았던 나선 드로잉과 결정화를 접목하고 3D 공간에서의 새로운 모자이크 방식을 시도 한다. 또한 제안하는 기법의 대한 검증과 이를 기반으로 게임으로의 발전방향에 대해 모색한다. 본 기법을 바탕으로 제작된 작품 'Spiral Crystallization Photo' 는 MWU Award'18에서 Top27에 선정되었으며 Unite Seoul 2018에서 전시 되었다.

  • The effects of annealing temperature and time on mechanical properties and microstructures were investigated in cold drawn pearlitic steel wires. During annealing, the increment of the tensile strength at low temperatures found to be due to age hardening, while the decrease in the tensile strength at high temperatures was attributed to age softening, involving the spheroidization of lamellar cementite and recovery of lamellar ferrite. Since tensile strength and the occurrence of the delamination would be closely related to the dissolution of cementite, the lower annealing temperature and the increase of drawing strain caused the higher tensile strength and the easier occurrence of the delamination in cold drawn pearlitic steel wires.
