Advanced Time-Cost Trade-Off Model using Mixed Integer Programming (혼합정수 프로그래밍 기법을 이용한 진보된 Time-Cost Trade-Off Model)

  • Time-Cost Trade-Off (TCTO) model is an important model in the construction project planning and control area. Two types of Existing TCTO model, continuous and discrete TCTO model, have been developed by researchers. However, Using only one type of model has a limitation to represent a realistic crash scenario of activities in the project. Thus, this paper presents a comprehensive TCTO model that combines a continuous and discrete model. Additional advanced features for non-linear relationship, incentive, and liquidated damage are included in the TCTO model. These features make the proposed model more applicable to the construction project. One CPM network with 6 activities is used to explain the proposed model. The model found an optimal schedule for the example to satisfy all the constraints. The results show that new model can represent more flexible crash scenario in TCTO model.

  • This paper presents a systematic approach which determines the optimal period to minimize performance measure subject to the schedulability constraints of a real-time control system by formulating the scheduling problem as an optimal problem. The performance measure is derived from the summation of end-to-end response times of processed I/Os scheduled by the static cyclic method. The schedulability constraint is specified in terms of allowable resource utilization. At first, a uniprocessor case is considered and then it is extended to a distributed system connected through a communication link, local-inter network, UN. This approach is applied to the design of an automotive body control system in order to validate the feasibility through a real example. By using the approach, a set of optimal periods can easily be obtained without complex and advanced methods such as branch and bound (B&B) or simulated annealing.

  • Renewable energy resources such as wind, wave, solar, micro hydro, tidal and biomass etc. are becoming importance stage by stage because of considering effect of the environment. Solar energy is one of the most successful sources of renewable energy for the production of electrical energy following solar energy. And, the solar/photovoltaic cell generators depend on the solar radiation, which is a random variable so this poses difficulty in the system scheduling and energy dispatching, as the schedule of the photovoltaic cell generators availability is not known in advance. This paper proposes to use the two-layered artificial neural networks for predicting the actual solar radiation from the previous values of the same variable.

  • Load capacity varies according to a day of the week in traction power supply system, because time schedule in railway is changed as demand for passengers and freights. Therefore, Voltage drop also varies as load capacity. In Korea railway, Voltage collected from catenary in train is decreased, as load supplied traction power supply system is increased. Therefore, investigation about voltage drop should be performed, before development of countermeasure against voltage drop. The investigation can be performed by simulation or field test. Naturally, field test is more precise than simulation. In addition, field test should be carried out at peak load. This paper presents test and analysis about voltage drop in railway. The test is performed in both a day of the week and weekend. The analysis is figured out comparison load capacity between two days and voltage drop across terminal.

  • At an integrated steel mill, raw materials such as coal and iron ore are discharged by ships through multiple unloaders. The discharged raw material is then transported to storage yards through multiple routes established simultaneously on a fairly complicated belt conveyer network. Formulating an efficient unloading schedule is a quite cumbersome task due to the insufficient number of berths and unloaders as well as the potential conflict among routes being used simultaneously. In this paper, we propose a solution approach to the scheduling problem and describe the prototype system that we built as an implementation of our approach.

  • The network representation and branch and bound algorithm with efficient lower and upper bounding procedures are developed to determine a global optimal production schedule on a machine that minimizes sequence-dependent setup cost and earliness/tardiness penalties. Lower bounds are obtained based on heuristic and Lagrangian relaxation. Priority dispatching rule with local improvement procedure is used to derive an initial upper bound. Two dominance criteria are incorporated in a branch and bound procedure to reduce the search space and enhance computational efficiency. The computational results indicate that the proposed procedure could optimally solve the problem with up to 40 jobs in a reasonable time using a personal computer.

  • 본 논문에서는 휴면 지연에 의한 전송지연을 줄이는 효과적인 방법으로 staggered schedule 방식에 기반하여 동작하는 SPEED-MAC 프로토콜을 제안하고자 한다. SPEED-MAC은 이벤트 발생에 따른 정보를 발생사실과 세부정보로 나누어 각각 이벤트 공지 구간과 데이터 전송 구간에 싱크 노드로 전송함으로써 이벤트 발생 사실을 싱크 노드에게 최단시간에 전송할 수 있다. 또한 제어 패킷의 오버헤드를 줄이기 위해 이벤트 공지 구간에서 signal 패킷을 사용함으로써 데이터 패킷을 전송할 때 발생 가능한 충돌을 예측하였고 제어 패킷을 동적으로 사용하여 노드의 에너지 효율성을 추가로 개선할 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 SPEED-MAC을 MICA MOTE에서 구현하였으며 기존의 MAC 프로토콜에 비하여 메시지 전송 지연시간을 대폭 단축시킬 수 있었으며 또한 저 전력을 구현할 수 있는 것을 확인하였다.

Fair Scheduling for Throughput Improvement in Wireless Mesh Networks

  • Throughput improvement problem in wireless mesh network can be alleviated by equipped mesh router with multiple radios tuned into orthogonal channels. However, some links on the same channel also can be activated concurrently if the Signal-to-Noise and Interference Ratio (SNIR) at their receiver endpoints is not lower than the threshold. We propose a greedy algorithm to investigate the problem of how to schedule a set of feasible transmission under physical interference model by using the spatial time-division multiple-access (STDMA) scheme. We also consider the fairness in scheduling to prevent some border nodes from starvation. We evaluate our algorithms through extensive simulation and the results show that our algorithms can achieve better aggregate throughput and fairness performance than 802.11 standard.

  • 본 논문은 에드 혹 네트워크(Ad hoc network)에서 각 노드는 베터리 기반의 한정된 에너지로 동작 하기 때문에 에너지 효율을 높이기 위한 다양한 라우팅 알고리즘이 연구되고 있다. 에드 혹 네트워크는 많은 수의 노드들이 거리 등의 상호 속성 정보에 의한 노드의 관리 기법에 따라 노드의 에너지를 관리해야 한다. 또한 주어진 망에서 관리 노드 또는 중계 노드 등의 동작 불가능한상태가 되었을 경우 라우팅 경로가 끊어짐으로서 통신이 불가능한 상태가 되는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 트리망에서 중계 노드로 사용되는 클러스터 헤드 노드가 동작 불가능한 상태가 되었을 경우, 노드의 위치정보를 이용하여 새로운 헤드 노드를 선출하는 ECOPS(Energy conserving Optimal Path Schedule) 알고리즘을 제안 하였다. 특히 제한된 ECOPS 알고리즘을 이용함으로 노드에 대한 라이프타임을 향상 시키고 전체 라우팅 경로가 오랜 시간 동안 지속되는 결과를 보여 주었다.

A Study on the Reliability Evaluation for Inchon International Airport Distribution System (인천국제공항 배전계통의 신뢰도 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study is focused on the reliability evaluation for distribution system based on deterministic evaluation technique. Average failure rates, average outage time, and average annual outage time of electrical parts and load points are calculated through network reduction method and failure mode & effective analysis method. And reliability indices of distribution system are calculated. Finally, by employing analytic hierarchy process method, unique index which evaluates and improves the distribution system is calculated. As a result, finding weak points and expansion schedule of the system is possible. The usefulness of this method is verified by applying it to the Inchon International Airport.
