  • Gradual scene change detection is known as more difficult problem then abrupt scene change detection on video data analysis for contents based retrieval. In this paper, we present a new method for scene change detection far both abrupt and gradual change using the variable dynamic threshold arid cut frame difference (CFD). For this, We present the characteristics arid mathematical models of gradual transitions anti then, how can be detected by the CFD. And also we present new scene change detection algorithm based on cut frame difference. By the experimental result using real world video data indicate that the proposed method detect various scene changes both abrupt and gradual change efficiently without time-consuming computation and any dependency on a kind of gradual change effects.

  • General scene change detection determines the changes of a scene by using feature comparison of two continuous images that are above the fixed threshold. But existing algerian detects scene change that was used in comparing the features of two images continuously, it usually takes a lot of time in decrypting the image data and false-detection problem occurs when there is an object motion or a change of illumination. In this paper, macroblock were used to extract the information directly from the MPEG compression area and suggests algorithm that will detect scene changes more effectively. Existing algorithm have shown numerous arithmetic problems that were improved in the proposed algorithm. The existing algorithm cannot detect the changes of a scene after analyzing the relationship of the previousand futureimages while the algorithm being proposed can detect the changes of a scene continuously and resolves the problem of false-detection. To this end, the data used in general were tested to prove that this algerian would be able to detect the scene changes faster and more correctly than the existing ones. The performance of the suggested algorithm was analyzed basedontheresultsoftheexperiment. .

  • In this paper. we propose the method of Scene Change Detection for video sequence using the DC components and the moving vectors in the Macro Blocks in the DCT blocks. The proposed method detects the Scene Change which would not be related with the specific sequences in the compressed MPEG domain. To do this. we define new metrics for Scene Change Detection using the features of picture component and detect the exact Scene Change point of B-pictures using the characteristics of B-picture's sharp response for the moving vectors. In brief, we will detect the cut point using I-picture and the gradual scene changes such as dissolve, fade, wipe, etc. As a results, our proposed method shows good test results for the various MPEG sequences.

  • The study on scene change detection in the compressed MPEG videos has been done by various approaches. However, most of these approacher accomplished scene change detection by carrying out decoding processes and then by comparing pixels with pixels. This approach it not suitable for real time applications owing to much computing time of decoding processes. Recently, the study on scene change detection algorithms using only information of compressed domain is becoming Increasingly important. In this paper, we propose a sequential access method as an efficient scene change detection algorithm in the compressed domain. According to the type of pictures in the compressed MPEG video streams (divided in I-blocks and each I-block into P-blocks), the proposed algorithm provides effective scene change detection by applying sequential access and block by block mechanism. The proposed sequential access method provides fast and accurate detection operation by reducing checking procedures of unnecessary pictures due to molt of operations in compressed domain and checking by block units. Also, this approach uses optimal algorithm to provide fast and accurate detection operation.

  • Scene change detection algorithm, which is very important preprocessing technique for video indexing and retrieval and determines the performance of video database system, is being studied widely. In this paper, we propose a more effective abrupt scene change detection, which is robust to large motion, sudden change of light and successive abrupt shot transitions rapidly. And we also propose a new gradual scene change detection algorithm, which can detect dissolve, and fade in/out precisely. Furthermore, we also propose a representative frame extraction algorithm which performs content-based video summary by novel DCT DC image buffering technique and accumulative histogram intersection measure (AHIM).

  • The decrease of visual quality at scene change occurs when the difference between the amount of target bits and actual coding is high. Especially, scene change at the P-Picture can lead to severely degrade visual qualities at itself and the pictures referencing it. In this paper, under the occurrence of scene change, we propose a new method, based on the analysis of existing inaccurate bits allocation, to improve the visual qualities of scene-changed and following pictures. The method allocates extra bits to scene-changed Picture and changes them upto the level of the complexity of intra picture. Also, the method changes target bits of following pictures upto the complexity of picture prior to the scene change. Computer simulation shows that the proposed method has improved 0.5-1.2dB higher than TM5 method in terms of PSNR.

  • The bit rate control algorithm which is capable of handing scene change is proposed. In MPEG-2 TM5, block variance is used to measure block activity. But block variance is not consistent with human visual system and does not differenciate the distribution of pixel values within the block. In target bit allocation process of TM5, global complexity, obtained by results of previous coded pictures, is used. Since I pictures are spaced relatively far apart, their complexity estimate is not very accurate. In the proposed algorithm local variance is used to measure block activity and detect scene change. Local variance, using deviation from the mean of neighboring pixels, well represents the distribution of pixel values within the block. If scene change is detected, the local variance information is used for target bit allocation process. Allocating target bits for I picture, the average local variance difference between previous and current I picture is considered. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can detect scene change very precisely and gives better picture quality and higher PSNR values than MPEG-2 TM5.

  • Performance of a video browser greatly depends on the performance of scene change detection for the efficient retrieval and storage of the video contents which are major data in a current contents management system. In this paper we propose a new scene change detection method using Mean Difference Histogram of each frame section which improves accuracy of scene change detection as well as reduces the frequency of miss detection and fault detection of gradual scene change which is one of critical problem of the conventional histogram-based techniques.

  • This paper proposes a new scene boundary detection scheme for the MPEG System stream using MPEG Audio information and proves its usefulness by extensive experiments. A scene boundary has a characteristic that the audio as well as video information are changed rapidly. This paper first classifies this scene boundary into three cases ; Radical, Gradual, Micro Changes, with respect to the audio changes. The Radical change has a large-scale changing of decibel value and pitch value at a scene boundary, the Gradual change shows the long-time transition of decibel and pitch values from max to min or vice versa, and the Micro change displays a some change of pitch or frequency distribution without decibel changes. Upon this analysis, a new scene change detection algorithm detecting these three cases is proposed in which a progressive window with a time line is used to trace the changes in the audio information. Some experiments with various movies show that proposed algorithm could produce a high detection ratio for Radical change that is the most popular scene change in the movies, while producing a moderate detection ratio for Gradual and Micro changes. The proposed scene boundary detection scheme could be used to build a database for visual information like MPEG System stream.

Extraction method detect difference value using modified color-$X^2$-test and it was normalized. Next, we find frames that has occurred scene change in successive frames using the four-step algorithm of scene change detection. Finally, we present the method of smoking image retrieval and extraction in stored large amount of video.
