Quantum computing is regarded as one of the revolutionary computing technologies, and has attracted considerable attention in various fields, such as finance, chemistry, and medicine. One of the promising candidates to realize fault tolerant quantum computing is quantum dot qubits, due to their expectation of high scalability. In this study, we briefly introduce the international tendencies for quantum dot quantum computing. First, the current status of quantum dot gate operations is summarized. In most systems, over 99% of single qubit gate operation is realized, and controlled-not and controlled-phase gates as 2-qubit entangling gates are demonstrated in quantum dots. Second, several approaches to expand the number of qubits are introduced, such as 1D and 2D arrays and long-range interaction. Finally, the current quantum dot systems are evaluated for conducting quantum computing in terms of their number of qubits and gate accuracies. Quantum dot quantum computing is expected to implement scalable quantum computing. In the noisy intermediate-scale quantum era, quantum computing will expand its applications, enabling upcoming questions such as a fault-tolerant quantum computing architecture and error correction scheme to be addressed.

Recent research on synaptic devices has been reviewed from the perspective of hardware-based neuromorphic computing. In addition, the backgrounds of neuromorphic computing and two training methods for hardware-based neuromorphic computing are described in detail. Moreover, two types of memristor- and CMOS-based synaptic devices were compared in terms of both the required performance metrics and low-power applications. Based on a review of recent studies, additional power-scalable synaptic devices such as tunnel field-effect transistors are suggested for a plausible candidate for neuromorphic applications.

Cloud computing platform is a shared pool of resources and services with various kind of models delivered to the customers through the Internet. The methods include an on-demand dynamically-scalable form charged using a pay-per-use model. The main problem with this model is the allocation of resource in dynamic. In this paper, we have proposed a mechanism to optimize the resource provisioning task by reducing the job completion time while, minimizing the associated cost. We present the Cooperative Agents Dynamic Resource Allocation and Monitoring in Cloud Computing CADRAM system, which includes more than one agent in order to manage and observe resource provided by the service provider while considering the Clients' quality of service (QoS) requirements as defined in the service-level agreement (SLA). Moreover, CADRAM contains a new Virtual Machine (VM) selection algorithm called the Node Failure Discovery (NFD) algorithm. The performance of the CADRAM system is evaluated using the CloudSim tool. The results illustrated that CADRAM system increases resource utilization and decreases power consumption while avoiding SLA violations.
With the rapid evolution of quantum computing, digital quantum simulations are essential for quantum algorithm verification, quantum error analysis, and new quantum applications. However, the exponential increase in memory overhead and operation time is challenging issues that have not been solved for years. We propose a novel approach that provides more qubits and faster quantum operations with smaller memory than before. Our method selectively tracks realized quantum states using a reduced quantum state representation scheme instead of loading the entire quantum states into memory. This method dramatically reduces memory space ensuring fast quantum computations without compromising the global quantum states. Furthermore, our empirical evaluation reveals that our proposed idea outperforms traditional methods for various algorithms. We verified that the Grover algorithm supports up to 55 qubits and the surface code algorithm supports up to 85 qubits in 512 GB memory on a single computational node, which is against the previous studies that support only between 35 qubits and 49 qubits.
The rapid growth of sense-and-respond applications and the emerging cloud computing model present a new challenge: providing publish/subscribe middleware as a scalable and elastic cloud service. The publish/subscribe interaction model is a promising solution for scalable data dissemination over wide-area networks. In addition, there have been some work on the publish/subscribe messaging paradigm that guarantees reliability and availability in the face of node and link failures. These publish/subscribe systems are commonly used in information-centric networks and edge-fog-cloud infrastructures for IoT. The IoT has an edge-fog cloud infrastructure to efficiently process massive amounts of sensing data collected from the surrounding environment. In this paper. we propose a quorum-based hierarchical fault-tolerant publish/subscribe systems (QHFPS) to enable reliable delivery of messages in the presence of link and node failures. The QHFPS efficiently distributes IoT messages to the publish/subscribe brokers in fog overlay layers on the basis of proposing extended stepped grid (xS-grid) quorum for providing tolerance when faced with node failures and network partitions. We evaluate the performance of QHFPS in three aspects: number of transmitted Pub/Sub messages, average subscription delay, and subscritpion delivery rate with an analytical model.
