수직자기기록매체 CoCrMo 박막의 구조와 자기적 성질 (Structural and Magnetic Properties of perpendicular Recording Medium CoCrMo thin Film)

  • Structural and magnetic properties of Co-Cr-Mo films were investigated in connection with sputtering conditions. Films were prepared using a convention RF sputtering system. X-ray diffractometry, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy were employed to investigate structure properties. Vibrating sample magnetometry was used for coercivity and saturation magnetization measurements. Co-Cr-Mo films displayed reasonable values of perpendicular coercivity and saturation magnetization for perpendicular recording media and showed good perpendicular orientation of the hcp c-axis to the film surface. Perpendicular coercivity was strongly dependent upon substrate technique showed better c-axis orientation than hose using the stationary substrate. Co-Cr-Mo films of 2.9 at. % Mo content showed maximum perpendicular coercivity and saturation magnetization. The films deposited at lower Ar pressure showed good magnetic properties. There was no explicit relationship between the columnar structure and c-axis orientation. Co-Cr-Mo films was found to have suitable structural and magnetic properties for perpendicular recording media.

  • The substituted lithium ferrites combine useful ferromagnetic properties with high Curie temperature ranging from 55$0^{\circ}C$ to 85$0^{\circ}C$, [1] high saturation magnetization, [2] and low microwave dielectric loss.[3] Saturation magnetization of (Z $n_{1-x}$ F $e_{x}$)A[L $i_{0.5x}$F $e_{ 2-0.5x}$]$_{B}$ $O_4$ increased with zinc concentration, followed by a decrease at x = 0.7.[4] This is attributed to a dilution of the A-site with zinc which initially causes an increase in saturation magnetization due to the dominance of the B-site. Co-22%Cr 자성합금박막에서 박막두계에 따른 자기미세구조 변화 (The change of magnetic microstructure with Co-22%Cr film thicknesses)

  • We investigated compositional separation of Co-23%Cr magnetic alloy thin films with varying film thicknesses. Saturation magnetization and magnetic microstructures were investigated using vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and scanning probe microscope (SPM), respectively. Saturation magnetization was as 700 emu/cc for films below 50 nm-thick, and changed to 430 emu/cc for the ones above 2000 nm-thick. This may be due to increment of molar volume of Cr-enriched phase as film thickness increases. The surface grain size in AFM (atomic force microscope) measurement becomes larger as film thickness increases. The MFM (magnetic force microscope) reveals that magnetic microstructure is changed from the fine spherical domains to the maze type domains as film thickness increases. We conclude that employing thickness of Co-22%Cr films below 50 nm is favorable for high density recording in order to enhance perpendicular saturation magnetization and SNR (signal to noise ratio).

잔류자화비를 이용한 운석의 자성광물 판별 (Magnetic Mineral Identification in Meteorites)

  • 운석은 모암인 소행성(asteroid)이나 미세소행성(planetesimal)에서 충돌에 의해 분리된 후, 태양계 내의 공간을 배회하다가 지구의 중력에 이끌려 지표에 떨어진 후 수집된 돌덩이다. 따라서 생성 초기의 지구를 포함하는 태양계 내 지구형 행성의 생성 초기와 진화과정을 규명하려면 원시 태양계의 정보를 간직하고 있는 운석의 물리/화학적 분석이 반드시 필요하다. 특히 열잔류자화(thermoremanent magnetization, TRM) 대비 포화등온잔류자화(saturation isothermal remanent magnetization, SIRM)의 비율과 자화를 유도하는 자기장 강도의 상관관계를 이용하면 운석이 함유하는 자성광물을 판별할 수 있다. TRM/SIRM 비를 이용하여 2종류의 미분화운석(H5 Richardton, LL6 St. Severin)과 2종류의 화성기원 분화운석(ALH84001, DaG476)에 대해 자성광물 판별을 시도하였다. 실험 결과 H5 Richardton, LL6 St. Severin, ALH84001, DaG476의 주 자성광물이 각각 카마사이트, 테트라테나이트, 자철석, 크롬티탄함유철석임을 판별하였다.

The Effect of Boronizing on the Magnetization Behaviour of Low Carbon Microalloyed Steels

  • The change of saturation magnetization in boronized low carbon microalloyed steels was investigated as a function of boronizing time. Specimens were boronized in an electrical resistance furnace for times ranging from 3 to 9 h at 1123 K. The metallurgical and magnetic properties of the specimens were investigated using optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM). A boride layer with saw-tooth morphology consisting of FeB and $Fe_2B$ was observed on the surface, its thickness ranged from 63 ${\mu}m$ to 140 ${\mu}m$ depending on the boronizing time. XRD confirmed the presence of $Fe_2B$ and FeB on the surface. The saturation magnetization decreased with increasing boronizing time. This decrease was attributed to the increased thickness of the FeB and $Fe_2B$ phases. Cracks were observed at the FeB/$Fe_2B$ interfaces of the samples. The number of interfacial cracks increased with increasing boronizing time.

증착 Power의 세기와 시간에 따른 Fe-N 박막의 구조와 자성 특성 (A Study on Structure and Magnetic Properties of Fe-N Thin Films with Different DC Magnetron Sputtering Power and Time)

  • Due to the high saturation magnetization (~2.4 T), $Fe_{16}N_2$ is interesting for the thin film application such as an actuator, data record storage and sensor etc. In this study, Fe-N thin films were deposited on Si(001) substrate with various power and deposition time by DC magnetron sputtering, in order to get high portion of $Fe_{16}N_2$ phase. Surface morphology, phase formation and magnetic properties were measured. As a result, Saturation magnetization and Remanence magnetization reach to ~2.45 T and 1.41T. But, Coercivity was not enough in this experiments. Its value lower than 100 Oe. Which is very close to theoretical value.

단일·이중소자를 이용한 자기결합 초전도 한류기의 자화특성 및 누적에너지 비교분석 (Comparative Analysis on Magnetization Characteristics and Stored Energy of Magnetically Coupled SFCLs Using Single and Double HTSC Elements)

  • In this paper, the magnetization characteristics and the stored energy of magnetically coupled superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL)s using single and double high-Tc superconducting (HTSC) elements were compared. To analyze the magnetization characteristics and the stored energy, the magnetizing current and the flux linkage, which were derived from the electrical equivalent circuit of the SFCL using single and double HTSC elements, were calculated from the voltages and the current measured in the short-circuit tests. Through the comparative analysis on the magnetization characteristics and the stored energy for SFCL using sing and double HTSC elements, the magnetically coupled SFCL using double HTSC elements was shown to be more effective than the SFCL using single HTSC element from the point of view of the magnetic saturation.

Mg-Mn훼라이트의 비자성 이온첨가에 의한 포화자화 감소효과 (A Study on the Effect of Reducing the Saturation Magnetization by Substituting the Non magnetic Ion in Mg Mn Ferrites)

  • 마이크로웨이브 Mg-Mn훼라이트에서 비자성 이온인 알루미늄으로 Fe 이온을 치환하여 포화자화를 낮출 수 있다. 이것은 마이크로웨이브 훼라이트의 사용 주파수 영역의 확장을 위해 필요하다. 이때 다른 특성의 변화가 수반되는 것은 검토해 봐야 할 점중의 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 MgO: MnO : $Fe_2O_3$를 1.0:0.1:0.95몰비로 제조한 마이크로 웨이브 훼라이트[화학식:$(MgO)_{1.0}(MnO)_{0.1}(Al_xFe_{1.9-x}O_{2.85}$]에서 AI을 0.1에서 0.4까지 첨가한 경우의 전기적.자기적 특성을 미세조직과 아울러 조사하였다. 포화자화 값은 첨가량에 따라 감소하였으며 강자성공명 선폭도 마찬가지였다. $H_c$ 값은 첨가량 0.2이상에서 103.48A/m(1.3Oe)이하로 나타났으며 각형비는 모두 우수하였다. 공명자기장은 첨가량에 따라 거의 변화가 없었다. 이상고 같은 실험결과로부터 적절한 조성범위에서 각각의 물성을 조합하여 넓은 범위의 마이크로웨이브 소자에 응용할 수 있는 제반 물성을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • As the increasing of non-linear load, filter is coming to be high gradually in order to reduce the harmonic which occurs from the power conversion. The maintenance of passive filter is easier than active filter and it has been widely used in the industrial site. This passive filter is connected with condenser and reactor by series and parallel and it is installed at the front of nonlinear load. The breakdown of passive filter occurs frequently at the reactor side rather than capacitor. So the breakdown cause close examination is necessary. In this paper, we analyzed that the electric stress of reactor which is considered magnetization saturation at the passive filter. We confirm that the reduction of harmonics and the electric stress of reactor is influenced by the linear and non-linear element of reactor.

  • In this paper, we compared the characteristic of fault current liminting in the magnetic shielding type High-Tc superconducting fault current limiter(FCL) using both Piecewise linear magnetization curve and real magnetization one of iron core. From this paper, the characteristics of fault current limiting in both cases showed many differences. The latter has higher fault current than the former, because the saturation of iron core was reflected and more accumulated during fault. It is expected that the more exact characteristic of magnetic shielding type High-Tc superconducting FCL was obtained in the case of design and modeling.
