시뮬레이티드 어닐링을 이용한 제궤도 위성망에서의 링크할당 (Link Assignment in Low-Earth Orbit Satellite Networks using Simulated Annealing)

  • 본 논문은 위성간 링크를 이용하여 저궤도 위성망을 구성할 때 발생하는 링크 할당 문제를 효율적으로 풀기 위한 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 먼저 위성 궤도 운동의 주기성에 기반하여 저 궤도 위성망을 유한 상태기계로 모델링한 후에, 유한 상태기계의 각 상태에서 최적의 링크 할당을 구하기 위해서 조합형 최적화 문제에 많이 쓰이는 시뮬레이티드 어닐링을 이용한다. 제안된 기법의 잇점은 저궤도 위성망을 유한 상태기계로 모델링함으로써 동적인 움직임을 보이는 저궤도 위성망에서의 링크할당 문제를 고정된 위상을 가지는 망에서의 링크할당 문제로 단순화 시키고 이를 토대로 최적화 기법을 적용할 수 있다는 것이다. 시뮬레이티드 어닐링에 의하여 최적화된 링크할당의 성능은 정규링크 할당과의 비교.분석을 통해서 평가된다. 또한, 각 링크할당에 대하여 정적경로배정과 동적경로배정 기법이 적용된다. 시뮬레이션을 통한 실험결과는 정적경로배정을 적용한 최적링크할당 기법이 음성호의 봉쇄확률 측면에서 최고의 성능을 보임을 알려준다.

QoE-Aware Mobility Management Scheme

  • In this paper, we introduce a quality of experience (QoE)-provisioning mobility management scheme. The emphasis is on a mobility-aware QoE solution enabling network components to recognize the mobility pattern of an end-user and to prepare a handover in advance. We further focus on an energy-adaptive QoE solution based on the energy profile providing the preferred pattern of energy consumption and an energy preference check engine determining whether the provision of the service that the end-user requested is suitable to QoE or not. Lastly, we concentrate on a network-based intelligent mobility management scheme adopting the calm service and the balance. Consequently, we conclude that the proposed schemes improve the handover latency, QoE metrics, and energy efficiency simultaneously.

  • 최근 우리나라에서는 위성측위시스템의 보급에 따라 측지분야에서 뿐만 아니라 지적 및 GIS/LIS 데이터베이스 관리분야에서도 그 활용성이 커지고 있으며, 지구중심좌표계(geocentric coordinate system)에 대한 관심도 높아지고 있다. 이 논문에서는 현행의 측지기준계를 분석하여 지구중심좌표계에 의한 새로운 측지기준좌표계(geodetic reference frame)의 설정방안을 고찰하였고, 이에 따른 국가기준점망의 구축방법과 기존의 좌표체계에서 새로운 좌표체계로 변경하고자할 경우에 고려되어야 할 기준점관리와 성과관리 등에 대하여 고찰하였다.

  • GPS is the global Navigation Satellite System which is developed by the United States Department of Defense as an abbreviation of the Global Positioning System. The GPS uses a constellation of 24 Medium Earth Orbit satellites that transmit precise microwave signals, that enable GPS receivers to determine their location, speed, direction, and time. Following, the shooting down of Korean Air Lines Flight 007 in 1983. President Ronald Reagan issued a directive making the system available free for civilian use as a common good. Since then, GPS has become a widely used aid to navigation worldwide, and a useful tool for map-making, land surveying, commerce, scientific uses, and hobbies such as geocaching. GPS also provides a precise time reference used in many applications including scientific study of earthquakes, and synchronization of telecommunications networks.

  • The purpose of this study is to reveal the spatial relationship between landslides and geospatial data set and to map the landslide susceptibility using this relationship, and the landslide occurrence data in Kangneung area in 2002. Landslide locations were identified from interpretation of satellite images. Landslide susceptibility was analyzed using an artificial neural network. The weights of each factor were determined by the back-propagation training method. Susceptibility maps were constructed from Geographic Information System (GIS), The cases were overlaid and cross overlaid for landslide susceptibility mapping in each study area in Kangneung.

  • In this paper, we proposed a beam tilting microstrip patch array antenna for the reception of satellite signals by using low cost copper etched polyester films and foams. The configuration and coupling mechanism of the proposed antenna are similar to the dipole Yagi-Uda antenna. It is composed of 3 layers of polyester films and three layers of foam. In order to prevent unwanted radiation and coupling loss by microstrip feeding networks and parasitic patches, a stacked layer with rectangular slots above the driver patch array is inserted. The 16${\times}$8 element microstrip Patch way antenna is Presented by experimental results. Its beam patterns are affected by many parameters such as sizes of the patches, gap between the patches. characteristics of the substrates, feeding method, etc. Owing to its complexities of various design parameters, both simulation and experiment were performed. The fabricated antenna received DBS signal from KOREASAT 3 by doing nothing but adjusting azimuth direction.

Nonlinear Networked Control Systems with Random Nature using Neural Approach and Dynamic Bayesian Networks

  • We propose an intelligent predictive control approach for a nonlinear networked control system (NCS) with time-varying delay and random observation. The control is given by the sum of a nominal control and a corrective control. The nominal control is determined analytically using a linearized system model with fixed time delay. The corrective control is generated online by a neural network optimizer. A Markov chain (MC) dynamic Bayesian network (DBN) predicts the dynamics of the stochastic system online to allow predictive control design. We apply our proposed method to a satellite attitude control system and evaluate its control performance through computer simulation.

  • A high accuracy ozone monitor using UV absorption method was developed for ambient ozone monitoring. The system was mainly composed of a high power pulsed xenon lamp as UV source, an optical spectrometer with a high sensitivity linear CCD array as UV detector and signal processing unit. The optical signal from the CCD array that provides unusually high response and excellent optical resolution for ozone concentration was converted to digital signal and the digital signal was displayed on screen using PC interface. The optical signal was propagated using optic fiber to reduce optical loss to increase the accuracy of the measuring system. This paper has been studied a interworking signalling protocol between two hybrid networks by analyzing Satellite B-ISDN architecture, DSS2 Layer 3 Signalling protocol, B-ISUP protocol, S-BISUP protocol stack and so on. Also in the paper, messages and primitives have been defined for B-ISDN's Connection Type, Ownership and each protocol in order to connect point-to-multipoint. The ozone sensing properties of the CCD ozone monitor was compared with those of the photo multiplier ozone monitor.

Dual Diversity over Correlated Ricean Fading Channels

  • The performance of dual diversity receivers operating over correlated Ricean fading channels is analyzed. Using a previously derived rapidly converging infinite series representation for the bivariate Ricean probability density function, analytical expressions for the statistics of dual-branch selection combining, maximal-ratio combining, and equal-gain combining output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are derived. These expressions are employed to obtain novel analytical formulae for the average output SNR, amount of fading, average bit error probability, and outage probability. The proposed mathematical analysis is used to study various novel performance evaluation results with parameters of interest the fading severity, average input SNRs, and the correlation coefficient. The series convergence rate is also examined verifying the fast convergence of the analytical expressions. The accuracy of most of the theoretical performance evaluation results are validated by means of computer simulations.

위성망 기반 고속인터넷 서비스 제공을 위한 PEP 기술동향 (Technology Trends in PEP for Broad-Band Internet Service via Satellite Networks)

  • 최근 위성통신은 물리계층의 고속 모뎀, 링크 계층에서의 고효율 패킷처리 기술 등의 발달로 양방향 광대역 멀티미디어 통신 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 기반을 마련하였다. 그러나 긴 전송 지연시간과 유선망에 비해 여전히 높은 패킷 손실률을 갖는 위성링크 고유의 특징은 현재 통신을 위해 가장 많이 사용하는 전송계층 프로토콜인 TCP(Transmission Control Protocol)를 여전히 위성망에서 제대로 동작시키기 어렵게 만들고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 위성망에서 TCP가 갖는 문제점을 해결하기 위해 도입된 PEP(Performance Enhancing Proxy) 기술에 대해서 관련 표준문서에서부터, 다양한 PEP 구성형태, 그리고 응용계층, 전송계층, 네트워크 계층에 따라 각각 적용된 PEP 주요 기술들을 살펴보고, 더불어 해외의 주요 PEP 제품들의 특징들을 분석함으로써 PEP 관련 전반적인 기술동향을 살펴보고자 한다.
