  • A sampling plan is presented for situations where sampling inspection is based on the quality characteristic of interest and items in rejected lots are screened based on a correlated variable. A cost model is constructed which involves the costs of misclassification errors, sampling and screening inspections. A method of finding optimal values of sample size, acceptance number and cutoff value on the correlated variable is presented, and numerical studies are given.

  • This study considers the design of life test sampling inspection plans by attributes for failure rate level qualification at selected confidence level. The lifetime distribution of products is assumed to be exponential. MIL-STD-690C and KS C 6032 standards provide this procedures. But these procedures have some questions to apply in the field. The cost of test and confidence level($1-{\beta}$ risk) are the problem between supplier and user. So, we suggest that the optimal life test sampling inspection plans using expected cost model considering product cost, capability, environmental test cost, etc.

  • A method is proposed for efficiently estimating the mean of a population which has a linear trend. The proposed estimator is based on the centered modified systematic sampling method and the concept of interpolation. Using the expected mean square error criterion, it is shown that the proposed method is more efficient than conventional methods in most real cases.

  • 본 연구에서는 1970년 Royall에 의해 표본추출방법의 한 대안으로서 다시 주목받기 시작한 균형추출방법(purposive selection or balanced sampling)과 확률추출방법(random sampling)의 장.단점을 층화추출법과 비추정량의 경우를 예로 들어 비교하고자 한다. 균형추출방법은 강건성(robustness)과 효율성(efficiency) 측면에서 확률추출방법은 추출의 간편성과 사회적 인식 측면에서 각각의 장점을 지니고 있는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

  • A new method is developed for estimating the mean of a population which has a linear trend. The suggested estimator is based on the balanced systematic sampling method and the concept of interpolation and extrapolation.   • In this paper, we aimed to develop associative pattern recognizer based on neural network for aircraft identification. For obtaining invariant feature space description of an object regardless of its scale change and rotation, Log-polar sampling technique recently developed partly due to its similarity to the human visual system was introduced with Fourier transform post-processing. In addition to the recognition results, image recall was associatively performed and also used for the visualization of the recognition reliability. The multilayer perceptron model was learned by backpropagation algorithm.

  • The breakthrough curves of a sampling tube were studied to predict the service life of a respirator cartridge for organic vapors. The fixed bed adsorption model was applied to respirator cartridge and it's variables were calculated from tile experiment of sampling tube. By the experiment and simulation, it was possible to predict the service life of a respirator cartridge, however, not adequate at low $CCl_4$ concentration less than 700ppm and at high air humidify. The breakthrough curves of sampling tube were irregular compare to that of respirator cartridge due to .packing density.

An Economic Life Test Sampling Plan for Repairable Products with Exponential Interfailure Time Distribution

  • In this article an economic life test sampling plan is considered for repairable products when the products in each lot have the same interfailure time distribution, but the mean time between failure (MTBF) of a lot varies from lot to lot according to a known prior distribution. A cost model is constructed which consists of test cost, accept cost, and reject cost. Determination of the optimal plan which minimizes the expected average cost per lot is discussed. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the use of the proposed sampling plans and sensitivity analyses for parameters of the prior distribution are performed.

  • In this study the flow curve estimation is discussed using TANK model which is one of hydrologic models. The main interest is the accuracy of TANK model parameter estimation with respect to the sampling frequency of input data. For doing this, input data with various sampling frequencies is used to estimate model parameters. As a result, in order to generate relatively accurate flow curve, it is recommendable to measure stream flow at least every 8 days.
