  • IEC 61850 is the worldwide protocol for the substation automation system. IEC 61850 transports the information which consists of different formats such as GOOSE(Generic Object Oriented Substation Event), MMS(Manufacturing Message Specification), SV(Sampled Values) and so on. For real time data transmission, GOOSE can be used. The remote-bus current data which were collected in a local-bus current differential IED can be transmitted to a distance IED at the same location by using GOOSE messages. The distance IED can eliminate the reactance effect by using the transmitted remote-bus current data. This method can improve the performance of the fault location.

  • The purpose of present study was to examine whether the perceived distance is compressed to different extent according to the length of the tool in the object that is not reachable even when using the tool, and whether the perceived distance is compressed according to the tool length only in the object being pointed. In Experiment 1, we found by measuring the egocentric distance that the length of the tool causes the distance to the target to be closer to that of the object placed at a far distance. In Experiment 2, we found by measuring the egocentric distance that when the operated object and the non-operated object coexisted in the visual field, the length of the tool does not affect the distance perception to the non-pointed object. In Experiment 3, we found that the tool length affects only the distance perception of the operated object by measuring the exocentric distance which is the distance between the operated object and the target in the same environment as Experiment 2. The results of present experiment suggest that the compression of the perceived distance occurs at a distance that can not be reached by using the tool, and that the compression of the perceived distance is limited to the pointed object.

  • The effect of coating thickness on the contact fatigue and wear of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are investigated in this study. The same bondcoat material thickness (250 ㎛) are used for each sample, which allows the effect of the coating thickness of the topcoat to be investigated. TBCs with different coating thicknesses (200, 400, and 600 ㎛) are prepared by changing processing parameters such as the feeding rate of the feedstock, spraying speed, and spraying distance during APS(air plasma spray) coating. The damage size on the surface are strongly affected by the coating thickness effect. Although the damage size from contact fatigue using a spherical indenter diminish at a TBC of 200 ㎛, a high wear resistance such as a low friction coefficient and little mass change are found at a TBC of 600 ㎛. These results indicate that the coating thickness strongly affects the mechanical behavior in TBCs during gas turbine operation.

  • PURPOSE. Several studies focused on the accuracy of intra-oral scanners in implant dentistry, but the data of inter-implant distances were not widely mentioned. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of distance between two implants on the surface distortion of scanned models generated by intra-oral scanners. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Three models with the distances between two fixed scan bodies of 7, 14, and 21 mm were fabricated and scanned with a highly precise D900L dental laboratory scanner as reference models. Fifteen scans were performed with TRIOS3 and CEREC Omnicam intra-oral scanners. Trueness, precision, and angle deviation of the test models were analyzed (α=.05). RESULTS. There was a significant difference among inter-implant distances in both intraoral scanners (P<.001). The error of trueness and precision increased with the increasing inter-implant length, while the angle deviation did not show the same trend. A significant difference in the angle deviation was found among the inter-implant distance. The greatest angle deviation was reported in the 14-mm group of both scanners (P<.05). In contrast, the lowest angle deviation in the 21-mm group of the TR scanner and the 7-mm of the CR scanner was reported (P<.001). CONCLUSION. The inter-implant distance affected the accuracy of intra-oral scanner. The error of trueness and precision increased along with the increasing distance between two implants. However, the distortions were not clinically significant. Regarding angle deviation, the clinically significant angle deviation may be possible when using intra-oral scanners in the partially edentulous arch.

  • The effects of temperature and initial crack length on the impact fracture behavior for the side plate material of FRP ship were investigated. And the effects of the counterpart roughness and sliding distance on the volumetric wear of same material were investigated as well. Impact fracture toughness of GF/PE composites displayed maximum value when the temperature of specimen is room temperature and $50^{\circ}C$, and with decreasing the temperature of specimen, impact fracture toughness decreased. Impact fracture energy of GF/EP composites decreased with increasing the initial crack length of specimen, and this value decreased rapidly when the temperature of specimen is lowest, $-25^{\circ}C$. It is believed that sensitivity of notch on impact fracture energy were increased with decreasing the temperature of specimen. With increasing the sliding distance, the transition sliding distance, which displayed different aspect on the friction coefficient and the volumetric wear loss, were found out. Counterpart roughness had a big influence on the wear rate at running in period, however the effect of counterpart roughness became smaller with sliding speed increase in. Volumetric wear loss were increased with increasing the applied load and the counterpart roughness.

  • In this paper, it is to identify the effects of differences in interpretation levels depending on the type of brand association and the brain psychological distance on the evaluation of the product of that brand through two experiments. To test our hypotheses empirically, we conducted online survey. We addressed the hypotheses involving the general and relative impact of actual and ideal self-congruence on emotional brand attachment (H1) and explored the effect of product involvement as the moderating variable (H1-1 and H1-2). The goal of this research was to validate the results from involving our basic model and to explore the impact of two additional moderating variables (self-esteem and public self-consciousness: H2). We followed the same procedure. This finding is theoretical to the extent of the interpretation level theory in brand association research by applying the interpretation level theory to the brand association, and provides the meaning that, in practice, it is necessary to utilize the message of different types of brain psychological distance depending on the brand association characteristics that the brand has in defining the brand. In particular, it was confirmed that functional brand associations and symbolic brand annals have representational harmonization, respectively, depending on the low and high levels of interpretation levels.

  • The purpose of this study is evaluate for effect quality eye care to the aged population of rural community. This study investigated one of important factors in dispensing distance pupillary distance. measured reading pupillary distance, calculated reading pupillary distance into age group and sex. I measured pupillary distance and near inter pupillary distance with corneal reflection pupillometer(shin Nippon PD-82) The objects are male and female living rural community at least 60 years old. The mean pupillary distance for distance of male and female were 63.52 mm, 61.24 mm, respectively. The mean measured reading pupillary distance of male and female were 60.12 mm, 58.08 mm, respectively. Gradient and difference between male and female were same with mean pupillary distance for distance. The result of comparison the mean difference of the mean measured reading pupillary distance and the calculated reading pupillary distance into the age group and sex. This result of changes of addition, as the age is older, the mean addition is greater than youth. I'd like to compare changes of these factors influenced by environmental factors, however I couldn't see about these. So I couldn't considered their relationship and some possible problems of wearing commercial reading glass.

  • This study shows how the water space outside the housing impacts the indoor thermal environment. CFD simulation was used for this experiment to analyze the interior environment focusing on the effect of temperature control and the thermal comfort. A shape of perfect square, which creates the very basic space formation, was used and the simulation was processed looking at the size, distance, and the location of the water space. The results of the experiment are as follows. Firstly, introducing a water space with the same floor area size of the simulation model decreased the indoor temperature by 1 Celsius (3.72%). It was determined the interior environment was considered as a comfort zone when the water space was greater than 70% of the floor area. Secondly, there was not much influence to the level of thermal comfort of the interior environment when the distance to the water space from the housing was greater than 2 meters. Lastly, interpreting the location of water space, the effect of controlling the total areas' temperature was the greatest following with the surrounding of the formation. There barely was any change to the temperature considering the side and the rear of the area.

  • This study is to evaluate an irregular drill-hole depth having an effect on the blast vibration. The relationship between a peak particle velocity and a cube root scaled distance with respect to three drill-hole depths with 2.1m, 2.3m and 2.4m are compared and analyzed using a numerical regression analysis. According to the results, the deeper a drill-hole depth is the larger a peak particle velocity is. It is suggested that a drill-hole depth is proportional to a peak particle velocity at the same scaled distance. Therefore, a regular drill-hole should be carried out in order that the blast vibration velocity of a fixed range under a allowable vibration velocity is maintained.

  • In this paper, we analyze an effect co-existence between digital television (DTV) and 802.22 wireless regional area network (WRAN) systems. We set DTV as an interfering system and 802.22 WRAN as a victim system. When they share the same spectrum, we calculate the minimum separation distance. In analysis, we compare a minimum coupling loss (MCL) with a transmission loss (TL) for determining whether there exists the potential interference or not. The minimum separation distance is determined when the TL is larger than the MCL. In this case, the DTV system does not affect any harmful effect to 802.22 WRAN.
