Research design, data, and methodology - This study conducted theoretical and empirical research together to accomplish the goal of the study. The pilot study researched human capital and social capital as the independent variables; the governmental R&D support system as the parameter; and, the initial success as the dependent variable. The empirical study carried out research on the model, establishment of hypotheses, and the statistical treatment. A survey was conducted targeting top management of high-tech venture companies in Daedeok Innopolis; 500 questionnaires were distributed; and, 222 were collected. Results - The human and social capital inherent in top management at venture companies in the early stages of their existence become good evaluation data for those who are invested in similar resources. If top management includes strong human and social capital, access to external resources will be easier; these will have a positive influence on the selection of overnmental support systems; and, this proper support will also have a positive influence on the initial success of the venture company. The results revealed the following. First, it was found that when the educational level and functional background, (the top management human capital), are the output function, top management human capital had a significant influence on selection of governmental R&D support funds. Second, it was found that the internal social capital and external social capital, (the top management social capital), had a significant influence on selection of governmental R&D support tasks. Third, it was found that selection of the governmental R&D support tasks at the start of the venture company had a positive influence on the corporate financial performance such as sales, business profits, and the increase in workers; and, had a significant influence on nonfinancial performance such as market share, competitive position, product competitiveness, and the future product development. Conclusions - Selection of the governmental R&D support system is not recognized as part of the direct sales of a venture company in its early stages, but as it can reduce costs for technical development and helps significantly in creating test products and mass production, it has a positive influence on the company's financial performance and nonfinancial performance as a result. Therefore, companies should take great efforts to frequently be selected as a candidate in the governmental R&D support system, as it can help facilitate R&D that requires extensive funds. As a result, companies can expect effects such as job creation and patent applications and they can advance future product sales.

The investigation showed that 80% of respondents knew about the KIT's school-based enterprise, the bakery. And it seems that the fact that the college is running the bakery does not inspire any special confidence in the products. The students doesn't seem to purchase the products as much as staffs and the professors do, so more active promotions are necessary for student customers. The answer we got to the question 'if you enjoy the our bread and cookies, would you recommend them to your friends or family?' shows that some limit to the 'word of mouth marketing.' And increase in sales of the school based enterprise is closely related to how many times the customers visit the bakery. The school-based enterprise is regarded as one of the most effective alternatives to practice filed based education and innovate teaching methods.

  • Today, our society is exposed to cyber threats, such as the leakage of personal information, as various systems are connected and operated organically with the development of information and communication technology. With the impact of these cyber risks, we are experiencing damage from the virtual world to the physical world. As the number of cases of damage caused by cyber attacks has continued to rise, social voices have risen that the government needs to manage cyber risks. Thus, information and telecommunication service providers are now mandatory to have insurance against personal information protection due to amendment of "the Act on Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection". However, the insurance management system has not been properly prepared, with information and communication service providers selecting the service operators based on sales volume rather than selecting them based on the type and amount of personal information they store and manage. • As a sales volume of autonomous vehicle continually grows up, regulations on this new technology are being introduced around the world. For example, safety standards for the Level 3 automated driving system was promulgated in December 2019 by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korean government. In order to promote the development of autonomous vehicle technology and ensure its safety simultaneously, the regulations on the automated driving systems should be phased in to keep pace with technology progress and market expansion. However, according to SAE J3016, which is well known to classify the level of the autonomous vehicle technologies, the description for classification is rather abstract. Therefore it is necessary to describe the automated driving system in more detail in terms of the 'Level.' In this study, the functions and characteristics of automated driving system are carefully classified at each level based on the commentary in the Informal Working Group (IWG) of the UN WP29. In particular, regarding the Level 4, technical issues are characterized with respect to vehicle tasks, driver tasks, system performance and regulations. The important features of the autonomous vehicles to meet Level 4 are explored on the viewpoints of driver replacement, emergency response and connected driving performance.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate the role and merits and demerits of insurance agencies, which are the main sales channels of the domestic insurance market, from a neutral standpoint, and to present a roadmap by finding ways and tasks for the sustainable development of the insurance agency industry. Recently, criticisms and regulations on independent distribution channels have been strengthened due to deterioration in growth potential and profitability, and increase in civil complaints of insurance companies. In the 2000s, as the center of insurance sales channels shifted to GA and bancassurance, the supervisory authorities regarded the irrationality of project costs and recruitment fees as the root causes and announced a regulatory improvement plan. In view of these circumstance, the operating status, problems of domestic insurance agencies and their contribution to the insurance industry were reviewed. In addition, we tried to find a mid-to-long term development plan by analyzing the case of insurance agency operation in Japan. This study identified the operating status and contribution of insurance agencies in South Korea, and focused on the major status of the Japanese insurance agency industry, ways to improve management efficiency, and the status and role of self-regulatory organizations for insurance agencies. Based on this, it was proposed to improve the professionalism of the sales organization, introduce a company specializing in insurance sales, and to strengthen the status of the association of the insurance agency as for the development plan of the insurance agency industry in South Korea.
