Characteristics and Implications of Teacher Education System in Canada (캐나다 교원양성체제의 특징과 시사점)

  • This study examines the characteristics of teacher education system and professional standards of teachers in Canada through analysis of the current teacher education curriculum and salary grids of teachers in Canada. As a result, the following characteristics were found. First, contents and theories acquired during the course of teacher education are connected to the actual practice to increase the site-compatibility. Second, professional standards of teachers is rather holistic, than detailed and systematic. Based on the findings, the following implication can be drawn. To enhance the site compatibility of teachers in the Republic of Korea, it is requisite to build a persistent, and cooperative relationship among the faculty members of teacher education program, the members of the community, and supervisor teachers of practicum schools. Also, it is necessary to come up with a system that directly connects the professionalism of the teachers and the salary grids, as the salary of teachers are adjusted according to the completion of degree or courses, reflecting the professionalism.

  • Income inequality in Korea has increased after the economic crisis, and the main reason for the widening of income distribution is due to the increase of the unemployed when analyzed using the Urban Household Report(UHR). However, income inequality has not decreased although the rate of unemployment decreased after 2000. Further data bases for income-related statistics are necessary to examine the exact causes of changing income inequality as a whole since the UHR covers only statistics on urban employees' wage and salary in Korea.

Factors Affecting Burnout of Staff in Emergency Medical Service (Focusing on 119 rescuers in Busan and Gyeongnam) (응급의료종사자의 소진 영향요인 (부산, 경남 지역 119구급대원 중심으로))

  • Purpose: This study aims to investigate the degree of burnout of 119 rescuers, to determine factors influencing their burnout, and to provide basic data for development of intervention programs to prevent the burnout. Methods: Subjects of this study were all 119 rescuers working at fire stations located in Busan and Gyeongnam. The data were collected from May 1, 2010 to June 30, 2010. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 17.0. Results: When the difference in the degree of burnout by general characteristics was investigated, the means of burnout were significantly different depending on age, period of service, position, license, annual salary, desire to work continuously and types of working hours. Job stress, job satisfaction, social support, self efficacy and self esteem showed a statistically significant correlation with burnout. The degree of burnout became higher with more job stress and lower job satisfaction, social support, self efficacy and self esteem. As a significant factor affecting the degree of burnout of 119 rescuers, job stress showed 47.3% of explanatory power. The explanatory power of all of job stress, job satisfaction, self efficacy, types of working hours, annual salary and license was 62% and the power of job stress was the highest. Conclusion: From these results, job stress, job satisfaction and self-efficacy were found to be factors affecting the burnout of 119 rescuers. Therefore, intervention programs to reduce job stress and to improve job satisfaction, social support, self efficacy and self esteem should be developed to lower the degree of burnout of 119 rescuers. In addition, further researches to analyze works of 119 rescuers and legal and institutional strategies to improve their treatment are necessary and supplementary training in various practices by different circumstances based on standardized protocols should be conducted.

  • Project manager plays a very important role in the success of any project. The primary duty of the project manager is to combine the outcomes or results of the various processes and activities of project management into a systematic project management strategy or plan for the project. In the construction industry, a lack of motivation is an urgent problem for many project managers in construction and engineering projects. Lack of motivation affects the quality and productivity of jobs, reducing profits and growth for companies, businesses, contractors or organizations that rely on human resources. The reasons for this lack of motivation are diverse ranging from salary to culture to life and working environment, among others. Through surveys and data analysis using Cronbach's Alpha reliability and EFA (Exploratory Factor Analysis), our research scaled the factors affecting work motivation of project managers in the construction industry in Vietnam. The research results identified six major groups of relevant factors including (i) salary and benefits, (ii) work environment, (iii) promotion opportunities, (iv) organizational culture, (v) interest in the job, and (vi) relationship with the organization. From there, this paper contributed useful information as well as measures for businesses, companies, contractors or organizations in the construction industry.

A Study about physical awareness symptoms of workers working at Seoul driver-owned taxi workplace by THI and CMI (CMI와 THI에 의한 서울시내 개인택시 사업장에 근무하는 근로자의 신체적 자각증상에 관한 연구)

  • This paper investigated Taxi drivers physical subjective symptoms and what factors were interviewed caused the symptoms. The 600 owning taxi-drivers in Seoul during four months from August 1st, 2003 to November 30th, 2003. 1. The average age of the owning taxi-drivers was generally quite high 54 years old. It was very high index compared with the Todai Health Index(THI) and Cornell Medical Index(CMI) of health check tables. 2. According to the age in THI health check table, the complains of mental subjective symptom by reason of age was high among 31 to 40 years old. People who belonged that age group showed high fabrication(L), digestion(C) and aggressiveness(F). The results showed the complains of mental subjective symptom. All items except tiredness(I), melancholia(N), and hypersensitivity(P) were commonly reported by people in their sixties. On the other hand, melancholia(N) and hypersensitivity(P), people in their forties were investigated highly. Statistically, the items of heartㆍblood stream(C) and digestion(D) systems were similar between the two ages, but anger(Q) was different. (p<0.05) 3. From the complains of mental and physical subjective symptoms about work satisfaction on the THI health check table, all items except eyeㆍskin trouble(B) showed strong dissatisfaction. From the complains of mental and physical subjective symptoms about work satisfaction on the CMI health check table, the items of respiratory system(B), digestion(D), nervous system(G), miscellaneous(K), inadequancy(M), and anger(Q) showed similar results. Otherwise, heartㆍblood stream(C) showed statistically different. 4. From the complains of mental and physical subjective symptoms on salary satisfaction in the THI health check table, in the case of people receiving around 1 million won, the complains of physical symptoms showed high among all items except for the respiratory(A) and digestion(C) systems. The eyeㆍskin trouble(B) item showed statistical similarity. The complains of mental and physical subjective symptoms according to a salary degree on the CMI health check table was completely different from the above results. In people received around 1~1.5million won, all items except anxiety(O) showed high. The hypersensitivity(P) item showed statistically different.

A Survey on Working Present Status of Physical Therapiests in Korea (한국 물리치료사들의 근무 현황조사)

  • The purpose of this article is to identify real problems and to have a view of the future in Korean physical therapy of it through the survey. Moreover we make a statement for the justification acquiring the rights of practing Physical therapiests with this fundamental data. The survey was conduced on 368 employed physical therapiests males 164. tamale 190 in korea from April t to 30 in 1998 with self-administered questionnaire. The following results were obtained : 1. Of the 323 cases, $121(37.46\%)$ work in local clinics, $55(17.02\%)$ in hospitals, $103(31.89\%)$ in general hospital and $21(9.60\%)$ in rehabilitation centers or public welfare facilities. 2. In investigation of annual salary, the most common annual salary was more than 20million won in male$(22.61\%)$ and $12\~14$million won in female$(35.36\%)$ 3. The age group of $27\~29$ years accounted for $32.32\%$ in male and $24\~20$ years accounted for $46.77\%$ in female of the total physical therapiests are the highest. 4. In job satisfaction, $44.5\%$ of physical therapiests who work in general hospital are generally satisfied and $25\%$ are 5. The periods of clinical practice for which physical therapiests expect to devote are 164$(44,81\%)$ consider less than 10years, and $67(18.31\%)$ expect 20years. 6. The problems of physical therapy system in korea are deviated administration of a cantral executive committee$(39.94\%)$ and excessive production of resistered physical therapiests.

A Study on Current Status on Job Activities of Cooks at Deluxe Hotels in Busan (부산 지역 특급호텔에 종사하는 조리사들의 직무 실태에 관한 연구)

  • A study was carried out to get information on hotel cooks. We needed to obtain the information on the working environment and satisfaction of the cooks to improve the working environment, a culinary art training program and an efficient man power control program. This study surveyed 305 cooks who work for deluxe hotels in Busan. The results were as fellows: The great part(67.2%) of the cooks was male and less than forty years old (85.6%), 67.0% of the cooks graduated from college and they had over 5 years(33%) or 1${\sim}$3 years(32.0%) in their current work places. 74.8% of the cooks earned less than 1.5 million won in a month. The cooks had on the average 1.53 lieences per person, and the most popular ones were the Western style(55.1%) and Korean style(49.2%) culinary arts. The most work places of the male cooks were Western style(49.3%) and Japanese style(41.8%) restaurants, but those of the female cooks were Western style(49.3%) and Korean style(30.6%) restaurants. The male cooks have worked over 5 years(36.0%) or 1${\sim}$3 years(31.0%) at these work places and the working period of female cooks ranged overall. Job satisfaction was found higher than satisfaction of work places and had no connection with age, job ranks, level of salary and academic background. The higher the age, job ranks, level of salary and academic background were, the more all the cooks satisfied about their jobs and work places.

The Correlations Between Job-Stress And Job-Relation Feature in Occupational Therapist Working in Nursing Home Facility (노인요양시설에 근무하는 작업치료사의 근무관련 특성과 직무스트레스와 상관성 연구)

  • Objective : This study investigates correlations between job-stress and job-relation feture in occupational therapists in nursing home. Method : For this study, self-reported questionnaires were distributed by online and offline survey to 237 occupational therapist from May to June in 2012. Fifty two of the questionnaires were returned, acceptable 46 survey responses were analyzed, expect 6 unclearly answered. Result : The results correlations between the 6 job-stress factors(confliction of professional role, lack of professional knowledge and skills, problem of personal relationship, disagreement with predecessor(manager, chief, etc), limitation of medical system, inappropriate salary) and 4 job-relation feature(period of job, annual salary, work out of therapy, job stability). Conclusion : This study demonstrates correlations between job-stress factors and job-relation feature in occupational therapist working in nursing home. Job-stress average 3.52points of 5points contributes more affecting the stress. Further research is necessary to more sample occupational therapist in nursing home.

  • This study presents a revitalization of the professional leagues through the identification of the problem based on analyzing the domestic professional sports business environment. The development plan for emerging problem is present along with guidelines that are appropriate for local environment and situation for league revitalization. First, the creation of a variety of marketing opportunity and integrated marketing strategy must be accompanied by the development for generating of the professional sports league's revenue. Second, Marketing of a player's potential should be developed. and utilized. Third, the domestic players and foreign players salary cap celery cap placed on the proportion of salary should be lower.
