  • Recently, reliability engineering is regarded as the major field for aerospace and electronics, semiconductor related industry to improve safety and life cycle. And advanced manufacturing systems with high speed and intelligent have been developed for the betterment of machining ability In this case, reliability prediction has also important roll from design procedure to manufacturing and assembly process.   • This study was carried out to estimate carbon footprint and to establish of LCA of garlic production system. We have case study in cultivate garlic 1 kg calculate in carbon footprint. LCA carried out to estimate carbon footprint and to establish of LCI (life cycle inventory) database of garlic production system. The data is from Research of Farmer's income in 2010 (RDA, 2011), and used Pass (5.0.0) program. The value of fertilizer, amount of pesticide input were shown the environmental effect and direct emission. Carbon footprint in agriculture guarantees the choice right the consumer to choose the lower carbon goods. Its can make to strengthen of agriculture and food industry's reduction effort of $CO_2$. Nowadays consumer requests food's safety and environment friendly process. Carbon footprint also needs consumer's relief and incentives.

  • Large plastic Li-ion (PLI) cells (25 to 28-Ah) were fabricated for an EV application. The 28-Ah cells showed high specific energy (160 Wh/kg), high specific power (526 W/g), excellent round-trip energy efficiency $(92\%)$, and low self-discharge rate ($6\%$ in 30 days). A 25-Ah cell of an earlier design showed good cycle life of up to 750 cycles at $100\%$ DOD to $80\%$ of its initial capacity, while cycle life test of a 28-Ah cell of a later design is in progress. Preliminary safety tests were also carried out using 6-Ah cells of a similar electrode design giving very encouraging results for development of a safe hish-energy density PLI battery for EV application.

  • Low cycle fatigue behaviors of SA508-3 low-alloy steel were investigated in room-temperature air, high-temperature air and in light water reactor (LWR) water environments. The fatigue mean curve and design curve for the low-alloy steel are developed based on the fatigue data in room-temperature and high-temperature air. The environmental fatigue model for low-alloy steel is developed by the environmental fatigue correction factor (Fen) methodology based on the fatigue data in LWR water environments with the consideration of effects of strain rate, temperature, and dissolved oxygen concentration on the fatigue life.

  • Before urban railway vehicles reach their design life-span, operating agencies should determine when to buy new vehicles. Previous LCC (Life Cycle Cost) studies were limited because they independently focused on existing vehicles based on costs that directly impacted only the operating agency without considering effects such as social costs and the reduction of maintenance costs. Thus, it is difficult to systematically determine when to buy new vehicles. This study investigated the operating and maintenance related costs, especially from additional expenses and social costs due to unexpected vehicle failures and safety accidents, and did an economic analysis of scenarios with different discount rates. Considering that the public is very concerned about safety after the Sewol ferry accident, additional costs, which include social costs, should be included in the analysis. This study shows that the economic priority of scenarios may change depending on whether those costs are included and on the discount rate. The results of this study can help in the decision-making process for the planning and buying of new trains.

  • This article proposes an integrated systems engineering and safety analysis model for safety-critical systems development. A methodology in system design for safety is considered during the early phase of the development life cycle of systems engineering process. The evolution of the design automation technology has enabled engineers to perform the model-based systems engineering. A Computer-Aided Systems Engineering(CASE) tool, CORE, is utilized to integrate the systems engineering model with a system safety analysis model. The results of the functional analysis phase can drive the analysis of the system safety. An example of Communications-Based Train Control(CBTC) system for an Automated Guided Transit(AGT) system demonstrated an application of the integrated model.

  • Railway signaling systems are so vital to ensure the safe operation of railroad and the assurance and demonstration of the safety is so important. The safety management process shall consist of a number of phases and activities, which are linked to form the safety life-cycle. The basic processes of safety management and safety activity throughout the lifecycle are 'risk analysis' and 'hazard control'. The safety managements and activities for the two kinds of aspects are implemented throughout the whole steps of system lifecycle. The risk analyses and hazard controls like those are needed, these activities have to be carried out through the whole of system lifecycle.

  • Organic light emitting diode(OLED) has been developed fast from 1963 when electric light emitting phenomenon was discovered. PMOLED(passive matrix OLED) is producted earlier than AMOLED(active matrix OLED). PMOLED is mainly mounted at sub display, but AMOLED is mounted at main display. Nowadays AMOLED is expanded to PMP(portable multimedia players), navigation and TV market. Even thought OLED's market is opening to many applications, OLED's life is worried until now. If we know about OLED's real life, we need time to test so much time over 20,000hrs. Realistically, there is difficult to test such as long time with products from the information-technology sector having a short life cycle. In this paper, we study about OLED's accelerated test to reduce life test by current. We can design OLED's accelerated life model by the result of test. The model consists of design variables like ratio of light emitting, organic material structure, condition of aging, etc. In conclusion, this model can be applied to study about organic material, machine and manufacturing process etc, and also it's possible to develop a method of manufacturing process & materials, so we need to study on the subject of this paper continuously.

  • The OHT(Over Head Transportation) Vehicle transports heavy products quickly and repeatedly at the industrial workplace. The belt in the OHT vehicle is used to support the weight of the OHT Cage. The fatigue of the belt is caused by the dynamic load during the operation time. Since the fatigue fracture of the belt affects the safety at the workplace, the correct prediction of the dynamic load is necessary to calculate the fatigue life of the belt on the design step. In this paper a computer aided analysis method is proposed for the belt in the early design stage using dynamic analysis, stress analysis, belt tensile test, belt fatigue test and fatigue lift prediction method. From the dynamic load time histories and the stress of the belt FE model, a dynamic stress time history is produced. Using linear damage law and cycle counting method, fatigue life cycle is calculated. The method developed in this paper is used to reduce the time and cost for designing the OHT belt in different environment and condition.
