myo-Inositol, a growth factor for Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S. cerevisiae), has been known to be incorporated into phosphatidylinositol (PI), which is a kind of phospholipid in the cell membrane, by a membrane-associated PI-synthesizing enzyme. The deficiency of myo-inositol in S. cerevisiae adversely affected the membrane structure and function. On the basis of biochemical functions of myo-inositol, the effect of deficiency of myo-inositol on the aerobic glucose metabolism was investigated by measuring specific oxygen uptake rate (Q$_{O2}$) used as an indicator representing the respiratory capacity of S. cerevisiae in batch and continuous cultures. The respiratory capacity of aerobic glucose metabolism in S. cerevisiae was also monitored after glucose pulse-addition in a continuous culture (D=0.2, 1/hr), in which glucose was utilized through respiratory metabolism. The deficiency of myo-inositol was found to lead to both the decrease of the maximum specific oxygen uptake rate (Q$_{O2max}$) observed from the batch as well as in the continuous culture experiment and the decrease of the respiratory capacity of aerobic glucose metabolism of S. cerevisiae determined from the glucose pulse-addition experiment, in which the glucose flux into respiratory and fermen- tative metabolism was quantitatively analyzed.

[ $2.1\;{\mu}m$ ]입자경의 단분산 PBA seed를 이용한 2단계 분산중합을 seeded batch process 와 seeded semi-continuous process를 이용하여 다양한 형태의 PBA/PMMA composite 미립자를 제조하였다. Batch process의 경우 PBA/PMMA composite 입자의 모폴로지는 중합 분산매인 methanol/water 비와 중합 2단계에서의 PBA seed/MMA단량체의 비에 따라 크게 영향을 받으며, methanol/water 중합분산매중 물의 량이 증가함에 따라, 그리고 중합 2단계에서 MMA단량체량이 증가함에 따라 PBA와 PMMA간의 상분리현상이 심화되어 구형의 입자로부터 egg, snowman, confetti, peanut와 같은 비구형의 PBA/PMMA composite 입자들이 제조되었다. Semi-continuous process의 경우 단량체 부가시간을 조절함으로서 PBA/PMMA composite 입자의 모폴로지가 변함을 발견하였고 특히, 단량체의 결핍된 조건하에서 구형의 PBA(코어)/PMMA(쉘) composite 라텍스가 제조되었다.

멀티미디어 어플리케이션들은 기존의 화일 서버 기법으로는 쉽게 제공하지 못하는 보장된 검색 및 전송률을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 CM(Continuous Media : 예를 들어 비디오) 서버를 위한 동적 협상 수락 제어(dynamic negotiated admission control)와 자원 스케줄링(resource scheduling) 기법을 제안한다. 이는 두 부분으로 구성되는데, 예약 기반 수락 제어 방법(reserve-baed admission control mechanism)과 동적으로 자원을 할당하는 스케줄러가 그것이다. 정적 스케줄러와 비교할 때, 제안된 기법은 경쟁하는 스트림들에게 이용가능 한 자원들을 효과적으로 공유할 수 있도록 해주며, 전반적인 QoS(Quality of Service)를 향상시키기 위해 자원의 재 할당을 요구하는 스트림들을 위한 스케줄러 초기화 협상(scheduler-initiated negotation)을 통해 높은 이용률을 얻을 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 기법을 사용하여 동시에 실행시킬 수 있는 클라이언트의 수를 증가시킬 수 있으며 혼잡한 트래픽 상태에서도 좋은 응답 비율과 향상된 자원 이용률을 얻을 수 있다.

In this study, solutions for a liquid pool spreading model with continuous and instantaneous release are discussed based on the model used in the FERC's report. The effects of the release time on the liquid pool volume and radius are investigated for the continuous release. For the continuous release with the frictional resistance force in the liquid pool spreading model, the vaporization time decreases as the release time increases. On the other hand, for the continuous release without the frictional resistance force in the liquid pool spreading model, the vaporization time increases as the release time increases. These phenomena are deeply related to the pool radius. In addition, the effects of the initial pool radius for the instantaneous release in the liquid pool spreading model are discussed. For the case with the frictional resistance force in the liquid pool spreading model, as reducing release time in the model with the frictional resistance force for the continuous release, the solution for a continuous release approaches to that for an instantaneous release. On the contrary to this, the pool volume and radius for the instantaneous release without the frictional resistance force are totally different from those for the continuous release without the frictional resistance force.

Relationships between inventory policy and operational availability of military equipment maintained under a logistics support system are analyzed. A continuous review inventory model with a stochastic demand typically used in a military logistics support is considered and some numerical studies are provided.
