The Effects of Chinese Coffee Shop Customers' Happiness on Continuous Usage Intention (중국 커피 전문점 이용고객의 해피니스가 지속이용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose - With the economic development in China, the lifestyle of Chinese customers has changed dramatically. Chinese customers are more likely to have coffee in a shop with the ability to make them happy than those with high quality coffee in a nice physical environment. Happiness becomes a critical driver of customers' intention to purchase a cup of coffee in a specific coffee shop again and again. As a result, happiness becomes an important factor for managers to make strategies for attracting customers. Although managers and scholars pay more attention to emphasize the importance of happiness in customers' consumption, little research has been conducted to investigate the relationship between happiness and coffee shop's continuous usage intention in the Chinese coffee industry. Research design, data, and methodology - A research model is made to explain the impact of happiness on customer's behavior. To understand the influence of happiness better, we consider two dimensions of happiness which are subjective well-being and psychological well-being. In order to confirm the relationships of the variables in the research model, the online survey is constructed in China. Customers who have experienced the services in a coffee shop are asked to do the questionnaire. With 453 reliable questionnaires, structural equation modeling is used to analyze the causal relationships of the coffee quality, physical environment, subjective well-being, psychological well-being, and continuous usage intention. Results - Results indicate that coffee quality and physical environment are not the direct factors that influence customers' continuous usage intention. However, good coffee quality and physical environment are the significant predictors of Chinese customers' happiness associated with subjective well-being and psychological well-being, which in turn affects customers' continuous usage intention. Conclusions - In this study, it is proposed that coffee quality and physical environment may be the key factors influencing customers' happiness. Happiness, including subjective well-being and psychological well-being matters in decision making process. More importantly, happiness increases the continuous usage intention when the coffee shop can serve customers with higher quality coffee at a good atmospheric place. Managers should consider happiness as an important factor in making marketing strategies to compete in this industry.

Continuous Production of Sorbitol with Zymomonas mobilis in a Packed Bed Reactor (Zymomonas mobilis에 의한 Packed Bed Reactor를 이용한 연속적인 sorbitol의 형성)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a continuous process for sorbitol production using Zymomonas mobilis immobilized in K-carra-geenan. The glutaraldehyde cross-linking of toluene-treated cells immobilized in alginate or chitin showed high enzyme stability for long period. However, loss of enzyme activity was observed at 23% during 210h. In order to investigate the stability of glucose-fructose oxidoreductase of cethyltrimethylammoniumbromide (CT AB) treated cells, the long term continuous process was carried out with Z. mobilis immobilized in K-carrageenan in the continuous stirred tank reactor(CSTR) and the packed bed reactor. The continuous production of sorbitol with the immobilized CT AB permeabilized cells in packed bed reactor was more stable than in CSTR. Two stage continuous process with CT AB treated cells of Z. mobilis immobilized in K-carrageenan was carried out at various dilution rates. At the first stage, the productivity was increased up to 15 g/ $\ell$ -h as dilution rate increased and decreased over 0.32$h^{-1}$ of dilution rate. Similarly, maximum productivity obtained at the second stage was 22g/$\ell$ -h at 0.32$h^{-1}$

Effects of Experiential Value on Continuous Use Intention for On-Demand Services (온디맨드(On-Demand) 서비스의 지속사용의도에 대한 경험가치 효과)

  • On-Demand services have emerged as one of the core business strategies for delivering new experiential values by providing customized services in different user-needs nowadays. Based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework, this paper focuses on the factors of environmental stimulation and emotional states of the demand-side that induce continuous intention of use from the On-Demand services. The study defines 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust', and 'Convenience' as the properties of the On-Demand services and considers 'Playfulness', 'Customer Return on Investment (CROI)', and 'Service Excellence' as the aspects of the experiential values. The research shows that 'Fulfillment', 'Trust' and 'Convenience' affected the experiential value in 'Kakao Taxi (On-Demand transportation service)' while 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust of platform', and 'Convenience' are represented as the related factors to the experiential value in 'Baedal Minjok (On-Demand food delivery service)'. The experiential value factors, 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence', are shown directly related to the continuous intention of use in both services. A partial mediation relationship is, furthermore, observed between the aspects of 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence' in Kakao Taxi and its 'Convenience' and 'Continuous intention of use.' In Baedal Minjok, a partial mediation relationship is found between the 'CROI' with its aspects of 'Trust of the platform', 'Convenience', and 'Continuous intention of use' as well. The results of this study may contribute a comprehensive understanding of the purpose of On-Demand services and its needs from the demand-side thus can be helpful for the supply-side.

A Study on the Effects of Chinese Live Commerce Service Quality Characteristics on Users' Continuous Use Intention (중국 라이브 커머스 서비스 품질 특성이 이용자의 지속이용의 도에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze users' continuous use intentions using the characteristics of live commerce in China. Design/methodology/approach - Social presence, influence of information source (Wang Hong), convenience, marketability, reliability, personal innovativeness, and social influence were selected as elements that affect the perceived value of users, and an assumption that perceived value would affect continuous use intention was set. 515 samples were obtained from Chinese consumers through a Chinese online questionaire survey. IBM SPSS 26 and AMOS was used for statistical testing. Findings - First, social presence, Wang Hong, convenience, marketability, and reliability, which are the quality characteristics of live commerce services, affect the perceived value of users and user's continuous use intention. Second, the perceived value of users plays a mediating role between the quality characteristics of live commerce service and the continuous use intention. Third, personal innovativeness plays a moderating role in the effect of live commerce service quality on the perceived value of e-commerce users. Fourth, among the relative effects of the service quality characteristic variables, the relative effect of reliability is the greatest followed by that of convenience, marketability, and Wang Hong, in order of precedence, and the effect of social presence is the smallest. Research implications or Originality - South Korean government's plan to support for advancing into live commerce in China were presented as strategic implications for exporting South Korean products to China through online services including live commerce.

  • In an attempt to solve multiobjective optimization problems, many traditional methods scalarize the objective vector into a single objective. In those cases, the obtained solution is highly sensitive to the weight vector used in the scalarization process and demands the user to have knowledge about the underlying problem. Moreover, in solving multiobjective problems, designers may be interested in a set of Pareto-optimal points, instead of a single point. In this paper, pareto-based Continuous Evolutionary Algorithms for Multiobjective Optimization problems having continuous search space are introduced. This algorithm is based on Continuous Evolutionary Algorithms to solve single objective optimization problems with a continuous function and continuous search space efficiently. For multiobjective optimization, a progressive reproduction operator and a niche-formation method fur fitness sharing and a storing process for elitism are implemented in the algorithm. The operator and the niche formulation allow the solution set to be distributed widely over the Pareto-optimal tradeoff surface. Finally, the validity of this method has been demonstrated through a numerical example.

Comparative study on response of thiocyanate shock load on continuous and fed batch anaerobic-anoxic-aerobic sequential moving bed reactors

  • A comparative study on response of a toxic compound thiocyanate ($SCN^-$) was carried out in continuous and fed batch moving bed reactor systems. Both systems had three sequential anaerobic, anoxic and aerobic reactors and operated at same hydraulic retention time. Feed $SCN^-$ was first increased from 600 mg/L to 1,000 mg/L for 3 days (shock 1) and then from 600 to 1,200 mg/L for 3 days (shock 2). In anaerobic continuous reactor, increase of effluent COD (chemical oxygen demand) due to shock load was only 2%, whereas in fed batch reactor it was 14%. In anoxic fed batch reactor recovery was partial in terms of $SCN^-$, phenol, COD and $NO{_3}{^-}$-N and $NO{_2}{^-}$-N removals and in continuous reactor complete recovery was possible. In both systems, inhibition was more significant on aerobic reactors than anaerobic and anoxic reactors. In aerobic reactors ammonia removal efficiency deteriorated and damage was irreversible. Present study showed that fed batch reactors showed higher substrate removal efficiency than continuous reactors during regular operation, but are more susceptible to toxic feed shock load and in nitrifying reactor damage was irreversible.

  • It is essential to reduce track maintenance costs and to extend the periodic replacements of continuous welded rails based on accumulated passing tonnage. As recently train load decrease and rail joints wear down less, the periodic replacements of continuous welded rails can be extended. There are many kinds of rail damage like squat, head-check and corrugation. These can be taken nondestructive or naked eye test. So the periodic replacements of continuous welded rails based on accumulated passing tonnage were examine with focusing on a crack of rail bottom of continuous welded rail. Therefore, this study measure dynamic response of track by metro train load, it compute impact coefficient and track spring coefficient for estimating a condition of actual track system. Also, it is converted the measured stress waveform into stress frequency histogram by the rain-flow counting methods, and then the equivalence of stress is calculated. As apply s-n curve of a new welded rail, accumulated fatigue damage ratio of laid rail and remaining service lives is estimated. This study suggest a plan of the periodic replacements of continuous welded rails based on accumulated passing tonnage classified by the types of track system.

A Study on the Factors Affecting Intention on Continuous Use of Mobile Learning in Cyber University (이러닝과 연계된 모바일러닝에서 사이버대학생의 지속사용의도와 영향요인간 구조적 관계 분석)

  • The purpose of the present study is to verify the structural relationship among system quality, information quality, service quality, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, satisfaction, intention on continuous use of mobile learning in cyber university. For this study, W cyber university in Korea was chosen to conduct web survey. The subjects were 283 students who participated in W's cyber university courses. A hypothetical model was composed of system quality, information quality, service quality, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness as exogenous variables, satisfaction and intention on continuous use of mobile learning as endogenous variables. The result of this study through structural equation modeling analysis is as follows: First, information quality only affect satisfaction, Second, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and satisfaction significantly affect intention on continuous use of mobile learning. These results imply that information quality should be considered for the design and development of mobile learning contents. Also, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and satisfaction is important to enhance intention on continuous use of mobile learning. This study proposes strategies for successful mobile learning in cyber university.

Effects of Expectation Confirmation, Social Interaction and Perceived Usefulness on Continuous Intention to Use SNS in MICE Industry (MICE 산업 관련 SNS에서 기대일치, 사회적 상호작용, 지각된 유용성이 만족과 지속적인 이용의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose This study proposes a research model based on Expectation-Confirmation theory in order to investigate impacts of three variables(expectation confirmation, social interaction, and perceived usefulness) on continuous intention to uss SNS in MICE industry. Design/methodology/approach A survey approach was used in order to measure each latent variable in the research model. A total of 140 responses were collected from actual users of SNS in MICE industry. A structural equation modeling with SmartPLS 2.0 was conducted in order to analyze each relationship in the proposed research model. Findings The results indicated the expectation confirmation had a positive impact on the perceived usefulness, social interaction, and satisfaction. Second, perceived usefulness had a significant positive impact on satisfaction and continuous intention to use SNS in MICE industry. Thrid, social interaction had a positive influence on both satisfaction and continuous intention to use SNS in MICE industry. Finally, the relationship between satisfaction and continuous intention in SNS of MICE industry was fully supported.

  • We present a high-throughput continuous cell separation chip using hydrodynamic dielectrophoresis (DEP) process. The continuous cell separation chip uses three planar electrodes in a separation channel, where the positive DEP cells are moved away from the central streamline while the negative DEP cells remain in the central streamline. In the experimental study, we use the mixture of viable (live) and nonviable (dead) yeast cells in order to obtain the continuous cell separation conditions. For the conditions of the electric fields frequency of 5MHz and the medium conductivity of $5{\mu}S/cm$, the fabricated chip performs a continuous separation of the yeast cell mixture at the varying flow-rate in the range of $0.1{\sim}{\mu{\ell}/min$.; thereby, resulting in the purity ranges of $95.9{\sim}97.3\%\;and\;64.5{\sim}74.3\%$ respectively for the viable and nonviable yeast cells. present chip demonstrates the constant cell separation performance for varying mixture flow-rates.
