  • This study was conducted to ramify of the splenic arteries by injection of Vinylite into the splenic arteries in twenty five adult Korean cattle. The results obtained are summarized as follows : 1. Splenic trabcular arteries of bovine were originated from 3 chief Rami lienales, Aa. terminales superior et inferior and A. polaris superior, of the splenic arteries, and the splenic parenchyma was ramified to 4-9 arterial segments by the course of the Rami lienales. 2. Each one of the arterial segments was dealt with 2-4 Teilsegmente, therefore, the splenic parenchyma was ramified from 12 Teilsegmente in minimum to 30 Teilsegmente in maximum. 3. The distribution of the arteries in the spleens was divided into 6 types by the number of arterial segments, and also was 15 kinds by the distributing arteries, Aa. terminales superior et inferior and A. polares superior. 4. The anastomosis was not observed between the arterial segments and Teilsegmente.

  • Mobile source emissions are important inputs to photochemical air quality models. Since most mobile source emissions are calculated at the county-level, these emission should be geographically allocated to the computational grid cells of a photochemical air quality model prior to running the model. The traditional method for the spatial allocation of these emissions has been to use a "spatial surrogate indicator" such as population, since grid-specific emission calculations are very labor-intensive and expensive, plus the necessary data are often not available for such grid resolutions. Accordingly, new spatial surrogate indicators for mobile source emissions(specifically for highway emissions) were developed using Geographic Information Systems(GIS) tools due to the spatially variable nature of mobile source emissions. These newly developed spatial surrogate indicators appear to be more appropriate for the allocation of highway emissions than the population surrogate indicator. It was also revealed that the conventional spatial allocation method underestimates the maximum levels of air pollutant emmissions.mmissions.

  • In this paper, temperature distribution and thermal stress are investigated considering engine peak pressure and the time average temperature distribution in the piston under running conditions for the diesel engine. The induced stress are calculated by the Finite Element Method(FEM). The results obtained are summerized as follows. 1) The results calculated by the FEM present good agreement with other numerical solution in literature. 2) It is confirmed that maximum compressive stress are induced in the part of outside wall between the piston crown and the pin bush. 3) In the axial direction, the hoop stresses are changed its sigh at the portion of crown near the inner wall side 4)Large gradient of temperature is shown in the piston crown near the side wall in the axial direction, in the part between the piton crown and the pin bush in radical direction 5)in case of stress distribution of piston wall surface in the axial direction, the hoop stress is a little greater than axial stress, and the latter is greater than the radial stress

  • We present a space-time trellis coded OFDM system in slow fading channels. Generalized principal ratio combining (GPRC) is also analyzed theoretically in frequency domain. The analysis shows that the decoding metric of GPRC includes the metrics of maximum likelihood(ML) and PRC. The computer simulations with M-PSK modulation are obtained in frequency flat and frequency selective fading channels. The decoding complexity and simulation running times are also evaluated among the decoding schemes.

  • We present a fast, constructive algorithm for the automatic placement of standard cells, which consists of two steps. The first step is responsible for cell-row assignment of each cell, and converts the circuit connectivity into a multi-stage graph under to constraint that sum of the cell-widths in each stage of the multi-state graph does not exceed maximum cell-row width. Generatin of feed-through cells in the final layout was shown to be drastically reduced by this step. In the second step, the position of each cell within the row is determined one by one from left to right so that the cost function such as the local channel density is minimized. Our experimental result shows that this algorithm yields near optimal results in terms of the number of feed-through cells and the horizontal tracks, while running about 100 times faster than other iterative procedures such as pairwise interchange and generalized force directed relaxation method.

  • The purpose of present study is to investigate for reducing pressure fluctuations in tile case of installing tile air-shafts on the side wall of the tunnel with small cross-sectional area on conventional line. Experiments were performed with a 1/61-scale moving model rig for the tunnel of 0.764km length in the condition of tunnel cross-section area of 28 ㎡ According to the results, the maximum pressure fluctuation is reduced by 45% for 19 air-shafts. This results have the speed-up effects of about 33.4km/h for the train running in tunnel.

  • Airport railroad have required maximum design speed 120km/h and wind speed 50m/s condition as design item of airport railroad vehicles. To design and manufacture the vehicle satisfying these conditions, it must carry out the dynamic behaviors analysis such as hunting stability, ride comfort derailment ratio, unloading ratio and lateral force to meet the criterion described in Urban Railroad Act. Dynamic behaviors of vehicle have carried out using the multi-body dynamics simulation program(VAMPIRE). This paper presents the evaluation methods and criterion used to verify dynamic performance of airport railroad vehicle, and show the analysis results of vehicle dynamic simulation and the test results for vibration and ride comfort measured on running performance tests. As a results, each analysis results and test results meet the criterion described in Urban Railroad Act.

  • Korean Train Express (KTX) has opened to commercial traffic since 2004 at maximum speed 300km/h, and Korea High-speed Railway (HSR-350x) was developed by Korean government, several institutes, and related companies. HSR-350x is now being investigated its performance and tested at the high speed line. In 2004 December, HSR-350x was run over 350km/h and proved its running performance. These high speed railways have 12 motors to transfer the traction effort or the braking force. In this paper, authors propose the construction the measurement system for monitoring the force transferred to the train from the motor. The system is installed to the tripod shaft which is located between the reduction gears and it measures the mechanical load directly.

  • This paper describes the design process and the test of split wheel-mounted brake discs for high speed train with maximum speed 180km/h. A disc set composed 2 disc rings and individual rings are partitioned into 3 pieces with the same circumferential angle. Because partitioned disc rigs are exposed to severe centrifugal force as the vehicle speed increase, finite element analyses used in the design process to ensure mechanical safety. A prototype was verified its mechanical safety through the spin test up to 250km/h. 2 prototypes for 1 wheelset are mounted to Korean Tilting Train(TTX) and have been running over 15,000km
