  • The main objective of this research is to build a behavior prediction model of gameplay for MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) game using the GOMS analysis method. GOMS analysis is an observational approach to HCI(Human Computer Interaction) to model and predict behaviors of a human operator in a highly interactive task. In this research, a pilot experiment was previously conducted with three skilled gamers. The gamers were provided with the goals and operators through the user's guide book, and they found methods and selection rules while being observed. Based on the results obtained from the pilot study, this research was expanded and the model was further tested with 30 subjects (game experts). The new outcomes revealed that the relevance of GOMS analysis for predicting selection rules is 96.25% according to the degree of abstraction and 77.35% based on the degree of complexity. This research will provide game designers with a new testing mechanism in the early development stages, in order to improve the quality of the game product.

  • As network systems are developed rapidly and network architectures are more complex than before, it needs to use PBNM(Policy-Based Network Management) in network system. Generally, architecture of the PBNM consists of two hierarchical layers: management layer and enforcement layer. A security policy server in the management layer should be able to generate new policy, delete, update the existing policy and decide the policy when security policy is requested. And the security policy server should be able to analyze and manage the alert messages received from Policy enforcement system in the enforcement layer for the available information. In this paper, we propose an alert analyzer using data mining. First, in the framework of the policy-based network security management, we design and implement an alert analyzes that analyzes alert data stored in DBMS. The alert analyzer is a helpful system to manage the fault users or hosts. Second, we implement a data mining system for analyzing alert data. The implemented mining system can support alert analyzer and the high level analyzer efficiently for the security policy management. Finally, the proposed system is evaluated with performance parameter, and is able to find out new alert sequences and similar alert patterns.

  • Deep packet inspection which perform pattern matching to search for malicious patterns in the packet is most computationally intensive task. Hardware-based pattern matching is required for real-time packet inspection in high-speed network. In this paper, we have designed and implemented network intrusion detection hardware as a Microblaze-based SoC using Virtex-6 FPGA, which capture the network input packet, perform hardware-based pattern matching for patterns in the Snort rule, and provide the matching result to the software. We verify the operation of the implemented system using traffic generator and real network traffic. The implemented hardware can be used in network intrusion detection system operated in wire-speed.

  • Case-Base Reasoning(CBR) solves the new problems by reusing the solutions to previously solved problems. But, there are differences between previously known case and a new problems. To solve this problem Case-Based System have to adapt the solution of the case to suit a new situation. In current CBR systems, case adaptation is usually performed by rule-based method that use rules hand-coded by the system developer. So, CBR system designer faces knowledge acquisition bottleneck akin to those found in traditional expert system design. To solve this problem, in this thesis, we present an automatic learning method of case adaptation knowledge using case base, we use a method of comparing cases in the case base to learn adaptation knowledge. The system is tested in the domain for the decision of travel-price. The result shows accuracy improvement in comparison with case retrieval-only system.

  • Recently, keyword extraction from social big data has been widely used for the purpose of extracting opinions or complaints from the user's perspective. Regarding this, our previous work suggested a method to improve accuracy of keyword extraction based on the notion of cohesion scoring, but its accuracy can be degraded when the number of input reviews is relatively small. This paper presents a method to resolve this issue by applying simplified morphological analysis as a postprocessing step to extracted keywords generated from the algorithm discussed in the previous work. The proposed method enables to add analysis rules necessary to process input data incrementally whenever new data arrives, which leads to reduction of a dictionary size and improvement of analysis efficiency. In addition, an interactive rule adder is provided to minimize efforts to add new rules. To verify performance of the proposed method, experiments were conducted based on real social reviews collected from online, where the results showed that error ratio was reduced from 10% to 1% by applying our method and it took 450 milliseconds to process 5,000 reviews, which means that keyword extraction can be performed in a timely manner in the proposed method.

  • The field of the web service orchestration introduced to generate a valuable service by reusing single services. Recently, it suggests rule-based searching and composition by the AI (Artificial Intelligence) instead of simple searching or orchestration based on the IOPE(Input, Output, Precondition, Effect) to implement the Semantic web as the web service of the next generation. It introduce a AOP programming paradigm from existing object-oriented programming paradigm for more efficient modularization of software. In this paper, we design a dynamic web service orchestration and invocation scheme applying Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP) and Reflection for Semantic web. The proposed scheme makes use of the Reflection technique to gather dynamically meta data and generates byte code by AOP to compose dynamically web services. As well as, our scheme shows how to execute composed web services through dynamic proxy objects generated by the Reflection. For performance evaluation of the proposed scheme, we experiment on search performance of composed web services with respect to business logic layer and user view layer.

  • In this paper we designed the motor control IP Core and evaluate its quality from the viewpoint of IP reuse. The most attractive merit of this methodology, so called IP-based hardware design, is hardware reuse. Although various vendors designed hardware with the same specification and got the same functional results, all that IPs is not the same quality in the reuse aspect. As tremendous calls for SoC have been increased, associated research about IP quality standard, VSIA(Virtual Socket Interface Alliance) and STARC(Semiconductor Technology Academic Research Center), has been doing best to make the IP quality evaluation system. And they made what conforms to objective IP design standard. We suggest the methodology to evaluate our own designed motor control IP quality with this standard. To attain our goal, we designed motor control IP that could control the motor velocity and position with feedback compensation algorithm. This controller has some IP blocks : digital filter, quadrature decoder, position counter, motion compensator, and PWM generator. Each block's functionality was verified by simulator ModelSim and then its quality was evaluated. To evaluate the core, We use Vnavigator for lint test and ModelSim for coverage check. During lint process, We adapted the OpenMORE's rule based on RMM (Reuse Methodology Manual) and it could tell us our IP's quality in a manner of the scored value form. If it is high, its quality is also high, and vice versa. During coverage check ModelSim-SE is used for verifying how our test circuits cover designs. This objective methods using well-defined commercial coverage metrics could perform a quantitative analysis of simulation completeness. In this manner, We evaluated the designed motor control IP's quality from the viewpoint of reuse. This methodology will save the time and cost in designing SoC that should integrate various IPs. In addition to this, It can be the guide for comparing the equally specified IP's quality. After all, we are continuously looking forward to enhancing our motor control IP in the aspect of not only functional perfection but also IP reuse to prepare for the SoC-Compliant motor control IP design.

  • A systematic procedure to design fuzzy PID controllers is developed in this paper. The concept of local fuzzy control cell is proposed by introducing both an adequate global control rule and membership functions to simplify a fuzzy logic controller. Fuzzy decision is made by using algebraic product and parallel firing arithematic mean, and a defuzzification strategy is adopted for improving the computational efficiency based on nonfuzzy micro-processor. A direct method, transforming the typical output of quasi-linear fuzzy operator to the digital compensator of PID form, is also proposed. Finally, the proposed algorithm is applied to an DC-servo motor. It is found that this algorithm is systematic and robust through computer simulations and implementation of controller using Intel 8097 micro-processor.
