Based on novel Galerkin's technique, the theoretical study gives a prediction to estimate the vibrations of FG rotating cylindrical shell. Terms of ring supports have been introduced by a polynomial function. Three different laws of volume fraction are utilized for the vibration of cylindrical shells. Variation frequencies with the locations of ring supports have been analyzed and these ring supports are placed round the circumferential direction. The base of this approach is an approximate estimation of eigenvalues of proper functions which are the results of solutions of vibrating equation. Each longitudinal wave number corresponds to a particular boundary condition. The results are given in tabular and graphical forms. By increasing different value of height-to-radius ratio, the resulting backward and forward frequencies increase and frequencies decrease on increasing length-to-radius ratio. There is a new form of frequencies is obtained for different positions of ring supports, which is bell shaped. Moreover, on increasing the rotating speed, the backward frequencies increase and forward frequencies decreases.

Hot-wire measurements were carried out on the developing turbulent flows subject to plane rate of strain in a rotating curved duct. The cross-section of the curved duct varies from 100mm${\times}$50mm rectangular shape at the bend inlet gradually to the 50mm${\times}$100mm rectangular shape at the bend outlet. Experimental setup consists of the test section of $90^{\circ}$ curved duct, rotating disc of 1.95m diameter, Ag-Ni precision slip ring, automatic traversing mechanism, variable speed motor, centrifugal blower, orifice flowmeter and hot-wire anemometer. Data signals from the rotating curved duct are transmitted through the slip ring to the computer which is located at the outside of the rotating disc. 3-dimensional velocity and 6 Reynold stresses components were obtained from the fluctuating and mean voltage measured by the slant type hot-wire probe rotating into 6 orientations. We investigate the effects of Coriolis and centrifugal forces on the turbulence structure.
Details on the electrochemical formation of lead dioxide from aqueous plumbous ion are studied by measuring current-time behavior with potential step method at a rotating platinum electrode. A cubic law without induction period can be applied to the crystallization of lead dioxide in both acetate and nitrate media. In the course of the mechanistic study, the presence of a soluble intermediate during the nucleation step is clearly observed with a rotating ring-disk electrode. Decrease in the anodic ring current due to the reduction of soluble species formed during the anodic crystallization of lead dioxide at disk is detected.
The resilient packet ring (RPR) is a data optimized ring network, where one of the key issues is on load balancing for competing streams of elastic traffic. This paper suggests three efficient traffic loading algorithms on the RPR. For the algorithms, we evaluate their efficiency via analysis or simulation.
Results of magnetic measurement of a prototype Storage Ring dipole magnet for the Pohang Light Source (PLS) are summarized. Hall probe mapping and rotating coil methods are used to measure field profiles and integrated field properties. End chamfering experiments are performed on the as-built magnet, which has four removable pole-end pieces, to meet the specifications set from beam dy-namics requirement. The corrected magnet has efficiency of 99.7% at 2.0 GeV excitation ad higher order multipole error levels less than the specifications for all excitations, showing that the magnet has appropriate properties for the PLS Storage Ring.

In present article, utilizing the Love shell theory with volume fraction laws for the cylindrical shells vibrations provides a governing equation for the distribution of material composition of material. Isotopic materials are the constituents of these rings. The position of a ring support has been taken along the radial direction. The Rayleigh-Ritz method with three different fraction laws gives birth to the shell frequency equation. Moreover, the effect of height- and length-to-radius ratio and angular speed is investigated. The results are depicted for circumferential wave number, length- and height-radius ratios with three laws. It is found that the backward and forward frequencies of exponential fraction law are sandwich between polynomial and trigonometric laws. It is examined that the backward and forward frequencies increase and decrease on increasing the ratio of height- and length-to-radius ratio. As the position of ring is enhanced for clamped simply supported and simply supported-simply supported boundary conditions, the frequencies go up. At mid-point, all the frequencies are higher and after that the frequencies decreases. The frequencies are same at initial and final stage and rust itself a bell shape. The shell is stabilized by ring supports to increase the stiffness and strength. Comparison is made for non-rotating and rotating cylindrical shell for the efficiency of the model. The results generated by computer software MATLAB.

In this study a 3-component rotating balance, which is designed to measure the thrust (Fz) and two moment components (Mx, My) simultaneously for a rotor test jig, is designed and its performance is validated experimentally. The low voltage signal from the strain gages mounted on the balance is amplified with a rotating amplifier, which is then fed through a slip-ring unit into the data acquisition system. In order to validate the accuracy of the calibration matrix obtained from a static calibration test, an additional reaction type balance is used to measure the thrust from a model rotor simultaneously, and shows very good result. Finally, the expanded uncertainty value, which is obtained from ISO method is estimated to be $2.82\times10^{-1}$, and the balance turns out to be reliable.

In this research work, the analytical rotating vibration for functionally graded shell with ring supports are restricted to some volume fraction laws based on Rayleigh-Ritz technique. The frequencies of functionally grade cylindrical shells have been investigated for the distribution of material composition of material with two kinds of material. Stability of a cylindrical shell depends highly on these aspects of material with ring supports. The frequency behavior is investigated with fraction laws versus circumferential wave number, length-to-radius and height-to-radius ratios. The frequencies are higher for higher values of circumferential wave number. The frequency first increases and gain maximum value with the increase of circumferential wave mode. Moreover, the effect of angular speed is also investigated. It is examined that the backward and forward frequencies increases and decreases on increasing the ratio of height- and length-to-radius ratios.

Strain-gauges have been dominantly used to measure strain at various points on a rotor, however, either a slip ring or telemetry has to be used to send sensor signals to data acquisition instruments at stationary side. Both slip ring and telemetry have numerous inherent problems which force severe limitations in real applications. This paper introduces a new rotor condition monitoring system using FBG(Fiber Bragg Grating) sensors and a rotary optical coupler. A single optical fiber with many FBG sensors is installed on the rotor and an optical dynamic interrogator is installed at stationary side. The sensor signal connection between rotating part and stationary part is made by the rotary optical coupling method which makes use of light's unique characteristic-light travels through space. Broad band light source from the interrogator travels to the optical fiber on the rotor and reflected FBG sensor signals travel back to the optical fiber on stationary side and are connected to the interrogator. Rotary optical coupler's insertion loss change due to rotation is compensated by using a reference sensor installed at the center of the rotor. The proposed system's performance has been successfully demonstrated by accurately measuring strains at 5 points on a blade rotating at high speed.
In this paper, an electromechanical integrated harmonic piezodrive system is proposed. The operating principle of the drive system is introduced. The equation of the relationship between the displacements of the flexible ring and the rotating angle of the rotor is deduced. Using the equation, the displacements of the flexible ring for the drive system and their changes along with the system parameters are investigated. The results show that the displacements of the flexible ring changes periodically along with the rotation of the vibrator; there are abrupt changes in the displacements of the flexible ring at some points where there are abrupt changes in the number of the mesh teeth pair; the length of the flexible ring, the excitation voltage, and the speed ratio have obvious effects on the displacements of the flexible ring. The results are useful for the design of the drive system. ;
