CT사진을 이용한 한국인의 C형 치근관의 분포에 대한 연구 (The distribution of C-shaped canal system in Korean population with CT image)

  • Purpose: To investigate the incidence and prevalence of C-shaped root canal using computed tomographic images of head and neck in Korean population. Materials and Methods : Regardless of each examination purpose, randomly selected 268 examples which have serial axial computed tomographic images with 8 normal molars in maxilla and mandible were selected and investigated. Defined C-shaped root canal and we could get 82 proper image examples in view of this definition. These were detected and investigated of incidence and prevalence of C-shaped root canal. Results: C-shaped root canals were found in 82 examples among 268 (30.6%) and 147 teeth. They were only found on molar area, and the highest incidence was 37.41% of left mandibular second molars, and the lowest was 2.04% of right maxillary second molars. On prevalence of tooth position, mandibular second molar was the highest, 65% of C-shaped root canal teeth and maxillary second molar was 6% the lowest. Conclusion: 31% of randomly selected CT images no considering check-up reason have C-shaped root canals. The C-shaped root canals of mandibular second molar are found most frequently and they are also detectable on maxilla. On Korean population, C-shaped root canals are one of conditions that have to concern with dental treatment for it appears at a high prevalence relatively. A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE ANGLES BETWEEN CROWN AXIS AND ROOT AXIS IN MESIODISTAL DIRECTION BY USING ORTHOPANTOMOGRAM

  • Orthopantomogram is commonly used to evaluate root parallelism. "Good parallelism" between roots is widely accepted as one of the guidelines of a successful orthodontic treatment. In case there was a large angle between crown axis and root axis, and if we valued only the position of crown in establishing occlusal relationship without considering of the situation of root, the problem of root arrangement between adjacent teeth would be occurred. The estimate of root parallelism in mesiodistal direction before and after orthodontic treatment must be emphasized. The intent of this study was to determine the clinical importance and correlation of the angle between crown axis and root axis. Orthopantomograms of 105 orthodontic patients being treated in Yonsei university were used in this study. Twenty-eight teeth in both maxilla and mandible were selected and analyzed quantitively to evaluate the angle between crown axis and root axis, and obtain the correlationship among the individual teeth. The results are as follows: 1. Among the teeth presenting normal distribution, the maxillary right canine showed the largest mean value( $5.73{\pm}4.42^{\circ}$), which was composed of the crown-root angles, and the mandibular left lateral incisor showed the smallest mean value( $0.60{\pm}3.76^{\circ}$). 2. The crown-root angles of the maxillary incisors and the first molars, and the mandibular central incisors and the first molars didn't show normal distribution and the ranges of these angles were dispersed. 3. Significant differences were present between the crown axis and the root axis except for lower first premolars. (p<0.05) 4. No significant difference was present for the crown-root angle between right and left side, (p<0.05) 5. No significant difference was present for the crown-root angle between male and female except for lower left first premolar. (p<0.05) 6. In the upper right quadrant, significant correlations were present between crown-root angles of the central incisor and lateral incisor, lateral incisor and canine. In the upper left quadrant, significant correlations were present between crown-root angles of the central incisor and lateral incisor. In the lower right quadrant, significant correlations were present between crown-root angles of the central incisor and lateral incisor, first molar and second molar. In the lower left quadrant, significant correlations were present between crown-root angles of the central incisor and lateral incisor, lateral incisor and canine, first molar and second molar. Critical evaluation of fracture strength testing for endodontically treated teeth: a finite element analysis study

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate whether the diameter and direction of the plunger and simulation of the periodontal ligament (PDL) affected the stress distribution in endodontically treated premolars. Methods: A fracture strength test was simulated via finite element analysis. A base model was set up, and the following parameters were modified: plunger diameter (3 mm vs. 6 mm), plunger direction (vertical vs. $135^{\circ}$ angular to the central fossa), and PDL simulation. The analysis was conducted using the CosmosWorks structural analysis program, and the results are presented in terms of von Mises stresses. Results: The smaller plunger increased the stresses at the contact area of the crown, but the plunger diameter had no effect on the stress distribution within the root. An angular plunger direction increased stresses within the root, as well as at the buccal cusp of the crown, compared with the vertical direction. Simulation of the PDL caused higher stress accumulation, especially in the cervical region of the root. Conclusions: The plunger diameter had no effect on the stress distribution in the roots, whereas the plunger direction and PDL simulation did affect the stress distribution. More stringent standards can be established by taking such parameters into account when performing fracture testing in future studies.

  • In this paper distribution of welding residual stress on the double fillet welded joint which exits and not exits root gap, i.e. full penetration and partial penetration is investigated by two dimensional cunduct and thermal elasto-plastic analysis. And stress distribution on notch-tip of the structure where welding residual stress regarded as initial stress and then external load is added is also investigated.

  • Distribution of $P^{32}$ in a pot-grown plant of the radish was studied by means of fertilization with phospbate labeled with $P^{32}$ followed by autoradiography of the dried parts. (1) An accumulation of $P^{32}$ occurs in the growth point, the root of hair, the younger leaves and the top of leaves in the radish similary other plants. (2) In the yellow leaves of the radish it was counted too weak by monitor. (3) $P^{32}$ absorbed by the root in radish was transported through the xylem of the radishtissue.

  • We consider nonstationary autoregressive autoregressive process with infinite variance of error. In the case of infinite cariance, the limiting distribution of the estimated coefficient is different from that under the finite cariance assumption. In this paper we show that the bootstrap method can be used to approximate the distribution of ordinary least squares estimator of the coefficient in the first order random walk process with infinite variance through some empirical studies and we suggest a test procedure based on bootstrap method for the unit root test.

인삼부위별 및 건조온도에 따른 유리당의 함량변화 (Free sugar distribution in ginseng plant and change of it's content in the root with dehydration)

  • This study was conducted to investigate distribution of free sugas in the ginseng plant and change of free sugar content in dried ginseng with various drying conditions. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The total free sugar content is about 1% in the root and about 2% in the upland portions. Sucrose which accounts 80% in those free sugars, is 0.91% in main body 0.90% in raw ginseng, 0.74% in latheral root, 0.67% in head, 0.57% in skin, 0.64% in leaves, and 0.35% in steins. 2. Sucrose content is 3.3~4.6% in the ginseng root dried at temperature of 3$0^{\circ}C$ and 0.5 ~ 1% in the root dried it at temperature of 50-9$0^{\circ}C$. 3. Maltose was not present in fresh ginseng or dried ginseng which was dried under the t, but it was produced dried at the temperature above 5$0^{\circ}C$, it was 0.5% at 5$0^{\circ}C$, 1.49 %. at 7$0^{\circ}C$, and 4.03% at 9$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. This sugar Height be produced by endogenous saccharifying enzymes.

상악 구치부 임플랜트 보철수복시 치관/치근비에 따른 응력 분포에 대한 유한 요소 분석 (FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS ON MAXILLARY MOLAR IMPLANT UNDER DIFFERENT C/R RATIO)

  • Statement of the problem: In cases of low bone level in maxilla followed by extraction due to severe periodontitis or enlarged maxillary sinus, crown-root ratio of implant prosthesis will increase. The prognosis of these cases is not good as expected. Purpose : The purpose is to compare stress distribution due to crown-root ratio and effect of splinting between two implants in maxillary molar area under different loads Material and methods: Using ITI($4.1{\times}10$ mm) implant. two finite element models were made(model S: two parallel implants, model A: one of two is 20 degree inclined). Each model was designed in different crown-root ratio(0.7:1, 1:1, 1.25:1) and set cement type gold crown to make it splinted or non-splinted clinical situations. After that, 300 N force was loaded to each model in four ways.(load 1 : middle of occlusal table, load 2 : middle of buccal cusp, load 3 : middle of lingual cusp, load 4 : horizontal load to middle of buccal cusp), and stress distribution was analyzed. Results: On all occasions, stress was concentrated on neck of implant near cortical bone. In the case of inclined implant, stress was increased compared with parallel implants. Under load 1, 2, 3, stress was not increased even when crown-root ratio increases, but under load 4, when crown-root ratio increases, stress also increased. And more stress was concentrated under load 1 than load 2, 3. When crown-root ratio was same, stress under load 1, 2, 3 decreased when splinting, but under load 4, stress did not really decrease. Conclusion: Under vertical load, stress distribution related to crown-root ratio did not change. But under horizontal load, stress increased as crown-root ratio increases. Under vertical load, splinting decreased stress but under horizontal load, effect of splinting was decreased as condition of implant changes for the worse such as increase of crown-root ratio, inclined implant.

유한요소법을 이용한 치근단절제술후 근첨의 응력분포에 관한 연구 (FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF STRESS DISTRIBUTION IN ROOT-END RESECTED TEETH)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the distribution of stress in the root end resected teeth. The finite element method was used to compare stresses along the root and retrograde filling material in seven two-dimensional models of mandibular 2nd premolar. Each model was endodontic treatment and gold crown' restoration. Each model divided with amagam core restoration or gold casting post restoration. Thus each model divided with shape of root end resection, depth of retropreparation and exposure length of root in the bony cavity. The seven models were classified as in the table 1 below. A load of 500N was applied $45^{\circ}$ diagonally on the lingual slope of the buccal cusp. These mode were analyzed with two dimensional finite element methods. The results of this study were as follows : 1. The maximum tensile stress along the inner canal wall was shown on the model 7. 2. When the model 1 was compared with the model 5, the maximum tensile stress along the inner canal wall showed the model 1. 3. Less equivalent stress was shown on the model 6 and more equivalent stress was shown on the model 4. 4. More shear stress was shown on the retrograde filling material of the model 7. 5. The models with increased length of exposed root in the bony cavity demonstrated a gradual increase to the tensile stress in X direction which occurred approximately a boundary between the bone and exposed root in' the bony cavity. 6. The model which had a case of matching the apex of post and a boundary between the bone and exposed root in the bony cavity demonstrated more increase tensile stress in X direction than other models.

해송(海松)의 근계밀도(根系密度)의 분포(分布)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Distribution of root density in Pinus thunbergii Parlatore)

  • The depth and spread of root systems and the density of root branching affect the success and survival of plants subjected to drought. The type and size of root systems are controlled by heredity and soil conditions. There are also important interaction between roots and shoots; roots are dependent on shoots for carbohydrates, growth regulators, and certain vitamins, and shoots are dependent on roots for water, minerals, and certain growth regulators. Pinus thunbergii Parlatore had most of roots in the top 20cm of soil, and had little short of roots in the less than 80cm of soil. Average of root density was $270cm/cm^3$ in the upper soil(0~20cm). Root density of Pinus thunbergii Parlatore was similar to that of Cryptomeria japonica. There is no saying that Pinus thunbergii Parlatore has an advantage over Cryptomeria japonica in the drought. This data will be used to the root density values in the simulation model of black pine stands.
