How Does the Frequency of Instructor Feedback Affect Perceived Loafing and Team Performance in Team Project-Based Learning? A Moderated Mediation Approach

  • This study focuses on the instructor's role in student-centered learning and aims to test the effects and moderating role of instructor feedback on perceived loafing in team project-based learning. A conditional effect model including team efficacy, perceived loafing, instructor feedback, and team performance was proposed. Data were collected from students who registered for team project-based learning courses at a university in South Korea. A total of 420 cases were subjected to moderated mediation analysis. The results demonstrated that instructor feedback was negatively related to perceived loafing and moderated the relationship between team efficacy and perceived loafing. Furthermore, instructor feedback moderated the relationship between perceived loafing and team performance. In particular, even when perceived loafing was high, students who received frequent instructor feedback were found to significantly reduce the damage to team performance. Based on these findings, the importance of instructors' facilitation in team project-based learning is discussed.

  • 건설 프로젝트를 성공하기 위해서는 핵심 이해관계자인 발주자와 시공사의 협력적 관계가 무엇보다 중요하다. 거래 상대방의 행동에 영향을 미치거나 통제 할 수 있는 권력은 건설 프로젝트에서 이해관계자간에 협력적인 행동을 유발 할 수 있는 요소로 간주될 수 있다. 또한, 거래 비용 이론에 따르면 계약은 효과적으로 거래 상대방의 행동에 영향을 미친다. 권력에 추가하여 계약 또한 시공자의 협력적 행동을 설명 할 수 있는 요소라고 할 수 있다. 건설 프로젝트에서 시공사의 협력적 행동을 유발하기 위해 발주자의 권력이 유효한 영향력을 미치는지는 매우 흥미로운 주제이다. 한편, 계약의 기능에 대한 심층적인 이해는 성공적인 건설 프로젝트 관리에 있어 필수적인 부분이다. 본 연구에서는 국내 건설 프로젝트에서 발주자의 권력 및 계약의 기능과 시공자의 행동 사이의 매커니즘을 탐색 해 보고자 한다.

A mediating role of social capital between corporate social responsibility and corporate reputation: Perception of local university on CSR of KHNP

  • Purpose: Most of all studies regarding corporate social responsibility have been dealing with its direct performance. Many previous studies provided the evidence that corporate social responsibility activities directly affect firms' competitiveness or corporate reputation. However, there are no studies regarding the role of social capital between corporate social responsibility and firms' competitiveness. The present study aims to examine a mediating role of social capital between corporate social responsibility and corporate reputation. Research design, data and methodology: The structural equation model integrating corporate social responsibility, social capital, and corporate reputation was proposed with three hypotheses. Questionnaire including 15 question items for three concepts was designed. Data for testing hypotheses were collected from students and staff who had experienced the social responsibility activities of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Co. Ltd. SPSS and SmartPLS were used to analyze data. Results: All three hypotheses were supported at the significance level of 0.01. Corporate social responsibility have a significant influence on social capital as well as corporate reputation. Social capital plays a mediating role in the relationship between corporate social responsibility and corporate reputation. Conclusions: The present paper identified a missing link between corporate social responsibility and corporate reputation by validating an indirect effect of corporate social responsibility on corporate reputation through social capital. The present study contributes to finding the indirect link between corporate social responsibility and corporate reputation. Implications for academics and practitioners. The research model can be extended to analyze the relationship between corporate social responsibility and its performance. The present study sheds light on identification of a new role of social capital. Managers of firms have the opportunity to recognize the fact that investment recovery of corporate social responsibility results from social capital and corporate reputation in long-term rather than short-term. The results of this study offers an insight that managers can enhance customer loyalty. The process linking corporate social responsibility to corporate reputation through social capital implies that firms can realize spiritual marketing delivering authentic storytelling through corporate social responsibility. The present study has a limitation for generalizing of research results because the sampling came from a case of firm.

  • 이 연구는 유도지도자의 역할지각과 코칭행동 및 코칭자신감의 관계를 실증적으로 구명하는데 목적이 있었다. 이와 같은 연구목적에 따라 이 연구에서는 2016년 대한유도회에 등록된 기관의 지도자들을 모집단으로 설정하고 편의표집방법을 이용하여 223명의 표본을 수집하였다. 이중 불성실하게 응답하는 등 신뢰성이 없다고 판단되는 설문지를 제외하고 최종적으로 196명의 표본을 실제 분석에 사용하였다. 구체적으로 통계프로그램인 IBM SPSS Statistics v21과 IBM SPSS Amos v21을 활용하여 빈도분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 확인적 요인분석, 신뢰도분석, 상관관계분석, 구조방정식모형 분석을 실시하였으며, 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유도지도자의 역할지각은 코칭행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유도지도자의 역할지각은 코칭자신감에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 유도지도자의 코칭행동은 코칭자신감에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

남.녀 대학생의 강간통념 수용도, 성역할 고정관념에 대한 연구 (Analysis of Rape Myths Acceptance and Gender Role Stereotype among Female and Male University Students)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to clarify the relationship between analysis of rape myths acceptance and gender role stereotype among university students. Method: First-year students at two three-year colleges in Jeonnam and two three-year colleges in Jeonbuk (n=406) were selected by convenience sampling. Of these, responses from 386 (95.8%) were analyzed. Result: Rape myths acceptance in male students was significantly higher than female students (t=5.400, p=.00). In terms of gender role stereotype, male students were significantly higher than female students (t=3.869, p<.001). The relationship between rape myths acceptance and gender role stereotype was in the middle range of correlation: male students' correlation coefficient was r=.520 (=p<.001), and female students' was r=.524 (p=<.001). Conclusion: The results indicate that university students' attitudes toward sex have not been properly established yet. Moreover, they highlight that in our society there still exists a male dominated social structure and inequality of sexes. To prevent sexual violation from occurring at the universities, it is necessary that programs to establish proper attitudes of students toward these two factors, should be developed and the results monitored frequently. In addition, cross sectional studies aimed at understanding rape myths acceptance and gender role stereotypes are needed.

농촌부부의 배우자역할평가와 결혼만족도 (- Role Evaluation of the Spouse and its Efect on Marital Satisfaction Among the Korean Rural Couples -)

  • This study is designed to understand marital relationships of the rural couples in Korea. The primary purposes of this study are to examine the relationship between marital satisfaction and role evaluation of the spouse and to construct a path model in which shows the relationships among background variables, role evaluation of the spouse and marital satisfaction. Structured guestionnaires from 435 couples with school-age children and teenagers living in rural area are analyzed in this study. The major findings are as follows : 1. Factor analysis of the role evaluation of the spouse results I 4 factors for both husbands and wives; emotional support-sexual role child socialization-economic role, kinship role and housekeeping role. 2. The most important factor influencing the marital satisfaction is the role evaluation of the spouse o emotional support-sexual relation. While the number of children, and role evaluations of the spouse influence directly on the marital satisfaction of the wives, age, level of education, level of income and husband's occupation influence indirectly through role evaluations of the spouse on that of wives. 3. For husbands, family life cycle and their occupation influence indirectly on the marital satisfaction of the husbands and the marital satisfaction of them is also mediated by role evaluations of the wieves. Level of income of the family not only influences directly on marital satisfaction but influences on it indirectly. 4. Marital satisfaction is mediated by role evaluations of the spouse. The role evaluation of the spouse on emotional support-sexual relation has the most powerful effect on the marital satisfaction for both wives and husbands. About 60 percent of the variance in the marital satisfaction of rural couples can be explained by the role evaluation of the spouse. therefore, the result of the result of the study indicates that the role evaluation of the spouse on emotional support-sexual relation plays a significant part in determining the marital satisfaction of rural couples.

Assessment of LMX as Mediator in Procedural Justice - Organizational Citizenship Behavior Relationship

  • Purpose: Organizational justice is not considered as objective variable, but considerably, it is the employee's perceptions about an organization. Since the last four decades, researchers endorsed the significant importance of organizational justice on motivation and work behaviours like turnover intentions, trust, motivation, organizational commitment, job satisfaction, in-role and organizational citizenship behaviour. Accordingly, scant literature is available on procedural justice - organizational citizenship behaviour via mediating role of leader-member exchange (LMX) in higher education context especially in Asian countries like Pakistan. Research Design, Data and Methodology: Cross - sectional study design was used and data was collected from the 452 permanent and contractual teaching faculty serving in different positions at private and public sector degree awarding institutes / universities accredited by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. Mediated regression analysis, as proposed by Baron and Kenny (1986), was employed to address the research hypothesis. Results: Results showed that procedural justice and LMX was positively impacted on OCB and LMX also fully mediates the relationship of procedural justice and organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB). Conclusion: The result indicated that LMX fully mediates the relationship of procedural justice and organizational citizenship behaviour.

할인점의 사회적 책임 활동과 점포태도간의 관계 : 지역애착도의 조절효과 (The Relationship between CSR Activities and Attitude toward Discount Store: The Moderating Role of Community Attachment)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 소비자 관점에서 할인점의 사회적 책임 활동과 점포태도간의 관계를 실증함과 동시에 그러한 관계의 경계 조건으로 지역애착도의 조절효과를 규명하는데 있다. 1,118명의 할인점 이용 고객을 대상으로 수집된 자료가 분석에 이용되었으며, 분석 결과 사회공헌활동, 소비자보호, 환경보호와 같은 사회적 책임 활동이 점포태도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 지역사회공헌활동과 소비자보호는 지역애착도가 높은 소비자의 경우에 점포태도에 미치는 영향력이 증가하는 조절효과를 보여 주었다. 이러한 결과에 대한 이론적 및 실무적 시사점과 향후 연구 방향이 제시되었다.

Changes of Electrolytes, Hematological Indices, and Cytokines following Dietary Magnesium Deficiency in Rats

  • Magnesium (Mg) plays an essential role in physiological and metabolic reactions. Recently, there has been an increased interest in the role of Mg deficiency, particularly the relationship between serum Mg value and inflammatory response. This study was designed to determine the relationship between serum Mg deficiency with inflammatory response, electrolytes and hematological alteration over long-term periods. Sixteen male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into two groups: control (n=8), and Mg deficiency group (MgD group, n=8). Chow and normal water (tap water) were regularly provided to the control group and Mg-depleted chow and third distilled water were regularly provided for 60 days to the MgD group. Body weights, Serum Mg, $K^+$, inorganic phosphorus (IP) and total iron binding capacity (TIBC) levels in the MgD group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). Granulocyte fraction and MCV, RDW and PDW levels were higher, whereas lymphocyte fraction, erythrocyte, hemoglobin and MCHC levels were lower in the MgD group than in the control group (P<0.05). MCP-1 and TNF-${\alpha}$ levels in the MgD group were greater than those of the control group (P<0.05). In conclusion, the results of the present study suggest that Mg deficiency over a long-term period had not altered total leukocyte concentration in the blood, but had detrimental effects, including disturbances of electrolytes balance, disturbance of iron indices, potential anemia and elevation of pro-inflammatory cytokine. However, further studies should be performed to determine the relationship between serum Mg deficiency and major organ damage or alteration.

  • There are many studies which reveal most of the accidents are related to pilot errors. Looking at each phase of flight, the accidents which occurred at the segments of take-off and landing consist of 70%, cause these phases need precise cooperations between pilots and ATC specialists to make sure every instructions understood and instruments to be normal. Therefore, the accidents of these phases leave great regrets and the price was enormous to people and equipments. Until now, most of the studies investigate the accident itself and very few show the relationships between pilots and air traffic controllers. This study analyzes the impacts of inter-dependence to mutual trust, cooperations and relationship efficiency between them who play important parts in flight. Based upon the findings, the inter-dependence has an effect on mutual trust and the latter influences to cooperations. Also, mutual trust and cooperations have a leading role in the relationship efficiency. It implies that mutual trust, cooperations, and the degree of inter-dependence are important factors to improve the relationships between them.
