충격력에 대한 인체의 머리와 목의 동력학적 응답특성 (Characteristiis of Dynamic Response in the Human Head and Neck to Implusive Loading)

  • A numerical human head/neck model was constructed for analyzing the implication in decleration injuries. This model consists of nine rigid bodies representing the head, cervical vertebrae C1-C7, and T1. These rigid bodies were connected by intervertebral disks described by massless beam elements. Muscles and ligaments were also incoperated in the model represented by nonlinear spring and viscoblastic element respectively Agreement of the analytical kinematic response with the results of experimental data from a volunteer run was satisfactory. Moreover, possible injury estimation from the calculated moment, force variations in the disc, and force variation in ligaments matched well with clinical observations.

The vertical spanning strip wall as a coupled rocking rigid body assembly

  • The equation of motion of a one way (vertical) spanning strip wall, as an assembly of two rigid bodies, is presented. Only one degree of freedom is needed to completely describe the wall response as the bodies are assumed to be perfectly rectangular and are allowed to rock but not to slide horizontally. Furthermore, no arching action occurs since vertical motion of the upper body is not restrained. Consequently, the equation of motion is nonlinear, with non constant coefficients and a Coriolis acceleration term. Phenomena associated with overburden to self weight ratio, motion triggering, impulsive energy dissipation, amplitude dependency of damping and period of vibration, and scale effect are discussed, contributing to a more complete understanding of experimental observations and to an estimation of system parameters based on the wall characteristics, such as intermediate hinge height and energy damping, necessary to perform nonlinear time history analyses. A comparison to a simple standing, or parapet, wall is developed in order to better highlight the characteristics of this assembly.

인대 구조에 기인한 유연 경첩 관절의 설계 (Design of Compliant Hinge Joints inspired by Ligamentous Structure)

  • This paper suggests novel types of joint mechanisms composed of elastic strings and rigid bodies. All of the human hinge joints have the articular capsule and a pair of collateral ligaments. These fibrous tissues make the joint compliant and stable. The proposed mechanism closely imitates the human hinge joint structure by using the concept of tensegrity. The resultant mechanism has several characteristics shown commonly from both the tensegrity structure and the human joint such as compliance, stability, lightweight, and non-contact between rigid bodies. In addition, the role and feature of the human hinge joints vary according to the origins of a pair of collateral ligaments. Likewise, the locations of two strings corresponding to a pair of collateral ligaments produce different function and motion of the proposed mechanism. It would be one of the advantages obtained from the proposed mechanism. How to make a joint mechanism with different features is also suggested in this paper.

변형체-강체 다물체 해석을 이용한 초중량물 핸들링로봇의 평가 (Estimation on Heavy Handling Robot using Flexible-Rigid Multibody Analysis)

  • A flexible-rigid multibody analysis was pen armed to examine the dynamic response of a heavy handling robot system under a worst motion scenario. A rigid body dynamics analysis was solved and compared with flexible-rigid multibody analysis. The modal analysis and test were also carried out to establish the accuracy and the validation of the finite element model used in this paper. For the flexible-rigid multibody simulation, stresses in several major bodies were interested, so that those parts are flexible and other parts are modeled as rigid body in order to reduce computer resources.

강체요소법(剛體要素法)에 의한 보강판(補剛板)의 붕괴해석(崩壞解析) (Collapse Analysis of Stiffened Plates by Rigid Element Method)

  • A new discrete method using idealized rigid body-spring model is introduced. This rigid element method is known to be more efficient and accurate than the finite element method in the inelastic range of structural analysis owing to simplified stress-strain and strain-displacement relations This kind of physical concept using idealized rigid model has been already applied among structural engineers to some problems such as rigid-plastic analysis or plastic design considering rigid bodies and plastic hinges. However the most rigorous and systematic research has been recently performed by T. Kawai et al.[1]. In this paper, an attempt is made to analyze the collapse behavior of stiffened plates under lateral loading by some modification and expansion of Kawai's rigid element approach to the collapse of plates without stiffener. Stiffened plates are treated as orthotropic plates which have equivalent bending rigidities. By employing Morley's plate element resubdivision technique, variety is given to mesh-division styles which have greate effect on the accuracy of numerical results. Some examples are shown to verify the validity of applying rigid element method to the ultimate strength analysis of stiffened plates. It is clarified that lateral deflections and detailed collapse patterns up to the ultimate state of stiffened plates can be easily obtained by the present approach.

기도 이물의 임상적 고찰 (A Retrospective Review of Tracheobronchial Foreign Bodies)

  • Background : The development of bronchoscopic equipment along with the precision of radiographic techniques had reduced the mortality rate of patients with tracheobronchial foreign bodies but has been no change in the incidence of tracheobronchial foreign bodies since their introduction. The aim of this study was to assess the clinical characteristics of a tracheobronchial foreign body aspiration and to evaluate the efficacy of the treatment modality in children and adults. Methods : This is a retrospective review of 64 patients who underwent bronchoscopic procedures for the treatment of aspirated foreign bodies from December 1994 through March 2004 at the Chonnam national university hospital. Results : There were 47 males and 17 females, aged from 1 month to 78 years. Most of the patients had no underlying illness except for one patient with a cerebrovascular accident that contributed to the foreign body aspiration. The most common symptom was cough, which was noted in 54 patients (84.3%). The other presenting symptoms were dyspnea (48.8%), fever (20.3%), sputum (14%), vomiting (7.8%), and chest pain (4.6%). Those whose tracheobronchial foreign bodies were diagnosed more than 2 days after the aspiration (21 patients) were more likely to have pneumonia than those whose foreign bodies were diagnosed within 2 days (p = 0.009). Foreign bodies were visualized in the plain chest radiographs in 12 cases (18.8%), while others showed air trapping (21, 32.8%), pneumonia (15, 23.4%), atelectasis (7, 10.9%), and normal findings (9, 14.1%). The foreign bodies were more frequently found in the right bronchial tree (36) compared with the left bronchial tree (22, p = 0.04). In order to remove the foreign bodies, twenty (31.2%) cases were removed using flexible bronchoscopy, while 42 (65.6%) and 2 (3.2%) cases required rigid bronchoscopy and surgery, respectively. Conclusions : Tracheobronchial Foreign body aspiration had a bimodal age distribution in the infancy and old age around 60 years. They were found more frequently in the right bronchial tree. In addition, patients whose foreign bodies were diagnosed more than 2 days after the aspiration were more likely have a infection. Rigid bronchoscopy is the procedure of choice for uncooperative children and for those with foreign bodies lodged deeply in the small bronchial tree.

  • 본 논문은 강체간의 충돌에 의한 충격력에 대한 수학적 정해 및 고준위폐기물 처분용기의 지면 추락낙하사고 시의 충돌충격에의 응용 논문으로 강체간 충돌에 의해 발생하는 충격력 특히 고준위폐기물 처분용기의 지면 추락낙하 충격사고 시 처분용기에 가해지는 충격력을 구하는 기구동역학 수치해석 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 통하여 고준위폐기물 처분용기의 구조안전성 설계과정에서 요구되는 처분용기 처분 시 사고로 추락낙하 하여 지면과 충돌하는 경우 처분용기에 가해지는 충격력을 수치적으로 구하였다. 수치해석 연구의 주된 내용은 기구동역학해석 상용 컴퓨터코드를 이용하여 처분장에서 운반차량으로 처분용기 운반중 사고로 추락낙하 하여 지면과의 충돌 시에 처분용기에 가해지는 충격력을 구하는 기술적인 방법에 관한 것이며 이를 토대로 지면과 충돌하는 처분용기에 발생하는 충격력을 구하는 문제를 수치적으로 다루었다. 이렇게 수치적으로 구한 충격력을 이론적으로 구한 값들과 비교하였다. 비교결과 이론값들과 잘 일치함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 강체 간 충돌에 의해 발생하는 충격력을 얻는 수학적 방법이 이론적으로 연구되었다. 이 이론적 방법은 사고로 지면에 추락낙하 하는 고준위폐기물 처분용기에 가해지는 충격력을 구하는 데에 적용되었다. 이 연구로부터 고준위폐기물 처분용기의 구조 안전성 설계에 요구되는 충격력이 이론적으로 유도되었다. 이론연구의 주된 내용은 두 강체의 충돌 시 강체운동학과 운동방정식에 관한 것이다. 이를 토대로 두 물체 간 충돌 시 발생하는 충격력을 구하는 일반적인 충격이론이 개발되었다. 이 충격이론을 처분장에서 처분용기 운송 시 운반차량에서 사고로 추락낙하 하여 지면과 충돌하는 처분용기에 발생하는 충격력을 구하는 문제에 적용하여 충격력에 대한 수학적 근사해를 이론적으로 구하였다. 동시에 컴퓨터코드를 이용한 수치해석을 수행하여 구한 수치해를 수학적 근사해와 비교하였다.

R. E. M. 에 의한 벽식 PRE-CAST 구조물의 탄성해석 (Elastic Analysis of Pre-Cast Panel Structures By Rigid Element method)

  • In the analysis pre-cast large panel structures, we can use the new discrete analyzing method to be consisted of rigid bodies. Because the pre-cast panels we still more rigid than the connection, the rigid element method is more efficient numerical method than F. E. M. The characteristics of R. E. M. is that strains in element are not occurred by external loadings and the deformation of the structures by external loadings is transmitted through springs around elements. In this study, we focus on the comparison of the results from the R. E. M. and the F. E. M. in order to establish the validity of the R. E. M. to analysis of pre-cast panel structures.

Motion of rigid unsymmetric bodies and coefficient of friction by earthquake excitations

  • Motions of an unsymmetric rigid body on a rigid floor subjected to earthquake excitations with special attention to coefficient of friction are investigated. Motions of a body in a plane are classified (Ishiyama 1980) into six types, i.e. (1) rest, (2) slide, (3) rotation, (4) slide rotation, (5) translation jump, (6) rotation jump. Based upon the theoretical and experimental research work special attention is paid to the sliding of a body. The equations of motions and the behavior of coefficient of friction in the time of floor excitation are studied. One of the features of this investigation is the introduction and estimation of the "time dependent" coefficient of friction. It has been established that the constant kinetic coefficient of friction $${\mu}(kin){\sim_\sim}0.8{\mu}(stat)$$ does not give the appropriate results. The method for the estimation of the friction coefficient variation during the time is given.
