절수의 시기 및 방법의 차이가 수도의 생육수량과 기타 실용형질에 미치는 영향

  • Higher yield in rice paddies is greatly dependent on adequately balanced and timely supply of water. A majority of rice paddy in Korea is generally irrigated by rainfall, but in many cases it has to be supplemented by artificial irrigation for optimum rice culture. Although the water requirement of rice plant is for higher Than that of athec crops, submerged condition of rice paddy is not Necessarily required. The moisture requirement of rice plant varies with its growing stages, and it is possible to increase the irrigation efficiency through reduction of water loss due to percolation in rice paddies. An experimental plots were set up by means of sandomized block design with three duplication; (a) All time submerged, (b) Economically controlled, and (c) Extremely controlled. Three different irrigation periods Were (a) Initial sage, (b) Inter-stage, and (c) Yast stage. The topsoil of the three plots were excavated to the depth of 30 cm and then compacted with clay of 6 cm thickness. There after, they were piled up with the excavated top soils, leveled and cored with clay of 6 cm thickness around footpath in order to prevent leakage. The results obtained from the experiments are as follows, 1. There is no difference among the three experiments plots in terms of physical and chemical conditions, soil properties, and other characteristics. 2. Culm length and ear length are not affected by different irrigation methods. 3. There is no difference in the mature rate and 1, 000 grain weight of rice for the three plots. 4. The control plot which was irrigated every three days shows an increased yield over the all the time submerged plot by 17.8 percent. 5. The clay lined plot whose water holding capacity was held 5 days long, needs only to be irrigated every 7 days. 6. The clay lined plot shows an increased yield over the untreated plot ; over all-the-time submerged plot by 18 percent ; extremely controlled plot by 18 percent, and economically controlled plot by 33 percent. 7. It may be saved in water requirement about one Thirds.

High ranavirus infection rates at low and extreme temperatures in the tadpoles of Japanese treefrogs (Dryophytes japonicus) that breed in rice paddies in the summer

  • Background: Several species of amphibians in agricultural areas are often infected with ranaviruses; however, the biological or ecological factors that cause this infection are not well understood. In this study, we investigated whether local tadpole density, Gosner developmental stage, and weather conditions affected ranavirus infection in Dryophytes japonicus tadpoles in rice paddies over three months. Results: During the study, eight samplings were undertaken between June 6 and August 21, 2022. No die-off of tadpoles occurred, but 20 of 110 tadpoles (18.8%) were found to be infected with ranavirus. The tadpole density at the sampling site and Gosner stage of the sampled tadpoles were not related to the daily ranavirus infection rate. The mean daily highest temperature during the two weeks prior to the sampling date and the mean daily lowest and highest temperatures during the week prior to the sampling date were negatively related to the daily infection rate. Conclusions: Our results suggest that low and extreme temperatures caused by flooding and draining of paddy fields or climate change in summer could be a significant risk factor for ranavirus infection in summer-breeding frogs in agricultural areas.

철원지역에서 월동하는 두루미류의 지형과 식생에 의한 미소 취식지 선호성 (Micro Feeding Site Preference of Wintering Cranes by Topography and Vegetation in Cheorwon Basin, Korea)

  • 두루미류 취식무리의 미소 취식지 선호에 대한 특성을 밝히기 위하여 철원지역에서 월동기인 2005년 12월에서 2006년 2월, 2007년 1월에서 2월까지 총 12회 실시하였다. 두루미와 재두루미가 먹이로 하는 쌀 낙곡의 밀도는 논의 중앙보다 가장자리에 많았다. 하지만, 두루미류는 논의 중앙보다는 논둑 인근 지역을 취식장소로 이용하는 경우가 많았다. 상대적으로 재두루미는 두루미에 비하여 논의 중앙 지역을 취식장소로 이용하는 비율이 높았다. 두루미의 경우 논둑이 높고 논둑 식생의 높이가 높은 경우와 논둑 높이와 식생의 높이를 합한 높이가 높은 경우를 취식위치로 선호하였다. 재두루미는 논둑, 식생, 논둑과 식생의 높이 합이 키에 비하여 높은 경우를 선호하지 않았다. 또한, 두루미와 재두루미에서 모두 은폐지역에서 취식하는 비율이 날씨요인과 관계가 없었다. 이러한 결과는 두루미류가 개방된 취식지(수평가시권이 넓은 지역)를 선호한다는 기존 가설과는 달리 은폐된 취식지를 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 종간의 비교에서는 두루미가 재두루미에 비하여 은폐된 지역을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 무리크기별 은폐지역과 비은폐지역 취식비율은 두루미와 재두루미 모두 무리크기를 고려하지 않은 취식비율과 차이가 없었다. 결과적으로 두루미가 은폐지역을 선호하고 재두루미가 은폐지역에 상관없이 취식지를 선택하는 경향은 취식무리의 크기에 좌우되지 않는 종 특이적인 성향을 보였다.

수도 재배환경 중 제초제 Cyclosulfamuron의 잔류특성 (Dissipation of Cyclosulfamuron in Rice Paddies)

  • Sulfamoylurea계 제초재의 일종인 cyclosulfamuron의 수도재배환경중 잔류특성을 평가하고자 2개 지역의 포장 및 실험실조건에서 토양 중 잔류성, 토양/토양수 및 수직적 잔류량 분포, 그리고 수확물인 현미 및 볏짚 중 잔류수준을 조사하였다. 경산 및 영천토양 중 잔류특성은 1차 분해반응의 양상을 보였으며 그 반감기는 포장과 실험실조건에서 각각 $17{\sim}30$일 및 $14{\sim}16$일로 나타났다. 입제살포 후 유효성분의 토양/토양수간 분포비율은 시간이 경과할수록 토양으로의 분포비율이 높아졌으며 토양 및 토양수에서의 반감기는 각각 19일과 10일이었다. 감수심 5 cm/일 조건으로 10일간 수행한 용탈 실험에서 cyclosulfamuron은 토심 $0{\sim}4\;cm$에 주로 분포하였으며 토양중 수직이동성은 상당히 제한적이었다. 포장조건에서 입제 및 액상수화제를 수확전 $120{\sim}150$일 전에 $1{\sim}2$회 처리하고 수확한 현미 중 잔류량은 제형, 살포시기 및 회수에 관계없이 모두 0.01 mg/kg 미만이었으며 볏짚중 잔류량은 $<0.02{\sim}0.05$ mg/kg 범위였다. Cyclosulfamuron의 토양 및 토양수 중 비교적 빠른 소실속도와 낮은 이동성을 고려할 때 약제살포에 따른 잔류분이 다른 환경계로의 전이되거나 후작물에 대한 2차 약해를 유발할 가능성은 매우 낮은 것으로 평가된다. 또한 수확물 중 낮은 잔류수준과 독성학적 특성을 감안할 때 수확물 중 잔류분으로 인한 만성독성학적 부작용은 무시하여도 좋다고 판단된다.

벼의 숙기와 논의 인접환경이 쥐의 종류구성과 벼의 피해에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Rice Ripening Time and Neighboring Habitat on Rodent Species Composition and Crop Damage)

  • 1973.9.7-10.11까지 우리나라에 있어서 농작물의 피해에 가장 크게 영향하는 쥐의 종류와 주요 서식처를 밝히고자 강원도와 경기도 일환을 대상으로 10개소의 논에 대하여 피해조사를 실시하였다. 조사결과 전체적으로는 1971년도 벼의 평균피경률 조생종 $14.2\%$ 중만생종 $14.2\%$ 보다 월등히 남은 조생종 $063\%$ 및 중만생종 $0.26\%$이었다. 그러나 대부분의 피해는 농가로부터 50m(간혹 l100m)이내에서 심하게 나타났고 피해의 원인이 되는 주요 쥐종류는 시궁쥐 (Rattus norvegicus Caraco)와 등줄쥐 (Apodemus agrarius)이었다. 1974. 4. 9-4.18까지 전국대표적인 지역을 순회하면서 농민과 농촌지도원을 대상으로 광범위한 여론을 수집한 바 우리나라에 있어서 쥐에 의한 농작물의 피해는 농촌부락에서 서식월동하는 쥐의 개체군에 밀접한 관련을 가지고 있음이 확인되었다.

하수종말처리장 방류수를 논 관개용수로 처리시 벼 생육 및 토양환경 영향 조사 - 라이시미터 재배실험 - (Rice Growth Response and Soil Quality by Domestic Wastewater Irrigation on Rice Paddy Field - Lysimeter experiment -)

  • The application of domestic wastewater on rice paddies results in the accumulation of sodium(Na$^+$) to the soil. Excessive concentration of sodium may cause the deterioration of the physical characteristics of the soil, change in the osmosis of the soil, destruction of soil aggregates as well as ion toxicity due to sodium accumulation. Using domestic wastewater as irrigation water should be preceded by measures to prevent or control the soil salinization caused by sodium. Agricultural reuse of domestic wastewater were found not to cause serious problems with food safety due to heavy metals. However, pre-treatment using ultraviolet or ozone is recommended to reduce the number of bacteria and gem and for public health reasons. Using domestic wastewater has shown that reducing the standard application of chemical fertilizers by as much as 50% reduced the harvesting index by only 10%. This study has shown that it is feasible to reuse domestic wastewater on rice paddies. In order to facilitate the application, it is deemed necessary to establish wastewater treatment technologies in the future, to review criteria for recycling domestic wastewater for agricultural purposes such as conditions of soil and cropping system and to resolve conflicts with farmers and public health issues.

벼 수확후 산물건조, 저장 및 가공방법 일관화 연구 (Alined Technology of Rice Complex Center consisted of Bulk Drying, Storage and Processing)

  • Although the drying times of paddies were significantly shortened by the application of higher drying temperatures, the 12, 10 and 8 hours were needed for the reduction of moisture contents from 23.55 to 15% at the temperatures of 45, 50 and 55$\^{C}$, respectively. Milling yields(MY) and rice rates(HRR) were decreased by increasing of the drying temperature. The MY ratios were 75.50, 75.42 and 75.31% and HRR were 93.28, 92.14 and 91.12% in drying temperature of 40, 50 and 55$\^{C}$, respectively. In the milling processes of tough rice with the used of a milling machine equipped with both of abrasive and friction types in a body, the reduction rates of bran and the occurrence of broken rice increased with the pressures at outlet or the recycled passing tines. In the process for humidified friction whitening of rice, it was found that the optimum addition rate of water for the best quality was the 11.2 liters per tone of white rice.

간질(肝蛭)의 중간숙주(中間宿主)인 애기물달팽이에 대한 몇가지 농약(農藥)의 독성시험(毒性試驗) (Toxicity of agricultural chemicals on Lymnaea viridis the intermediate host of Fasciola hepatica)

  • In the present study, the effects of 4 agricultural chemicals commonly used in this conuntry were experimentally assessed on Lymnaea viridis the intermediate host of Fasciola hepatica, which in non-target organism of these chemicals. The major habitat of the snail is rice paddies in Korea and many agricultural chemicals are used for weed, fungi or insect control in rice paddies and there is a general concern that certain levels of these chemicals could reach the aquatic ecosystem and possible alter the snail life. Agricultural chemicals used in this study included two herbicides, an insecticide and a fungicide. The tenth generation of laboratory reared snails were selected and exposed to the varying concentrations(0-100 ppm) of these chemicals. As concentrations and time of exposure increase, the per cent mortality increases(p<0.01). $LC_{50}$(lethal concentration for 50% mortality) values of these chemicals on snail after 96-hour exposure were variable; iprobenfos showed the highest acute toxicity(12.6 ppm), while carbofuran showed the lowest acute toxicity(74.5ppm). Sublethal concentrations of chemicals after 96-hour exposure were also variable ; bentazone showed the highest chronic toxicity(0.81ppm), while carbofuran showed the lowest chronic toxicity(5.04 ppm).

담수답의 특성을 고려한 중금속 오염 농경지의 토양개량공법 효과 검토 (An Investigation on the Effect of Stabilization Methods for Rice Paddies contaminated by Heavy Metal considering Characteristics of submerged Paddy)

  • In order to investigate on the effect of stabilization methods for rice paddies contaminated by heavy metals, a series of lab-scale model test was carried out by applying the characteristics of submerged Paddy soil. To perform the lab-scale model test, columns were made by acrylic with the dimension of diameter=10cm, thickness=0.5cm and were filled with soils which was contaminated were mixed with stabilization agents(lime stone 5% and steel refining slag 5% respectively). To manipulate the reduction condition, soils in the columns were submerged with distilled water. And then soil water and subsurface water in each column were sampled in the regular term and analysed the various physical and chemical properties.
