The instantaneous removal of ethylene glycol is very important fur obtaining high molecular weight polymer because of the reversibility of the polycondensation reaction of poly(ethylene naphthalate)(PEN). In this study, we investigated the mass transfer phenomena in the thin film of PEN oligomer where the polycondensation reaction took place at 280$^{\circ}C$ and under 0.1mmHg. In case of less than 0.025cm film thickness the mass transfer resistance through the thin film of the polymer melt was not so high that the overall reaction rate was governed only by the polycondenstion reaction. Both the mass transfer model and the diffusion model predicted the experimenatal data well but the diffusion model showed faster reaction rate in the low molecular weight range than the mass transfer model . It was estimated from the two models that the diffusivity was 4.7${\times}$10$\^$-6/$\textrm{cm}^2$/sec and the mass transfer coefficient was 1.4 ${\times}$10$\^$-4/cm/sec both of which were smaller than In case of poly(ethylene terephthalate).

We developed a 2-channel fiber-optic temperature sensor (FOTS) using a temperature sensing probe, a fiber-optic coupler, transmitting optical fiber, and an optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR). The temperature sensing probe is divided into a sensing probe and a reference probe for accurate thermometry. A sensing probe is composed of a silicon oil, a FC terminator, a brass pipe, and a singlemode optical fiber and the structure of a reference probe is identical with that of the sensing probe excluding a silicon oil. In this study, we measured the modified optical powers of the light signals reflected from the temperature sensing probe placed inside of the water with a thermal variation from 5 to $70^{\circ}C$. Although the optical power of the reference probe was constant regardless of the temperature change, the optical power of the sensing probe decreased linearly as the temperature increased. As experimental results, the FOTS using a subtraction method showed a small difference (i.e., hysteresis) in its response due to heating and cooling. The reversibility and reproducibility of the FOTS were also evaluated.

This study was performed to evaluate extensive electrochemical characteristics of 23 commercially available mediators for laccase. Electrochemical properties, interactions with laccases, and ability to degrade lignin were compared for selected mediators. Among them, NNDS has very similar electrochemical properties in terms of reversibility and redox potential (about 470 mV vs. Ag/AgCl at pH=7) compared to ABTS which is a well-known mediator. Specific activity of purified laccase from Cerrena unicolor was determined by both 2,2'-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenz-thiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) and 1-nitroso-2-naphthol -3,6-disulfonic acid (NNDS). The specific activity of the laccase was 23.2 units/mg with ABTS and 21.2 units/mg with NNDS. The electron exchange rate for NNDS with laccase was very similar to that for ABTS, which meant that NNDS had similar mediating capability to ABTS. Determining methanol concentration after reacting with laccase compared to lignin degradation capabilities of both ARTS and NNDS. ARTS or NNDS alone cannot degrade lignin, but in the presence of laccase enhanced the rate of lignin degradation. ABTS showed better activity in the beginning, and the reaction rate of NNDS with lignin was about a half of that of ABTS at 10 minute, but the final concentration of methanol produced in 1 hour was very similar each other. The reason for similar methanol concentration for both ABTS and NNDS can be interpreted as the initial activity of ABTS was better than that of NNDS, but ABTS would be inhibited laccase activity more during the incubation.
In this paper, we applied Sfard's reification theory to analyze the secondary students' level of conceptualization with regard to the formula of quadratic equation. Through the generation and development of mathematical concepts from a historical perspective, Sfard classified the formulation process into three stages of interiorization, condensation, and reification, and proposed levels of formulation. Based on this theory, we constructed a test tool reflecting the reversibility of the nature of manipulation of Piaget's theory as a criterion of content judgement in order to grasp students' conceptualization level of the formula of quadratic equation. By applying this tool, we analyzed the conceptualization level of the formula of quadratic equation of the $9^{th}$ and $10^{th}$ graders. The main results are as follows. First, approximately 45% of $9^{th}$ graders can not memorize the formula of quadratic equation, or even if they memorize, they do not have the ability of accurate calculation to apply for it. Second, high school curriculum requires for students to use the formula of the quadratic equation, but about 60% of $10^{th}$ graders have not reached at the level of reification that they can use the formula of quadratic equation. Third, as a result of imaginarily correcting the error of the previous concept, there was a change in the levels of $9^{th}$ graders, and there was no change in $10^{th}$ graders.
The 3-isobutyl-1-methylxanthine (IBMX) is non-selective phosphodiesterase and is able to prevent resumption of meiosis by maintaining elevated cyclic AMP (cAMP) concentrations in the oocyte. The present study was conducted to analyze: (1) nuclear maturation (examined by the Hoechst staining), (2) whether cytoplasmic maturation (examined by the intracellular glutathione (GSH) concentration) of porcine oocytes is improved during meiotic arrest after prematuration (22 h) with IBMX. Before in vitro maturation (IVM), oocytes were treated with 1 mM IBMX for 22 h. After 22 h of pre-maturation, the higher rate of IBMX treated group oocytes were arrested at the germinal vesicle (GV) stage (42.3%) than control IVM oocytes (10.1%). It appears that the effect of IBMX on the resumption of meiosis has shown clearly. In the end of IVM, the reversibility of the IBMX effect on the nuclear maturation has been corroborated in this study by the high proportions of MII stage oocytes (72.5%) reached after 44 h of IVM following the 22 h of inhibition. However, intracellular GSH concentrations were lower in the oocytes treated with IBMX than the control oocytes (6.78 and 12.94 pmol/oocyte, respectively). These results demonstrate that cytoplasmic maturation in porcine oocytes pre-treated with IBMX for 22 h did not equal that of control oocytes in the current IVM system. These results indicate that pre-maturation with IBMX for 22 h may not be beneficial in porcine IVM system.
Tungsten oxide films were prepared by an electrochemical deposition method for use as the anode in rechargeable lithium batteries. Continuous potentiostatic deposition of the film led to numerous cracks of the deposits while pulsed deposition significantly suppressed crack generation and film delamination. In particular, a crack-free dense tungsten oxide film with a thickness of ca. 210 nm was successfully created by pulsed deposition. The thickness of tungsten oxide was linearly proportional to deposition time. Compositional and structural analyses revealed that the as-prepared deposit was amorphous tungsten oxide and the heat treatment transformed it into crystalline triclinic tungsten oxide. Both the as-prepared and heat-treated samples reacted reversibly with lithium as the anode for rechargeable lithium batteries. Typical peaks for the conversion processes of tungsten oxides were observed in cyclic voltammograms, and the reversibility of the heat-treated sample exceeded that of the as-prepared one. Consistently, the cycling stability of the heat-treated sample proved to be much better than that of the as-prepared one in a galvanostatic charge/discharge experiment. These results demonstrate the feasibility of using electrolytic tungsten oxide films as the anode in rechargeable lithium batteries. However, further works are still needed to make a dense film with higher thickness and improved cycling stability for its practical use.
The goal is to compare two different aeration strategies for a pilot scale operation of submerged microfiltration with respect to the minimization of membrane fouling. A constant aeration (65 L/min) was examined parallel with a step-wise increase in airflow rate (40 to 65 L/min). The airflow rate was stepped to a higher rate every 5 min and the step-aeration cycles were repeated at regular intervals of 15 min. The comparative filtration runs were conducted with synthetic water containing powdered activated carbon (~10 g/L) and/or kaolin (~20 g/L) at a constant flux of 80 LMH. The extent and mechanisms of fouling in the microfiltration were identified by determining hydraulic resistance to filtration and the fouling reversibility after cleaning. Results showed that the step-aeration effectively alleviated fouling in the microfiltration of synthetic water compared to when using constant aeration. A substantial decrease in fouling was achieved by combining with coagulation using aluminum salts regardless of the aeration strategies. The constant aeration resulted in increased pore blocking likely due to increased accumulation of particles on the surface of membrane.
We fabricated urethane material based on properties of reversible and unfading for antic-ceramics restoration. This material with low viscosity was made hardness control possible that user want. And it have very strong adhesion and shear strength properties and is shown the best properties for pigment filling, anti-contractibility, coloring as like epoxy system materials. Particularly, the yellowing and ir-reversibility problem in epoxy restoration material were finally solved. So, there is guarantee in the eternity and stabilization of restoration for antic-celamics. And in order to show the reversible state of the restoration, we successfully dissolve this urethane materials in solvent after perfect restoring subsequently.

Recognition of parallel structure at early stage of sentence parsing can reduce the complexity of parsing. In this paper, we propose an unsupervised language-independent probabilistic model for recongition of parallel noun structures. The proposed model is based on the idea of swapping constituents, which replies the properties of symmetry (two or more identical constituents are repeated) and of reversibility (the order of constituents is inter-changeable) in parallel structures. The non-symmetric patterns that cannot be captured by the general symmetry rule are resolved additionally by the modifier information. In particular this paper shows how the proposed model is applied to recognize Korean parallel noun phrases connected by "wa/kwa" particle. Our model is compared with other models including supervised models and performs better on recongition of parallel noun phrases.
