거시환경변화가 호텔매출액에 미치는 영향: 경주지역 특급호텔을 중심으로 (The Influences of Changes in Macro-Environments on Hotel Sales: Cases of Deluxe Hotels in Gyeongju City)

  • Generally, tourism environments are classified as macro or micro environments. Hotel revenues are influenced directly and indirectly by macro and micro environments. This study aims to examine the determinants of the change in macro-environments on hotel revenue. The explanatory variables in this research were wage, exchange rates (ER), consumer price index (CPI) and seasonality. The results of this study were as follows; The CPI and ER significantly affected the hotel food and beverage sales. The seasonality (summer and autumn) and wage significantly affected the hotel room sales. Wage and seasonality (summer and autumn) also significantly affected the total sale on the hotels.

대학병원의 의료외수익에 관한 연구 (A Study on Nonpatient Revenues in University Hospitals)

  • This study examined nonpatient revenues of university hospitals in korea. The data source for this study was 22 university hospitals over the period 2010-2012. In this study, patient revenues, patient expenses, operating profit, nonpatient revenues, total revenues, operating margin, normal profit to gross revenues, ratio of the nonpatient revenues in the total revenues were analysed by the annual and three-year average. The analysis of nonpatient revenue differences by hospital type, bed size, location, management performance was performed by T-test and oneway ANOVA. The results were as follows. First, nonpatient revenues of university hospitals were increased during the period 2010-2012. Second, nonpatient revenues according to hospital type, bed size, location in the university hospitals had significant difference. Third, hospital type was significantly associated with normal profit to gross revenues which was profitability index about nonpatient revenues. Based on these results, this study suggests implications to diversify for management performance in hospitals.

  • If the Seoul-Pusan high-speed rail project is able to open its revenue service in 2004, Korea will be the fifth country with an HSR system in the world. And, it will be recorded as a major milestone in the transportation history of Korea. But, Government regulated railroad fare because railroad fare increase can bring negative influences to CPI(Consumer Price Index). Consequently, Korea National Railroad cannot afford to operate railroad independently under current railroad fare system. In this paper, we studied the railroad fare system under implementation and its influences to CPI. And then we proposed that railroad fare must be decided by competition with other transportation modes and based on the demand variance by introducing YMS(Yield Management System).

Does the Variance of Customer Satisfaction Matter for Firm Performance?

  • Although much attention has been paid to customer satisfaction (CS) as a leading indicator of firm performance, few studies have investigated the role of CS distribution across individual customers. With 10 years of National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) data in Korea, we examine the relationship between the variance of CS and key corporate performance measures such as revenue, profit, Tobin's q, and stock return. There are three main findings. First, we confirm the findings of previous studies that the average CS for a firm is related to the firm's economic performance. Second, we find a moderating effect of CS variance such that the relationship between the level of CS and firm performance is attenuated by the variance of CS. Finally, the variance of CS is found to directly affect firm performance over and above the CS level effect. More specifically, the variance decreases sales and stock return.

  • ICT환경에서 통계청이 조사하여 발표한 2012년 가계금융. 복지조사에 따르면 우리나라 전체가구중 금융자산은 24.9%, 부동산은 이보다 약 3배나 많은 69.9%로 조사되었다. 문제는 정보화가 더디고, 소득분위(1~4분위)가 낮은 가구가 상대적으로 높은 비율(78.8%~69%)의 부동산자산을 보유함으로써 세계경제의 불확실성 확대와 저성장과 저소비, 정보화로 인한 재택근무 증가 등과 같은 경제구조의 변화로 부동산 가격하락 리스크에 그대로 노출되어 있어 하우스푸어와 랜트푸어와 같은 현상은 저소득층에게 더 심각한 현상이 될 수밖에 없다. 이에 상관관계가 낮은 복합자산으로 포트폴리오를 구성함으로써 개별자산 위험의 가중평균보다 전체수익은 높이면서 위험은 감소시킬 수 있다는 포트폴리오 원리에 기초하여 지역과 유형별로 상이한 ICT환경에서 부동산가격지수로 구성된 포트폴리오에 상관관계가 낮은 금융자산을 포함시킴으로써 복합자산 포트폴리오의 분산효과를 안정형과 성장형으로 나눠 실증 분석하였다.

공공의료기관의 공공성과 수익성 상호관계에 대한 연구 - 지방공사의료원의 경영평가를 중심으로- (Profitability and Publicity of the Regional Public Hospitals in Korea - With focus on administration assessment of regional public hospitals -)

  • The administration of a regional public hospitals are expending from profit preference to publicity preference. The weight rate for a profitability and publicity of performance assessment has changed from 84:16 which was resulted by the assessment executed firstly in 1989 to 39:61 as resulted in 2004, the final assessment execution in 2005. Regional public hospitals are exerting and promoting a magnification in public sector to raise up the public-score. With comparison between publicity scores and profitability scores in original scores basis excluding weight rate, the publicity scores ranked higher than profitability scores although the latter was higher by 2002. However, for the administration performance of the regional public hospitals, the deficits increased 11 times from \92.6billion deficits with \460.3billion cost increased by 457% although income as \367.7billion increased by 394% comparing the last 2004 year to the first 1989 year for profit & loss statement of a regional public hospitals. There was analysis for the relation in yearly basis partitioning publicity and profitability for the assessment scores of the to regional public hospitals confirm the accumulated deficits of the hospitals like this attribute to the extension of public sector. The result showed that there was distinct plus relationship from 1999 although a minus relationship in general until 1997 except 1992 and there is a more plus relationship as approaching 2004. That is, it is hard to tell that the accumulated deficits increase of regional government medical center attributed to extension of public sector. On the contrary, the analysis showed the extension of public sector has a mutual relationship with uplift of profitability Meanwhile, it showed that operation cost rate and labor cost are the factors which influence a revenue & expenditure rate among the profitability index according to the results of relation analysis for the representative index of profitability and that of publicity.

경기도 문화콘텐츠산업의 지역착근성 기반 산업생태계 핵심역량 분석 (Analyzing Core Competence for Culture Contents Industry Ecosystem -based on Kyunggi Region-)

  • 본 논문은 LQ(Location Quotient) 분석을 기준으로 경기도 권역 특성에 맞는 산업생태계 기반의 경쟁력 있는 문화콘텐츠 산업을 분석하였다. 매출액 기준의 경우 만화, 캐릭터, 출판, 지식정보 산업이, 사업체 수 지표의 경우 만화, 음악, 게임, 캐릭터, 지식정보 산업, 종사자수의 경우 출판, 만화, 게임, 영화, 캐릭터 산업이 LQ 1.0 이상의 경쟁력 있는 콘텐츠 산업으로 제시되었다. 또한 경기지역의 매출액, 사업체수와 종사자수의 산업생태계 기초 지표 모두에서 입지분석인 LQ 1.0 이상의 고 경쟁력을 보인 핵심역량을 가진 산업은 만화와 캐릭터산업으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 시사점은 산업 클러스터의 형성을 통한 지식과 정보, 인력의 흐름은 산업성장을 이끌 수 있으므로 경쟁력 있는 산업군의 파악은 지역 클러스터의 핵심역량강화의 가장 중요한 핵심요소라는 점이다.

게임산업의 권역별 역량 비교분석 - 입지분석과 CT R&D 역량지수 분석을 중심으로 - (The comparative analysis of game capability by region -focus on the analysis of LQ index and CT R&D competence level-)

  • 본 연구는 문화콘텐츠 산업 중 게임산업의 CT R&D 성과지표의 타당성을 도출하여 권역별 게임산업 관련 기업들의 경쟁력을 분석하고자 한다. 게임산업의 권역별 경쟁력 분석을 위해 권역별 기업체수, 종업원 수, 매출액에 기초한 LQ분석과 R&D 역량 분석을 위해 전국을 7개 권역으로 나누어 게임 CT분야의 R&D 영역 분석을 수행하였다. 권역별 평균 LQ분석 결과, 수도권이 포함된 경우 수도권만 고경쟁력 산업으로 나타났으며, 수도권을 제외한 경우는 대경권, 동남권, 충청권의 순서로 경쟁력이 나타났다. 권역별 게임산업 CT R&D 역량은 수도권이 강세에 있으며, 네트워크 역량, 성과역량을 제외한 역량구성에서 전반적으로 높은 경쟁력을 가지고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 종합적으로 권역별 게임산업의 R&D 역량은 충청권 수도권 호남권의 순서로 비교우위의 R&D 역량을 보이며, 특히 충청권은 성과역량에서 수도권에 비해 상대적으로 강세에 있는 기업군 네트워크 및 기술력과 이를 지원하는 R&D 기관의 상호호혜적인 벤처생태계에 기인하는 것으로 판단된다.

선형지출체계 수요함수 추정을 통한 수송용 유류 종량세의 물가연동제 도입효과 분석 (Effects of Inflation Indexed Excise Duties on Transportation Fuel Consumption Using Demand Analysis based on the Linear Expenditure System in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 에너지세제개편이 종료된 2007년부터 매년 유류세의 종량세액을 소비자물가지수에 연동하여 자동조정해주었다는 가상적인 상황을 전제로 수송용 연료유(휘발유, 경유)의 소비량, 세부담(세수) 및 유류세의 소득재분배 효과에 미치는 영향을 추정 분석하였다. 일반균형적 관점에서 선형지출체계 수요함수를 설정하고 휘발유와 경유의 가격탄력성을 추정하였다. 2014년 가계동향조사원시자료를 이용하여 모의실험을 통해 추정한 결과, 유류세 물가연동제가 도입되었다면 2014년 현재 일반가계의 휘발유, 경유의 소비량은 각각 8.8%와 5.4% 축소되었을 것으로 분석되었다. 일반적으로 소비세는 소득역진적이어서 부(-)의 소득재분배 효과를 나타내는 경우가 많지만 수송용 유류세는 소득분배구조를 소폭 개선시키는 것으로 분석되었다. 물가연동세제의 도입을 유류 소비량을 감소시키지만 세율인상 효과가 소비감소 효과를 압도하여 유류세 세수는 11.9% 증가하는 것으로 추정되었다. 유류세 부담의 누진도는 미약하게 약화되지만, 세수증가 효과가 이를 압도하여 소득재분배 효과는 소폭 증가($+0.12%{\rightarrow}+0.13%$)하는 것으로 분석되었다.

한국, 일본, 글로벌 택배기업의 효율성 및 생산성 비교 분석 (Comparative Analysis on Efficiency and Productivity for Korea, Japan and Global Parcel Delivery Companies)

  • Purpose - The parcel delivery service(courier) industry all over the world has been expanding its market so far, but its growth has been declining in recent years. In this situation, most parcel delivery companies are having trouble with managing themselves because of the pressure from the customer to increase service level and decrease the rate. The purpose of this study is to provide ways to improve competitive advantages of the parcel delivery service industry by evaluating the multi-period operating efficiency of Korea, Japan and global service providers. Research design, data, and methodology - The data for the period of 2011 to 2014 were collected from the annual reports published by parcel delivery companies. In this study, we analyze the marketability (revenue), profitability (operating profits), and management conditions (net profits) of parcel service companies by combining information on human resources (number of employees) and material resources (total assets and equity). Therefore, the number of employees, total assets, and equity are selected as input variables, and revenue, operating profits, and net profits as the output variables. In this study, DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) is used to measure the comparative efficiency and MPI (Malmquist Productivity Index) is used to analyze the trend of change of the efficiency for a multi-year period. Results - The operational efficiency scores of medium-sized parcel delivery companies in Korea are higher than other larger competitors such as Korean, Japan and Global larger companies. As of 2014, Logen(1.878) was found to be the most efficient parcel delivery enterprise, followed by KGB (1.224), and Kyoungdong(1.002). Otherwise, Hanjin(0.235), CJ(0.262), Hyundai Logistics(0.657), DHL(0.611), UPS(0.766), FedEx(0.498), TNT(0.350), Yamato(0.762) and Sagawa(0.520), larger sized companies, were done inefficiently. The productivity of parcel delivery companies is influenced by endogenous factors as well as exogenous ones such as changes in business environment and technological advances. Conclusions - Korean medium-sized companies have relatively high efficiency scores in operation. That is why they still survive the competitive market in Korea where market restructuring on the industry has been expected to be conducted for many years. The reason why medium-sized couriers had higher efficient scores than larger couriers is that most of couriers spend more operating expenses versus unit price of delivery which is the amount of money that is needed in order to send a package by parcel service. So the delivery unit price must be taken into account by all the expenses associated with the cost of fuel, labor and maintenance expenses for facilities, etc. therefore, the unit price must be increased to strengthen business competitive power. In order for the industry to have more competitive advantage, the companies need to make profits by increasing demand volume and raising the delivery rate to provide high-quality delivery service to customers. And both endogenous and exogenous change must take precedence in order to strengthen their competitiveness.
