The fashion industry has been rearranged by Global SPA brands (like ZARA and H&M), which are powerful retailers that integrate the value chain ranging from manufacturing to sales. SPA brands can offer good quality of clothing at a reasonable price by cutting the margin between the supply chain. They are also called fast fashions since they make expedited efforts to respond to market trends and consumers. Despite the slow growth of the fashion industry in Korea, as global SPA brands rapidly expand market share, traditional fashion companies have launched several SPA brands such as MIXXO and SPAO (E-LAND), 8SECONDS (CHEIL INDUSTRIES). The few academic studies on this subject are focused on the analysis of secondary data such as news and books. The current research is qualitative and empirical attempts to explore the success factor of SPA brands with analysis of 1:1 in-depth interviews with experts who have worked for global SPAs such as Uniqlo, H&M, and ZARA, based on the grounded theory. The main phenomenon was shown to be that global SPA brands were popular since they offer a variety of products with a large assortment at reasonable and cheap prices in a large scale and multifunctional retail store. Most of them displayed main phenomena that can be realized due to the purchasing cycle of clothing that is shorter with consumers' regarding clothing as consumables. Global SPA brands had three types of marketing strategy: sellable product, sales strategy according to consumer response, and multifunctional stores. Each global SPA brand developed marketing strategies based on core competency and national conditions. The three success factors shorten the consumer decision making process of clothing. This study concludes with implications for practitioners of SPA brands born in Korea.
In the era of COVID-19 and advanced ICT technology, retail technologies such as those that use virtual reality(VR) have been drawing significant attention in the fashion industry. This study investigated the impact of shopping motivation and telepresence on consumer attitude, trust, and behavioral intentions in VR fitting room application environments. An online survey was conducted on female consumers in their 20s and 30s after exploring a VR fitting room application. Overall, 225 responses were used for the analysis. The study demonstrated that usefulness had a significant effect on attitude toward product (ATP) and trust toward app (TTA), while enjoyment had a significant effect on ATP, but did not significantly affect TTA. Telepresence did not significantly affect TTA, but had a significant influence on ATP and behavioral intention. TTA had a significant influence on ATP, and both ATP and TTA had significant effects on behavioral intention. Moreover, the effects of usefulness, enjoyment, and telepresence on ATP, TTA, and behavioral intention were significant, as the self-congruity between consumers and avatars increased. The application of the motivation theory and technology acceptance model offers theoretical perspectives for understanding VR fitting room application users' attitudinal and behavioral responses in mobile shopping environments. In addition, this study provides practical implications to mobile retailers that utilize advanced technologies.

Sharing of product and process information with partners is a basic activity and key requirement which ensures success of distribution. ePedigree that encapsulates all of the event data from manufacturer to retail shop provides a flexible mechanism of storing and sharing traceable information to the partners of supply chain and credibility of shared information through digital signature based on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). To generate the signature that can be authenticated through PKI, the partners of supply chain should pay for PKI certificates from Certificate Authority (CA). In case of agrifood cooperatives which consist of petty merchants or farmers, it is hard to pay for the PKI certificate for all members and is a big obstacle for the ePedigree to be applied to the supply chain. This paper proposes a private certification method of ePedigree for cooperatives. Cooperatives can apply the ePedigree using the proposed method to all the members at small cost and the proposed method can assure the credibility of information at the same level of the previous ePedigree.
The aim of this study was first to expand participation types in the field of beauty design by examining activities in the field, and second, to seek practical methods for addressing the important issue of social responsibility amid the current pandemic situation. Accordingly, social responsibility in design was examined through a review of previous studies. The features of practice domains and design performance fields were examined comparatively. As a result, it was found that social practices take place in various sectors, with sensibility toward the environment being escalated to a new level in the cosmetics industry. In terms of cosmetics enterprise practices, collecting, recycling, manufacturing, and retail networking has been established to reuse up to 95% of waste resources. Furthermore, ethical responsibility and participation concerning product and service waste resources are recommended, resulting in the supply of eco-friendly products in a virtuous cycle. In terms of systematic policy, even component transformation (such as organic certification and excluding toxic substances) is being carried out. However, it was difficult to identify such responsible activities in Korea; thus, systematic practice is needed. Designers take part in talent donation activities, and it was the sector they prefer the most. However, it is necessary to conduct studies on limitations such as venues equipped with cosmetics procedure equipment and public cosmetics sanitation and make systematic improvement, such that activities can be led with initiative from passive participation.

This paper was reclassified industries related to the 4th industrial revolution into manufacturing, information and communication services, finance and insurance services, and science and technology services by comparing the industry association table with the Korean standard industry classification. And the economic ripple effect was analyzed by exogenizing the four sectors of the industry using a demand-driven model. The wholesale and retail and product brokerage services were measured to be large in the manufacturing, information communication services, and science technology service sector according as a result of analysis of the production inducement effect, added value inducement effect, and employment inducement effect. And the financial and insurance services were analyzed to be large in the financial and insurance services sector. The import inducement effect was analyzed to be the largest in all sectors of the fourth industry. As a result of the forward and backward linkage effect, it was confirmed that the manufacturing and the information communication services sector were the intermediate primary production type sensitive to economic fluctuations. Also it was confirmed that the financial and insurance services and the science technology services sector were the final primary production type.
Purpose - This study examines the status of franchises and qualifications for franchising business, examines the franchising qualifications focusing on overseas cases, and suggests policy directions for strengthening the qualifications of franchising business. In order to achieve these purposes, the study reviewed the cases of USA, China, Australia, and United Kingdom franchising business law. Literature Review - According to the Fair Trade Commission, franchise is defined as a transactional relationship in which a franchiser provides certain support and education to franchisees in order to sell their goods and services more effectively. In addition, a franchise is a legally and financially independent business of franchisers and franchisees, and according to the concept of affiliates, it is necessary to define a franchise as a product and service marketing based on close and continuous collaboration. A franchiser can be defined as a company with the ability to develop a franchise system, create sustainable value based on it, and replicate "KNOW-HOW" to sellers. Case Study - This study examined the requirements for establishing a franchiser in the United States, China, Australia, and United Kingdom. In most countries, the requirements of franchisers must be operated for at least one year, which means that education, manual production, and continuity of stores should be checked. Suggestion - Based on Korea's population density and consumption sales index, we propose a screening system that registers through 2 + 1 systems, which require two stores to be operated for more than a year, by dividing Korea's commercial rights into two and a screening system instead of simple registration. In the case of a small franchisors, at least one franchsing retail store must be operated for at least one year, which should be applied to only one brand.
The number of domestic e-commerce transactions has been breaking its own record by an annual average growth rate of over 20% based on volume for the past 5 years. Due to the rapid increase in e-commerce market, retail companies that have difficulty meeting consumers in person are in fierce competition to take the lead in the last mile service, which is the only point of contact with customers. Especially in the delivery area, where competition is most intense, the role of the fulfillment center is very important for service differentiation. It must be capable of fast product preparation ordered by consumers in accordance with the delivery service level. This study focuses on the order picking system for rapid order processing in the fulfillment center as an alternative for companies to gain competitive advantage in the e-commerce market. A mixed integer programming model was developed and implemented to optimize the stock replenishment in order picking facilities. The effectiveness was scientifically and objectively verified by simulation using the actual operation process and data.

Artificial intelligent chatbot services have recently become common in fashion e-retailing and are expected to improve online shopping by making it easy to recommend products. This study examines whether the perceived quality of a fashion chatbot affects consumers' trust and perception of usefulness, which in turn influences satisfaction and intention to use, in accordance with the information system success model. The study also investigates differences in perceived quality and consumer response variables between high and low groups of self-efficacy. A total of 341 consumers participated in an online survey. The results revealed that information quality and system quality had a significant impact on perceived usefulness and trust, and that service quality significantly impacted trust. Perceived usefulness and trust had a positive effect on consumer satisfaction, which in turn had a positive effect on intention to use. In addition, the findings revealed that people who had higher self-efficacy showed higher scores on perceived usefulness, trust, satisfaction, and intention to use chatbots as compared to people who had lower self-efficacy. This study suggested theoretical implications by applying the information system success model theory to fashion chatbot studies. It also suggested practical implications for e-commerce marketers developing retail strategies.
As global online business expands, direct overseas sales, where company directly sells products to foreign consumers, has become a new trend. The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of B2C Korean online exporters. This study analyzes export companies, 45,267 doing offline business and 205 online, and the two findings drawn from the study are as follows: First, B2C online exporters shipped 4-5 times more products to 10-13 times more countries than offline exporters. It also showed higher rate of export persistency. Second, from using gravity model analysis, it was found that export through online sales removes distance barrier by 60% more than offline. In addition, Free Trade Agreement appears to help boost online overseas sales. This study has significance in that it is the first analysis on B2C online export using actual proof, and it can be differentiated by other researches in terms of identifying the traits of Korean online export.

Objective: This research was conducted to evaluate the effects of citrus fiber (CF) as a natural alternative to sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) in marinated broiler boneless chicken breast and inside beef skirt on overall retention rate, shear force, and consumer sensory attributes. Methods: Five different marinade formulations were targeted to include 0.9% salt, either 0.25% or 0.50% STPP or CF and water on a finished product basis. Water and salt only were considered the negative control (CON). Chicken breasts (n = 14) and inside beef skirt (n = 14) were randomly assigned to a treatment, raw weights recorded and then placed in a vacuum tumbler. Marinated weights were recorded, individually packed, and randomly assigned to either retail display for 10-day retention rate, shear force analysis, cook loss, or consumer sensory panel. Results: Pickup percentage, and overall retention was similar among treatments for chicken breast and inside beef skirt. Citrus fiber treatments resulted in higher cooking loss compared to the CON in chicken breast; though, CF050 resulted in similar cooking loss compared to STPP025 in inside beef skirt. No differences were found in sensory attributes for chicken breast, however, WBSF data showed CF025 was tougher than CF050, STPP050, and CON. Inside beef skirt with CF050 were least liked overall by the consumer panel. Conclusion: Citrus fiber included in marinades at a lower percentage rate can produce similar texture characteristics, and sensory properties compared with those marinated with STPP.
