슬랜트방식을 이용한 스크류/볼트 선별검사시스템 개발 (Development of the Sorting Inspection System for Screw/Bolt Using a Slant Method)

  • The machine vision system has been widely applied at automatic inspection field of the industries. Especially, the machine vision system shows good performance at difficult inspection field by contact method. In this paper, the automatic system of a slant method to inspect screw/bolt shape using machine vision is developed. The inspection system uses pattern matching method that search similar degree of the lucidity, the average lucidity, length and angle of inspection set up area using a circular scan and a line scan method. Also the feeding method for inspection product is the slant method, and feed rate is controlled by the ramp angle adjustment. This inspection system is composed of a feeding device, a transfer device, vision systems, a lighting device and computer, and is composed the sorting discharge system of the inferior product. The performance test carried out the feeding speed, the shape correct degree and the sorting discharge speed according to the type of screw/bolt. This sorting inspection system showed a satisfied test results in whole inspection items. Presently, this sorting inspection system is being used in the manufacturing process of screw/bolt usefully.

Review of the regulatory periodic inspection system from the viewpoint of defense-in-depth in nuclear safety

  • The regulatory periodic safety inspection system is one of the most important methods for confirming the safety of nuclear power plants and the defense in depth in nuclear safety is the most important basic means for accident prevention and mitigation. Recently, a new regulatory technology based on risk-informed and safety performance has been developed and used in advanced countries. However, since the domestic periodic inspection system is being used in the same way over 30 years, it is necessary to know how the inspection contributes to the safety confirmation of the nuclear power plants. In this study, the domestic periodic inspection system currently in use was analyzed from the perspective of defense in depth in nuclear safety. In addition, the analysis results were compared to the U.S. NRC's safety inspection system to obtain consistency and lessons in this study. As a result of analysis, the NRC's safety inspections were distributed almost evenly at the all levels of defense in depth, while in the case of domestic inspection, they were heavily focused on the level 1 of defense in depth. Therefore, it appeared urgent to improve the inspection system to strengthen the other levels of defense in depth in nuclear safety.

  • It is important to guarantee the safety of vehicle to minimize the damage to the driver in case of the accidents. In order to inspect and later enhance the safety of vehicle, the owner of the vehicle usually have a vehicle safety inspection. The Korea Transportation Safety Authority (KOTSA) issues the Comprehensive Performance Inspection Certificate after vehicle inspection. The certificate only specify the legal inspection criteria for safety and measured values of the safety parameters, however, as ordinary driver in lack of expert knowledge about the vehicle is difficult to understand the contents of the Certificate. Thus, in this paper, the authors try to give the information about the inspection results in easier way to understand. This information not only guarantees the owner of the vehicle to better understand the inspection results, but it also gives the opportunity to the driver to deal with the specific problem listed in the results. The methods in this paper are to transform the vehicle inspection data into the non parametric distribution to easily represent the values to the index later on. Also, example indexes are presented to the actually inspected vehicle based on the reference distribution to show the better assessment of the developed method.

산업용Wire Harness Vision 검사 장비 개발 (Development of Vision Inspection System for Defects of Industrial Wire Harness)

  • This paper presents vision based inspection system for defects of industrial wire harness. Five type of nonconformities facter such as barrel deform, projected wire, overcoating, rack of wire length, over-strip is considered. Developed inspectio algorithmn has been tested on real specimens from a wire harness factory. Experimental results show that the inspection algorithm an has a good performance.

  • This study is concerned with the development of the economic sampling inspection plan when it is possible to carry out a nondestructive screening inspection for the rejected lots by substitutive characteristics closely related to the original quality characteristic. It is assumed that the probabilities of those errors depend linearly on the fraction defective of the process sampling inspection policy for isolated lot is studied where the probability of accepting the lot with bad quality from the results of sampling inspection is restricted to be small.

  • Steam turbine blades and discs of nuclear power plants are one of the most highly stressed areas of turbine rotor, and periodic inspection of the blade roots is essential for monitoring integrity and preventing turbine failure. Ultrasonic technique is applied for volumetric inspection of blade root. However, the complexity of blade root geometry imposes challenges to inspection of blades and discs. Recently, phased array ultrasonic inspection technology is being applied to numerous power generation inspection applications including turbine rotor. The phased array ultrasonic technique requires customized inspection wedges which are generally necessary to generate effectively higher incident angle. But the usage of this wedge can cause access limitation for the lower stage blades of turbine because of the wedge front length. Therefore, the shear wave phased array probe which can generate high inspection angle without wedge is essentially necessary. In this study, feasibility study is conducted for the shear wave phased array ultrasonic probe application to blade and disc inspection. As results, the experimental results show that the shear wave phased array probe can detect the flaw and measure its size with reliable accuracy. Therefore if this shear wave phased array probe is applied to field inspection of blade and disc, more reliable inspection is expected for turbine having access limitation.

  • General Administrative Procedures of the Preshipment Inspection 1. Initial notification Preshipment Inspection is initiated by Agency when it receives notice either from the importing country, or the seller, that an export needs to be imspected 1.1 Notice from the importing country 1.2 Notice from the seller 2. Preliminary price verification After receipt of initial notification, Agency undertakes, Where possible, a preliminary price verification, based upon the Inspection Order and other contractual documents received. 3. Customs classification When required by the Government of the importing country. Agency forms an opinion of the Customs Classification Code based upon the Customs Tariff Book and Rules of Classification of the country of importation. The Customs Classification Code determines the tariff rate on the basis of which the importer will be required to pay import duties. 4. Import eligibility 5. Arrangements for physical inspection 5.1 Inspection request from seller 5.2 Place of inspection 5.3 Date of inspection 5.4 Physical inspection procedures 6. Physical inspection results When the physical inspection is completed, the inspector submits his report to the Agency office and the result of inspection will be communicated to the seller and, where applicable, the place of inspection.   • This paper addresses the effects of an imperfect production process on the optimal production quantity and quality inspection policies. The system is assumed to deteriorate during the production process. The results are either defective products or machine breakdown whether multiple quality inspection is worth or not. Furthermore, when multiple inspection policy is adopted, the optimal inspection schedule is shown to be equally spaced throughout the production cycle. Exact solution and approximation of the optimal production quantity and approximation of the optimal number of inspection are provided. Finally, to better understand the model of this paper, comparisons between this model and classical EMQ model are provided.

  • The investigation of concrete structure typically relies on visual inspection which is one of the basic inspection techniques. Image processing techniques play a crucial role in the growing field of automatic surface inspection technique. However, kinds of inspection equipment, environmental condition and detection algorithm have much influence on the reliability of inspection result. This paper proposes a verification method and testing procedure for the reliability of inspection results and surveys characteristics of image acquisition systems and crack inspection algorithms.

유도초음파를 이용한 장거리 배관 탐상기법 (Long Range Ultrasonic Guided Wave Techniques for Inspection of Pipes)

  • Conventional non-destructive techniques for inspection of the weld in pipelines require significant test time and high cost. Ultrasonic guided waves have been widely studied and successfully applied to various non-destructive tests with advantage of the long-range inspection. In this paper, a study on the application of ultrasonic guided waves to the long-range inspection of the pipeline is presented using a long-range guided wave inspection system, Wavemaker SE16, GUL. The characteristics and setup of the long-range guided wave inspection system and experimental results in pipes of with various diameter are introduced. The experimental results in mock-up pipes with cluster type detects show that the minimum detectable wall thickness reduction with this guided wave system is $2\~3\%$ in the pipe cross section area. And the wall thickness reduction of $5\%$ in cross section area can be detected when actual detection level is used. Therefore, the applicability of the guided wave systeme to long-range inspection of wall thickness reduction in pipes is verified.
