Decarburized zone of metal tongue which is used in seat belt for automobiles was carbon-restoration quenched and tempered using nitrogen-methanol gaseous atmosphere. The effects of microstructure and mechanical properties of metal tongue on the effectiveness of carbon-restoration during tempering was studied. Metal tongue showed $20{\sim}30{\mu}m$ decarburized zone. However, after carbon-restoration, it has uniform microstructure and thus hardness without decarburized zone. Carbon-restoration quenching and tempering process resulted in better wear and corrosion resistances than quenching and tempering process.

This study was carried out to create a master plan for an urban eco-forest, including concepts of forest restoration, forest management, and nature education. The concept of an urban eco-forest is different from the original eco-forest, which pursues the conservation of native species in their habitats, using the resources of special plants, etc. The study site was a hill (128m) managed as an urban natural park. Citizens have usually used the park for fitness purposes, as a place for outdoor exercise early mornings on weekdays and holidays. The result of a questionnaire survey showed that the users knew about the eco-forest, and they wanted to participate in the nature education programs. The flora and actual vegetation were weak about conservation of native species on the site. The framework of the plan consisted of development of the ecological forest and forest restoration, and allowed for recreation and the experience of nature, according to the concepts of the urban eco-forest. The landscape was divided into the experience zone of biodiversity, the experience zone of a valley ecosystem, the forest restoration zone, and the recreation and experience zone in nature. Based on this framework, detailed programs and theme areas were planned, as were forest restoration models and planting plans.

The ecohydrologic characteristics according to planting in riparian zone for the riparian restoration are analyzed in this research. The ecohydrologic components due to land use change in riparian zone from existing land cover to planted area such as pasture and wildrye are simulated in the test basin with the integrated SWAT-MODFLOW model. After analysis of change of the hydrologic properties such as surface flow, lateral flow, transpiration and soil water in riparian zone, it is revealed that soil water is one of the key factors and planting of wildrye can increase soil water in riparian zone. The simulation performance of the SWAT-MODFLOW model is validated in this study and it is expected that this model can be used to evaluate various riparian restoration scenarios.

This paper proposes an autonomous fault determination, fault zone isolation and fault restoration strategy based on the ethernet communication as a new attempt to solve the problem the of the existing central control method. In proposed method, The FRTU(Feeder Remote Terminal Unit)s on the feeder determines autonomously where the faulted zone is by exchanging the voltage and current information with neighbor FRTUs based on the network communication, and then separates the faulted zone in an nil-voltage status to make the protective device to reclose successively. In particular, the minimization of outage time and relational load balancing is archived by each interconnection switch which determines autonomously the load zone to be allocated among those zones after the sound outage zones was separated individually. Finally, to show effectiveness of the proposed fault restoration strategy, the several fault cases are simulated for the test distribution system, and the load balancing index of the proposed solution is compared with all of feasible solutions.

In this study, in order to find out relationship of green space distribution and lower air temperature effect, observed air temperature distribution in and out green space in the cloudy. On basis of the result, we are analyzed relationship of air temperature distribution in and out green space, of green space distribution and air temperature of, lower air temperature effect and the urban in between the green space by using regression analysis. According to the result, the higher temperature zone formed around urban, and the lower temperature zone was similar to shape of green space. In case of the green space, higher temperature zone is formed around paved surface and barren ground, lower temperature zone is done forest and water area. To compare air temperature of windward and leeward around green space, the windward formed the lower temperature zone and although the wind direction is not the leeward to the green space, air temperature formed lower temperature zone to the urban in between the green space.

This study attempts to facilitate climate change adaptation in conservation area by spatial planning of climate adaptation zone for endangered species. Spatial area is South Korea and select leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis) as a target species of this study. In order to specify the climate adaptation zone, firstly, Maximum entropy method (Maxent) was used to identify suitable habitat, and then core habitat was selected for leopard cat. Secondly, land use resistance index was evaluated and least cost distance was analyzed for target species. In this step we choose dispersal capacity of leopard cat to reflect species ecological characteristic. Finally, climate adaptation zone is described and adaptation measures are suggested. The presented approach could be generalized for application into conservation planning and restoration process. Furthermore, spatial planning of climate adaptation zone could increase heterogeneity of habitat and improve adaptive capacity of species and habitat itself.

This paper identifies the issues of contingency analysis for restoration in distribution systems. Contingency analysis has been applied to transmission systems but not to distribution systems. The distribution system is different from transmission system. So it is hard to apply for existing contingency analysis to distribution system. In this paper, a new contingency analysis method for distribution systems is proposed. The proposed method is based on service restoration capability. It aims to minimize outage left after service restoration in case of a fault in advance. The method estimates the vulnerability which is represented by zone restoration index proposed in [1]. Applying the proposed method, operators could change the system so that it does not leave any outage left after restoration. Case study has been carried out on a five feeder system and its results show effectiveness of the method.

In this study, the bird fauna of Sihwa Lake in Gyeonggi Province were investigated from 2009 to 2014 to identify the effect of the restored intertidal zone on bird community. Based upon the analysis of the habitat status and distribution change of water birds in the intertidal zone, the following conclusions were obtained. The number of water bird individuals increased by approx. 40 thousand after the restoration. Most of water bird species increased, but diving ducks decreased. Analysis of the number of individuals of water birds before and after the intertidal zone restoration showed that there was a significant increase in the number of shorebird individuals. There is a habitat use pattern change in the southern tideland intertidal zone that includes the largest area of widened intertidal zone and the inland waters of the intertidal zone. This is related to the change of benthic ecosystem which is the food source of birds. The benthic ecosystem in restoring Sihwa Lake has been stabilized with a decrease in opportunistic species and consistent increase in equilibrium species that are sensitive to pollution. As a result, the environmental conditions for shorebirds have been improved. The restoration of intertidal zone affected the habitat use and distribution patterns of water birds in a short period of time. Compared to before restoration, all the water birds now use the wide area of the intertidal zone with no partiality and it is confirmed that the restoration greatly affected the distribution of shorebirds and swan & geese. This study was conduced to identify the effects of an artificial restoration of intertidal zone due to tidal power generation of bird species. In terms of maintaining and improving biodiversity, the intertidal zone restoration was recognized to be important and still shows positive results. This study is expected to provide a direction when an alternative is required to maintain and improve biodiversity in a similar situation in the future.

This study was conducted to propose the plan of creating a brooklet reflecting an water-friendly space as well as its function as the habitats of wildbird in Cheongdam Neighborhood Park in Seoul. Major fields of this study include a survey of the staus, a basic plan, a master plan, a execution; a survey of this site was focused on topography, water system, trail, existing vegetation, wildbird; a detailed plan was focused on flow plan, planting plan, facility plan. Existing vegetation was classified into 5 types; Quercus mongolica-Q. acutissima forest, Robinia pseudoacacia forest, Populus${\times}$albaglandulosa forest, artificial green space, urban area. 11 species and 49 individuals of wildbirds appeared in 2004(3~4month). The plan of creating a brooklet were divided passive-zone, eco-zone, and dynamic-zone. Environment elements of each space including a mountain stream, ecological pond, marshland, ecological landscape forest, wildbird observation trail, waterway etc. The brooklet of Cheongdam Neighborhood Park is rated high as an important space for wildbird biodiversity. Accordingly, continuous monitoring of this biotope as a urban habitat is required as the environment changes.

The ecological environmental zones in coastal area, like tidal flat and salt marsh, were gradually decreased due to large scale of coastal development projects, reclamation and so on. Therefore, the development of artificial tidal flat and salt marsh has been emphasized in coastal area as mitigation concept and studies on related this background has performed. But studies on the quantitative evaluation for degree of restoration were insufficient. In this paper, as a fundamental study for evaluation of restoration on the creation of ecological environmental zones in coastal area, it was conducted that the monitoring and experiment for bio-chemical factors (bio-diversity, population and biomass of macro-benthos, survival ratio of reed, the number of heterotrophic bacteria and physico-chemical characteristics such as COD, IL, TN, TP and pH) using a in-situ pilot plant of tidal flat (Zone. P1) and salt marsh (Zone. P2), which was distinguished by content of dredged soil, in Jinudo, Nakdong estuary. From results of this study, the restoration index (RI), for evaluation concerning degree of restoration on the creation of ecological environmental zones in coastal area, was suggested and quantitative evaluation was performed using a restoration index (RI).
