  • The changes in the 4th industrial revolution era are not limited to specific sectors, but affect all sectors of industry. Thus all companies are required to respond effectively to changes. Some companies response by adopting cutting-edge ICT and some companies improve the organizational structure, or enhance the competence of individual employees. This study is based on the assumption that the responses to the change in the 4th industrial revolution era should not be uniform, and that the response strategies and priorities should vary according to the characteristics of the companies. The purpose of this study is to suggest both different response strategies and the priority of the responding factors(areas) to small and medium-sized enterprises. Data were collected through the semi-Delphi method. As a result of data analysis, the priorities of the medium-sized enterprises were as follows: introduction of IT-strengthening the competence of the individuals - establishing technology infrastructure-improving organizational structure - efficiency of work - improving organizational culture. While the priorities of the response factors(area) of the small-sized companies were as follows: strengthening the competence of the individuals - efficiency of work - introduction of IT - establishing technology infrastructure - improving organizational structure - improving organizational culture.

  • To prevent the incidence of type food allergies, removal of food allergens by excluding all foodstuffs containing the allergen(s) or disruption of allergen(s) using proteases has been employed. Though allergen- specific digestion with a protease worked well in the preparation of low allergenic goods, it is often difficult to destroy allergenicity without adversely affecting the nutritive value, taste and rheological properties of foods. In the present study, we represented that herbs component contained both allergy- enhancing and inhibiting factors, in addition to llergens. We also reported that herbal component such as epigallocatechingallate (EGCG) and epicatechingallate (ECG) is possible to be allergy- inhibiting factors, but the exact mechanism by which they alleviate allergic response is left to be clarifying. Document of allergy enhancing factors and enrichment of allergy inhibiting factors may provide a new approach to diminish allergenicity of various foodstufffs. Clarification of the allergic reaction modifying mechanism of food components and optimization of the intake of allergy modifying factor are necessary for decrement of allergenicity of conventional food and prevention of incidents of allergic response

  • Built-up edge affects the surface integrity of the machined surface and tool wear. Tool geometry and cutting conditions are very important factors to remove BUE. In this paper, we optimized the geometry of the metal slitting saw .1nd cutting conditions to remove BUE by the experiment. In general, the metal slitting saw is plain milling cutter with thickness less of a 3/16 inch. This is used for cutting workpiece where high dimensional accuracy and surface finish are necessary. The experiment was planned with Taguchi method that is based on the orthogonal array of design factors(coating, rake angle, number of tooth, cutting speed, feed rate). Response table was made by the value of the surface roughness, the optimized tool geometry and cutting conditions through response table could be determined. In addition. the relative effect of factors were identified by the variance analysis. filially. coating and cutting speed turned out important factors.

  • Until now, passenger airbag design is based on the referred car design and many repetitive crash tests have been done to meet the crash performance. In this paper, it was suggested a new design process of passenger airbag. First, key performance factors were determined by analyzing the injury risk effectiveness of each performance factor. And it was made a relationship between injury risk and performance factor by using the response surface model. By using this one, it can be predicted the injury risk of head and neck. Predicted injury risk of optimal design was obtained through this injury risk prediction model and it was verified by FE analysis result within 18% error of head and 9% error of neck. It was shown that a target crash performance can be met by controlling the key performance factors only.

  • This study lotuses on the seismic behavior of 3-, 9-, and 20-story steel moment resisting frame (MRF) structures designed in accordance with the 2000 International Building Code using different Response Modification factors (R factors) 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. For a detailed case study, 30 different structures were evaluated for twenty ground motions representing the hazard level which is equal to a 2% probability exceeding in 50 years (2% in 50 years). The results showed that the current R factors provide conservative designs for the 3- and 9-story buildings for the Collapse Prevention performance objective. However, the 20-story buildings designed without using the minimum requirement of spectral acceleration CS prescribed in the IBC 2000 did not satisfy the seismic performance for Collapse Prevention performance.

Necessity and adequacy of near-source factors for seismically isolated buildings

  • Superstructures and isolation systems of seismically isolated buildings located close to active faults may observe increased seismic demands resulting from long-period and high-amplitude velocity and displacement pulses existent in near-fault ground motions as their fundamental periods may be close to or coincident with these near-fault pulse periods. In order to take these effects into account, the 1997 Uniform Building Code (UBC97) has specified near-source factors that scale up the design spectrum depending on the closest distance to the fault, the soil type at the site, and the properties of the seismic source. Although UBC97 has been superseded by the 2015 International Building Code in the U.S.A., UBC97 near-source factors are still frequently referred in the design of seismically isolated buildings around the world. Therefore it is deemed necessary and thus set as the aim of this study to assess the necessity and the adequacy of near-source factors for seismically isolated buildings. Benchmark buildings of different heights with isolation systems of different properties are used in comparing seismic responses obtained via time history analyses using a large number of historical earthquakes with those obtained from spectral analyses using the amplified spectrums established through UBC97 near-source factors. Results show that near-source factors are necessary but inadequate for superstructure responses and somewhat unconservative for base displacement response.

  • In the inner turn key constructions the problems of uniform types are repeatedly occurred, and, especially, many problems happen up to the stage of pre-construction(from a bid to a contract) owing to the specialties of the turn key constructions. So the claim factors of the Korean turn key constructions were abstracted through the literature searches, the site document examinations, the case studies and the interviews with the experts. When the technicians meeting the interior turn key constructions for the first time and working here now are well acquainted with only these factors, many claims will be prevented. By analysing the degree of claims by claims factors through the questionnaires to the experts about the abstracted factors and surveying the amount of the claims through the case studies, what factors exerted how much of influence on the claims was tested and analyzed. Proposing the response devices to the factors affecting the claims much led the technicians in charge of internal turn key constructions to the prevention and the proper solution of the site claims.

Objectives This study aims to know the coefficient of five Sasang constitution diagnosis factors' concordance in and among Oriental Medical Clinics, which are important to diagnose Sasang constitution, 2. Methods We collected 701 subjects in Oriental Medical Clinics, who were diagnosed by experts, and they marked the priority order of Sasang constitutional factors in paper. 3. Results 1) The concordance of priority order about Sasang constitutional factors was significantly associated within Oriental Medical Clinics. 2) The concordance of priority order of Sasang constitutional factors was not significantly associated among 12 Oriental Medical Clinics, so we find out that each medical clinics has a different point of view of deciding the rank of diagnosis factors. 3) We show that the factor of Sasang constitutional drug response was the most important one to confirm Sasang constitution and factors have a different order according to clinic type and qualification of experts 4. Conclusions Sasang constitution expect has their own view in diagnosis priority order and that was different among them.

  • This Paper presents the response force distribution factor(RDF) and its application to recalculation of member forces in case of partial changes of structures. Using RDF, the mutuality of response forces between members can be estimated. The reanalysis technique recalculates directly any displacement or member force under consideration in real time without a full reanalysis in spite of local changes in member stiffness or connectivity using RDF. It is expected that RDF and the reanalysis technique can be used to develop efficient analysis techniques for tall buildings.
