  • The plants medicinal resources of southern area(Soraksan, Bughansan, Odesan, Gwanagsan, Sollaegsan, Gyeryongsan, Sogrisan, Deogyusan, Chinsan, Jogyesan, Mudeungsan, Hallasan) ofkorea were investigated 10 times from May 1,1992 to November 30,1992In order to analyze the vegetation of southem area, medical wild plants structure and distr:~bution.Medical wild plants of southern area consisted of 94 familis,284 specis in all. The resources of impor-tant herb drugs were Polypodiaceae, Graminea, Liliaceae, polygonaceae, Ranunculaceae,Brassicaceae, Rosaceae, Favaceae, Apiaceae, Ldbiatae, Solanaceae, Companulaceae, Compositae.The herb drygs were comparatively more thanin other mounteins in our country.

경남 합천군의 관속식물 분포와 자원특성에 관한 연구 - 오도산, 황매산, 대암산, 무월봉을 중심으로 - (Distribution of Vascular Plants and Plant Resources Characteristics in Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnamdo Province - Mt. Odo, Mt. Hwangmae, Mt. Daeam, and Muweol Peak -)

  • 2009년 3월부터 10월까지 경상남도 합천군일대의 자원식물분포조사를 수행하였다. 본 조사를 통해 확인된 조사지역내의 소산 관속식물은 82과 292속 427종 4아종 49변종 9품종으로 총 489분류군으로 확인되었다. 조사 지역에서 분포하고 있는 식물의 자원 유용도를 분석한 결과, 식용자원식물이 187분류군, 섬유용 자원식물이 9분류군, 약용 자원식물이 137분류군, 관상용 자원식물이 52분류군, 초지 자원식물이 126분류군, 공업원료자원이 2분류군, 염료용 자원식물이 112분류군, 목재용 자원식물이 16분류군, 용도가 밝혀지지 않은 식물이 134분류군로 구분되었다 특기할만한 식물로는 한국 특산 관속식물이 총 18분류군, 환경부지정 특정식물종이 33분류군, 희귀식물은 2분류군으로 각각 조사되었고, 귀화식물은 44분류군으로서 전체분류군의 약 8.9%를 차지하였다. 한편 조사지역의 식생은 비교적 양호한 편이었으나, 레저시설이 형성되거나, 중계소, 사찰 등으로 인한 임도와, 저지대의 많은 농경지로 인해, 귀화식물의 분포가 빠르게 확산될 우려가 크므로 이에 따른 적절한 조치가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

청량산(봉화군, 안동시)의 관속식물상 (A Flora of Vascular Plants in Mt. Cheongnyangsan (Bonghwa-gun, Andong-si))

  • 연구는 경북 봉화군 명호면과 재산면, 안동시 도산면과 예안면에 걸쳐 위치하는 청량산(870 m)에 자생하는 관속식물을 밝히고 주요 자원식물들의 분포를 파악하였다. 2006년 3월부터 2014년 10월까지 총 16회에 걸쳐 조사된 식물은 총 97과 330속 541종 3아종 61변종 9품종 614분류군으로 확인되었다. 이 중 한국특산식물은 21분류군, 산림청 지정 희귀식물 중 취약종은 8분류군, 약관심종은 5분류군, 환경부 지정 식물구계학적 특정식물 중 V등급이 2분류군, IV등급이 10분류군, III등급이 18분류군으로 확인되었다. 또한 청량산에 분포하는 분포특이종으로 세뿔투구꽃, 산토끼꽃 등 4종이 조사되었다. 이들은 유용성에 따라 구분하면 식용 234종류, 사료용 213종류, 약용 174종류, 관상용 62종류, 목재용 16종류, 염료용 12종류, 섬유용 11종류의 순으로 나타났고, 이 외에 용도를 알 수 없는 식물이 167종(27.2%)로 확인되었다. 귀화식물은 32분류군으로 귀화율은 5.3%, 도시화지수는 10.0%로 나타났다.

Correction of the holotype citations of three vascular plants at the herbarium of the National Institute of Biological Resources, Korea

  • A holotype is an element to which the name of a taxon is permanently attached and is key material that facilitates taxonomic research. However, type citation or designation errors due to typographical errors or inadvertent mistakes often exist. When reviewing recently published literature for the type specimens of vascular plants in the herbarium of the National Institute of Biological Resources, we observed that three species, Isoetes laosiensis, Isoetes coreana, and Huperzia jejuensis, had errors, and the actual holotype information and the type descriptions of the protologues did not match. The name Isoetes laosiensis had a collecting number error, while Isoetes coreana and Huperzia jejuensis had collector errors. According to Article 9.2 of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (Shenzhen code), if a holotype designation in the protologue of the name of a taxon is found to contain errors such as collector, collecting number, and illustration errors, the errors are to be corrected. We, therefore, corrected the errors in holotypes of three species, with no alterations made to the intents of the original authors.

김해시 국립용지봉자연휴양림 조성예정지의 관속식물상 (Vascular Plants in Sites Reserved for Construction of National Yongjibong Recreational Forest in Gimhae-city)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the plants in Yongjibong Natural Recreation Forest before construction, to provide basic data that can be used for various purposes. The survey was conducted on the planned recreational forest sites from June to September 2020. The numbers of flora are summarized as follows: 348 taxa, 95 families, 234 genera, 308 species, three subspecies, 30 varieties, and seven forma. The Korean endemic plants were of nine taxa, including Fagus engleriana, Celtis choseniana, and Broussonetia x kazinoki. The rare plants were of six taxa, including Juniperus chinensis var. sargentii, Hylotelephium ussuriense, Thuja orientalis, and F. engleriana; however, Juniperus chinensis var. sargentii, H. ussuriense, T. orientalis, and Iris ensata var. spontanea were planted species. The floristic regional indicator plants (unique plants) found in this survey area were of 33 taxa, comprising three taxa of grade V, four taxa of grade IV, nine taxa of grade III, four taxa of grade II, and 13 taxa of grade I. The naturalized plants were of 26 taxa, including Rumex crispus, Phytolacca americana, and P. esculenta. Among the naturalized plants, it is necessary to prevent the spread of Ambrosia trifida, Bidens frondosa, and Tagetes minuta through continuous monitoring.

여서도의 관속식물상 (Floristic Study of Yeoseo-do (Isl.) in Korea)

  • 대한민국 전라남도 완도군에 속하는 여서도(N $33^{\circ}58^{\prime}$, E $126^{\circ}55^{\prime}$)의 관속식물상을 조사하고 분포가 확인된 주요 식물들에 대하여 논의하였다. 총 4회에 걸친 현지조사는 2013년 4월부터 10월까지 수행되었다. 그 결과 관속식물은 총 112과 306속 409종 6아종 42변종 5품종 1교잡종으로 총 463분류군으로 정리되었다. 한반도 고유종은 6분류군, 멸종위기 야생식물 적색자료에 따른 관속식물은 12분류군이 조사되었다. 본 조사지역의 식물구계학적 특정식물은 98분류군이며, 멸종위기야생식물 I 급종으로 풍란이 관찰되었다. 한반도 남부에 분포하는 남방계식물 33분류군과 염생식물 10분류군의 생육도 확인되었다. 귀화식물은 27분류군으로 조사되었다.

우리나라 동위도지역(동해안, 서해안) 해안림의 식물상 (Flora of the Coastal Forests on the Same Latitude of East and West Coast in Korea)

  • Investigation of flora was performed from March to October of 2008 as Eastern and Western coastal districts located in the same latitude ($36^{\circ}47^{\prime}-37^{\circ}48^{\prime}$), in order to apply this to basic data for effective protection and management of coastal forests also for insurance of biodiversity in coastal forests. As a result of the investigation of floras, both coastal forests recorded product-plants as follows: 98 families, 262 genera, 370 species, 46 varieties, 4 forms, 1 hybrid, 421 taxa in total. The Eastern coastal forests had 85 families, 188 genus, 248 species, 32 varieties, 3 forms, 1 hybrid, 285 taxa in total, whereas Western coastal forest had 96 families, 227 genus, 306 species, 39 varieties, 2 forms, 1 hybrid, 348 taxa in total. Among them, seashore plants accounted for 10.2% of total plants appeared in both coastal, and they are 26 families, 38 genus, 40 species, 3 hybrids and 43 taxa in total. There are special Korea plants in both coastal; 9 families, 9 genus, 8 species, 1 varieties, 1 hybrid, 10 taxa in total. There are rare plants in both coastal; 8 families, 8 genus, 7 species, 1 varieties, 8 taxa in total. Naturalized plants are also existed; 11 families, 24 species, 1 variety, 30 taxa in total.

Vascular plant diversity of the Gogunsan Archipelago in the Korean Peninsula

  • This study was carried out to investigate the flora of six islands belonging to the Gogunsan Archipelago (i.e., Sinsi-do, Seonyu-do, Munyeo-do, Yami-do, Bian-do, and Duri-do) in the Korean Peninsula. As results of five field surveys from March to October of 2016, we have identified 575 total taxa, representing 527 species, five subspecies, 42 varieties, and one hybrid, placed in 358 genera and 118 families. Of these 575 taxa, four are endemic to Korea, six taxa are listed on the Korean Red List of threatened species, 67 are floristic regional indicator plants, and 74 are invasive alien species. In this study, we compared species richness among the islands, and find that the larger the islands, the higher the species richness. In the case of habitat affinity types, forest species were most common, followed by farmland, seacoast, bare ground and wetland species. From similarity analyses based on the composition of vascular plants, each island did not exhibit either local specificity or unique diversity. On the contrary, the proportion of invasive alien and ruderal species may increase by human activities. Investigations and analyses of island flora such as this are important to assess the current status of the flora, predict future vegetation patterns and the spread of the alien species, and establish managment plans of plant diversity.

조봉(강원, 양양) 식물자원의 분포와 특성 (Distribution and Characteristics of Plants Resources in Mt. Jo-bong (Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do))

  • 강원도 양양군 조봉지역에 대한 식물자원을 2011년 4월부터 2012년 10월까지 총 11회에 걸쳐 조사하였다. 그 결과 관속식물은 총 92과 296속 434종 6아종 49변종 11품종으로 총 500분류군이었다. 조사된 식물 중 한국특산식물은 13분류군, 희귀식물은 14분류군, 그리고 멸종위기야생식물은 II급의 한계령풀이 확인되었다. 식물구계학적 특정식물종은 V등급 1분류군, IV등급 11분류군, III등급 21분류군, II등급 12분류군, 그리고 I등급 30분류군으로 총 75분류군이 조사되었다. 귀화식물은 32분류군으로 나타났으며, 귀화율은 6.4%, 도시화지수는 10%로 산출되었다. 식물의 용도는 식용이 193분류군으로 가장 많았고, 다음으로 약용, 목초용, 관상용의 순이었으며, 용도를 알지 못하는 종류도 148분류군이 확인되었다.

Effect of Treatment with Selected Plant Extracts on the Physiological and Biochemical Parameters of Rice Plants under Salt Stress

  • High soil salinity is the most severe threat to global rice production as it causes a significant decline in rice yield. Here, we investigated the effects of various plant extracts on rice plant stress associated with high salinity. Additionally, we examined various physiological and biochemical parameters such as growth, photosynthetic activity, chlorophyll content, and lipid peroxidation - in rice plants after treatment with selected plant extracts under salt stress conditions. Of the 11 extracts tested, four - soybean leaf, soybean stem, moringa (Moringa oleifera), and Undaria pinnatifida extracts - were found to effectively reduce salt stress. A reduction of only 3-23% in shoot fresh weight was observed in rice plants under salt stress that were treated with these extracts, compared to the 43% reduction observed in plants that were exposed to stress but not given plant extract treatments (control plants). The effectiveness varied with the concentration of the plant extracts. Water content was higher in rice plants treated with the extracts than in the control plants after 6 d of salt stress, but not after 4 d of salt stress. Although photosynthetic efficiency (Fv/Fm), electron transport rate (ETR), and the content of pigments (chlorophyll and carotenoid) varied based on the types and levels of stress and the extracts that the rice plants were treated with, generally, photosynthetic efficiency and pigment content were higher in the treated rice compared to control plants. Reactive oxygen species (ROS), such as superoxide radicals, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), and malondialdehyde (MDA), increased as the duration of stress increased. ROS and MDA levels were lower in the treated rice than in the control plants. Proline and soluble sugar accumulation also increased with the duration of the stress period. However, proline and soluble sugar accumulation were lower in the treated rice than in the control plants. Generally, the values of all the parameters investigated in this study were similar, regardless of the plant extract used to treat the rice plants. Thus, the extracts found to be effective can be used to alleviate the adverse effects of stress on rice crops associated with high-salinity soils.
