구형 용기 내 자성유체의 슬로싱 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Sloshing Characteristics of a Ferrofluid in the Spherical Container)

  • 본 연구에서는 구형(sphere) 용기 내 작동유체로 물과 자성유체(ferrofluid)를 사용하였을 경우의 구형 용기의 병진 운동에 따른 슬로싱(sloshing) 현상에 대하여 실험적으로 고찰하였고 두 가지 작동유체에서 나타나는 특성을 비교하였다. 구형 용기의 병진운동에 따른 슬로싱 현상을 고찰하기 위하여, 자기장(magnetic field)을 0 mT에서 50 mT로 변화시키고, 가진 진폭을 5 mm에서 15 mm로 변화시켜가면서 실험을 수행하였다. 결과적으로, 구형 용기내의 자성유체는 자기장를 인가하지 않았을 때 물과 유사한 액면거동 현상을 나타내었고, 자성유체에 인가되는 자기장 세기가 증가할수록 공진점(resonance point) 발생이 이론공진주파수(theoretical resonance frequency)보다 높은 영역에서 발생함을 확인하였다. 즉 용기 내 슬로싱은 자성유체를 사용할 경우 인가 자기장의 크기에 따라 공진점이 발생하는 공진주파수를 제어할 수 있으며 액면 변위의 크기를 제어할 수 있었다.

생체 기에 대한 피동공명적인 연구 (Study on the wave resonance-stimultion and receptionfor the BIO-KI)

  • The present condition of study on the wave-resonance for the bio-KI is observed. And the probroms of reception attendent on the stimulation of wave is observed centering around the sensory organ. The results is as follows: In the wave-resonant stand point, the tendency of studying on KI is showed in the several field all over the world. Because it is originated radionics, the wave-resonant tools of MRA insistenting minute-magnetism-resonance-apparatus need the more severe data in the side of electric circuit. The wave resonance apparatus according to the frequency occurance transmits low-frequency's vibration ratio to the electric stimulating aspect. The wave-water is considered on the application of wave-resonance transcription on the water, and needs the comprehension of torsion-field level. The wave-stimulation of the bio-KI and the reception of the sensory-organ is observed the connection of the sensory-organ and it's corresponding wave. The informations recorded in the wave are distinguished patternly. And the several shaping waves transmit the informations each other through the resonnance. The wave theory is explained the LEE(理) as the wave-pattern and the KI(氣) as the revelation of the patterned-wave in the LEE-KI theory(理氣論), moreover the SHIN(神) as the information of the wave-pattern and the KI as the energy of the wave and the JEUNG(精) as the material of the wave in the JEUNG-KI-SHIN theory(精氣神論). In this point, the study on the wave-resonance of bio-KI is thought that it is significantly in the study method for oriental medicine. The sum of the wave makes the moving body and forms the universe. It means that the several wave patterns gather and form new field. The pattern is a kind of the information and the information is not materially. The information of wave-pattern is the arrangement and the combination of the material source.

  • 외부 자기장이 spin-flip field보다 작은 조건 하에서 마이크로 사이즈로 패턴된 synthetic antiferromanet의 ferromagnetic resonance frequency를 표현할 수 있는 이론식을 유도했다. 또한 유도된 이론식을 통해 synthetic antiferromagnet의 기하학적, 자기적 성질이 ferromagnetic resonance frequency가 미치는 영향에 대해 연구했다.

$^{11}B$ Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Study of Calcium-hexaborides

  • We have performed $^{11}$ B nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements to microscopically investigate an electronic structure of the ferromagnetic state in three different compositions of calcium-hexaboride single crystals. Although the crystal structure of Ca $B_{6}$ is cubic and three NMR lines may be expected for the nuclear spin 3/2 of $_{11}$ B, a larger number of NMR resonance peaks have been observed. The frequency and intensity of those peaks distinctively changes depending on the angle between crystalline axis and magnetic field. Analyzing this behavior, we find that the electric field gradient(EFG) tensor at the boron has its principal axis perpendicular to the six cubic faces with a quadrupole resonance frequency $v_{Q}$ 600 kHz. Even though the magnetization data highlight the ferromagnetic hysteresis, $^{11}$ B NMR linewidth data show no clear microscopic evidence of the ferromagnetic state in three different compositions of Ca $B_{6}$ single crystals.s.

원통형 유전체에 대한 전자기파의 새로운 공진산란 이론 (New Resonance Scattering Theory of Electromagnetic Waves for a Homogeneous Dielectric Cylinder)

  • 기존의 공진산란이론에서는 하나의 모드에 대한 부분파 산란장이 주파수에 대하여 급격히 변하는 공진성분과 서서히 변하는 배경성분의 합으로 이루어졌다고 가정하고 적당한 배경성분을 제거하여 공진성분을 추출했다. 최근에 음향학 분야에서 산란 5-함수의 곱셈전개에 근거를 둔 새로운 공진 산란이론이 개발되어 왔다. 산란장이 공진성분과 배경성분 이외에 이들의 상호간섭성분으로 구성되어 있다고 제안한 이 이론은 공진성분의 크기뿐만 아니라 위상스펙트럼을 정확하게 얻게 해 주었다. 전자기파 분야에서는 유전체로 코팅된 도체 구 혹은 원통의 산란문제에 이 이론이 성공적으로 적용되었다. 본 논문에서는 유전체 실린더의 전자기파의 산란문제로 이 이론을 확장하고 수치계산으로 그 유효성을 검증했다.

Three-fold Symmetry Effect on Mn2+ Centers in a LiNbO3 Crystal

  • Spin Hamiltonian for the paramagnetic center with a three-fold symmetry and high spin ($S{\geq}2$) multiplicity should contain the fourth order zero-field splitting (ZFS) terms. Electron magnetic resonance transition lines of the center with S = 5/2 are expected to split in a pair when the magnetic field is applied off the principal axes of ZFS, while they are superimposed when the magnetic field is applied parallel to the principal axes of ZFS. In this study we report that the transition lines of $Mn^{2+}$ centers at the three-fold symmetric sites in $LiNbO_3$, chemically equivalent but physically different, split in two due to the nonzero fourth order ZFS term.

Minireview on Nuclear Spin Polarization in Optically-Pumped Diamond Nitrogen Vacancy Centers

  • Nitrogen vacancy-centered diamond has recently emerged as a promising material for various applications due to its special optical and magnetic properties. In particular, its applications as a fluorescent biomarker with small toxicity, magnetic field and electric field sensors have been a topic of great interest. Recent review (R. Schirhagl et al 2014) introduced those applications using single NV-center in nanodiamond. In this minireview, I introduce the rapidly emerging DNP (Dynamic Nuclear Polarization) field using optically-pumped NV center in diamonds. Additionally, the possibility of exploiting the optically-pumped NV center for polarization transfer source, which will produce a profound impact on room temperature DNP, will be discussed.

FeCoB Films with Large Saturation Magnetization and High Magnetic Anisotropy Field to Attain High Ferromagnetic Resonance Frequency

  • FeCoB films were being prepared on a Ru underlayer by using the oblique incidence of sputtered and back-scattered particles which have a high in-plane magnetic anisotropy field $H_k$ above 400 Oe. It is suitable to attain such deposition condition when facing targets sputtering system. The in-plane X-ray diffraction analysis clarified that there is anisotropic residual stress which is the origin of the high in-plane magnetic anisotropy. The directional crystalline alignment and inclination of crystallite growth were also observed. Such anisotropic crystalline structures may affect the anisotropic residual stress in the films. The B content of 5.6 at.% was appropriate to induce such anisotropic residual stress and $H_k$ of 410 Oe in this experiment. The film with B content of 6 at.% possessed large saturation magnetization of 22 kG and high $H_k$ of 500 Oe. The film exhibited high ferromagnetic resonance frequency of 9.2 GHz.

  • 콘크리트 구조물의 건전성은 공공의 안전에 미치는 영향이 크기 때문에, 이들의 진단은 매우 중요하다. 충격공진 시험은 콘크리트 구조물의 비파괴검사에 널리 사용되어왔다. 이 글에서는 충격-공진 시험의 배경과 기본원리에 대하여 기술하였으며, 실험실의 연구사례는 물론이고 대형 구조물의 기초콘크리트와 대형 슬러리 월에 대한 현장 적용사례도 기술하였다.

Solid State Dynamic Nuclear Polarization of 1H Nuclear Spins at 0.3 T and 4.2 K

  • Here, I report solid state Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) of $^1H$ nuclear spins at 0.3 T and 4.2 K. The DNP polarizer was developed based on a commercial X-band Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) modified for DNP, in combination with a NMR console and a liquid-Helium cryostat. By detuning magnetic field, DNP spectrum was measured to find the optimal condition. At +3 mT detuned from on-resonance field, $^1H$ NMR signal of 60:40 glycerol/water frozen solution doped with 20 mM perdeuterated-Tempone was amplified 43 times. The $^1H$ spin polarization obtained at 4.2 K is over 3100 times higher than that at 300 K. The width of the DNP spectrum, which is five times broader than ESR spectrum, is inconsistent with solid effect or thermal mixing, and presumably suggests a different DNP mechanism.
