  • Aerodynamic characteristics depending on the shape of an internal motor in a small-size sirocco fan for residential ventilation have been investigated For the aerodynamic analyses of the sirocco fan, three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations are solved with the shear stress transport model for turbulence closure. The flaw analyses are performed on hexahedral grids using a finite-volume solver. The validation of the numerical results at steady-state is performed by comparing with experimental data for the pressure and efficiency. In order to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics depending on shape of an internal motor in a sirocco fan, the reference shape is analyzed compared to the case without internal motor. Additionally, two shape parameters, height and width of the internal motor in a sirocco fan, are tested to investigate their effects on the aerodynamic characteristics. The results show that the shape of the internal motor in a sirocco fan is an important factor to improve the aerodynamic performances.

  • Generally, rural housing in Korea have had target of people who are in good physical health rather than the disabled. Therefore, it is difficult to offer high quality residential environment for the elderly and the disabled. The purpose of this study is to present the remodeling of rural house for the disabled. this study divides the a rural house into 7 sectors : a passage to entrance, an entrance hall, a livingroom, a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen, and etc. this study propose the following renovation plan that rural housing to be barrier free space. First, in passage to entrance of the house, people with disabilities should not experience difficulties in walking, so installing ramps to remove the stepped slope grade without slip so that the floor finish should be. Second, install grab handle on the wall inside the housing so that the disabled can lean on the handle. Third, placing the furniture in the bedroom that wheelchair can be rotated, and make to lower the height of the switchs. Forth, install a non-slip floor tile to prevent accidents in the bathroom.

수치해석을 이용한 초고층 주거건물에서 외풍영향에 의한 외벽 압력 분포 분석 (A Numerical Analysis on the Outside Pressure Distribution by Outdoor Wind Effect in a High-rise Residential Building)

  • The object of this study is to analyze and evaluate outdoor wind pressure effect in a high-rise residential building when seasonal wind blow on coast area. The target building consists of 3 tower buildings over 250m in height. For the evaluation of the outdoor wind effect, CFD simulation was performed. The results of the simulations are as follows : 1) In that case of high-rise building, horizontal stream is more affected than vertical stream. 2) In case of summer season northeasterly wind, building pressure distributions are unstable and surface pressures of outside are effected respectively. 3) In case of winter season westerly wind, building preassure differentiations are not so much because of screening effects of the B, and the C buildings. 4) In case of winter season northwesterly wind, front wind affects on the A building directly because of no obstacles.

  • This paper presents a structural design of the "(Tentative Name) Toranomon Hills Residential Tower" which is currently under construction in Tokyo. The building is a reinforced concrete high-rise residential complex building with 54 stories above ground, 4 basement levels, and a building height of about 220 m. It is a requirement to provide the highest grade of residence in Japan, and in terms of the structural design, it is required to provide wide and comfortable spaces with high seismic performance. These requirements are satisfied by providing a total of 774 vibration control walls of two types. Also, to further improve the structural performance, steel fibers at the rate of 1.0vol% are provided in the ultra-high strength concrete used in the column members.

Multi-objective Optimization of Pedestrian Wind Comfort and Natural Ventilation in a Residential Area

  • With the rapid development of urbanization the problems of pedestrian-level wind comfort and natural ventilation of tall buildings are becoming increasingly prominent. The velocity at the pedestrian level ($\overline{MVR}$) and variation of wind pressure coefficients $\overline{{\Delta}C_p}$ between windward and leeward surfaces of tall buildings were investigated systematically through numerical simulations. The examined parameters included building density ρ, height ratio of building αH, width ratio of building αB, and wind direction θ. The linear and quadratic regression analyses of $\overline{MVR}$ and $\overline{{\Delta}C_p}$ were conducted. The quadratic regression had better performance in predicting $\overline{MVR}$ and $\overline{{\Delta}C_p}$ than the linear regression. $\overline{MVR}$ and $\overline{{\Delta}C_p}$ were optimized by the NSGA-II algorithm. The LINMAP and TOPSIS decision-making methods demonstrated better capability than the Shannon's entropy approach. The final optimal design parameters of buildings were ρ = 20%, αH = 4.5, and αB = 1, and the wind direction was θ = 10°. The proposed method could be used for the optimization of pedestrian-level wind comfort and natural ventilation in a residential area.

주거시설의 유니버설 디자인을 위한 활동실태조사 및 불편 설계요소 개선 절차 제안 (Investigation of Perceived Discomforts and Suggestion of a Procedure for the Universal Design of Housing)

  • This study examined perceived discomforts encountered in residential facilities such as individual houses and apartments, and suggested a procedure for improving the problems in the living residence. The participants consisted of two groups of people: normal and underprivileged people; the underprivileged group was classified into 3 sub-groups: elderly people (over 65 years old), handicapped people and pregnant women. To identify inconvenient places and design factors in the residential housing, a total of 200 subjects (50 for each group) participated in the survey using the 7-point Likert scale. As a result, all the user groups mainly answered a high degree of discomfort due to narrow parking places, doorsills, and height differences between floors. The elderly, the handicapped, and the pregnant women replied that it is uncomfortable to use ramps and utility rooms. In a follow-up study, one-to-one in-depth interviews were conducted with some of the participants to analyze the detailed causes of inconvenient places and design factors. This study also suggested the procedure for solving the problems in various design factors from perspective of universal design, by considering prior studies which focused on a certain user group like the elderly. This procedure was suggested to consider as many user groups as possible at the same time. The results can be used to understand the discomforts of various user groups on residential housing. The procedure can also be used to develop universal design guidelines for the living residence.

고령자가 거주하는 독립주택의 주거환경 실측 (A Survey of the Residential Environment of Detached House of Elderly People)

  • With 106 detached houses where the elderly people lives, this study was conducted to perform a survey of their residential environment. The results of this study were summarized as follows: While the surveyed houses' safety, sanitation and convenience appeared to be positive, with respect to the conditions of location, 73.6% of the surveyed houses did not meet the requirements for comfort. The average area of each space indicated that the bed room was $12.09m^2$, the living room $14.38m^2$, the kitchen $8.96m^2$, the bath room $3.93m^2$, and the rest room $259m^2$. Then, 93.3% of the bed room had the doorsill. Also, 97.2% of the surveyed houses had retrievable space. The forms of the living room door were a hinged door(55.7%) and a sliding door(44.3%). The 43.4% of the finished material of the living room was wood which was highest. The cooking table forms of kitchen were mainly "ㄱ"-shaped(50.0%) and "ㅡ"-shaped(48.0%), and their average height was 815mm. The fuel used for kitchen was mainly the gas which accounted for 93.4%, but 95.3% of houses had no gas-warning devices. Most houses(77.4%) had an integrated type of bathroom and toilet. In addition, 63.2% houses had the stepped difference between the bathroom and other spaces. But they had no a sliding-prevention devices(not for 92.5%) or heating systems(not for 93.4%) in the bathroom.

바람환경을 고려한 공동주택의 배치유형에 관한 연구 - 대구광역시 신천지역을 대상으로 - (A Study on the Layout Type of an Apartment Complex Considering Wind Environment - Focused on the Sinchun Area of Daegu Metropolitan City -)

  • One of the most important elements in creating the pleasant residential environment is the wind. For the pleasant residential environment, it is important that the air pollutants are not stagnant but appropriately and swiftly diffused and removed by winds. Especially, the river becomes a main route of wind in the urban core. So, it is necessary to secure the space to circulate the sufficient cool air to this area. But, recently many high-rise apartment complexes have been built along the rivers that have the fine view and pleasant environment. As a result, the cool and fresh air coming from mountains hardly diffuses into the urban core but just flows along the river. Considering the facts above, this study selected types of building layout and kind of land cover as complex or architectural design factors that have an influence on wind environment. Based on the factors, it analyzed change in wind environment according to apartment complex development aiming at the Sinchun area which is Daegu Metropolitan City's main wind corridor. Therefore, when apartment complex development is planned in the future, it can offer basic data for establishing plans for more pleasant complexes. As a result of the analysis, it was shown that the layout type of housing and the building height plan in consideration of wind corridor around the river were pretty effective in increasing the wind speed and circulating the air in the apartment complex. Therefore, if wind corridor is considered when apartment complex development is planed in the future, this study can offer useful information contributing to improve comfort in residential environment in the level of complex building as well as city planning.

한옥의 공간구성과 주거공간 및 주택의장요소를 담은 아파트 단위세대 계획안 (The Plan for Apartment Unit containing the Space Organization, Residential Space and Housing Design Elements of Han-Ok)

  • This study focuses on the fact that the Korean traditional design application appears as one of the trends for a planning technique to express an apartment as a healthy, clean and environment-friendly dwelling recently. Focusing on this, this study tries to apply the characteristic of Han-Ok to an apartment unit plan more compositively beyond the fragmentary design application of existing preceding researches. To do this, the space organization, residential space and housing design elements of Han-Ok are deducted through preceding researches and case studies and proposes a plan by applying this to the apartment plan with a floor plan of about $132m^2$(40 pyeong). The apartment unit plan containing the characteristic of Han-Ok proposed in this study is planned based on the floor plan of about $132m^2$(40 pyeong) which is distributed the most in the city of Seoul. It has an advantage in terms that it can be individually applied not only when a construction firm progresses business anew carrying the banner for a Korean-style apartment but also an existing residents can apply through remodelling. Meanwhile, it has a limit that the diversified space sense and the advantage of an airy Han-Ok cannot be applied to many parts of the design due to the characteristic of an apartment of diverse height change. If a measure to secure constructability and economic feasibility while reflecting diverse differences of floor-level of an apartment can be prepared in follow-up researches, much more various advantages of Han-Ok can be put into the apartment design.

서울시 오피스텔의 임대료 결정요인에 관한 연구 (Officetel Rent Determinants in Seoul)

  • 1980년대 중반 오피스텔이 처음 공급된 이래로 오피스텔 건축기준이 변화함에 따라 오피스텔의 기능은 사무용에서 주거용으로 변화되어 왔다. 서울시의 오피스텔 공급추이를 살펴보면, 1991년에 상대적으로 많은 공급이 이루어졌고, 1990년대 중반에는 공급이 감소되었다가, 1596년 이후 다시 증가 추세를 보이고 있다. 서울시 오피스텔의 임대료 결정 요인에 관한 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 강남 여부, 전용률, 주거용 여부 등의 설명변수들이 서울시 오피스텔의 주요 임대료 결정요인으로 나타났다. 따라서 서울시 오피스텔의 평당 임대료는 강남에 소재하고 전용률이 높으며 주거용인 오피스텔이 그렇지 않은 것에 비해 높다는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 사무용 오피스텔의 경우에는 층수가, 주거용 오피스텔의 경우에는 전용률이 유의한 결정요인으로 나타났다.
