연구방법론 과목의 교육내용 및 현황분석 (Research Methods and Library & Information Spence Education)

  • 한 학문분야의 연구의 질을 향상시키고, 연구를 수행하거나 비판할 수 있는 연구의 저변을 확대하기 위해서는 연구방법론의 견실한 교육이 매우 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 국내 문헌정보학 석사 과정에서의 연구방법론 교육의 현황과 특성을 분석하고, 연구방법론 교육의 질적 향상을 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 문헌정보학 석사과정이 개선된 국내 22개 문헌정보학과 및 도서관학과를 대상으로 연구방법론 교육의 개선현황, 특성과 동향을 분석하고, 미국 문헌정보학 석사과정 교육과정과 비교하여 향후 연구방법론 교육에 대한 방안을 제시하고자 하였다.

한국문헌정보학 연구와 문화기술적 방법 (The library & information science research in Korea and ethnographic method)

  • This study aims at introducing 'ethnography' which is one of the most representative qualitative research methods into Library and Information Science research in Korea.. Ethnography, derived from anthropology, helps researchers to understand the whole and deep aspect of the research object. That is because the researcher puts himself into the life-world of the research object and observes it for a long time. Ethnography can be used as an alternative method to quantitative research methods. Until now, Library and Information Science research in Korea has used quantitative research methods in almost every case. From the 1980s so-called 'scientific methods' using hypotheses testing, have provided the major premise for research methodology in Library and Information Science of Korea. And the researchers have seen their research object(Korean Libraries) not in the native perspective but largely in the western(especially American) perspective. There is a need in Korea for more culturally relative research. So the desirability of introducing ethnography and other qualitative research methods into Library and Information Science research in Korea can be summarized as follows : I. Ethnography and other qualitative methods are needed for the researchers to overcome the limitation of quantitative methods which have formed the main methodological paradigm in Library and Information Science research in Korea. While those quantitative scientific methods can be a n.0, pplied to the social sciences, they are not adequate for the social sciences. It is because the research objects of the social sciences are human and social phenomena. II. It is needed that Library and Information Science research in Korea pay more attention to the speciality of Korean libraries. To do researches based on the viewpoint of cultural-relativism, researchers should consider the cultural context of Korean libraries. During the past years researchers in other social science fields in Korea, especially sociology and pedagogy, have gradually a n.0, pplied the methods of ethnography to their fields. These social scientists have attempted to escape from ethnocentrism, a problem which has greatly influenced past and present research methods. To get a holistic and in-depth understanding of Korean libraries on the present stage, and to solve their problems radically, it seems imperative that Library and Information Science research in Korea pay more attention to qualitative research methods such as ethnography.

국내 물류연구 방법론에 관한 연구

  • The purpose of this research is to provide the logistics research with a focus on the methods and theory of the research. This paper finds to explain the patterns of logistics research in domestic through the investigation of different theories and research methods employed. A analysis of methods in selected topics allows published research of the logistics to be categorized. Research classified into integrated table by each theory, research topic, methodology and triangulation. Study presented a variety of research paradigms in logistics and contributed to the current literature by providing an outlook of the logistics research.

초등수학교육에 적용된 혼합연구법의 특성 및 시사점에 대한 연구 (Analysis on Mixed Methods Research in Mathematics Education: A Qualitative Approach)

  • 본 연구는 수학교육연구에서 적용되고 있는 혼합연구법이 질적연구와 양적연구를 어떻게 결합하여 활용하고 있는가를 탐색해 보고자 한다. 구체적으로 수학교육분야에서 질적연구와 양적연구의 혼합이 방법론적으로 어떠한 시사점과 과제를 줄 수 있는가를 탐구하고자 한다. 이와 같은 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 본 연구에서는 한국초등수학교육학회에서 발간하는 '초등수학교육학회지'에 2015년 게재된 전체 32편의 논문 중, 혼합연구법을 적용한 4편의 논문을 분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 기존의 선행연구들에서는 혼합연구에 대한 분석 결과를, 일반적인 양적연구의 결과와 유사하게 비교 항목별로 수치화시키며 양적인 정보를 중심으로 간략하게 설명하는 경향이 있어 왔다. 이와는 대조적으로, 본 연구에서는 질적 연구자의 관점에서 질적연구와 양적연구의 장점을 최적화할 수 있는 방안을 상세하게 논의하는 형식으로 분석 결과와 시사점을 제시하고 있다.

  • 본 연구는 한국 사회복지학 연구방법론에 대한 분석과 고찰을 통하여 질적 연구방법의 사회복지학에 대한 유용성을 논의하고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 사회복지학의 가장 대표적인 학술지인 "한국사회복지학"에 실린 학술논문 538편을 연구 방법론에 초점을 두고 분석한다. 분석 결과, 우리나라 사회복지학은 양적 연구방법에의 과도한 편향이 매우 극심한 상황인 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 1990년대 중반이 되면서 이러한 한계가 지적되어 질적 연구방법을 활용한 논문들이 등장하기 시작하는데, 엄밀성 측면에서 볼 때 방법의 적절성과 수준은 매우 제한적인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 한국 사회복지학 연구방법론의 동향 분석과 함께 본 연구는 질적 연구방법의 특성과 유형을 정리하면서 한국 사회복지학과 질적 연구방법의 적합성(fitness) 즉 '질적 연구방법이 왜 필요한가' 그리고 '그 유용성은 무엇인가'를 중심으로 논의를 전개한다. 이러한 논의를 통하여 본 연구는 한국 사회복지학의 양적 연구방법에 편향된 상황에 대한 문제를 제기하며, 사회현상의 본질과 실재를 이해하기 위해서는 하나의 방법론이나 패러다임에 얽매이지 않고 사회과학의 많은 연구방법을 적절하게 활용하는 것이 매우 중요함을 제시한다.

마케팅 리서치에서 다중측정방법에 관한 실증적 연구 (A Case Study of Fashion Marketing Research using Multiple Methods)

  • Qualitative research is a method widely used in marketing research. However, the method has seldom been used in fashion marketing research in Korea. The purpose of this study was to prove that using both qualitative and quantitative research methods in main stage is much useful than using qualitative research method only in exploratory stage. Qualitative data were gathered by conducting Focus Group Interview(FGI) with 48 college students. Quantitative data were gathered by surveying college students, and 487 questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. The data were analyzed using content analysis, mean, standard deviation, and t-test. As a result, FGI, one of the tools used in qualitative research methods, was proved to be useful in revealing consumers´deep emotional needs as well as purchase motives. FGI also revealed information which quantitative research method tools such as survey could have missed. Therefore, it is best to use multiple methods-simultaneous use of quantitative and qualitative methods-to understand fast changing consumers´needs and purchase motives.

가족치료 분야에서의 질적 연구방법의 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of Qualitative Research Methods in the Field of Family Therapy)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 질적 연구방법 패러다임의 중요한 특성들을 살펴보고 이러한 연구방법을 어떻게 우리 나라 가족치료 분야에 적용할 수 있을 것인가를 분석하는 것이다. 먼저 질적 연구방법의 일반적 특성과 연구설계의 전형적인 특징들이 기술된다. 둘째, 가족치료 분야에서의 질적 연구방법의 의미와 적절성 그리고 이의 구체적 적용방법과 관련된 내용들이 논의된다. 셋째, 가족치료 분야에서 질적 연구방법을 수행할 때 고려되어야 할 핵심적 이슈들이 검토된다. 질적 연구방법은 가족치료를 총체적으로 볼 수 있게 하는 체계적이고 과학적인 방법을 제공한다. 이러한 연구방법은 가족치료 분야에 새로운 조사연구 패러다임을 추가하고 이를 통해 가족치료의 다양성을 증가시킬 수 있다. 또한 가족구조와 현실의 총체적 표현이 가능한 다양한 질적 연구방법들은 가족형태와 경험의 복잡성과 다양성을 검토하는데 도움을 준다. 따라서 질적 연구방법은 가족치료의 과학 및 실천을 향상시킬 잠재성을 지니고 있고 가족치료 연구자는 질적 연구방법을 향상시킬 잠재성을 지니고 있다. 결론적으로 우리 나라 가족치료 분야에서의 질적 연구방법의 발전을 위한 합의를 제시한다.

학문 목적 한국어교육의 연구 유형 분류와 연구 방법의 동향 분석 (A Classification of Research Types and Trend Analysis of Research Methods in Korean for Academic Purposes)

  • This study is a trend analysis study that discusses the current status and directions of research methods of KAP research. The existing trend ana lysis studies dealing with research methods have problems in that the classification criteria of the studies used are rough and different from each other, rendering comparison between studies being difficult, and do not comprehensively cover research methods of diversified KAP research. Therefore, this study examined the research methods of KAP research from a critical point of view and suggested a set of classification criteria and an analysis framework that can be used consistently in classification and analysis of future KAP research methods. Based on the theoretical background of second language studies and applied linguistics, this study revised and supplemented Brown (2015)'s research method types and selected 289 journals and theses/dissertations from 2012 to 2016 and classified them into a new analysis framework. The primary and secondary studies, which are the major categories, were 219 and 70, respectively, so it was confirmed that there were much more primary studies. The primary studies then were subdivided into 128 qualitative research studies, 142 survey research studies, and 23 quantitative research studies, pointing to the trend that survey and qualitative research methods were preferred. In the qualitative research approaches, there were 21 action research studies, which were used the most. In addition, such qualitative research approaches as case studies and narrative inquiries which were difficult to find in the past, have gradually increased, confirming that the diversification of research methods is becoming common. However, there were still many studies that did not explicitly put forward research questions and there were many studies that did not report reliability and effect sizes in quantitative research. Of the 23 quantitative studies, only 50% reported reliability, and only three reported effect sizes. In order to enable systematic reviews (meta-analysis) of quantitative research and expect quality improvement of research in future KAP research, reporting of quantitative research should be done more systematically. This study is meaningful in that a systematic and detailed analysis framework was proposed to classify various research methods in the future and that the problems and directions for improvement of the KAP research methods were discussed through the analysis of the research trend of the KAP studies for the last 5 years.

한국어교육 연구방법론에 대한 동향분석 -양적연구를 중심으로- (An Analysis on Research Trends in Korean Language Education: Focusing on Quantitative Research Methods)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify research methods used in Korean language education studies with a focus on identifying how and what quantitative research methods are utilized in these studies. Analyzing articles published in the Journal of Korean Language Education from 2005 to 2016, we found a trend that as a replacement for secondary research, primary research played a more prominent role after 2010, as the number of quantitative studies and studies using mixed methods increased. We also found that within quantitative studies of Korean language education, research themes and statistical analyses became diversified after 2010. In order for quantitative research to contribute continuously to Korean language education, the quality of research has to improve. In particular, quantitative researchers in this area should: (a) increase their general understanding of statistical methods, (b) conduct "power analysis" to determine the appropriate sample size for hypothesis testing, and (c) be aware of measurement issues such as measurement equivalence and DIF when measuring latent psychological constructs. It is also important to notice that these points above should be considered carefully in the planning and designing stage for researchers.

간호행정학회지 게재논문의 통계학적 방법 사용과 오류 (Use and Misuse of Statistical Methods in the Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration)

  • Purpose: To do nursing research effectively requires an understanding of fundamental principles of statistical methods. In this article, some key statistical methods which are commonly used in nursing research are identified and summarized. Methods: Ninety-two original articles from the Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration were reviewed. Statistical methods were classified and summarized for usage in research and occurrence of common errors. Results: Among the original articles reviewed, 58 statistical usages contained errors. Most errors were found in linear regression analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and chi-square test. From the detection of statistical errors in usage, suggestions for appropriate statistical methods were made. Conclusion: In order to improve validity of original articles in the Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration, clearly stated statistical usage and close editorial attention to statistical methods are needed. Understanding statistical methods is part of the process that researchers must use to determine both quality and usefulness of the research. Research findings will be used to guide nursing practice and reduce uncertainty in decision making. However, to understand how to interpret research results, it is important to be able to understand basic statistical concepts. Researchers should also choose statistical methods that match their purposes.
