Statistics was not recognized until the early 20th century as an independent science, and statistical education research came to an international milestone in the late 1940s. The purpose of this study is to investigate the historical development of statistics education research, focusing on the activities of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and the International Association for Statistical Education (IASE). Statistics education in Korea is considered with regard to the history of international research on statistics education in this study. It implies for the direction of statistical education research to domestic mathematics education researchers and statistical researchers related to statistical education research.

이 연구는 20세기, 즉 1901년부터 2000년까지 100년 동안 한일 양국이 상대국의 역사에 대해 발행한 단행본을 대상으로 발행연도 시대 ·연구자를 분석함으로써 지식정보의 생산현황과 규모, 역사, 격차 등을 밝히고 있다. 한일 양국이 상대국의 역사에 대해 생산한 단행본이 한국에서는 1945년까지 1종도 없는데 비해 일본에서는 1875년에 단행본이 발행되어서 1900년대에 이미 연구가 일정 수준에 도달했다. 1946년 이후에는 21세기에 가까울수록 상대국에 대한 지식정보의 생산규모가 한일 양국 모두 커지고 있다. 하지만 70년이라는 연구 출발의 시차에 따른 격차는 20세기 말에도 극복되지 못하고, 지식정보의 생산량이나, 연구주제의 다양성, 연구자의 규모에서도 거의 비슷하게 나타났다. 전체적으로 볼 때 한국에서의 일본역사 연구는 일본에서의 한국역사 연구의 1/3 수준이라고 할 수 있다.

We investigate the history of the research of the existence of periodic solutions of a nonlinear wave equation with jumping nonlinearity, suggested by Mckenna and Lazer (cf. [15]). We also investigate the recent research of it; a relation between multiplicity of solutions and source terms of the equation when the nonlinearity -($bu^+$-$au^-$) crosses eigenvalues and the source term f is generated by eigenfuntions.

본 논문은 먼저 수학사 연구의 필요성을 살펴본다. 저자들을 포함한 수학사 연구를 새로이 시작하는 사람들에게 필요한 종자지식의 확보를 위하여 홍성사 교수님과 홍영희 교수님의 조선수학사의 연구결과를 정리하여 조선 산학의 발전과정을 살펴본다. 본 논문이 한국수학사의 연구를 시작하는 연구자들에게 종자지식으로 사용되어 훌륭한 수학사 연구를 촉발할 수 있기를 희망한다.

Since 1949, The first generation leader MAO zedong liked reading history books and historical biography, It led to criticism and evaluation of history and character be targeted in every movement, before the February Outline(er yue ti gang) had been revoked, the Shanghai society discussed "Hai Rui's Dismissal "basically" within the "learning and using Chairman MAO's works(huo xue huo yong mao zhu xi zhu zuo)" category, with the deterioration of the national political situation, based on the historical drama "Hai Rui's Dismissal" discussions, the dilemma of cultural propaganda and academic research appeared.

In this paper we survey on the geometric development in the history of Joseon mathematics. We have relatively many research papers on the history of equations in Joseon but the history of geometry is limited to that of trigonometry (gugosul). We survey on the results on the whole geometry including the introduction of western geometry in Joseon. Joseon mathematics developed differently during several different periods. We investigate how geometric theories developed during those periods and the meaning behind them. We do not claim that our survey is anywhere close to a complete one. This is rather a preliminary attempt to collect research results to plan our research following those of our predecessors.

This research presents author co-citation analysis of the subject area in the humanities - Korean history. Three approaches to multivariate analyses were used to display the inter-author relationships in the similarity matrix. Data on co-citation of sixty seven authors for the period of 1980­1989 were extracted from the database constructed by author. The author's name, here refers to a body of writings by a person, is the unit of analysis. The data were subjected to non-metric multidimensional scaling program create two-dimensional map of authors. Authors with similarity are clustered using hierarchical agglomerative procedure and it is found that five clusters in Korean history represent primarily research specializations. Author map of Korean history reveals the first dimension corresponding to subject orientation of authors and the second dimension corresponds to research method or research style. In factor analysis, each factor reflects research specialty made up of authors, and factor locadings demonstrate the breadth or concentration of sixty seven authors' scholarly contributions on Korean history. It is demonstrated that the· specific methodology employed by this research, author co-citation analysis, is useful to represent the intellectual structure of Korean history.

본 연구는 전근대 우리 땅을 밟은 외국인들인 벨테브레와 하멜을 역사 수업에 어떻게 활용할 수 있는지에 대한 연구이다. 벨테브레와 하멜은 모두 네덜란드 사람이며, 조선에 먼저 표착한 이는 벨테브레였다. 네덜란드 동인도회사 소속의 선원이었던 벨테브레는 1627년 제주도에 상륙하였고, 이후 귀국하지 않고 '박연'이라는 이름으로 조선에 귀화하여 조선에 귀화한 최초의 서양인이 되었다. 박연은 당시 북벌정책을 실시하고 있던 조선에서 훈련도감에 근무하며 조선의 병기개발 및 개량에 커다란 역할을 다하였다. 네덜란드 동인도회사의 무역선 포수였던 하멜은 1653년 조선에 표류하여 13년 동안 여러 계층의 사람들과 접촉했고, 여러 지역으로 끌려 다니면서 당시 조선의 풍물과 풍속에 대한 사정을 자세히 관찰할 수 있었다. 교류사 학습은 세계사의 종합적인 이해에도 도움을 준다. 학생들은 서양사와 동아시아사, 한국사를 구분해서 배우기 때문에 세계 역사의 종합적인 흐름이나 시대별 서양과 동양의 모습에 대한 종합적인 이해가 힘들 수 있다. 전근대의 동서교류와 관련된 인물들에 대해 학습하는 것은 학생들로 하여금 서양과 동양의 역사를 세계 역사의 흐름 안에서 같이 연결 지어 이해할 수 있도록 해줄 것이다.

Source criticism is very important on the research of architectural history as well as general history. In this point this research studied on the original form and change of Dokrak-dang that is very important building in architectural history of Korea. The result is as in the following. Dokrak-dang that Whoijae built at first was three by two kans size that had daecheong of four kans and ondol-bang of two kans. Gye-jeong that Whoijae built was three kans size that had daecheong of two kans and ondol-bang of one kan. After Whoijae died, Dokrak-dang's ondol-bang was changed to maru between 1555 and 1556 and ondol-bang in west side and stack room was added in 1630. Gye-jeong was changed to ㄱ-shaped floor plan that was added up two kans from three kan's 'ㅡ'-shaped one.

In this paper, I will divide the history of mathematics into four development stages. These are based on significant developments of mathematical concepts or the creation of new fields of mathematics. Then, I will survey the history stages through a study of the characteristic method of research and the most important concepts from each period.
