  • Pulse oximetry is a well established non-invasive optical technique for monitoring the SpO$_2$ during anaesthesia, recovery and intensive care. Pulse oximeters determine the oxygen saturation level of blood by measuring the light absorption of arterial blood. The sensors consists of red and infrared light sources and photodetectors. In the measurement of the hemoglobin oxygen saturation, conventional method has required the technique of filtering of remove the noise, and of complex signal processing algorithm. So much time have required to signal processing. In this research, we separate AC signal and DC signal in the stage of signal detection. We filter the noise from each signal and convert A/D. We obtain the SpO$_2$ using the DSP algorithm.

  • SAW Sensor is greatly developed today and Reader Platform which uses SAW Sensor for temperature or pressure is required to use TDS method for low power and high speed processing. For to use this Platform, high speed timer is required to measure a short interval between reference signal and reflectior's signal. This paper proposes that platform receive SAW Sensor's signals and transform digital signal through comparator. Next the transformed signal is measured by Timer Platform and the measured interval is displayed with time. This paper proposes method of measurment of time with nano sec unit.

  • This paper describes the downlink design of a transportable small-sized KOMPSAT ground station using sub-carrier signal. Based on the analysis of the transmission modes of satellite real-time telemetry and range measurement signals, the downlink channel design of KOMPSAT ground station using sub-carrier signal was processed. By considering the threshold signal-to-noise ratio of real-time 2 kbps telemetry signal and the required signal-to-noise ratio for satellite range measurement, the small-sized KOMPSAT downlink channel with G/T value of 6.5 dB/K was designed. The real G/T of implemented ground station was proven to be 6.62 dB/K when measured using the Sun. Moreover, through interface test with KOMPSAT, the ground station has shown the required link performance for real-time telemetry acquisition using sub-carrier and was consequently evaluated to be adequate for a transportable small-sized KOMPSAT ground station.

  • With the recent development of IT technology, research and interest in various bio-signal measuring devices are increasing. But studies related to ECG(electrocardiogram), which is one of the most representative bio-signals, particularly arrhythmic signal detection, are incomplete. Since arrhythmia has various causes and has a poor prognosis after onset, preventive treatment through early diagnosis is best. However, the 24-hour Holter electrocardiogram, a tool for diagnosing arrhythmia, has disadvantages in the limitation of use time, difficulty in analyzing motion artifact due to daily life, and the user's real-time alarm function in danger. In this study, an ECG and pulse monitoring device capable of continuous measurement for a long time, a real-time monitoring app, and software for analysis were developed, and the trend of the measured values was confirmed. In future studies, research on derivation of quantitative results of ECG signal measurement analysis is required, and further research on the development of an arrhythmic signal detection algorithm based on this is required.

  • The purpose of this paper Is to propose a dubbed signal time-synchroniztion technique based on the SOLA(Synchronized Over-Lap and Add) method which has been widely used to modify the time scale of speech signal. In broadcasting audio recording environments, the high degree of background noise requires dubbing process. Since the time difference between the original and the dubbed signal ranges about 200mili seconds, process is required to make the dubbed signal synchronize to the corresponding image. The proposed method finds he starting point of the dubbing signal using the short-time energy of the two signals. Thereafter, LPC cepstrum analysis and DTW(Dynamic Time Warping) process are applied to synchronize phoneme positions of the two signals. After determining the matched point by the minimum mean square error between orignal and dubbed LPC cepstrums, the SOLA method is applied to the dubbed signal, to maintain the consistency of the corresponding phase. Effectiveness of proposed method is verified by comparing the waveforms and the spectrograms of the original and the time synchronized dubbing signal.

  • An investigation was conducted to evaluate both the time required and the time allowed for persons to cross streets. Currently, the local municipality uses a standardized formula to determine the time allotted for 'WALK' signals to function allowing pedestrian traffic to cross thoroughfares. The formula to determine the 'Theoretical Time(in seconds)' is the width of the street(in meter) divided by 1.2m/s. The basis of the denominator is 'normal' walking speed. Initially, 3 locations were chosen to evaluate the time between the appearance of the 'WALK' signal and the appearance of the 'DON'T WALK'. The interval between the two signals was assumed to allow a person to begin crossing the street at the appearance of the 'WALK' signal and terminate their crossing at the appearance of the 'DON'T WALK' signal. Of the 3 locations, 2 locations(elementary?middle schools and general hospital areas), the duration of the 'WALK' signal were not properly set and therefore need more time for those who use these cross walks. Specific details regarding the crossing locations and validity of the standardized formula were also presented and discussed.

  • Electrical currents generated by human heart activities create magnetic fields represented by MCG(MagnetoCardioGram). Since an MCG signal acquisition system requires precise and stable operation, the system adopts hundreds of SQUID(Superconducting QUantum Interface Device) sensors for signal acquisition. Such a system requires fast real-time data acquisition in a required sampling interval, i.e., 1 mili-second for each sensor. This paper presents designed hardware to acquire data from 256-channel analog signal with 1 ksamples/sec speed, using 12-bit 8-channel ADC devices, SPI interfaces, parallel interfaces, 8-bit microprocessors, and a DSP processor. We implemented SPI interface between ADCs and a microprocessor, parallel interfaces between microprocessors. Our result concludes that the data collection can be done in $168{\mu}sec$ time-interval for 256 SQUID sensors, which can be interpreted to 6 ksamples/sec speed.

  • Multi-target away signal simulator which can simulate the radiated noises of maneuvering targets in a specified ocean range is an essential equipment for the validation of developed towed array sonar system. This simulator should provide realistic multi-channel signals those are required for beamforming on the signal processing unit of towed away system. This paper describes the overall system configuration and signal synthesis techniques for the target radiated noise. And this paper considers why the time delays between target and individual sensors are caused and how to compensate these time delays to individual sensors output. This multi-purpose target simulator could be used for the training of TASS operators.
