Reputation Rating Mode and Aggregating Method of Online Reputation Management System

  • With the rapid development of electronic commerce, online reputation management systems are of increasing importance in building trust and managing risk. Reputation rating mode and aggregating method are the most crucial parts of a reputation management system. In this paper, we analyze the merits and disadvantages associated with the rating mode and aggregating approach of current reputation management systems, and put forward some suggestions. These suggestions are helpful in improving current reputation management systems and developing new reputation management systems.

  • 신뢰는 다른 상대가 특정한 행동을 할 것이라고 믿는 정도를 나타내는 주관적인 확률값으로 정의할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 신뢰값을 결정하는 데서 고려되는 기질신뢰, 일반신뢰, 상황신뢰를 모두 고려하고, 또한 상대에 대한 명성정보를 이용하는 종합적인 퍼지 신뢰모델을 제안한다. 제안한 모델은 거래에 대한 평가결과들에 대해서 만족하는 정도를 퍼지집합으로 나타내고 평가 항목에 대한 중요도를 ${\lambda}$-퍼지측도의 성질을 만족하도록 설정하고, 평가항목별 만족정도를 Sugeno 퍼지적분을 이용하여 결합하는 방법을 사용한다.

기업평판이 회사몰입과 이직의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (The Moderating Effects of Employer Trust on the Effect of Organizational Reputation)

  • 본 연구는 현대기업의 경쟁력과 관련된 중요한 요인 중 하나인 기업평판에 관한 연구이다. 기업평판에 관한 연구들은 주로 외부고객관점에서 이루어져 왔는데, 최근들어 내부고객관점에서 평판의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 비교적 외부이해관계자 관점에서 주로 고려된 기업평판을 내부이해관계자인 종업원 관점에서 고찰함으로써 기업의 성과를 예측하는 중요한 변수로서 기업평판의 관리가 필요하다는 점을 주장하고 있다. 이론적 논의와 실증분석을 통해 기업평판이 회사몰입과 이직의도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였고, 기업평판의 보다 다양한 시사점을 위해 기업차원의 사회적 자본이라고 할 수 있는 경영자신뢰의 조절효과를 검증하였다. 포항지역의 금속산업 종업원 239명을 대상으로 연구가설을 검증하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 기업평판이 높을수록 회사몰입은 높고 이직 의도는 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 경영자신뢰는 기업평판이 회사몰입에 미치는 영향을 강화하는 작용을 하였지만 이직의도에 미치는 영향에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 이러한 실증연구결과를 토대로 연구의 시사점 제시하고 있다.

User Reputation computation Method Based on Implicit Ratings on Social Media

  • Social network services have recently changed from environments for simply building connections among users to open platforms for generating and sharing various forms of information. Existing user reputation computation methods are inadequate for determining the trust in users on social media where explicit ratings are rare, because they determine the trust in users based on user profile, explicit relations, and explicit ratings. To solve this limitation of previous research, we propose a user reputation computation method suitable for the social media environment by incorporating implicit as well as explicit ratings. Reliable user reputation is estimated by identifying malicious information raters, modifying explicit ratings, and applying them to user reputation scores. The proposed method incorporates implicit ratings into user reputation estimation by differentiating positive and negative implicit ratings. Moreover, the method generates user reputation scores for individual categories to determine a given user's expertise, and incorporates the number of users who participated in rating to determine a given user's influence. This allows reputation scores to be generated also for users who have received no explicit ratings, and, thereby, is more suitable for social media. In addition, based on the user reputation scores, malicious information providers can be identified.

  • Facing competitive and complicated business environment, many companies are developing new and diverse organization forms not only to overcome to minimize costs and risks but also to maximize the efficiency of an organization. Virtual organization is one of the representative forms allowing firms to create this value though a link of core competency among firms. In order to explain the performance of virtual organization in terms of efficiency, this study utilizes a concept of trust since it is recently considered as one of core concept to enhance the cooperative performance between firms and also virtual organizations success or failure can not be properly explained by traditional transaction-cost based economic point of view. Based on previous literature this study derives three success factors, organizational reputation, skill Uniqueness, and interpersonal trust and studies how three factors influence on the efficiency of virtual organization. Findings conducted with a questionnaire survey are as follow: first, organization reputation and skill uniqueness between virtual organization's transaction parties are important elements in the success of virtual organization. Second, interpersonal trust affected by organization reputation and skill uniqueness decides virtual organization's efficiency.

  • 전자상거래에서 신뢰도는 전자상거래 서비스 제공업체의 비가시성이나 그들의 평판으로 인한 소비자의 우려를 완화시켜주기 때문에 사용자의 신뢰수준을 추정하는 것은 전자상거래의 지속적 사용에 있어 중요한 기술이다. 기존의 신뢰도 측정법은 주로 전자상거래 시스템에서 사용된 정책과 평판기반의 추론에 근거한 사용자들의 초기 경험에 중심을 두었다. 그러나, 보다 성숙된 단계의 전자상거래 시스템 지속사용 가능성 추정을 위한 신뢰도 측정에 대해서는 별다른 대안이 없었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 성숙단계에서의 전자상거래 시스템에 알맞은 신뢰도 추론방법을 제안한다. 특히, 친밀도는 평판뿐 아니라 신뢰도와도 깊이 관계하고 있기 때문에 사용자의 입력을 강제하지 않는 친밀도 측정 방법을 새롭게 개발하였다. 성과 측정을 위한 실험에서는 제안된 방법이 유효하고, 평판기반의 신뢰도 추론과 함께 사용할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Thwarting Sybil Attackers in Reputation-based Scheme in Mobile Ad hoc Networks

  • Routing in mobile ad hoc networks is performed in a distributed fashion where each node acts as host and router, such that it forwards incoming packets for others without relying on a dedicated router. Nodes are mostly resource constraint and the users are usually inclined to conserve their resources and exhibit selfish behaviour by not contributing in the routing process. The trust and reputation models have been proposed to motivate selfish nodes for cooperation in the packet forwarding process. Nodes having bad trust or reputation are detected and secluded from the network, eventually. However, due to the lack of proper identity management and use of non-persistent identities in ad hoc networks, malicious nodes can pose various threats to these methods. For example, a malicious node can discard the bad reputed identity and enter into the system with another identity afresh, called whitewashing. Similarly, a malicious node may create more than one identity, called Sybil attack, for self-promotion, defame other nodes, and broadcast fake recommendations in the network. These identity-based attacks disrupt the overall detection of the reputation systems. In this paper, we propose a reputation-based scheme that detects selfish nodes and deters identity attacks. We address the issue in such a way that, for normal selfish nodes, it will become no longer advantageous to carry out a whitewash. Sybil attackers are also discouraged (i.e., on a single battery, they may create fewer identities). We design and analyse our rationale via game theory and evaluate our proposed reputation system using NS-2 simulator. The results obtained from the simulation demonstrate that our proposed technique considerably diminishes the throughput and utility of selfish nodes with a single identity and selfish nodes with multiple identities when compared to the benchmark scheme.

Computational Trust and Its Impact over Rational Purchasing Decisions of Internet Users

  • As web-based online communities are rapidly growing, the agents in the communities need to know their measurable belief of trust for safe and successful interactions. In this paper, we propose a computational model of trust resulting from available feedbacks in online communities. The notion of trust can be defined as an aggregation of consensus given a set of past interactions. The average trust of an agent further represents the center of gravity of the distribution of its trustworthiness and untrustworthiness. Furthermore, we precisely describe the relationships among reputation, trust and average trust through concrete examples showing their computations. We apply our trust model to online social networks in order to show how trust mechanisms are involved in the rational purchasing decision-making of buyers and sellers, and we summarize our simulation results.

The Effects of Internet Shoppers' Trust on Purchasing Intention in China

  • Recently, owing to the rapid development of Internet and information technology in China, the growth of consumers' purchasing activities in the Internet Shopping Mall has been truly phenomenal. Thus, it is considered essential to understand what affects Chinese consumer's intention to purchase in the Internet Shopping Mall. Based on prior studies, trust is thought as a key factor affecting on Chinese consumers' purchasing intention. Hence, the purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of Chinese consumer's trust on purchasing intention of Internet Shopping Mall. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, a research model has been established and it suggests that there are significant relationships between trust and purchasing intention, e-commerce knowledge and trust, perceived reputation and trust, perceived risk and trust, perceived ease of use and purchasing intention. The results of the study show that the relationships between these variables are all significant. This research confirms the important effect of Chinese consumer's trust on purchasing intention. Implications of these findings are discussed for researchers and practitioners.

후기게시판 신뢰 요인 연구: 온라인 쇼핑몰 후기게시판을 중심으로 (The Consumer Trust on e-WOM: In the Perspective of Seller Managed Web Review Boards)

  • Although e-commerce is growing fast, e-commerce consumers are still under higher risk and uncertainty in the comparison of the traditional commerce's. Consumer review boards of online shopping malls are good measures to help buyer's decision making, and should be managed effectively by sellers. We formulate the research model on consumer trust formation on seller managed web review boards on the background of previous literatures on e-WOM and trust. Our data analysis with 368 samples shows seller's reputation, e-service quality, perceived reviewer's benevolence and ability have significant positive effect on the trustworthiness of the board. Product involvement shows weak negative moderation effect on the relationship between perceived reviewer's benevolence and trustworthiness of review boards.
