대화 참여자 결정을 통한 Character-net의 개선 (Improvement of Character-net via Detection of Conversation Participant)

  • 동영상 검색이나 축약과 같은 동영상 분석을 위해 동영상 어노테이션 기술이나 동영상 정보 표현에 대한 다양한 연구가 있어왔다. 이를 위해 본 논문은 대화 참여자 결점을 위한 영상적 요소와 이러한 요소를 이용하여 Character-net 표현을 개선하는 방법을 제안한다. 기존 Character-net이 자막이 뜨는 시간에 나타나는 등장인물들만을 대화참여자로 고려하므로 일부의 청자를 제외시키는 문제점이 있다. 대화 참여자는 대화상황 파악의 극히 중요한 요소로 동영상 검색 시에 기준이 될 수 있으며 동영상의 이야기 전개를 이끌어 나간다. 대화 참여자를 결정하기 위한 영상적 요소에는 자막의 유무, 장면, 인물 등장순서, 시선방향, 패턴, 입의 움직임 등이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 영상적 요소에 근거하여 대화 참여자를 판단하고 동영상 표현방법인 Character-net을 개선하고자 한다. 제안한 여러 요소들이 결합되고 일정한 조건이 만족되었을 때 대화참여자를 정확히 검출할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 대화참여자를 결정하기 위한 영상적 요소들을 제안하고 이를 통해 Character-net의 표현성능을 개선하고 실험을 통하여 제안된 방법론이 대화 참여자 판단의 정확성과 Character-net의 표현성능을 제고함을 증명하였다.

취병(翠屛) 재현을 위한 조성 방법 연구 (A Study on the Composition Method for Representation of Chwibyeong)

  • 본 연구는 임원십육지 관병법에 나타난 취병의 조성 방법을 토대로 문헌상으로만 연구된 취병을 실제 수목 식재와 시설물의 설치를 통해 재현해 보았으며, 이를 통해 다음의 결과들을 도출하였다. 첫째, 문헌에 나타난 취병 조성 방법을 분석하여 취병 재현의 기본 방향을 제시하였다. 둘째, 문헌분석을 통해 파악된 조성 방법으로 취병을 재현하였으며, 재현 과정 중에 나타난 수목 생육 특성, 시설물 조성 방법의 특이성을 문헌분석 내용과 비교 분석토록 하였다. 셋째, 취병 재현 과정을 통해 파악된 수목 관리 방법, 시설물 설치 방법 등의 관리 방법을 도출하였다. 현재 창덕궁 주합루 전면에는 취병이 재현되어 있으나, 기존 연구 결과와는 다른 방법으로 조성되어 문헌상에 나타난 취병의 모습과는 다른 모습을 보이고 있다. 따라서 취병의 원형 재현은, 18세기 이후 한국 정원 요소로서 사용되어온 취병의 고유성과 전통성을 찾을 수 있게 할 것이며, 이를 통해 한국 정원의 정취를 찾는데 중요한 역할을 할 것이다.

표상성을 중심으로한 공간 이미지화에 관한 연구 (A Study of imagification of space laying emphasis on representation)

  • New images percolate through human consciousness by the media such as movies, TV programs, and brilliant advertisements. These images reproduce new ' things ' throughout the ' semantic processes ' by those who experience and recognize them. Alvin Toffler describes it as the ' information bomb ' and ' image fragments ' in his talk about the new paradigm of information-oriented era. The increasing number of images and their accelerating rate of appearance imply that images become more momentary, and are evidence that they are transforming entire human life and consciousness. Such awareness means a lot to a designer. Especially, the subject that how modern space-dominating images are related to the structure and materials constituting the space and communicate with human mind will be an important factor in establishing the human-space relationship in the future. Furthermore, the present age overspread with various medium is not the only one privileged of the images that exist within space. They are the results of continuous expansion of existing images, and also process of evolution of space powered by the fusion of images and digital media. Imagified space is a boundary layer of Cyberspace, and the space itself becomes an interface by human recognition and participation. Now, the functional classification of spaces such as ' office, ' ' cafe, ' and ' school ' is meaningless. Whatever it may be, the function of a space is defined by the information it interfaces, and therefore it becomes an interface to information through a large number of images. Based on this idea, we will observe the imagificaiton of space in the form of discussion, and from that, try to understand the phenomenon through the real world examples.

비정형 건축 형상정보의 효과적인 전달을 위한 도면표현요소 연구 (Drawing Elements and Methods for Delivering Shape Information of Freeform Architecture)

  • In the representation of buildings with continuous changes in the curved shape of the surface, countless plans or sections are required, or none of the traditional drawings can explain the geometry of it. In other words, in no case can an ordinary drawing achieve the efficient and clear communication capability which is inherent function of the drawings. As a result, the current architects are introducing their own way of drawing technique which is developed in accordance with a specific curved shape, construction method or company resources, but this is not what can be applied to other cases because it has not been ever shared or agreed in the industry. In this process, the drawing or construction of curved building has been recognized as the exclusive property of a specific expert, or the design and construction without the in-depth understanding of the technology have resulted in the appearance of poor buildings. Therefore, this study aims to present an elements and method that can convey shape information more effectively and clearly in the drawing representation of non-linear buildings and, thus, contributes to lowering the barriers to entry into the field by providing the information to be easily applied to related projects. In order to attain this goal, the drawings of recently completed projects of free form building are analyzed to reveal the method used to effectively express the shape information of the building and to derive new drawing elements that have not been applied to the existing drawings.

가상 아바타의 각막면에 비친 반사영상의 시각적 실재감에 대한 실감표현 요소 (Realistic Expression Factor to Visual Presence of Virtual Avatar in Eye Reflection)

  • 최근 가상환경에서는 실재감 있는 인간의 얼굴 모델을 설계하기 위하여 얼굴의 형태나 근육의 움직임과 같이 단순히 일반적인 표현요소를 중심으로 모델링 되고 있다. 하지만, 이러한 얼굴 자체의 외형적 요소 이외에도 외적 요소에 의한 얼굴 부분의 변화 인자는 가상 아바타를 효과적으로 표현하기 위한 중요한 요소이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가상 아바타의 각막면에 비친 반사영상(eye reflection)을 기반으로 사용자의 시각적 실재감에 대한 반응을 평가한다. 실험결과, 각막면의 반사율을 크게 하여 반사영상이 뚜렷하게 나타난 경우 높은 실감을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 새로운 시각적 실감표현요소를 제안하고, 제안된 실감표현요소의 구체적인 표현 범위를 제시함으로써 사실적인 가상 아바타를 설계하기 위한 기초 연구로써 활용 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

CIELAB 색공간에서 균일한 분포를 갖는 색역사상 참조 테이블 생성 방법 (Generation Method of Color Gamut Mapping Look-up Table Uniformly Selected in the CIELAB Color Space)

  • 장치간 색변환을 위한 색역사상은 영상의 현색을 향상시키거나 보존하기 위하여 장치사이에 색을 변환하기 위한 방법이다. 색 역사상은 본질적으로 색변환 오차를 발생시키며, 이때 색변환 오차는 색역사상 방법, 원시 및 목적 장치 , 그리고 색역 모델링을 위한 표본점에 의존한다. 모니터와 프린터사이의 색 변환의 경우 각 장치에 대한 모델링을 위해 표본의 측정값에 기초한 경험적인 표기법을 많이 사용한다. 색표본은 CMY 혹은 RGB와 같은 장치 색 공간에서 균일하게 분포된 색표본을 측정해서 사용한다. 그러나, 프린터 표본의 경우 이러한 표본들은 프린터 색역 내부에 균일하게 분포되지 않으므로 색변환 오차가 증가한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 장치 독립적인 색공간인 CIELAB공간에서 균등하게 분포하는 색표본 생성법을 제안하고 3차원 보간법을 이용한 색변환 실험을 통해 제안된 색표본 생성 방법의 성능을 평가하였다.

REAL-TIME 3D SIMULATION INFRASTRUCTURE FOR PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF HIGH-RESOLUTION SATELLITE IMAGERY

  • The needs for digital models of real environment such as 3D terrain or cyber city model are increasing. Most of applications related with modeling and simulation require virtual environment constructed from geospatial information of real world in order to guarantee reliability and accuracy of the simulation. The most fundamental data for building virtual environment, terrain elevation and orthogonal imagery is acquired from optical sensor of satellite or airplane. Providing interoperable and reusable digital model is important to promote practical application of high-resolution satellite imagery. This paper presents the new research regarding representation of geospatial information, especially for 3D shape and appearance of virtual terrain, and describe framework for constructing real-time 3D model of large terrain based on high-resolution satellite imagery. It provides infrastructure of 3D simulation with geographical context. Details of standard-based approach for providing infrastructure of real-time 3D simulation using high-resolution satellite imagery are also presented. This work would facilitate interchange and interoperability across diverse systems and be usable by governments, industry scientists and general public.

Distributed Video Compressive Sensing Reconstruction by Adaptive PCA Sparse Basis and Nonlocal Similarity

  • To improve the rate-distortion performance of distributed video compressive sensing (DVCS), the adaptive sparse basis and nonlocal similarity of video are proposed to jointly reconstruct the video signal in this paper. Due to the lack of motion information between frames and the appearance of some noises in the reference frames, the sparse dictionary, which is constructed using the examples directly extracted from the reference frames, has already not better obtained the sparse representation of the interpolated block. This paper proposes a method to construct the sparse dictionary. Firstly, the example-based data matrix is constructed by using the motion information between frames, and then the principle components analysis (PCA) is used to compute some significant principle components of data matrix. Finally, the sparse dictionary is constructed by these significant principle components. The merit of the proposed sparse dictionary is that it can not only adaptively change in terms of the spatial-temporal characteristics, but also has ability to suppress noises. Besides, considering that the sparse priors cannot preserve the edges and textures of video frames well, the nonlocal similarity regularization term has also been introduced into reconstruction model. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can improve the objective and subjective quality of video frame, and achieve the better rate-distortion performance of DVCS system at the cost of a certain computational complexity.

18세기 '중국풍 정원(Anglo-Chinese garden)'의 문화전이에 관하여 (A Transcultural Reflection on Anglo-Chinese Gardens in the 18th Century)

  • The tradition of the representative art style in the Sinosphere, Shanshui hua, expresses the traditional representation of the harmony and principle of the universe. This tradition is reflected in the Chinese garden. These Chinese gardens were precisely the three-dimension representations of Shanshui hua, a visual form of abstract expression of the oriental philosophical thinking. This research determines and draws attention to the vestiges of the reflection of Shanshui hua in the European gardens through visual art and culture. It will also approach the two subjects, Shanshui hua and garden, from a transcultural view to integrally analyze visual art. The appearance of Anglo-Chinese gardens, reflecting Shanshui hua, foreshowed a big change in traditional European gardens. This is a concrete example of the transcultural phenomenon. This has formed the typical naturally curved English gardens in the gardening history. This also divided these English gardens completely from the symmetrical, geometrical French gardens. This study considers the influence and the reverberation of Shanshui hua reflected on European gardens in the European culture. The cultural exchange of European and Chinese styles in the 18th century left an impact on the European gardening style history. Finally, this study analyzes the origin of these Anglo-Chinese gardens and its content to approach it with a transcultural view as a research methodology.

An Open Standard-based Terrain Tile Production Chain for Geo-referenced Simulation
