As the exiting school facilities become old and unfit for new curriculum, the systematical remodelling process based on its educational and physical functions is required. due to the inadequate maintenance and repairing practices, unnecessary costs are expended. Therefore, this study aims to establish a remodelling decision-making model for improving the educational environment of the existing school facilities. According to the budget system, it proposes the concept of remodelling that includes the activities of extension, reconstruction, repair and improvement. This study classifies the performance evaluation for school facilities as that of safety, durability and educational function, and articulates the assessment standards, methods and elements. In the end, it suggests a rational model for remodelling decision-making that can provide efficient and comprehensive remodelling process, economic and sustainable school development.

This study was executed by means of "user participatory design method", as a part of the public facility remodelling project supervised by the Seoul Municipality. This study aimed to complement and improve the methodology through reviewing the whole process of participatory design implementation and examining closely whether the activities, design methods and tools that have been applied at each stage were helpful to reflect the users' demands successfully. Given all of those, it implies; first, it is very meaningful that public facility remodelling project by "user participatory design" leads the ordinary users to have direct opportunity to participate in the public business and to change their perception of the restroom environment in school. Second, it is necessary to integrate the roles of the facilitator and the architect from the beginning stage of the process, which makes it feasible to reflect the users' needs to the final stage. Third, it is required to modify the design tools that enable non-professional participants to understand their tasks and to perform them effectively at the stage of decision making.

In this study, the service concept was explained, which could be applied to the development process of new service in service design specially. The service concept has the important role in decision making in the service planning stage as to the new strategic service development or service remodelling. This service concept is very useful for customized operational planning or service recovery through the combination of various service element, and for reviewing the possibility of service's success as of customer's acceptance related to business model throughout the service concept test. Finally, in this study, some models are suggested that the service development model including the service concept, also the test model about service concept in the process of service development.

In recent years, there has been more reconstruction and redevelopment of apartments rather than efforts to consider alternative to extend the life time oh the apartments. It is essential to try to develop ways to adequately maintain and to use the apartment facilities efficiently in order to preserve earth environment and the limited resource. However, lacking research on the effects obtained through remodelling and maintenance have interfered with the vitalizing of the market. The objective of this study is to propose criterions and methods with which to evaluate adequacy of developing method. A survey was performed to investigate important evaluating methods in order to obtain advices that can smoothly progress improve apartment developing method. This study applied AHP(Analytical Hierarchy Process) methods for reasonable dependancy of developing in apartment. Through this study, the flow of apartment market is elevated to reaching the level in advanced nation.

Given both structural safety and economic benefits of aging facilities, remodelling of the existing facilities is preferable to reconstruction. This recognition provides an opportunity to reduce the commitment of resources and national budget. However, when a subordinate troop asks for remodeling or reconstruction of a deteriorated facility, it is difficult to ensure the consistency and objectivity in the process of decision making for the alternatives due to the absence of systematic and quantitative rating methodology. Their economic evaluation methodology only exists in a manual format. Thus, further research is required for converting the methodology into an automated system in view of practicality such as rapid and accurate data processing. The contributions of this study are as follows: 1) Literature review found out a representative economic evaluation model focused on military facilities, and comparative analysis with a similar study identified the strength and weakness. 2) this study presented how to convert the theoretical framework which enables to solve a specific subject matter into an automated system. 3) it developed a user friendly interfaces which consist of four functional modules by considering the usability and accessibility of the system user. 4) the developed system was verified by a case study in terms of four kinds of performance indicators.
