  • This paper is concerned with the influence of changes in stochastic parameters of the important resistance variables such as the strength modelling parameter and material and geometric properties, on the system safety level of TLP structures. The effect of parameters governing the post-ultimate behaviour is also addressed. An extended incremental load method is employed for the present study, which has been successfully applied to the system reliability analysis of continuous structures. The Hutton Field TLP and its one variant called herein TLP-B, are chosen as TLP models in this paper. The results of several parameteric studies lead to useful conclusions relating to the importance of reducing uncertainties in strength formulae and relating the importance of component post-ultimate behaviour to the systems reliability of such structures.

  • At present Level 2 and importance sampling methods are the main tools used to estimate reliability of structural systems. But sometimes application of these techniques to realistic problems involves certain difficulties. In order to overcome the difficulties it is suggested to use Monte Carlo simulation in combination with two other techniques-extreme value and tail entropy approximations; an appropriate Pearson's curve is fit to represent simulation results. On the basis of this approach an algorithm and computer program for structural reliability estimation are developed. A number of specially chosen numerical examples are considered with the aim of checking the accuracy of the approach and comparing it with the Level 2 and importance sampling methods. The field of application of the approach is revealed.

  • Social capital contains relational, structural and cognitive dimensions. This study regards social capital as diminishing factor in innovation resistance. Trust, structuring individual tie and vision sharing which are representatives of three dimensions of social capital diminish innovation resistance. So innovation becomes more successful.

  • In this article, we compare the reliability and the hazard function between a baseline distribution and the corresponding transmuted-G distribution. Some examples based on existing transmuted-G distributions in literature are used. Three tests of parameter significance are utilized to test the importance of a transmuted-G distribution over the baseline distribution, and real data is used in an application of the inference about the importance of transmuted-G distributions.

  • A network with variable link capacities is considered to be in a functioning state if it can transmit a maximum flow which is greater than or equal to a specified amount of flow. The links are independent and either function or fail with known probability. No flow can be transmitted through a failed link. In this paper, we consider the measures of importance of a link in such networks. We define the structural importance and reliability importance, with respect to capacity, of a link when the required amount of flow is given. We also present the performance importance with respect to capacity. Numerical examples are presented as well for illustrative purpose.

  • Nowadays there are gradually the importance issues of embedded software for productivity as the fusion and complexity of industry. Especially, people are recognizing the importance of reliability within the embedded software systems(e.g. weapons and medical equipments, etc.). It makes currently mention of software reliability on ISO/IEC 9126, 12119, etc.. However, it is insufficient for the embedded software area in spite of being mentioned the generic software. To do this, we suggest our embedded software reliability assessment through extracting the embedded software meaurement items from reliability assessment items of ISO/IEC 9126, 12119 series.

  • The importance of the reliability of software is growing more and more as more complicated digital computer systems are used for real-time control applications. To provide more reliable software, the testing period should be long enough, but not unnecessarily too long. In this study, we suggest a simple but effective stopping rule which can provide just proper amount of testing time. We take unique features of software into consideration and adopt non-homogeneous Poisson process model and Bayesian approach. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity of our stopping rule.

  • In the field of environmental landscape architecture, the internet medium is used as an effective communication tool not only in the private level but also in the policy level. Recently, the active utilization of mobile web service is emphasized as the time changes, but there is not much improvement or advance in services due to lack of relevant studies. Therefore, this study is intended to provide basic data needed for improvement and advance by researching the quality of mobile web service among multichannel services provided in environmental landscape architecture related internet media. The model for measuring service quality is SERVQUAL, which was verified in the study of Choi(2015), Choi and Koo(2016), and the final valid samples are total 230. First, the subjects were analyzed as the representative media that are possible to acquire comprehensive knowledge related to environmental landscape architecture. Second, the highest importance level in each subsection was 'protection and security maintenance of customer information' followed by 'Reliability about accurate information supply'. Regarding performance level, 'Reliability about accurate information supply' and 'professional knowledge to communicate with users' are highly evaluated. Third, regarding Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA), the first priority management should is 'Tangibles', and the next are 'Responsibility' and 'Empathy'. The ones for maintenance of the status quo are 'Reliability' and 'Assurance', and there is none for effort reduction. Meanwhile, regarding the importance of each factor and difference in the quality of PC web service and mobile web service studied before, the biggest difference is in 'Tangibles', followed by 'Assurance', 'Empathy', 'Responsibility' and 'Reliability'. It is suggested that the revitalization of Landscape information science(LB1106) presented in the National Science&Technology Standard Classification System is needed. In the future, it is necessary to research the change trend on users' response through continuous evaluation of improved mobile web service.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and present the accreditation criteria for engineering technology education programs in junior colleges. Research methods used in this study were review of related literature, experts discussion, and Delphi technique. Especially, Delphi technique was the major research method of this study. The Delphi surveys were taken for about seven weeks and three rounds at a higher level of expert participation. Major results of the study were as follows: 1. It proved that thirty six of total forty items had the content validity as the accreditation criteria of engineering technology education programs for junior colleges. CVR(Content Validity Ratio) of four items were below .33 and eliminated four items from the final accreditation criteria. 2. It proved that total Cronbach ${\alpha}$ was very high .9142 and reliability was very high all over items. It proved that six items made worse reliability, therefore it was desirable to exclude six items for increase of reliability. But the final accreditation criteria included six items, because they had a high validity as well as increasing rate of Cronbach ${\alpha}$ was very low with the exception of them. 3. Items of high importance were drawn out through analysis of importance. It proved that thirty of total forty items were more than 4.00 average in importance and ten items were less than average. 4. In conclusion, the final accreditation criteria were developed and presented through such analysis of validity, reliability and importance. The final accreditation criteria for engineering technology education programs in junior colleges were composed of seven domains of educational objectives, learning outcomes, curriculum, staff, facilities, institutional support, and student assessment.
