한반도 지역의 기후변화에 의한 고산·아고산 식생 취약성 평가 (Vulnerability Assessment of Sub-Alpine Vegetations by Climate Change in Korea)

  • This study's objects are to predict distribution and to assess vulnerability of sub-alpine vegetations in the Korean peninsula for climate change using various climate models. This study validates relationship between sub-alpine vegetations and environmental factors using Pearson correlation analysis. Then, the future distribution of sub-alpine vegetations are predicted by a logistic regression. The major findings in this study are; First, spring mean temperature (March-May), total precipitation, elevation and warmth index are highly influencing factors to the distribution of sub-alpine vegetations. Second, the sub-alpine vegetations will be disappeared in South Korea and concentrated around Baekdu Mountain in North Korea. North Korea is predicted to have serious impact of climate change because temperature will be increased higher than in South Korea. The study findings concluded that the assessment of the future vulnerability of sub-alpine vegetations to climate change are significant.

인도 서히말리아산 블루파인(Pinus wallichiana)의 연륜생장과 기후와의 관계 (Climate and Growth Relationship in Blue Pine (Pinus wallichiana) from the Western Himalaya, India)

  • Ring width chronologies of blue pine (pinus wallichiana) from two mesic sites, Kanasar(2, 400 m) and Gangotri(3, 000 m), in the western Himalayan region. India were developed to understand tree growth-climate relationship and its applicability in proxy climate studies. The resoponse function analyses of the two chronologies show that the site conditions play an important role in modulating the effect of climatic variables on tree growth. Winter temperature, prior to the growth year, has been found to play positive influence on blue pine growth at both sites. Summer temperature also has very similar response except for June and August. June temperature has negative influence at the lower in contrary to at the higher site. Low August temperature favors tree growth to precipitation has been found to vary which could be due to different precipitation regime at the two sites. Winter precipitation is important for tree growth at the higher, whereas summer at the lower sits. The present study suggests that the tree ring materials of blue pine from the temperate Himalayan regions could be used to develop chronologies for the reconstruction of seasonal climatic variables.

안전분위기와 안전성과의 관계 및 연령의 조절효과 (The Relationship Between Safety Climate and Safety Performance, and the Moderating Effect of Age)

  • With Zohar(1980)'s research on safety climate and industrial safety, occupational safety and health literatures begin to emphasize the influence of organizational context. Based on this research trend, this paper tried to review the relationship between individual/ organizational factors and occupational accidents. Based on the responses from 294 manufacturing workers, this paper reviewed the relationships among safety climates, safety performance, and age. The results of statistical analysis showed that all safety climate factors have affirmative effects on safety participation and safety attitudes negative effect on accident number, and job load affirmative effect on accident number. Job load and management commitment showed interactive effects on accident number with age.

경쟁적 운동선수들의 완벽주의성향과 동기분위기의 상관관계 (The Relationship between Perfectionism and Motivational Climate in Competitive Athletes)

  • 본 연구에서는 기록종목과 대인종목의 경쟁적 운동선수를 과업지향 동기분위기와 자아지향 동기분위기가 완벽주의성향에 미치는 영향을 분석함으로써, 최적의 운동수행능력을 발휘할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 대한민국 국가대표 선수촌에서 훈련 중인 엘리트 성인선수 196명을 대상으로 인구통계학적 특성과 완벽주의성향 및 동기분위기에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였고, 기록종목과 대인종목으로 분류하여 종목에 따른 인구통계학적 특성과 완벽주의성향, 동기분위기의 차이를 확인하기 위해 교차검증 또는 독립변인 t-검증을 실시하였으며, 구조방정식 모형분석을 통해 가설검증 및 모형적합도를 확인하였다. 그 결과, 완벽주의성향과 과업지향 및 자아지향 동기분위기 모두 대인종목 선수가 기록종목 선수보다 강한 것으로 확인되었고, 기록종목 운동선수의 경우 과제지향 동기분위기와 자아지향 동기분위기 모두 완벽주의성향에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으며 과제지향보다 자아지향 동기분위기가 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 대인종목 운동선수의 경우에는 자아지향 동기분위기만이 완벽주의성향에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으나, 두 연구모형 모두 나쁜 적합도를 보였다.

The Relationships Among Occupational Safety Climate, Patient Safety Climate, and Safety Performance Based on Structural Equation Modeling

  • Objectives: The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationships among hospital safety climate, patient safety climate, and safety outcomes among nurses. Methods: In the current cross-sectional study, the occupational safety climate, patient safety climate, and safety performance of nurses were measured using several questionnaires. Structural equation modeling was applied to test the relationships among occupational safety climate, patient safety climate, and safety performance. Results: A total of 211 nurses participated in this study. Over half of them were female (57.0%). The age of the participants tended to be between 20 years and 30 years old (55.5%), and slightly more than half had less than 5 years of work experience (51.5%). The maximum and minimum scores of occupational safety climate dimensions were found for reporting of errors and cumulative fatigue, respectively. Among the dimensions of patient safety climate, non-punitive response to errors had the highest mean score, and manager expectations and actions promoting patient safety had the lowest mean score. The correlation coefficient for the relationship between occupational safety climate and patient safety climate was 0.63 (p<0.05). Occupational safety climate and patient safety climate also showed significant correlations with safety performance. Conclusions: Close correlations were found among occupational safety climate, patient safety climate, and nurses' safety performance. Therefore, improving both the occupational and patient safety climate can improve nurses' safety performance, consequently decreasing occupational and patient-related adverse outcomes in healthcare units.

  • Climate change is a man-made disaster that has become a major global concern today. With increasingly visible symptoms of climate change in recent years, it has become evident that climate action can no longer be dismissed as a mere matter of choice, but as a matter of survival for the human being. To address the impending climate change crisis in a collaborative and sustainable manner, the international community has been taking various measures including Kyoto protocol and the Paris Agreement. With respect to the private investor's project investment in line with international agreements on climate change, recently we have seen multiple legal judgments which clearly indicate the subject of judicial responsibility for investment in climate change related projects. However, in order to hold judicial responsibility occurring during the implementation of climate change related projects, a causal relationship between the responsible entities and clear responsibility must be demonstrated, and applicable institutional arrangements need to be arranged. It may be the right time for global community to consider shifting not only to human ethical obligations but also legal obligations. In this regard, concerned governments should consider legislating arbitration laws, regulations, and institutional arrangements in more specific and applicable manner.

  • 팀 구성원의 다양성이 팀 성과에 미치는 영향이 다양하기 때문에 기업은 팀 다양성의 효과 및 다양성 관리방법에 대해 관심을 가져야 한다. 즉, 기업은 다양성의 결과뿐만 아니라 다양성의 긍부정의 효과를 극대화 혹은 최소화 할 수 있는 방법에 대해 고민해봐야 한다. 본 연구의 주요 목적은 팀 구성원의 가치 다양성이 팀 정체성과 팀 내 갈등에 미치는 긍정과 부정의 영향을 살펴보고, 이들 긍부정의 영향관계에서 포용적 조직 분위기가 조절역할을 하는지 살펴보는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 선행연구 검토를 통해 4개의 가설을 개발하고 개발된 가설은 단순 회귀분석과 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 검증하였다. 분석결과 가치 유사성은 팀 정제성에 정(+)의 영향, 그리고 팀 내 갈등에는 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 포용적 조직 분위기가 조절역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 실증 분석결과를 바탕으로 실무적 시사점과 연구의 한계점 및 미래 연구 방향 등을 제시하였다.

Climate Factors and Their Effects on the Prevalence of Rhinovirus Infection in Cheonan, Korea

  • The use of big data may facilitate the recognition and interpretation of causal relationships between disease occurrence and climatic variables. Considering the immense contribution of rhinoviruses in causing respiratory infections, in this study, we examined the effects of various climatic variables on the seasonal epidemiology of rhinovirus infections in the temperate climate of Cheonan, Korea. Trends in rhinovirus detection were analyzed based on 9,010 tests performed between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2018, at Dankook University Hospital, Cheonan, Korea. Seasonal patterns of rhinovirus detection frequency were compared with the local climatic variables for the same period. Rhinovirus infection was the highest in children under 10 years of age, and climatic variables influenced the infection rate. Temperature, wind chill temperature, humidity, and particulate matter significantly affected rhinovirus detection. Temperature and wind chill temperature were higher on days on which rhinovirus infection was detected than on which it was not. Conversely, particulate matter was lower on days on which rhinovirus was detected. Atmospheric pressure and particulate matter showed a negative relationship with rhinovirus detection, whereas temperature, wind chill temperature, and humidity showed a positive relationship. Rhinovirus infection was significantly related to climatic factors such as temperature, wind chill temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity, and particulate matter. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to find a relationship between daily temperatures/wind chill temperatures and rhinovirus infection over an extended period.

지구기후모형 기온변화에 따른 미래 하천생태환경에서의 수온 예측 (Prediction of Climate-induced Water Temperature using Nonlinear Air-water Temperature Relationship for Aquatic Environments)

  • To project the effects of climate-induced change on aquatic environments, it is necessary to determine the thermal constraints affecting different fish species and to acquire time series of the current and projected water temperature (WT). Assuming that a nonlinear regression between the WT at individual stations and the ambient air temperature (AT) at nearby weather stations could represent the best relationship of air-water temperature, This study estimates future WT using a general circulation model (GCM). In addition, assuming that the grid-averaged observations of AT correspond to the AT output from GCM simulation, this study constructed a regression curve between the observations of the local WT and the concurrent GCM-simulated surface AT. Because of its low spatial resolution, downscaling is unavoidable. The projected WT under global warming scenario A2 (B2) shows an increase of about $1.6^{\circ}C$ ($0.9^{\circ}C$) for the period 2080-2100. The maximum/minimum WT shows an amount of change similar to that of the mean values. This study will provide guidelines for decision-makers and engineers in climate-induced river environment and ecosystem management.
