Third, as for communication toward mother according to the subjects' reaction to the mother figure, female students show difference in ommission of facial parts, ommission of body parts, balance of body parts, facial expression and negative symbols. Forth, according to the female students' reaction to the self figure, they show different levels of communication toward father and self in regard of facial expression and distance between the figures. On the other hand, they show different levels of communication toward mother with respect to ommission of facial parts, ommission of body parts, balance of body parts, facial expression and distance between the figures. • This paper examined the effects of children's interests and attitudes toward mother's native culture and use of mother's native language on satisfaction of the mother-child relationship in multi-cultural families. Data from the 2012 National Survey of Multi-cultural Families demonstrate that for children aged between 9 and 12 years, their fluency and desire to speak well in the mother's native language as well as father's encouragement for using the mother's native language at home were positively associated with satisfaction of the mother-child relationship. For those aged between 13 and 18 years, mother's nationality (i.e. Southeast or South Asia) was negatively related with mother-child relationship satisfaction. Both mother's and children' communication skills, children's interests in mother's native culture, pride for mother being a foreigner, and desire to speak well in the mother's native language were positively associated with mother-child relationship satisfaction. Therefore, there is a need for foreign wives to be educated in Korean language and culture as well as opportunities for children to learn their mother's native culture and language.

Ami Children's perception of their Darents' child rearing attitudes measured by Parent-Child Relationship Inventory which was constructed in Korean Testing Center. For the data analysis, t-test and two-way analysis of variance were applied and Pearson correlation coefficient was computed. The results of the present study were as follows; 1. The correlations between children's perception of their parents' child rearing attitudes and locus of control in children were significant partly. Especially, internal children reported their parents as showing less rejective attitude and less different child rearing attitude between father and mother. 2, Sons were more influenced by their parents' child Learing attitudes than daughters in the development of locus of control 3.

  • This study investigated the impact of solution-focused thinking on marital satisfaction via mediating roles of father involvement in childcare and marital conflict. A questionnaire survey was conducted among mothers with infants, living in Busan, Daegu and Yangsan, South Korea. Data from 264 mothers were analyzed using several multiple regression analyses and bootstrapping method with SPSS 25.0 and PROCESS macro (model 6) to test the serial double mediation model. The results of this study are as follows. First, mothers' solution-focused thinking had a significant direct and indirect positive influence on marital satisfaction through both father involvement in childcare and marital conflict. Second, the sequential mediating effects of father involvement in childcare and marital conflict were statistically significant in the relationship between solution-focused thinking and marital satisfaction. The model accounted for 60% of the variance in mothers' marital satisfaction. The results highlight the importance of solution-focused thinking that can enhance the marital satisfaction of mothers with infants and act as a resource for increasing father involvement in childcare and decreasing marital conflict. Based on the results, it is necessary to include solution-focused thinking, father involvement in childcare, and marital conflict as key elements in the intervention to improve marital satisfaction of mothers with infants.
