Wire recognition is one of the important tasks in chip reverse engineering since connectivity comes from wires. Recognized wires are used to recover logical or functional representation of the corresponding circuit. Though manual recognition provides accurate results, it becomes impossible, as the number of wires is more than hundreds of thousands. Wires on a chip usually have specific intensity or color characteristics since they are made of specific materials. This paper proposes two stage wire recognition scheme; image binarization and then the process of determining whether regions in binary image are wires or not. We employ existing techniques for two processes. Since the second process requires the characteristics of wires, the users needs to select the typical wire region in the given image. The histogram characteristic of the selected region is used in calculating histogram similarity between the typical wire region and the other regions. The first experiment is to select the most appropriate binarization scheme for the second process. The second experiment on the second process compares three proposed methods employing histogram similarity of grayscale or HSV color since there have not been proposed any wire recognition method comparable by experiment. The best method shows more than 98% of true positive rate for 25 test examples.
Fault materials has various properties depending on their areas, rock types, and components because they are formed by heterogeneous and complicated mechanisms. In this study, to understand the physical and mechanical properties of fault materials, 109 fault materials distributed in South Korea were collected to conduct various laboratory tests with them and analyze their physical and mechanical properties (unit weight, specific gravity, porosity, gravel content, silt/clay content, clay mineral content, friction angle, and cohesion) according to areas, rock types, and components. As for the physical and mechanical properties by rock type, gneiss shows the highest medians in the unit weight ($17.1kN/m^3$) and specific gravity (2.73), granite does so in the porosity (45.5%), schist does so in the gravel content (20.0 wt.%) and cohesion (38.1 kPa), and phyllite does so in the silt/clay content (54.4 wt.%), clay mineral content (30.1 wt.%), and friction angle ($38.2^{\circ}$). With regard to the physical and mechanical properties by component, fault gouge was shown to have lower values than cataclasite and damage zones in all factors other than porosity and silt/clay contents.
Dredging is inevitably necessary for the management of water infrastructure such as waterways and polluted bottom sediment. Dredged material management options may be offshore dumping, wetland creation, beach nourishment and various other engineering uses depending on the given circumstances at the time of dredging. Among those options, wetland creation and beach nourishment are the preferred ones in Korea considering significant loss of wetland and beach erosion due to various development projects along the coastal region. In order to use dredged material beneficially, however, dredged material needs to be assessed its suitability with respect to its engineering purpose and environmental criteria. In this paper, we demonstrate that environmental risk of dredged material to be introduced into the marine environment can be easily assessed using biomarkers with relative low cost. Biomarkers can also compliment pollutant contents analysis that may not be specific to their impact on biological response. Biomarker information may be used to assist decision making process in selecting suitable treatment or beneficial use options for dredged materials.
PURPOSES : One of the main components of road projects funded by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) is the improvement or rehabilitation of existing pavements. The result is that pavement structures are critical to the success of a project. There is, however, no design standard available at present that reflects a region's specific features including climate conditions and quality of pavement materials. For this reason, a comparative study of the major EDCF borrowers' flexible pavement design standards was conducted. This study led to the proposal of a new method for applying flexible pavement designs which can be used for EDCF-funded projects in Asia. METHODS : The method has been produced by adjusting some input data of the "AASHTO Interim Guide for Design of Pavement Structures" in accordance with certain Asian countries' geometrical features, tropical and subtropical weather, and strength of pavement materials. The Philippine regional factors, having five different grades, have been selected after taking into consideration the amount of rainfall, strength of pavement materials, and characteristics of the Asia and Pacific regions. Structural layer coefficients have been prepared for two different regions according to the geometric difference between Southeast and Southwest Asia. The Philippine and Sri Lankan coefficients have been used for Southeast Asia and Southwest Asia, respectively. CONCLUSIONS : Owing to applying this new method, it was verified that the thickness of the pavement was underestimated by between 11 cm and 16 cm compared with the originally designed thickness. Having discovered that the use of the Korean and American-oriented factors and coefficients is not appropriate for other Asian countries, the new method is expected to enhance the quality of pavement in future projects.

In order to develop a sensitive and reliable method for the species-specific molecular markers, PCR-RFLP assay of the mitochondrial DNA(mt DNA) 12S rRNA gene was exploited for the identification of the origin of animal meat species including cattle, pig, sheep, goat, horse, deer, chicken, duck and turkey. A specific primer pairs were designed, based on the nucleotide sequences of mt 12S rRNA gene, for the amplification of the highly conserved region in the gene of the animal species using PCR-RFLP technique. mt DNA was isolated from meat samples followed by DNA amplification using PCR with the specific primers. PCR amplification produced an approximately 455 bp fragment in each of these animal meats. To distinguish pleat species, the PCR amplicons were digested with restriction endonucleases Tsp5091 and MboI, respectively, which generates distinct RFLP profiles. The DNA profiles digested with Tsp5091 allowed the clear discrimination in the mammalian meat species and the DNA profiles digested with MboI in poultry meat species. Therefore, the PCR-RFLP profiles of mt 12S rRNA gene could be very useful to identify the origin of the raw materials in the raw meats as well as the processed meat products.
The possibility of non-destructive inspection glass beads for verification. Conduct a comparative analysis of the Chungcheong area with glass beads excavated Age-specific characteristics of the glass beads shall be classified by region. Trace amounts of ingredients such as CaO, $Al_2O_3$ (stabilizer), MgO, the difference is negligible. $SiO_2$ (subjects), $Na_2O$ (flux) analysis and the difference between the values was greater than in the other ingredients. Composition differences occurred rough surface to a non-uniform cross-section analysis is considered. Minimize the error value, such as the surface of carbon-coated Study, there are additional requirements. Produced at the time of the social and cultural characteristics of ancient glass and important archaeological materials, and to inform the process of cultural exchange between each region in the production of glass technology era according to the level of science and technology, arts and crafts, can be identified.

Purpose: This study was performed to obtain a quantitative evaluation of the cortical and cancellous bone graft harvestable from the mental and canine regions, and to evaluate the cortical vestibular thickness. Materials and Methods: This study collected cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) images of 100 Italian patients. The limits of the mental region were established: 5 mm in front of the medial margin of each mental foramen, 5 mm under the apex of each tooth present, and above the inferior mandibular cortex. Cortical and cancellous bone volumes were evaluated using SimPlant software (SimPlant 3-D Pro, Materialize, Leuven, Belgium) tools. In addition, the cortical vestibular thickness (minimal and maximal values) was evaluated in 3 cross-sections corresponding to the right canine tooth (3R), the median section (M), and the left canine tooth (3L). Results: The cortical volume was $0.71{\pm}0.23mL$ (0.27-1.96 mL) and the cancellous volume was $2.16{\pm}0.76mL$ (0.86-6.28 mL). The minimal cortical vestibular thickness was $1.54{\pm}0.41mm$ (0.61-3.25 mm), and the maximal cortical vestibular thickness was $3.14{\pm}0.75mm$ (1.01-5.83 mm). Conclusion: The use of the imaging software allowed a patient-specific assessment of mental and canine region bone availability. The proposed evaluation method might help the surgeon in the selection of the donor site by the comparison between bone availability in the donor site and the reconstructive exigency of the recipient site.

Background: There is a close relationship between Helicobacter pylori (H pylori)-specific factors and different gastroduodenal diseases. The present study aimed to investigate the prevalence of vacA d1, d2 genotypes in the H pylori isolates from patients with gastric adenocarcinoma, peptic ulcer disease (PUD) and gastritis in East Azerbaijan region, where the incidence of gastric cancer (GC) is high. Strains isolated from this area are likely to be of European ancestry. Materials and Methods: In this study, genotyping of the vacA d region of 115 isolates obtained from patients with different gastrodoudenal diseases was accomplished by PCR methods. In addition to PCR amplification of H pylori 16S rDNA, rapid urease tests or histological examination were used to confirm the presence of H pylori in biopsy specimens. Data were collected and analyzed using SPSS version 19. Results: Of the total of 83 H pylori isolates, 36 (43.4%) contained the d1 allele and 47 (56.6%) were subtype d2. The results of the multiple linear/logistic regression analysis showed high correlation between allele d1 and gastric adenocarcinoma or PUD. Conclusions: This study suggests that the H pylori vacA d1 genotype helps predict risk for gastric adenocarcinoma and PUD in East Azerbaijan, Iran.
Background: In Aotearoa/New Zealand cervical screening programmes have reduced cervical cancer; however, half of cervical cancer cases among Pacific women are found among clients who had not attended cervical screening. Hence, we set out to determine health provider perspectives on barriers that prevent their services reaching Pacific women within Aotearoa/New Zealand. Materials and Methods: Twenty semi-structured interviews were conducted with health care providers, Pap smear takers and community workers in the Wellington region. Participants were asked their views on factors that enabled and/or constrained the participation of Pacific women in their cervical screening services. Results: Six interrelated themes influencing participation in cervical screening among Pacific women in the Wellington region were apparent: the funding and practice of service delivery; family always coming first; the cost of screening services; type of employment; the appropriateness of information; and attitudes to self and screening. Conclusions: Determining specific ethnic group actual health needs and meeting them contributes to overall improvement in New Zealand's health status. The results identified the need for improvements to the delivery of screening services including adapting cervical screening services to the requirements of Pacific women through more outreach services at alternate clinic hours; culturally appropriate practitioners; the ability to take up opportunities for health checks and foster long-term relationships; as well as appropriate monitoring and evaluation of approaches. Funding and reporting relationships also need to be compatible with the goal of improving outcomes for Pacific women. Further research into client voices for their particular needs to compliment the service provider perspective as well as minority groups is called for.

This study carefully selected weather and plantation-related records from Sinjeung "Donggukyeojiseungram"("新增東國輿地勝覽") and "Taekliji"("擇里志") and examined their climate and vegetational significance as research ancient Korean documents. Both documents include several counts of detailed descriptions of and the interest in the natural environment and ecology shown by the residents of the region in the 14th and 15th centuries and the 18th century. Utilizing these records is believe to understand and restore the meteorological environment, regional climate characteristics, climate in mountainous regions, temperature and precipitative distribution, and vegetation of the south coastal region and the southern, central and northern regions of those times. Such prospect, this author hopes, will spark specific discussion of research methodology of ecological landscape and physical geography based on ancient Korean documents.
