In this paper, a numerical model to analyze the performance of a vertical slit-type wave absorber is developed under the assumption of inviscid water waves. The formulation combines the linear potential theory with a semi-empirical description of the eddy-shedding at a slit-type wave absorber. We investigated the reflection coefficients over a wide frequency range for a vertical slit-type wave absorber both with and without a solid rear wall. Model test was conducted at KRISO' s two dimensional wave tank to validate the theoretical results. It is found that the agreement between theoretical results and experimental data is surprisingly good. We found that the wave absorbing system using a vertical slit plate has sufficient potentials for breakwaters for ocean development.
This paper describes the AR model of EMG signal during maximum voluntary contraction. By comparing the AR coefficients and the reflection coefficients of the AR model with the median frequency of power spectrum, it if proved that muscle fatigue can be measured by the AR and the reflection coefficients. In the estimation procedure of AR model parameter, the auto-correlation method is superior to the covariance method, and it is determined that the optimal order is six. As the muscle becomes fatigue, the median frequency of power spectrum is declined, and the AR coefficient [$a_1$ ] and the reflection coefficient [$k_1$ ] are also decreased. Therefore the muscle fatigue can be measured by the AR parameter.

This paper proposes a propagation prediction model which can calculate a propagation path loss easily at option point in case of the propagation processing by repeat reflection when we analysis a propagation route, it makes the calculation speed which is the defect of a geometrical of image method and a ray-launching method improve and we develop and apply the algorithms which can do an angle of incidence, an angle of reflection with a propagation direct path, a reflection path and a maximum reflection number arithmetic process synchronously. Finally we choose as a sample which is the real road condition where is around SK telecoms chunnam branch office in wolgok-dong, kwangsan-ku, kwangju and simulate proposition model then we demonstrate the relative superiority with comparing the results.
Invasive blood pressure (IBP) is measured for the patient's real time arterial pressure (ABP) to monitor the critical abrupt disorders of the cardiovascular system. It can be used for the estimation of cardiac output and the opening and closing time detection of the aortic valve. Although the unexplained inflections on ABP make it difficult to find the mathematical relations with other cardiovascular parameters, the estimations based on ABP for other data have been accepted as useful methods as they had been verified with the statistical results among vast patient data. Previous windkessel models were composed with systemic resistance and vascular compliance and they were successful at explaining the average systolic and diastolic values of ABP simply. Although it is well-known that the blood pressure reflection from peripheral arteries causes complex inflection on ABP, previous models do not contain any elements of the reflections because of the complexity of peripheral arteries' shapes. In this study, to simulate a reflection wave of blood pressure, a new mathematical model was designed with four elements that were the impedance of aorta, the compliance of aortic arch, the peripheral resistance, and the compliance of peripheral arteries. The parameters of the new model were adjusted to have three types of arterial blood pressure waveform that were measured from a patient. It was used to find the relations between the inflections and other cardiovascular parameters such as the opening-closing time of aortic valve and the cardiac output. It showed that the blood pressure reflection can bring wide range errors to the closing time of aortic valve and cardiac output with the conventional estimation based on ABP and that the changes of one-stroke volumes can be easily detected with previous estimation while the changes of heart rate can bring some error caused by unexpected reflections.

For Sound source direction and separation method, Frequency Domain Binaural Model(FDBM) shows low computational cost and high performance for sound source separation. This method performs sound source orientation and separation by obtaining the Interaural Phase Difference(IPD) and Interaural Level Difference(ILD) in frequency domain. But the problem of reflection occurs in practical environment. To reduce this reflection, a method to simulate the sound localization of a direct sound, to detect the initial arriving sound, to check the direction of the sound, and to separate the sound is presented. Simulation results show that the direction is estimated to lie close within 10% from the sound source and, in the presence of the reflection, the level of the separation of the sound source is improved by higher Coherence and PESQ(Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality) and by lower directional damping than those of the existing FDBM. In case of no reflection, the degree of separation was low.
Metallic paint is one of the most widely used coating in automotive, cosmetic and other applications because of its well-known ability to give a product realistic look which creates widespread consumer appeal. But, this coating has complicated subsurface structure which includes pigments, flakes, and transparent clearcoat. Though various analytic reflection models are available to simulate appearance of various surfaces, it is difficult to select an appropriate reflection model with faithful parameters for simulating this coating due to the complex subsurface structure of metallic paints. This paper presents a framework for accurate modeling of metallic coating by determining an appropriate reflection model among various existing BRDF (Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function) models. The selection of the appropriate model is achieved by measuring BRDF of various metallic paint samples using a BRDF measuring device i.e. gonioreflectometer and fitting an existing model to the measured data. Then, this model is effectively realized by rendering metallic painted surfaces. We believe that this framework can serve as a guide for those who wants to render metallic painted surfaces accurately with analytic BRDF model without expending time on extracting BRDF data using gonioreflectometer from real metallic paint sample.
High-frequency(40∼120 kHz) reflection loss measurements on the water-sandy sediment with a flat interface were conducted in a water tank for various grazing angles. The water tank(5×5×5 m) was filled with a 0.5 m-thick-flat bottom of 0.5ø-mean-grain-size sand. Reflection losses, which were experimentally obtained as a function of grazing angle and frequency, were compared with the forward loss model, APL-UW model (Mourad & Jackson, 1989). For frequencies below 60 kHz, the observed losses well agree with the reflection loss model, however, in cases for frequencies above 70 kHz, the observed losses are greater by 2∼3 dB than the model results. The model calculation, which does not fully account for the vertical scale of roughness due to grain size, produce less bottom losses compared to the observations that correspond to large roughness based on the Rayleigh parameter in the wave scattering theory. In conclusion, for the same grain-size-sediment, as frequencies increase, the grainsize becomes the scale of roughness that could be very large for the frequencies above 70 kHz. Therefore, although the sea bottom was flat, we have to consider the frequency dependence of an effect of roughness within confidential interval of grain size distribution in reflection loss model.

This study aimed to analyze the subjects, situations, and reflection levels related to role modeling experienced by medical students during their clinical clerkship and their own reflections. This study intends to suggest ways of improving how residents and clinical faculty should treat and teach medical students. Written interviews were conducted regarding senior medical students' role modeling experiences during their clinical clerkships in 2018 and 2019. Content analysis was conducted for a total of 224 cases from 196 students. Content analysis revealed three types of role modeling content: subjects (faculty, residents, nurses, peer students), situations (clinical competence, personal qualities, teaching skills), and the level of reflection (critical reflection, reflection, thoughtful action, and habitual action) in each case. As role model subjects, faculty were found to be the paramount role model (n=142, 62.83%). Role modeling was the most frequently performed for clinical competence (n=103, 45.98%). Clinical competence was frequently shown in communication and empathic listening during rounds and outpatient relationships between the patient and doctor. Regarding the level of reflection for role modeling, the number of critical reflections was 86 (38.39%) and that of reflections was 80 (35.71%). In particular, negative role modeling showed a high level of critical reflection in relation to faculty (64.44%) and nurses (8.89%). In conclusion, role modeling of medical students participating in clinical clerkships occurs in situations that the role models are not aware of, with positive or negative effects on the formation of professional identity among medical students.
In recent years Jin-Beach and Hyeya River mouth have experienced severe erosion phenomena. The cause of erosion is examined using a 3-dimensional nunumerical sediment transport model. The model is composed of three components : wave model, wave-induced current model and 3-dimensional sediment transport model. In the wave analysis component we consider refraction, diffraction and reflection based on Maruyama and Kajima method. For the wave-induced current model we use depth-integrated continuty equation and momentum equations. For the 3-dimensional sediment transport model we consider bed load and suspended load simutaneously. Model results obtained for Jin-ha Beach and Hyeya River mouth agreed well with experimental results.

The Suh and Park's analytical model. originally developed to calculate wave reflection from a conventional fully perforated caisson breakwater, is applied to a partially perforated caisson breakwater by approximating the vertical wall of the lower part of the front face of the caisson as a very steep sloping wall. Also, in the model, the inertial resistance term at the perforated wall is modified by using the blockage coefficient proposed by Kakuno and Liu. The model is compared against the hydraulic experimental data reported by Park et al. in 1993. Both the experimental data and the analytical model results show that the influence of inertial resistance is important so that wave reflection becomes minimum when B/L. is approximately 0.2 (in which R : wave chamber width, and 1, : wave length inside the wave chamber), which is somewhat smaller than the theoretical value B/L, : 0.25 obtained by assuming that the influence of inertial resistance is negligible. It is also shown that the analytical model based on a linear wave theory tends to overpredict the reflection coefficient as the wave nonlinearity increases, thus the model is preferably to be used for ordinary waves of small steepness.
