Reed Switch 센서를 이용한 원격 검침용 상수도 계량기에서 Chattering 오차 감소 방안 연구 (Reduction Chattering Error of Reed Switch Sensor for Remote Measurement of Water Meter)

  • To reduce the chattering errors of reed switch sensors used for automatic remote measurement of water supply system, a reed switch sensor was analyzed and improved. The operation of reed switch sensors can be described as a mechanical contact by approximation of permanent magnet piece to generate an electrical pulse. The reed switch sensors are used in measurement application by detecting the rotational or translational displacement. To apply for flow measurement devices, the reed switch sensors should keep high reliability. They are applied for the electronic digital type of water flow meters. The reed switch sensor is just installed simply on the mechanical type flow meter. A small magnet is attached on a pointer of the water meter counter rotor. Inside the reed sensor, two steel leaf springs make mechanical contact and apart as rotation of flow meter counter. The counting electrical contact pulses can be converted as the water flow amount. The MCU sends the digital flow rate data to the server using the wireless communication network. But it occurs data difference or errors by chattering noise. The reed switch sensor contains chattering error by it self at the force equivalent position. The vibrations such as passing car near to the switch sensor installed location. In order to reduce chattering error, most system uses just software methods for example using filter and also statistical calibration methods. The chattering errors were reduced by changing leaf spring structure using mechanical hysteresis characteristics.

  • 상수도 원격 검침에서는 리드 스위치의 채터링 오차를 감소시키기 위한 센서 연구 및 개선이 필요하다. 센서의 동작은 전기적 펄스를 발생시키기 위한 영구 자석 주각의 접근에 의한 기계적 접촉스위치처럼 나타낼 수 있다. 대부분 회전 또는 전달 이동을 잡기 위해 사용되고 수류 측정 장치에 적용하기 위해서는 높은 신뢰성이 필수이다. 동작 형태를 간단히 설명하게 되면 미터기 작동 모터 끝에 달려있는 작은 자석이 미터기 회전에 의해 리드 스위치 내부에 있는 두 개의 스프링과 기계적 접촉 형식으로 반복적으로 떨어지게 된다. 즉 수류량에 따라 펄스의 수가 증가하는 것이다. 이렇게 측정된 값은 무선 이동 통신을 통해 서버로 전달되게 된다. 문제는 자석과 리드 스위치가 만나는 지점에서 스위치가 멈추게 되면 떨리면서 펄스가 잘못 올라가는 오차가 생기는 것이다. 이러한 오차를 감소시키기 위해 보통 소프트웨어적인 방법을 사용한다. 필터 알고리듬을 사용하는것과 통계적인 보정방법을 사용하는 것이 그러한 예이다. 하지만 그러한 방법보다는 하드웨어적으로 문제를 해결하는 것이 오차를 줄일 수 있는 더 직접적인 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 기계적인 이력현상의 특성을 이용하여 리프 스프링 구조의 변화로 오차를 감소시키는 연구를 수행하였다.

  • The reliability and accuracy of the information on control rod position are very important to the reactor safety and the design of the core protection system. In this study, a thorough investigation on the RSPT(Reed Switch Position Transmitter) type control rod position indication system and its actual implementation in the exiting nuclear power plants in Korea was performed first. A design of the control rod position indication system using reed switch for the CEDM on the system-integrated reactor SMART was developed based on the position indicator technology identified through the investigation. The feasibility of the design was evaluated by test of manufactured control rod position indicator using reed switch for SMART.

  • The reliability and accuracy of the information on control rod position are very important to the reactor safety and the design of the core protection system. A survey on the RSPT(Reed Switch Position Transmitter) type control rod position indicator system and its actual implementation in the existing nuclear power plants in Korea was performed first. The control rod position indicator having the high performance for SMART was developed on the basis of RSPT technology identified through the survey. The arrangement of permanent magnet and reed switches is the most important procedure in the design of control rod position indicator. The hysteresis of reed switches is one of the important factors in a repeat accuracy of control rod position indicator as well. This paper investigates efficiency of the magnetic flux concentrator and the hysteresis using FEM and verified differences in physicals characteristics by comparing the results of FEM and those of the experiment. As a result, it is shown that the characteristics of prototype control rod position indicator have a good agreement with the results of FEM.

  • 원자력발전소의 원자로에는 노심 반응 속도를 제어하기 위하여 제어봉구동장치가 사용된다. 한국원자력연구원의 SMART 원자로는 원자로 가동 중 제어봉집합체의 위치를 확인하기 위하여 제어봉구동장치에 영구자석과 리드스위치로 구성되는 위치지시기가 설치된다. 원자로 가동 온도는 최대 $350^{\circ}C$로 고려되어 설계되며, 영구자석은 원자로 내에 설치된다. 반면에 리드스위치와 전기회로는 원자로 외부에 설치된다. Test coil은 리드스위치의 품질 검증을 위한 장비로서, 코일과 철심으로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구는 리드스위치에 미치는 Test coil과 영구자석의 자기 특성을 비교하고자 수행되었으며, 유한요소 전자기 시뮬레이션을 활용하였다.

  • Nowadays the diversity and large-capacity of electric appliances are strong effect on electrical fires augment in an alarming way. But, as the inactive response characteristics of the existing RCD (Residual Current protective Device) used on low voltage power distribution lines, so control of overload and electric short circuit faults, major causes of electrical fires, are not enough. Therefore this paper is confirmed the unreliability of the existing RCD by electrical faults simulation and is proposed a auxiliary trip device of RCD by using a high precision current sensor (namely, reed switch) for the prevention of electrical disasters in low voltage power distribution lines caused by overload or electric short circuit faults. The sensitive reed switch in the proposed ATD (auxiliary trip device) exactly detects the increased magnetic flux with the overload or the short current caused by a number of electrical faults, and then rapidly cuts off the existing RCD. The proposed auxiliary trip device of RCD is confirmed the excellent characteristics in response velocity and accuracy in comparison with the conventional circuit breaker through various operation performance analysis. The proposed ATD can also prevent electrical disaster, like as electrical fires, which resulted from the malfunction and inactive response characteristics of the existing RCD.

  • This paper is studied on a protective control system for electrical fire and electrical faults due to over current or electric short circuit faults by using electrical thermal characteristics of PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) thermistor and current response characteristics of high sensitive reed switch. The PTC thermistor has characteristic of positive resistivity temperature coefficient according to the temperature variation, which is construction of a regular square and cube demarcation with BaTiO3_Ceramics of positive temperature coefficient. Also PTC thermistor shows the phenomenon which is rapidly increased in the resistivity if the temperature is increased over Curie temperature point, and reed switch, which is used for electrical fault current sensing devices, have a excellent characteristic of response velocity in degree of ${\mu}s{\sim}ms$ that sensing magnetic flux in proportion to dimension of line current. This paper is proposed on a protective control system use PTC thermistor and reed switch for sensor which is protected from electrical fire due to overload faults or electric short circuit faults. Some experimental results of the proposed electric safety control device are confirmed to the validity of the analytical results.

  • The reed switch position transmitter (RSPT) is used as a position indicator for the control rod in commercial nuclear power plants made by ABB-CE. But this position indicator has some problems when directly adopting it to the integral reactor. The Control Element Drive Mechanism (CEDM) for the integral reactor is designed to raise and lower the control rod in steps of 2mm in order to satisfy the design features of the integral reactor which are the soluble boron free operation and the use of a nuclear heating for the reactor start-up. Therefore the resolution of the position indicator for the integral reactor should be achieved to sense the position of the control rod more precisely than that of the RSPT of the ABB-CE. This paper adopts seismic resistance reed switches to the position indicator in order to reduce the damages or impacts during the handling of the position indicator and earthquake.

  • Before the Flap type GATE is introduced until, the Turnstile type GATE was plentifully used. The Turnstile type GATE is used plentifully from the Seoul metro, Busan Transportation Corporation and Korea Railroad Corporation. From the Turnstile type GATE, the micro switch breakdown is occurred by the contact of the micro switch which perceives a Turnstile rotation and the cam. The breakdown is cause of the passenger inconveniently. In order to prevent the breakdown which is caused by Micro switch contact, Microswitch support used the sensor in Turnstile rotation perception.   • For the measurement of liquid level in ship's cargo tank, ballast tank, fuel oil tank and fresh water tank, several types of gauge meter are used such as tubular type, magnetic float type, reflex type transparent type and welding pad type. Among them, magnetic float type gauge meter is environmental friendly device because it is free of power source and maintenance. The main obstacle of the device is relatively large error bound. In this paper, finite element method is used to design and analysis of the magnetic float type gauge meter. The operation of reed switch according to the magnetic field has been successfully described and agreed well with experimental measurement. The optimum geometry with combination of permanent magnet and reed switches are designed to achieve 98 % accuracy of fluid level.
