In order to improve the washing fastness of dyed polyester artificial suede fabric, it was dyed by using auto and anthraguinone type disperse dyes and treated with 3 different reduction clearing methods. The reduction clearing methods used in this study were normal alkaline reduction clearing, $N_2$ gas replacement method, and ultrasonic treatment during normal reduction clearing. The results were as followings ; The washing fastness property of dyed polyester artificial suede fabric was slightly improved by reduction clearing with $N_2$ gas replacement or with ultrasonic treatment comparing with normal alkaline reduction clearing. It was found that the use of $N_2$ gas replacement or ultrasonic treatment during reduction clearing eave effective removal of unfixed dyes on the fiber surface. We also obtained that the azo type disperse dye on polyester artificial fabric suede fabric showed higher wash fastness than anthraquinone type disperse dye.
Generally, polyester microfiber has much greater dye uptake than that of regular ones. In spite of high dye up-take visual shade depth of dyed fabric decreases with smaller denier, which results in poor washing fastness of dyed fabric. In this study, in order to investigate the washing fastness, polyester microfiber fabric was dyed by using two type of disperse dyes and treated with 3 different reduction clearing methods. The reduction clearing methods in this study are normal alkaline reduction clearing, $N_2$ gas replacement method, and ultrasonic treatment during reduction clearing. The results were as followings ; The most important factors affecting the washing fastness of polyester artificial suede fabric were found to be the reduction clearing method, the chemical structure of used disperse dyes and the structure and denier of fibers. It was also obtained that the heat treatment of dyed fabric decreased the washing fastness due to the dye migration from inner phase to surface.
Polyester microfiber has usually greater dye uptake than normal denier polyester fiber in same dyeing condition. In spite of this high dye uptake dyed microfiber fabric has not only low visual colour depth but also poor washing fastness property. In order to study high colouring dyeing technology and high washing fastness of polyester microfiber, dyeing property of polyester microfiber was investigated according to the dye solubility and particle size of used disperse dyes in aqueous dye solution. After disperse dyeing, dyed fabric with disperse dye was redyed with a vat dye without reduction clearing in order to obtain a high washing fastness property. The result were as followings ; A small particle sized disperse dyes such as C. I. Disperse Blue 56 and Red 60 showed high rate of initial exhaution compared with a large particle sized disperse dyes like C. I. Disperse Blue 165 and Red 343. In study of dyeing property of polyester microfiber with C. I. Vat Blue 1, polyester microfiber could achieve high dye uptake at a given optimum vatting process conditions. On the other hand, in consecutive dyeing with disperse and vat dye, K/S value of polyester microfiber with a small particle sized disperse dye increased without reduction clearings, but K/S value of polyester microfiber with a large particle sized disperse dye decreased with reduction clearings.

The objective of this article is to provide analytical tools for the scattering of stratum corneum (SC) and to check whether the optical clearing agents (OCAs) could be applied in optics affecting the scattering reduction. Dark field images of tape striped corneocyte separates scattered light of the SC from others in vitro. Several optical clearing agents were tested to reduce the scattering. Physical properties of SC such as water contents, keratin configuration and volume after OCAs treatment were investigated by FT-IR and 3D laser microscope. Several reducing sugars, monomeric sugars, sugar alcohol, and hyaluronic acid, which were used as humectants in cosmetic field, also reduced scattering. However, unlike dehydration in optics, water penetrated into the keratin in SC and scattering was decreased at low concentration of OCAs. In that condition, the volume of corneocyte was increased and stiffness seemed to decrease. The analyzing of tape-stripped SC, showed the change of optical and physical properties of corneocyte by optical clearing agents. The hydration of SC layer by optical clearing agents decreased the scattering of corneocyte and thus improved the skin appearance and moisturizing effect, which are important benefits in the cosmetic field and could provide new possibility to develop skin care study targeting at SC.
Commutation failures can deteriorate the availability of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) links and may lead to outage of the HVDC system. Most commutation failures are caused by voltage reduction due to ac system faults on inverter side. The commutation failure process can be divided into two stages. The first stage, from the occurrence to the clearing of faults, is called 'Deterioration Stage'. The second stage, from the faults clearing to restoring the power system stability, is called 'Recovery Stage'. Based on the analysis of the commutation failure process, this paper proposes a direct-current fuzzy controller including prevention and recovery controller. The prevention controller reduces the direct current to prevent Commutation failures in the 'Deterioration Stage' according to the variation of ac voltage. The recovery controller magnifies the direct current to speed up the recovery of power system in the 'Recovery Stage', based on the recovery of direct voltage. The validity of this proposed fuzzy controller is further proved by simulation with CIGRE HVDC benchmark model in PSCAD/EMTDC. The results show the commutation failures can be mitigated by the proposed direct-current fuzzy controller.
Various methods have been proposed for enhancing the contrast of laser speckle contrast image (LSCI) in subcutaneous blood flow measurements. However, the LSCI still suffers from low image contrast due to tissue turbidity. Herein, a physicochemical tissue optical clearing (PCTOC) method was employed to enhance the contrast of LSCI. Ex vivo and in vivo experiments were performed with porcine skin samples and male ICR mice, respectively. The ex vivo LSCIs were obtained before and 90 min after the application of the PCTOC and in vivo LSCIs were obtained for 60 min after the application of the PCTOC. In order to obtain the skin recovery images, saline was applied for 30 min after the application of the PCTOC was completed. The visible appearance of the tubing under ex vivo samples and the in vivo vasculature gradually enhanced over time. The LSCI increased as a function of time after the application of the PCTOC in both ex vivo and in vivo experiments, and properly recovered to initial conditions after the application of saline in the in vivo experiment. The LSCI combined with the PCTOC was greatly enhanced even in deep vasculature. It is expected that similar results will be obtained in in vivo human studies.

Explicit numerical integration methods for power system transient stability simulation require very small time steps to avoid numerical instability. The EXST1 exciter model is a primary source of fast dynamics in power system transients. In case of the EXST1, the required small integration time step for entire system simulation increases the computational demands in terms of running time and storage. This paper presents a practical exciter model reduction approach which allows the increase of the required step size and thus the method can decrease the computational demands. The fast dynamics in the original EXST1 are eliminated in the reduced exciter model. The use of a larger time step improves the computational efficiency. This paper describes the way to eliminate the fast dynamics from the original exciter model based on linear system theory. In order to validate the performance of the proposed method, case studies with the GSO-37 bus system are provided. Comparisons between the original and reduced models are made in simulation accuracy and critical clearing time.

This paper presents an application of artificial neural networks(ANN) to assess the dynamic security of power systems. The basic role of ANN is to provide assessment of the system's stability based on training samples from off-line analysi. The critical clearing time(CCT) is an attribute which provides significant information about the quality of the post-fault system behaviour. The function of ANN is a mapping of the pre-fault, fault-on, and post-fault system conditions into the CCT's. In previous work, a feed forward neural network is used to learn this mapping by using the generation outputs during the fault as the input data. However, it takes significant calculation time to make the input data through the network reduction at a fault as the input data. However, it takes significant calculation time to make the input data through the network reduction at a fault considered. In order to enhance the speed of security assessment, the bus data and line powers are used as the input data of the ANN in thil paper. Test results show that the proposed neural networks have the reasonable accuracy and can be used in on-line security assenssment efficiently.

The distributions of 3 disperse dyes with different molecular structures among polyurethane (PU) and polyester (PET) in dyeing PET-PU blend and which dye structure contaminated less PU portion were studied. The amounts of dyes left substrates after reduction clearing and washing were measured to prove which dye structure had an effect on improving washing fastness. Disperse dye with high molecular weight showed similar distribution onto PU and polyester by dying both substrates with similar rate and less contamination to polyurethane while other dyes distributed to PU faster than to PET had.
