Electrochemical surface treatment is commonly used to form a thin, rough, and porous oxidation layer on the surface of titanium. The purpose of this study was to investigate the formation of nanotubular titanium oxide arrays during short anodization processing. The specimen used in this study was 99.9% pure cp-Ti (ASTM Grade II) in the form of a disc with diameter of 15 mm and a thickness of 1 mm. A DC power supplier was used with the anodizing apparatus, and the titanium specimen and the platinum plate ($3mm{\times}4mm{\times}0.1mm$) were connected to an anode and cathode, respectively. The progressive formation of $TiO_2$ nanotubes was observed with FE-SEM (Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy). Highly ordered $TiO_2$ nanotubes were formed at a potential of 20 V in a solution of 1M $H_3PO_4$ + 1.5 wt.% HF for 10 minutes, corresponding with steady state processing. The diameters and the closed ends of $TiO_2$ nanotubes measured at a value of 50 cumulative percent were 100 nm and 120 nm, respectively. The $TiO_2$ nanotubes had lengths of 500 nm. As the anodization processing reached 10 minutes, the frequency distribution for the diameters and the closed ends of the $TiO_2$ nanotubes was gradually reduced. Short anodization processing for $TiO_2$ nanotubes of within 10 minutes was established.

ZnWO$_4$shows excellent frequency selectivity due to its high quality factor(Q${\times}$f) at microwave frequencies. However, in order to use ZnWO$_4$as multilayered wireless communication components, its other properties such as sintering temperature(105$0^{\circ}C$). $$\tau$_f$(-70ppm/$^{\circ}C$) and $$\varepsilon$_r$(15.5) should be modified. In present study, TiO$_2$and LiF were used to improve the microwave dielectric and sintering properties of ZnWO$_4$. TiO$_2$ additions to ZnWO$_4$changed $\tau$$_{f}$ from negative to positive value, and also increased $$\varepsilon$_r$, due to its high $$\tau$_f$(+400ppm$^{\circ}C$) and $$\varepsilon$_r$(100). At 20 mol% TiO$_2$ addition, $$\tau$_f$was controlled to near zero ppm/$^{\circ}C$ with $$\varepsilon$_r$=19.4 and Q${\times}$ f=50000GHz. However, the sintering temperature was 110$0^{\circ}C$. LiF addition to the ZnWO$_4$+TiO$_2$ mixture greatly reduced the sintering temperature from 110$0^{\circ}C$ to 85$0^{\circ}C$ due to liquid phase formation. Also LiF addition decreased the $$\tau$_f$value due to its high negative $$\tau$_f$ value. Therefore, by controlling the TiO$_2$and LiF amount. temperature stable LTCC(Low Temperature Cofired Ceramics) material with low loss in the ZnWO$_4$-TiO$_2$-LiF system could be fabricated.d.d.

In this paper, an efficient power control based MF-TDMA resource allocation scheme is proposed for next generation military satellite communication systems. The proposed scheme has the flexibility is used to support heterogeneous terminals with differ in transmission capabilities. The method can be divided into two parts : burst size calculation and burst structure determination. At first, we estimate the link budget taken into account a dynamic satellite link state variation. Then, applicable ACM level and burst size is chosen. In burst structure determination phase, we reorganize the burst structure in time-frequency domain by controlling limited power, bandwidth, time resources. In particular, we compensate the power spectral density among different terminals to integrate them in same transponder, Furthermore, we increase the packing efficiency by controlling the ACM level of the burst in applicable power spectral density range. Simulation results show that the method increase the spectral efficiency and burst packing efficiency. In addition, slot allocation rejection ratio is successfully reduced.

Korea had the highest accident rate among OECD countries in 2018, with 8.4 per 100,000 population, ranking 4th among 35 countries. In addition, the accident rate of traffic with children and the elderly was also high. This study reviewed the relevant literature and analyzed the traffic-accident analysis system. Customized traffic safety facilities were developed. In addition, by measuring the visibility of the traffic safety facilities by installing a test bed, this study measured the forward driving frequency and vehicle driving speed while driving. As a result of applying the "pedestrian pedestrian model" collision test model, the possibility of serious injury after installing the facility was reduced greatly to 4.6%. In this study, the visibility of traffic safety facilities and the effect of reducing the traffic speed were verified through test beds. Recognizing traffic safety facilities will reduce traffic accidents.

Recently, the intensity and frequency of floods has increasing worldwide, and flood disasters have become a big problem. Flood disasters, which account for the largest portion of disasters, are floods accompanied by typhoons and localized heavy rainfall. As a result, they cause damage of levee overtopping, in which the water level of a river rises to the levee crown. Therefore, countermeasures are essential and necessary because of the damage to the facility itself as well as to life and other property. The damage magnitude depends on the collapse of the levee. A levee that is difficult to collapse will reduce the discharge inland significantly. Accordingly, the protection of the inland slope, where the collapse of the levee is initiated, is one of the most important countermeasures In this study, revetments with various porosity and forms were suggested and hydraulic experiments were carried out for each type. The hydraulic experiments showed that the stability of a revetment in an inland slope is strongly correlated with the weight per unit area of the revetment. The relationship between the critical velocity, which is the velocity at the moment of leaving the revetment, and the weight per unit area was derived. Through this study, by applying the nature friendly revetment, which has not yet been applied to Korea, it is expected that life and property damage caused by levee overtopping during flooding can be reduced, and a nature friendly river space can be constructed.

Recently, the installation of energy storage systems (ESSs) that have a range of functions, such as power stabilization of renewable energy sources, demand control, and frequency regulation, has been increasing annually. On the other hand, since the fire accident of ESS occurred at Gochang Power Test Center in August 2017, 29 fire accidents with significant property losses have occurred, including the Gyeongsan substation and Kunsan PV power plant. Because these fire accidents of ESS are arisen regardless of the season and capacity of ESS, an analysis of the fault characteristics in ESS is required to confirm the causes of the fire accidents accurately and ensure the safety of the ESS. This paper proposes the modeling of ESS using PSCAD/EMTDC S/W to identify the fault characteristics and ensure the safety of the ESS. From the simulation results of fault characteristics based on various scenarios, it is clear that the insulation of ESS may be breakdown due to the largely occurring CMV (common mode voltage). Furthermore, the CMV between the PCS and battery can be reduced, and the insulation breakdown of ESS can be prevented if an SPD (surge protect device) is installed in the battery and PCS sides, respectively.

We performed this study to determine the effect of green tea on jejunal crypt survival, endogenous spleen colony formation, and apoptosis in jejunal crypt cells of mice irradiated with high and low dose of gammairradiation. The radioprotective effect of green tea was compared with the effect of diethyldithiocarbamate (DDC). Jejunal crypts were protected by pretreatment of green tea (p<0.01). Green tea administration before irradiation resulted in an increase of the formation of endogenous spleen colony (p<0.05). The frequency of radiation-induced apoptosis in intestinal crypt cells was also reduced by pretreatment of green tea (p<0.05). The radioprotective effect on jejunal crypts and apoptosis in the DDC treated group appeared similar to those in the green tea treated groups. Treatment with DDC showed no significant modifying effects on the formation of endogenous spleen colony. These results indicated that green tea might be a useful radioprotector, especially since it is a relatively nontoxic natural product. Further studies are needed to characterize better the promotion nature of green tea and its components.
Background: Patient-controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA), using a local anesthetic-opioid mixture, has been effectively applied after total knee replacement (TKR) surgery, which is associated with intense postoperative pain that requires postoperative analgesia for both rehabilitation and the pain itself. However, adverse opioid-related effects, such as nausea, vomiting and pruritus, are commonly encountered. It was our hypothesis that the adverse opioid-related effects could be reduced by the addition of naloxone, an opioid antagonist, to a mixture of fentanyl-ropivacaine PCEA. Methods: In 120 patients undergoing elective TKR surgery, epidural or combined spinal-epidural (CSE) anesthesia was performed and PCEA applied. In the control group (n = 65), 0.16% ropivacaine and $3{\mu}g/ml$ fentanyl ($2.4{\mu}g/ml$ for those older than 65 yrs) were administered. In the naloxone group (n = 55), naloxone ($2{\mu}g/ml$) was coadministered with the above regimen. The incidence and severity of postoperative nausea and vomiting, and the frequency of pruritus, the visual analog score (VAS) and the PCEA volume used were assessed 6 and 24 hrs after surgery. Results: The incidence of nausea and vomiting during the early postoperative period, and those of pruritus during the late postoperative period were significantly lower in the naloxone group. The VAS pain scores, the PCEA volume used and amount of rescue IV meperidine were similar in the two groups. Conclusions: A small dose of naloxone mixed with an opioid significantly reduces the incidence and severity of adverse opioid-related effects in PCEA, without reducing the analgesic effect.
The use of local product foods and fresh-cut products, the dietitian's recognition, the required items and the quality for school foodservice was investigated to increase the consumption of high-quality agricultural products. Data from 578 elementary schools, 228 middle schools and 116 high schools were collected by school foodservice personnels in each regional Education Administration in Gyeong-gi province. The first criteria of buying food materials was reliability/safety for all school foodservice. The second criteria were the origin of the product and freshness/ripeness for elementary and middle schools and high school, respectively. The most important consideration for selecting a supplier was the quality of the material. The appearance/status of the food was the first factor for buying food materials. The origin and the seasonality were very important for buying farm products. Dietitians in Gyeong-gi province recognized the local products, and used them weekly. The advantages of using local products were the quick supply, freshness and safety. On the other hand, the disadvantages were the lack of information and the uncertainty of supply. Sixty eight percent of the subjects had experienced the high-quality agricultural products in school meals, but the frequency was low. The main reasons for not servicing high-quality agricultural products were the high cost and the lack of trust on the quality. Among fresh-cut products, seasonings and root vegetables were purchased most frequently, but leaf vegetables was 5.7% only. The purchase of fresh-cut products was not frequent, but usually satisfied. The advantages of fresh-cut products were the reduced workload and waste, but the reason for not using them were poor hygiene and the high price. The diverse supply system and the promotion of the local product foods would be necessary since the most food materials were purchased through suppliers. In addition, the problems related to the high cost and distrust should be resolved to expand the consumption of the high-quality agricultural products and the fresh-cut vegetables. The institutions for certifying the quality should be needed to increase the confidence of these products.

Purpose - Eggs are nutritionally complete and one of the most popular natural foods. Moreover, the poultry industry is one of the important food industries. However, early industrialization of the poultry industry on its own did not lead to further development compared to other livestock industries. In this study, we investigate what factors influence consumers' behavior and how consumers' understanding of retail business affects their propensity to consume. This study is different from other studies as it analyzes how the brand names of manufacturers and distribution companies affect the purchasing characteristics or actual purchase behavior of consumers in order to suggest how these manufacturers and distribution companies can increase their competitiveness. Research design, data, methodology - This study conducted a survey of 250 randomly selected egg purchasers in discount stores from January to April 2013. Consumers' purchase tendencies were calculated through frequency analysis. This result was then utilized using cluster analysis to draw a conclusion about which purchase tendency influenced consumers buying three different brands of eggs or whether this tendency really affected consumers. As a result, the outcomes of Hypotheses 2 and 3 were not clear so we drew a conclusion with our analysis of Hypothesis 1. Results - While the outcomes of Hypotheses 2 and 3 did not clearly indicate whether purchasing tendencies affected consumers when buying eggs, our analysis of Hypothesis 1 indicated that consumers were affected by the quality of the eggs rather than exterior factors such as the brand name. Thus, we concluded that it is important to promote the excellence of the quality of the eggs. Usually firms buy eggs from farms and repackage them in order to sell them. In this sense, if consumers were aware of this egg production process, and eggs were fairly distributed to retailers, large retail PB businesses would also be able to enhance their competitiveness. Conclusions - The brand, packaging, retail outlet, and other external features influenced the purchase of eggs to a certain degree, while shelf life, grade of the eggs, cleanliness, and other intrinsic characteristics had more influence. In particular, shelf life was the most important factor influencing purchase. Consumers were influenced not only by intrinsic characteristics of the eggs but also by large-scale producers' brands. Consumers relied upon the brand despite reduced competition because they found it difficult to identify shelf life and/or cleanliness. Small businesses and/or large-scale retailers can remain competitive by maintaining the freshness and cleanliness of the eggs. Further studies need to investigate areas in which consumers' cognition of the product is poor and/or the purchase inclination with regard to less developed industries such as eggs. In this study, the greatest problem was that consumers did not consume in accordance with the current situation as consumers have preferred fresh and clean eggs for a long time compared to purchase decisions based on external brands and/or packaging.
