STANDARDISATION OF NIR INSTRUMENTS, INFLUENCE OF THE CALIBRATION METHODS AND THE SIZE OF THE CLONING SET

  • A previous study (Berzaghi et al., 2001) evaluated the performance of 3 calibration methods, modified partial least squares (MPLS), local PLS (LOCAL) and artificial neural networks (ANN) on the prediction of the chemical composition of forages, using a large NIR database. The study used forage samples (n=25,977) from Australia, Europe (Belgium, Germany, Italy and Sweden) and North America (Canada and U.S.A) with reference values for moisture, crude protein and neutral detergent fibre content. The spectra of the samples were collected using 10 different Foss NIR Systems instruments, only some of which had been standardized to one master instrument. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the behaviour of these different calibration methods when predicting the same samples measured on different instruments. Twenty-two sealed samples of different kind of forages were measured in duplicate on seven instruments (one master and six slaves). Three sets of near infrared spectra (1100 to 2500nm) were created. The first set consisted of the spectra in their original form (unstandardized); the second set was created using a single sample standardization (Clone1); the third was created using a multiple sample procedure (Clone6). WinISI software (Infrasoft International Inc., Port Mathilda, PA, USA) was used to perform both types of standardization, Clone1 is just a photometric offset between a “master” instrument and the “slave” instrument. Clone6 modifies both the X-axis through a wavelength adjustment and the Y-axis through a simple regression wavelength by wavelength. The Clone1 procedure used one sample spectrally close to the centre of the population. The six samples used in Clone 6 were selected to cover the range of spectral variation in the sample set. The remaining fifteen samples were used to evaluate the performances of the different models. The predicted values for dry matter, protein and neutral detergent fibre from the master Instrument were considered as “reference Y values” when computing the statistics RMSEP, SEPC, R, Bias, Slope, mean GH (global Mahalanobis distance) and mean NH (neighbourhood Mahalanobis distance) for the 6 slave instruments. From the results we conclude that i) all the calibration techniques gave satisfactory results after standardization. Without standardization the predicted data from the slaves would have required slope and bias correction to produce acceptable statistics. ii) Standardization reduced the errors for all calibration methods and parameters tested, reducing not only systematic biases but also random errors. iii) Standardization removed slope effects that were significantly different from 1.0 in most of the cases. iv) Clone1 and Clone6 gave similar results except for NDF where Clone6 gave better RMSEP values than Clone1. v) GH and NH were reduced by half even with very large data sets including unstandardized spectra.

탁수모델링에 사용하는 유량-SS 관계의 불확실성 (Uncertainty of Discharge-SS Relationship Used for Turbid Flow Modeling)

  • 저수지 탁수 모델링에서 실측자료가 없는 경우 유입하천 부유사 농도(SS) 산정을 위해 유량(Q)과 SS 관계식이 자주 사용된다. 일반적으로 하천을 통과하는 SS 부하율은 유량에 의해 변동된다는 가정 하에 유량과 SS의 멱함수(SS=aQb) 관계가 가장 빈번히 적용되고 있다. 그러나 Q-SS 관계는 측정 지점에 따라 배타적 특성을 가지며, 동일 지점에 대해서도 연중 계절적 변동성이 있다. 더욱이, Q-SS 관계는 동일한 수문곡선에서도 유량 상승기와 하강기에 이격현상을 보이기도 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 용담댐 저수지와 소양강댐 저수지 유입 하천에서 강우시 연속 실측한 자료를 바탕으로 Q-SS 관계의 이격현상을 고찰하고, SS 부하율 산정 오차에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 있다. 연구결과, Q-SS 관계는 홍수사상 동안 높은 분산도와 시계방향의 이격현상을 보였으며, 동일한 유량에 대해 유량 상승기가 하강기보다 SS 농도가 높게 나타났다. 이러한 이격현상은 저수지로 유입하는 SS 부하량 산정에 있어 유의할 만한 오차로 작용하였으며 Q-SS 멱함수는 실측 부하량을 과소평가하는 결과를 가져왔다. 이것은 저수지 탁수모델링에서 중요하게 고려해야 할 사항이다. 본 연구에서는 Q-SS 관계식의 대안으로 탁도-SS관계가 제시되었다. 탁도-SS 관계는Q-SS 관계보다 분산도가 작았으며 실측 부하량과의 오차를 획기적으로 줄였다. 따라서 저수지로 유입하는 SS 부하율의 보다 정확한 산정과 탁수모델링의 신뢰도를 높이기 위해서는 유입 탁도에 대한 실시간모니터링이 필요하다.

기온의 일 변동을 고려한 COMS 지표면온도 산출 알고리즘 개선 (Improvement of COMS land surface temperature retrieval algorithm by considering diurnal variation of air temperature)

  • 천리안(Communication, Ocean, and Meteorological Satellite) 위성자료로부터 Cho et al.(2015)에 의해 개발된 분리대기창법(split-window method: CSW_v2.0)을 적용하여 현업적으로 지표면온도를 산출하고 있다. CSW_v2.0으로부터 산출된 지표면온도는 MODIS 지표면온도와 비교하였을 때 적절한 수준의 정확도로 산출되었으나 역전층이나 기온감률이 클 때 상대적으로 오차가 크게 발생하였다. 이를 해결하기 위해 지표 경계층에서의 기온의 일변동을 복사전달모델에 처방하여 모의자료를 구축한 후 이를 이용하여 지표면온도 산출 알고리즘을 개선하였다(CSW_v3.0). CSW_v3.0에서는 복사전달모델에 처방된 지표면온도와 복사전달모델로부터 산출된 지표면온도간의 상관계수가 기존 알고리즘과 동일한 수준인 0.99 이상을 유지하면서 편의는 -0.03 K에서 -0.012 K, RMSE는 1.39 K에서 1.138 K로 감소하였다. CSW_v2.0에서 역전층이나 기온감률이 클 때, 휘도온도차와 방출율 차가 클 때 발생하는 계통적 오차를 개선된 알고리즘에서는 편의와 RMSE를 10-30% 감소시켜 상당 부분 개선하였다. CSW_v3.0으로부터 산출된 지표면온도와 MODIS 지표면온도와의 간접 검증에서는 상관계수가 0.986에서 0.985로 높은 상관성을 유지하면서 편의는 0.629 K에서 -0.049 K, RMSE는 2.537 K에서 2.502 K로 오차를 감소시켰다.

Synthetic antiferromagnet CoFe/Ru/CoFe/FeMn을 이용한 스핀 밸브 구조의 자기저항 특성 (The Magnetoresistance Properties of Spin Valves with CoFe/Ru/CoFe/FeMn Synthetic Antiferromagnet)

  • FeMn에 의해 교환 바이어스된 Synthetic antiferromagnet(CoFe/Ru/CoFe)을 가진 Top Ta/NiFe/CoFe/Cu/CoFe/Ru/CoFe/FeMm/Ta 스핀밸브 구조를 마그네트론 스퍼터링 법으로 제조하여 유효 교환이방성 및 자기저항 특성을 조사하였다. FeMn 반강자성층의 두께가 100$\AA$정도일 때 자기저항비와 유효 교환바이어스 자장이 최대값을 나타내었으며, 100 $\AA$ 이상 두께 증가시 FeMn층을 통한 션팅 전류에 의한 자기저항 효율의 저하로 자기저항이 점점 감소하였다. 자유층의 두께가 40 $\AA$일 때 7.5% 이상의 최대 자기저항비가 얻어졌으며, 자유층의 두께 감소에 따라 자기저항비는 감소하였다. Synthetic antiferrormagnet 구조에서 Cu층에 인접한 CoFe(Pl)층의 두께를 증가시키고 FeMn층에 인접한 CoFe(P2)층의 두께를 감소시켜 그 두께 차이가 증가할수록 자기저항비는 증가하였고 반면 유효 교환 바이어스 자장은 감소하였다. 자기저항특성의 증가는 Pl층 두께 증가로 인한 스핀의존산란 효율의 증가로 이해되었으며, 유효 교환 바이어스 자장의 감소는 최소에너지 모델의 이론적 계산을 통해 감소경향을 검증할 수 있었다.

정류성 접합에 의한 광다이오드의 특성 개선 (The Characteristic Improvement of Photodiode by Schottky Contact)

  • 비정질실리콘은 빛을 받으면 자유전자와 자유정공이 무수히 발생하여 전류 또는 전압의 형태로 나타나는 광전변환 재료이다. 이를 광다이오드로 사용하기 위해서는 금속 박막(Thin film)과 결합하여 쇼트키 다이오드로 만드는 기술이 효과적이다. 본 연구에서는 광다이오드의 신뢰성 및 특성을 개선하기 위하여 크롬실리사이드를 기존의 방식과 달리 하부 전극으로 크롬금속 박막을 증착한 후 그 위에 사일렌(SiH4)가스를 사용해서 PECVD (Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition) 진공 증착장비로 최적의 비정질실리콘 박막을 얇게 (100$\AA$) 만들어 열처리를 통하여 크롬실리사이드 박막을 형성 한 후 광다이오드 소자를 제조한다. 이렇게 형성된 크롬실리사이드 광 다이오드를 사용하여 암전류와 광전류를 측정찬 결과 기존의 방식보다 우수한 성능이 나타났고, 공정도 단순화 할 수 있었으며 그리고 신뢰성도 개선되었다.

결막염에 대한 한방 점안액의 효과 비교 : 체계적 문헌 고찰과 메타 분석 (Comparison of the Effectiveness of Herbal Medicine Eye Drops on Conjunctivitis : A Systematic Literature Review and Meta-Analysis)

  • Objectives : This study was conducted to find out the effectiveness and safety of herbal medicine eye drops on conjunctivitis. Methods : We searched randomized controlled trials on conjunctivitis through 10 DBs from the start to April 27, 2022. Study collection and data extraction, and evaluation of risk of bias were conducted by two independent researchers. The evaluation of the risk of bias in included RCTs was carried out by using Cochrane risk-of-bias tool. And the data synthesis was conducted by using Review Manager(RevMan, ver.5.4). Results : Total of 106 studies are researched and 7 studies of them are finally included. 1. The herbal medicine eye drops are more effective on than the western medicine eye drops, but the heterogeneity was very high. So we conducted sensitivity analysis and compared to the herbal medicine eye drops and the western medicine eye drops, the total effective rate was higher in the herbal medicine eye drops and the heterogeneity was somewhat reduced. 2. In the subgroup analysis, Fufang Xiongdan eye drops and Houttuynia cordata Thunb eye drops are more effective than the western medicine. It may represent substantial heterogeneity. 3. In the subgroup analysis, the herbal medicine eye drops are more effective than antibiotic and antiviral eye drops on acute bacterial conjunctivitis, but showed high heterogeneity. On the other hand, the herbal medicine eye drops are more effective than antibiotic and antiviral eyed drops on acute viral conjuctivitis and showed low heterogeneity. 4. In the subgroup analysis, we compared the effectiveness of herbal and western medicine eye drops according to total effectiveness rate evaluation methods. When comparing the studies calculating the total effective rate by the sum of 'Cured', 'Significantly Impaired', and 'Improved', the effective rate of the herbal medicine eye drops was higher than that of the western medicine eye drops, and the heterogeneity was very low. 5. In most studies, side effects of herbal medicine eye drops were absent or mild. Conclusions : This study shows that herbal medicine eye drops may be more effective than western medicine eye drops and have safety. But further researches are needed to resolve the heterogeneity of this study.

  • Intelligent systems(i.e., artificial intelligence), particularly deep learning, are machines able to mimic the cognitive functions of humans to perform tasks of problem-solving and learning. This field deals with computational models that can think and act intelligently, like the human brain, and construct algorithms that can learn from data to make predictions. Artificial intelligence is becoming important in radiology due to its ability to detect abnormalities in radiographic images that are unnoticed by the naked human eye. These systems have reduced radiologists' workload by rapidly recording and presenting data, and thereby monitoring the treatment response with a reduced risk of cognitive bias. Intelligent systems have an important role to play and could be used by dentists as an adjunct to other imaging modalities in making appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans. In the field of maxillofacial radiology, these systems have shown promise for the interpretation of complex images, accurate localization of landmarks, characterization of bone architecture, estimation of oral cancer risk, and the assessment of metastatic lymph nodes, periapical pathologies, and maxillary sinus pathologies. This review discusses the clinical applications and scope of intelligent systems such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and deep learning programs in maxillofacial imaging.

Effect of Plasma Area on Frequency of Monostatic Radar Cross Section Reduction

  • This work reports on the effect of plasma area on the frequency characteristics of the monostatic radar cross section (RCS) of a square metallic plate. A dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma actuator consisting of 10 rings is proposed. The actuator is fabricated in three different configurations such that only three inner rings, seven inner rings, and all rings can be biased. By applying an 18-kV bias at 1 kHz, the three types of DBD actuators generate plasma with a total area of 16.96, 36.74, and $53.69cm^2$, respectively, in a ring or circular form. The experimental results reveal that when the DBD actuator is placed in front of a $20mm{\times}20cm$ conducting plate, the monostatic RCS is reduced by as much as 18.5 dB in the range of 9.41-11.65 GHz. Furthermore, by generating the plasma and changing the area, the frequency of maximum reduction in the monostatic RCS of the plate can be controlled. The frequency is reduced by nearly 20% in the X band when all rings are biased. Finally, an electromagnetic model of the plasma is obtained by comparing the experimental and full-wave simulated results.

Improvement Performance of Graphene-MoS2 Barristor treated by 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES)

  • Graphene by one of the two-dimensional (2D) materials has been focused on electronic applications due to its ultrahigh carrier mobility, outstanding thermal conductivity and superior optical properties. Although graphene has many remarkable properties, graphene devices have low on/off current ratio due to its zero bandgap. Despite considerable efforts to open its bandgap, it's hard to obtain appropriate improvements. To solve this problem, heterojunction barristor was proposed based on graphene. Mostly, this heterojunction barristor is made by transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), such as molybdenum disulfide ($MoS_2$) and tungsten diselenide ($WSe_2$), which have extremely thickness scalability of TMDs. The heterojunction barristor has the advantage of controlling graphene's Fermi level by applying gate bias, resulting in barrier height modulation between graphene interface and semiconductor. However, charged impurities between graphene and $SiO_2$ cause unexpected p-type doping of graphene. The graphene's Fermi level modulation is expected to be reduced due to this p-doping effect. Charged impurities make carrier mobility in graphene reduced and modulation of graphene's Fermi level limited. In this paper, we investigated theoretically and experimentally a relevance between graphene's Fermi level and p-type doping. Theoretically, when Fermi level is placed at the Dirac point, larger graphene's Fermi level modulation was calculated between -20 V and +20 V of $V_{GS}$. On the contrary, graphene's Fermi level modulation was 0.11 eV when Fermi level is far away from the Dirac point in the same range. Then, we produced two types heterojunction barristors which made by p-type doped graphene and graphene treated 2.4% APTES, respectively. On/off current ratio (32-fold) of graphene treated 2.4% APTES was improved in comparison with p-type doped graphene.

MOS 소자를 위한 $HfO_3$게이트 절연체와 $WSi_2$게이트의 집적화 연구 (Investigation of $WSi_2$ Gate for the Integration With $HfO_3$gate oxide for MOS Devices)

  • We report the structural and electrical properties of hafnium oxide (HfO$_2$) films with tungsten silicide (WSi$_2$) metal gate. In this study, HfO$_2$thin films were fabricated by oxidation of sputtered Hf metal films on Si, and WSi$_2$was deposited directly on HfO$_2$by LPCVD. The hysteresis windows in C-V curves of the WSi$_2$HfO$_2$/Si MOS capacitors were negligible (<20 mV), and had no dependence on frequency from 10 kHz to 1 MHz and bias ramp rate from 10 mV to 1 V. In addition, leakage current was very low in the range of 10$^{-9}$ ~10$^{-10}$ A to ~ 1 V, which was due to the formation of interfacial hafnium silicate layer between HfO$_2$and Si. After PMA (post metallization annealing) of the WSi$_2$/HfO$_2$/Si MOS capacitors at 500 $^{\circ}C$ EOT (equivalent oxide thickness) was reduced from 26 to 22 $\AA$ and the leakage current was reduced by approximately one order as compared to that measured before annealing. These results indicate that the effect of fluorine diffusion is negligible and annealing minimizes the etching damage.
