Focusing on the vision of future urban development that it will be necessary to divert from problem of regulation to policy of deregulation. After the redevelopment & reconstruction policy is improving as soon so possible that it must be reflected urban development project.

Ministry of Construction and Transportation approved amendments to the Seongnam City that permits the redevelopment of Seongnam City in December 2001, The city will begin the first of three phases in the redevelopment which will be spread over more than ten years. This study aims at inquiring into the design process of the 'Seongnam Redevelopment Exhibition Center' project by focusing on the role of the architectural and exhibitional designer. In terms of architectural approach, 'Seongnam Redevelopment Exhibition Center' will play a role environmentally as a street object, and functionally as an exhibitory, selling, public, educational and cultural space for Seongnam citizens. The plan of exhibition space, cultural space, rest area and office space is not independent or contradictory but organical in a three-floor composition.

Most of agricultural reservoirs in Korea have no function of flood control except 5% of reservoirs even exposed to natural disaster. In addition, there are increasing needs for the reservoir to guarantee the release of environmental flow to the downstream. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to study the priority decision method for the reservoir redevelopment satisfying both water utilization and flood control. The major scopes of this research are to set up six priority indices and to make needed GIS data for calculating each priority. There is important consideration of obtaining the data or not in deciding the indices. Although the detailed indices is expected to better reflect redevelopment priority but the subjective indices like, 'opinion' and 'landscape' are excluded. From the results, it will enables the six priority indices to really assist in decision redevelopment priority of agricultural reservoirs.

The present urban redevelopment has caused many problems. The truth is that the improvement of residential environment in this country has resulted in high-rise apartment buildings of the same form, without regard for vestiges of previous residents and regional characteristics. If redevelopment should be continued in a proper way to improve the right to adequate housing, a new form of urban design will be required, solving existing problems. For this, the cultural and ecological elements of the redevelopment site to be conserved and developed should be found and designed. Consequently, this study focuses on the cases of domestic and overseas urban design that cultural and ecological elements have been applied to redevelopment, and suggests Hwamyeong-dong, a deteriorated area in Busan, to design from a cultural and ecological point of view.
The primary purpose of this study is to suggest policy directions for redevelopment project based on analysis of residents' perception on needs and reasons of redevelopment, and development type in old settlements in Daegu Metropolitan City. The main findings are follows. First, the study area is short of public space such as road and parks, occupied by old single detached houses with small parcel. The living environment of the area consist with many 20 years or older two story houses is very poor. Second, most of residents (58.5%) consider economic factors or cheaper rent more serious than other factors such as convenience, amenity, and education facilities. Third, residents want new housing construction even though explanatory power of trash collection, bad smells, privacy is very high in residents' satisfaction. Fourth, most of residents (88.8%) agree redevelopment and show strong preference to high-density apartment construction through demolish-and-development type of redevelopment approach. They are willing to agree the parcellevel redevelopment if governments provides economic supports and temporary settlements. This finding suggests very important policy implications for current government efforts to improve living environment.

The population is concentrated in the metropolitan areas in Korea, and low-density residential areas are transforming into high density residential areas through redevelopment to meet this demand. However, large-scale redevelopment in a short period of time has a negative impact on the urban climate, such as generating a heat island effect due to the reduction of urban green areas. In this study, the change in surface temperature from 2013 to 2022 in the redevelpment areas of Godeok-dong and Dunchon-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, was analyzed using Landsat 8 satellite images. In the Godeok-dong area, the difference in surface temperature was analyzed for the target redevelopment area, forest area, mixed forest and urban area, and low density residential area. In the Dunchon-dong area, the difference in surface temperature was analyzed for the target redevelopment area, forest area, and low density residential area. The difference in surface temperature was analyzed through multiple regression analysis conducted yearly over the three different stages in redevelopment period. The results from the multiple regression analysis show that in both areas, the land surface temperature of target redevelopment area was higher than that of the forest area and lower than low density residential area. It can be seen that these results occurred because the low-density residential area in Godeok-dong and Dunchon-dong had a lower green area ratio and a higher building-to-land ratio than the target redevelopment area. The results of this study suggest that even if low-density residential areas are transforming into high-density areas, adjusting the management of green areas and building-to-land ratio can contribute to lessen urban heat island effect.
In this work, soil environment policy which should be taken into account at brownfield redevelopment projects was deduced from investigation on their environmental impact assessment statements. Soil contamination sources such as small-scale factories were found at a few large-scale brownfield projects, so contaminated soils did often exist at these sites. Especially, military facilities within the sites caused severe soil contamination problems. Therefore, soil environment policy was presented in detail to solve soil contamination problem at brownfield redevelopment projects. Furthermore, land-use planning focusing on greening (soil and vegetation) should be pursued at brownfield redevelopment projects in order to maximize environmental benefits of greenspace.

The housing redevelopment goes on smoothly, because it has problem that prevent theory and alternative policy. The conflict factors may remove to the problem before. This study has proposed that is universally applicable to the housing redevelopment and the conflict factors was supplied effective use of resources. This paper get the conclusion as a survey. first, It have a conflict solution for successful housing redevelopment business. Second, reconstruction business process categorized four stage. Third, It suggest an alternative about reconstruction business manage and systematization.
Established redevelopment and reconstruction projects were unified into one law in 2003 when the 'Act of Urban, Residential and Environment Improvement' was enacted. However, the act only focused on the improvement of the physical state of residential environments established by maintenance projects. In order to be effective, the law also needs to improve the nonphysical aspects of the residential environment. While conducting our research and comparing it with past research, we identified the major factors of residential preferences in order to extract and analyze the nonphysical state of residential environments. As a result, we found that social and economic factors are significantly more important to residents than cultural factors. Also, we found that in each district studied the housing preferences were the most important in redevelopment and reconstruction with the exception of Sangdang-Gu (where the community was the most important factor) and Hungduk-Gu (where the social factor was most important). For future purposes, it is necessary to consider the variables according to each location in order to reflect the needs of the residents when building an apartment complex within the redevelopment and reconstruction district.
The environmental management is essential for construction projects. The environmental management cost for construction projects is used for various purposes to control the environmental pollution and treat the wastes generated from the construction sites. Six construction cases were analyzed to compare the environmental management cost. The proportion of environmental management cost for total construction budget should be higher than 0.70% in redevelopment projects and 0.30% in newly constructed buildings, respectively, but every six construction cases did not meet the legal requirement. Redevelopment projects expanded more environmental management cost than the newly constructed projects especially in noise control and wastes treatment. In case of apartment construction projects, the proportion of environmental management cost of redevelopment buildings is 2.4 times higher than the newly constructed buildings, but in all cases, paid more attention to the noise and waste controlling measures than the wastewater treatment. It is needed to ensure the cost-effectiveness of environmental management for achieving the eco-friendly construction sites.
