  • Model Based Compensator(MBC) is recently used for the analysis of multi-variable control in frequency domain. Target loop is designed by the demanding requirements such as cross-over frequency, disturbance rejection in low frequency domain, zero steady-state error, identification of maximum and minimum singular values and sensor noise rejection in high frequency domain. Loop transfer recovery will be continued in frequency domain until the plant with MBC comes close to the target loop. In this study, the technique using MBC is applied to the elevator vibration control system. It is found that this technique is very effective to control the vibration system.

  • The CCM (Continuous Conduction Mode) boost topology is generally used in the PFC (Power Factor Correction) regulator of household air-conditioning systems. There are three kinds of power devices-bridge rectifier diodes, FRDs (Fast Recovery Diodes), and IGBTs (or MOSFETs) - used In a boost PFC regulator. Selecting the appropriate device is very cumbersome work, specially, in the case of FRDs and IGBTs, because there are several considerations as described below: 1) High frequency leakage current regulation (conducted and radiated EMI regulation) 2) Power losses and thermal design 3) Device cost. It should be noted that there are trade-offs between the power loss characteristic of 2) and the other characteristics of 1) and 3). This paper presents a detailed evaluation by using several types of power devices, which can be unintentionally used, to show that optimal selection can be achieved. Based on the given thermal resistances, thermal analysis and design procedures are also described from a practical viewpoint.

  • 본 논문에서는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널(PDP)의 높은 소비 전력을 줄이기 위해 요구되어지는 에너지 회수회로를 제안한다. 제안하는 회로는 기존의 회로와 비교하여 저가형 구조를 가지며 효율을 증대 시킬 수 있는 장점을 가진다 본 회로는 유지 구간 동안 두 번의 공진을 수행하게 된다. 패널과 병렬로 결합된 인덕터와 외부 캐패시터 사이에서 발생하는 첫 번째 공진은 정$\cdot$부의 선택적인 펄스를 발생시키기 위해 이용되고, 스위치 오프 구간동안 순간적으로 발생되는 인덕터와 패널사이의 두번째 공진은 PDP의 용량성 변위 전류에 의한 에너지를 회수하게 된다. 제안하는 회로의 동작원리와 설계절차를 제시하였으며, 7.5인치 패널을 이용한 시작품을 제작하여 시뮬레이션과 실험결과를 통해 타당성 을 검증하였다.

  • Although a dry-system tunnel is not good for reasons fo economy and construction, it has been applied to some tunnels under construction owing to the advantages of good long-term maintenance of tunnel, prevention of consolidation settlement due to the drawdown of groundwater, preservation of the ecosystem, cutailment of operation cost, and so on. The stability of groundwater and the change of the applied water pressure after water proofing were analysed by the finite element method. Using this result, an example of designing the secondary lining for the dry-system tunnel which is to be constructed in low-permeability hard rock was presented.

  • In the case of the remediation studies, push pull test is a more time and cost effective mettled than multi-well tracer test. It also gives Just as much or more information than the traditionally used methods. But the data analysis for the hydraulic parameters, there have been some defections such as underestimation of dispersivity, requirement for effective porosity, and calculation of recovery of center of mass to estimate linear velocity. In this research, Weibull distribution function is proposed to estimate the center of mass of breakthrough curve for Push pull test. The hydraulic parameter estimation using Weibull function showed more exact values of center of mass than those of exponential regression for field test data.

  • The Transmission network provides physical transport, network security, and connection services. The Transmission Charges are made up of transmission connection charge and transmission charge of network.   • In this paper, present status of super high-efficiency tandem solar cells has been reviewed and key issues for realizing super high-efficiency have also been discussed. In addition, the terretrial R&D activities of tandem cells, in the New Sunshine Program of MITI(Ministry of International Trade and Industry) and NEDO(New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) in Japan are reviewed briefly. The mechanical stacked 3-junction cells of monolithically grown InGaP/GaAs 2-junction cells and InGaAs cells have reached the highest efficiency achieved in Japan of 33.3% at 1-sun AM1.5. This paper also reports high-efficiency InGaP/GaAs 2-junction solar cells with a world-record efficiency of 26.9% at AM0, 28$^{\circ}C$ and radiation damage recovery phenomena of the tandem cell performance due to minority-carrier injection under light illumination or forward bias, which causes defect annealing in InGaP top cells. Future prospects for realizing super-high efficiency and low-cost tandem solar cells are also described.

  • Recent recovery of the Korean economy drives a rapid increase in utility consumption and requires more stable utility supply and maintenance. However, power location security hardship, reinforcement of international environmental regulation and a huge cost of power plant construction have increased the burden laid on the stable supply. In addition, an efficient and flexible load management is required more than any era since an increment of the rate of increase in cooling load is expected. Therefore, according as the necessity of direct load control for cooling load during the summer in Korea was on the rise, direct load control systems by Internet communication method are constructed at five commercial buildings. Based on practical load control, this study proposes various application modes and communication methods prior to extension diffusion of direct load control hereafter.

  • Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOCs include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short- and long-term adverse health effects.
